Composed by Hello Games' audio director Paul Weir and Sheffield instrumental band 65daysofstatic, No Man's Sky: Journeys has been crafted from the ground-up as a fully-fledged companion piece to the original No Man's Sky soundtrack.This new soundtrack includes 32 new songs born out of the endless, dynamic soundscapes from the Pathfinder update. Until now, these soundscapes have been sitting inside the video game generating infinite variations of themselves. Now they're landing on vinyl - a sonic representation of the game's constantly evolving journey over the last nine years.

Limited edition white and red splatter retail first pressing of 6,000 units Since its publication in 1818, Mary Shelley’s groundbreaking novel Frankenstein has borne a seemingly infinite number of cinematic versions, and from that, some exceptional film music. Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is the latest, and Alexandre Desplat’s score is the perfect accompaniment. In their third collaboration, following 2017’s The Shape of Water and 2022’s Pinocchio, the pair have conjured an electrifying mix of beautiful lyricism and deep emotions, conveying the wonder and tragedy of Shelley’s classic tale. Desplat’s score instantly evokes del Toro and Shelley’s world in the opening, which introduces the hauntingly beautiful seven-note motif for the real antagonist, Victor Frankenstein. This is accompanied by ghostly female choral voices and a low electronic pulsing, resulting in a representation of the inherent Gothic nature of the story and the themes of life and death, with the pulsing serving as a shorthand for the power that Victor will use to bring his creature into existence. Eldbjørg Hemsing, on solo violin, gives us a range of gorgeous tones that modulate from the beauty of nature to the beauty of melancholy. At the same time, Desplat writes music for Victor’s creation that is surprisingly enchanting as well as forceful, with an almost euphoric waltz scoring the building of Victor’s gruesome experiment, with flesh and sinew abound. The birth of the creature is treated as a subversion of previous adaptations, with a lyrical and searching tone that is tender and delicate, like the birth of a child. A four-note motif that repeats with variations represents the creature itself, played tenderly on plucked strings with solo piano as counterpoint. However, that initially bright and questioning tone shifts as the creature experiences its life as Victor demands, and the tragedy of the creature and the story come into focus. Desplat’s score transitions into a deeply melancholy mood as both creator and creation descend into their own personal hell, albeit with less fury and more reflection and introspection, with a true emotional resonance. Frankenstein ends with a glorious reprisal of its themes, a showcase of Alexandre Desplat’s talent and the inspiration of Guillermo Del Toro and Mary Shelley. It’s a work that stands proudly alongside previous musical iterations and is another evolution in the ongoing collaboration between Del Toro and Desplat. Gorgeous and thoughtful, Frankenstein is much more than just the sum of its parts. - Charlie Brigden

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an anime streaming television series developed by Bryan Lee O'Malley and Ben David Grabinski for Netflix. The series is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels written and drawn by O'Malley, with the entire main cast from the 2010 film adaptation, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, reprising their roles for the English voice cast, and serves as both a sequel and re-imagining of the graphic novel and film. The series was released on November 17, 2023 to critical acclaim.
Unlike the film adaptation, which largely told the same story as the comics, Takes Off features a completely separate plot, with the titular Scott Pilgrim disappearing in the first episode, and Ramona Flowers, his love interest, taking the center stage, as she tries to find out who among the cast was responsible for his disappearance, all whilst other characters within the story work on a fictional adaption of Scott's life.

The multiple award-winning action-adventure game God of War was first released in 2005, but became such an instant hit, that Santa Monica Studio created seven more versions of the game. The most recent one, released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, focusses on main character Kratos' journey in the Greek world together with his son Atreus, following a path of vengeance as a result of being tricked into killing his family by Olympian gods. God of War received universal acclaim for it's story, design, graphics, combat system, characters, and music. It was awarded 'Game of the Year' by numerous media outlets and award shows. God of War (2018) performed well commercially, selling over five million copies within a month of it's release. It became one of the best-selling PlayStation 4 games. The official soundtrack won a BAFTA Award and is composed by Bear McCreary. It is set up around themes he created around primary characters in the game. Inspired by Viking folk music, McCreary used exotic instrumentation and languages from various Northern European folk traditions. It resulted in a score featuring deep choirs, pounding drums, shrieking brass and features Faroese singer-songwriter Eivor (Palsdottir). In this unhinged reimagining of Lloyd Kaufman's cult classic, the brothers capture the chaos, the silliness, and the triumphant heart of the original Troma trilogy. The guitar-drenched orchestral score careens from surfy crime-jazz and occult rock to Bossa Nova, classic superhero motifs, and an unhinged take on Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" (featured in the original Toxic Avenger) - complete with burps, farts, and the Prague Philharmonic. The pair also deliver original songs, including the nu-rap/slop-rock hit "(We Are) Crazy and Dangerous" from on-screen goth villains The Killer Nutz, their B-side "My Baby is an Axe," and the classic Doo Wop ode to young lovers "The Good Things" by fictional '50s group The Whoopsie Dews. Over 120 musicians in eight countries contributed to the soundtrack, including Medirecon. A generator recorded this 16-piece Kyiv-based string ensemble after Russian forces cut power to the city's power grid during the early days of the occupation. The year-long composing effort resulted in a soundtrack that's as fun, messy, and moving as the Troma films that inspired it. "The original Toxie soundtrack was such a bonkers mash-up of styles," says Will Blair. "Dancey-pop songs would be followed by punk rock, then go immediately into big orchestral pieces, followed by weird electro score - and it not only worked, it became part of the Troma experience. We trusted it would work with Macon's version of Toxie, and we're grateful he cut us loose to throw everything we had at it." Written and directed by the Blairs' older brother, Macon Blair, and starring Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon, The Toxic Avenger follows janitor Winston Gooze, who - after a freak toxic accident - mutates into an unlikely hero battling corporate overlords and corruption to save his son and his community. The album also comes complete with liner notes by writer/director Macon Blair as well as composers Brooke Blair and Will Blair, and is pressed on 140gm toxic black and green vinyl with glow-in-the-dark splatter and housed inside a silver mirrorboard jacket with glow-in-the-dark elements. Double vinyl LP pressing. In 2011, composer Ramin Djawadi was first asked to score a new TV series called Game of Thrones. In it's first season, much of the music was written for a small string ensemble, and filled out with synthetic pads and percussion. Over the course of the next six seasons the music budget got bigger and bigger to match the ever-increasing viewing figures the show was enjoying. This release celebrates the rich tapestry of music over the six series with the full firepower of an 80-piece symphony orchestra and choir. With so much music created for the sixty episodes so far broadcast, this album can of course only take in so much. The particular cues and themes it does highlight, though, lend themselves beautifully to this symphonic re-imagining.

Limited edition of 1500 numbered copies on silver coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. Trick Or Treat is the 1986 American horror film by de Laurentiis Entertainment Group, starring Marc Price and Tony Fields. The score is by Fastway, a British heavy metal band formed by Motörhead guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke, who also co-produced the album. The score entered the Billboard 200, where it remained for eleven months.
