Pablo's trademark 'Far East' sound (characterized by minor keys and prominent melodica lines) is predominant throughout, and is treated with care and grace by King Tubby, who has rarely sounded more inspired in his studio manipulations than he does here. Limited edition of 3000 numbered copies on orange coloured 180-gram audiophile vinyl. Peter Tosh was a reggae multi-instrumentalist from Jamaica who was one of the founders of the legendary band The Wailers, together with Bunny Wailer and of course Bob Marley. Equal Rights is his second studio album and the one that propelled him to the top of reggae, cementing him as a potential rival to Marley. That wouldn't quite happen, but Equal Rights is still one of the most influential reggae albums ever recorded. Tosh was a big human rights advocate and the track listing reflects this. Of course there is a version of "Get Up, Stand Up" written together with Bob Marley but "I Am That I Am", "Downpressor Man" (a version of Sinnerman, made famous by Nina Simone), "Stepping Razor" and "Apartheid" all became human rights anthems in their own right. In 1987 Tosh was killed during robbery, leaving reggae fans all over the world wondering what could have been. Equal Rights is available as an expanded 2LP edition including a bonus disc containing rare and unreleased songs previously only available on dubplates.

Cedric 'i'm' Brooks' United Africa has achieved cult status amongst reggae fans since it's original release in 1978. Dennis Brown was a Jamaican reggae singer. Released in 1993 and never reissued on vinyl since, this album was recorded at Music Works Recording Studio, which was renamed that same year Anchor Recording Studio, well known among reggae enthusiasts. It was produced by Doctor Dead and mixed at the prestigious Lion & Fox Recording Studio, the American base of the RAS Records label.The line-up is impeccable, featuring of course Flabba Holt on bass, Tee Bird on keyboards, Dwight Pinkney on guitar, and Sky Juice on percussion-in short, the full Roots Radics line-up.As usual, Skelly, Wiss, and Apple take turns singing lead while the other two enhance the vocals with high-pitched melodic harmonies.In a Roots Rock Reggae vein, this album is a cornerstone of the group's discography, which we are pleased to present to you remastered, with a sound it had never been given before.
