Computer Metal, the intense, singular new album from Master Boot Record, makes a bold statement across its 10 songs, kicking off with the first single, “DOT MATRIX” and wrapping up with “CTRL+ALT+DEL.” The follow-up to 2024’s Hardwarez, Computer Metal was written via MIDI in Cubase, with the computer as the main instrument. Computer Metal refines a hybrid of real guitar layered with synths and pushes the production to higher levels.Multi-instrumentalist mastermind Vittorio D'Amore explains the thrust of his latest opus: “Hardwarez was about the hardware, Computer Metal is more connected to what computers represented in our lives and the memory we have of them. This album is a sort of codex of the genre,” he says, “since each song expresses a different style of metal, while still being done with the computer.”

Demuir makes house music with the sort of feeling and character that defined the earliest days of the sound. Gospel, funk, jazz, and much more all color his grooves next to a superb array of samples, and all of that is on display across "The Intersecting Virtues of Love and Respect", a new album packed with jams. 'TIVLR - Moment Of Clarity' has neat organ chords worked into a soulful, dusty groove; there is an infectious bubble to the drums and molten chords of 'Alone In Chicago' and 'Somethin 'Bout Respect' is smooth, free-flowing analog house with jazzy fingers dancing across the keys. Elsewhere, 'Know Thy Value' is deeper and more heads down and 'Speak Power To Your (Black) Man' is a freewheeling and sunny sound anchored by more trademark Demuir drums.

Dark Entries is Filling Your Silence with the help of J.D. Slater. Legendary actor, director, and composer J.D. Slater is sometimes known as "the Lou Reed of gay porn." Slater cut his teeth in the New York punk scene, even opening for the Talking Heads and Blondie at CBGB with his project Frenzy. A true polymath of the erotic, he co-founded Raging Stallion Studios with Chris Ward in 1999, which has remained a prolific outlet in the world of gay pornography. Having spent years in front of and behind the camera, 1999's Filling Your Silence was his debut as maestro. This album collects the soundtracks from the first two Raging Stallion films - Sexpack One and Sexpack Two - to bring us nine tracks of sleazy beats and trance-like moments of pure ecstasy. Album opener "Seduction" begins with the iconic synthetic pan flute, one of the defining sounds of the 1990s, before pulling us along with it's wild grooves. Halfway through it's nine-and-a-half- minute course, it breaks down to bust out a jazzy electric piano vamp. "Running with Scissors" ups the tempo with some crunchy breakbeats to undergird it's portamento-laced lead synth. Elsewhere, like on "Mercy" and "Mercy (2nd Movement)," we see Slater embracing a bleep-adjacent sound close to early Nightmares on Wax or 808 State. Filling Your Silence's endless grooves pursue that oceanic feeling. This record comes with a one-sided insert that includes archival Raging Stallion press materials. In the words of the Bay Area Reporter, Filling Your Silence is "quite possibly the best music for sex ever written." A bold claim, but we can't help but agree. LA FLACA was Jarabe de Palo's first album release back in 1996. This is the first vinyl release for this album and will include an aqua marble color disc. This album introduced Spain to some new and creative sounds and fusion of music styles by one of their own. This freshman album would become successful in the band's country witnessing multi-platinum status and eventually, the album would also take off throughout Latin America as well. Right before the band started gaining recognition, it was Pau Donés' trip to Cuba that gave him the inspiration for the majority of the songs he wrote and became the bands first studio album. Both the album title and track, LA FLACA, rose from a young, lovely skinny (La Flaca) woman he saw walking alongside Havana's shoreline known as El Malecon. This song would become one of a few strong singles that became known in the world of Spanish rock music. Other singles found here include "Quiero Ser Poeta", "Quitame La Vida", "Grita" and "El Lado Oscuro". UPC: 1200214286446Label: Warner Music LatinaRelease Date: 10.30.26Format: Vinyl

There is no grand, overarching storyline to Save As, the second solo album from Elena Tonra'sEx: Re project. Rather, the album - produced by Fabian Prynn and also featuring JosephineStephenson on cello, Hinako Omori on synthesisers, Ben Reed on bass and Jethro Fox on electricguitar - is the latest in the Daughter lead singer's catalogue of expert chronicles of the gnawingminutiae of human consciousness: the over-thinking that consumes us, and the places we travelto escape. The title of album opener "Radio Station", which begins with stately strummed acoustic guitarand morphs into a trippy song about an endless California roadtrip, is a metaphor for howTonra feels about her mind. "I end up getting stuck because I can't make decisions," she says.Demo recordings live on in many of the final cuts, as on "Sleep", which Tonra first recorded in ahotel room in Paris. The final version features a melodic loop made from the demo's acousticguitar run through a vocoder and a drum machine, which together offer a muffled quality to thesound, like hearing a party through a wall.Other tracks, such as the stand-out "Am I Even Real?", a Tonra-Prynn duet on which Tonra singsabout spaceships to ask whether she is being true to herself in a relationship, found their trueversion in the studio. That combination of long-held ideas stored in notebooks and on laptopswith unfiltered first thoughts and improvisations is key to the album's perfect mingling ofliveliness and deep thoughtfulness.
