A spellbinding and transportive reimagining of works from across Annahstasia's three releases to date: Tether, Surface Tension, and Revival. Her ensemble summoned orchestral grandeur from impressionistic arrangements, conducted by her exquisite voice, one of the most soulful and expressive of our generation. The body of music feels at once from another time and timeless. Her expansive vocal spans breathy whisper to heartbreaking wail, confronting the audience with a waterfall of emotions...mournful, yearning, considerate, scornful, demanding, empathic, full of love.At times we are witness to a channel, at others led into her world, as through two goosebump-inducing chants. On Believer we repeated her refrain, ‘cause I get lonely, you get lonely too, ‘cause I get lonely, can I be lonely here with you?’, until it was impossible to feel alone. The concert was recorded at Glasshaus in Brooklyn, New York on September 20, 2025 for a studio audience of 100 guests. Pressed on 140g black vinyl.

Recorded with producer Phil Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, Laura Veirs) at his Sugar Mountain studio, alongside an all-star cast of musicians, Billie Marten's fifth studio album, Dog Eared, is a warm, rich and textured record that bristles with confidence and self-belief, with Billie already approaching the prolificacy of a “lifer” with so much life left to live. Hurts Like Hell is Charlotte Cornfield's sixth album, the first she's recorded since the birth of her daughter, an inflection point for her as a person and an artist. The album's recurrent themes of personal growth and renewal, of love's perseverance through difficulty and shame and awkwardness, are rooted there. "That experience has pulled me out of myself and given me a different outlook on things," she says. "The vulnerability and fragility and wildness of it all has made me less focused on self, more zoomed out." Hurts Like Hell is the most open-hearted, full-voiced album of her career, and also her most collaborative. Decamping to Philip Weinrobe's Sugar Mountain studio in Brooklyn, Cornfield was joined by a full backing band, including Palehound's El Kempner, Lake Street Dive's Bridget Kearney, Adam Brisbin, and Sean Mullins, with key contributions by Núria Graham, and Daniel Pencer. Cornfield then recruited Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson and Maia Friedman to sing on the album. The fruits of this process are immediately apparent on lead single "Hurts Like Hell," a country-saturated yearner Cornfield calls "a shy people love story," the band swelling to embrace Cornfield's idiosyncratic flow as if to cradle her protagonist's heart. That the song is so vulnerable, so lived-in, is a matter of trust between Cornfield and her bandmates, in each other and of their gut. Their sound lands somewhere between Nashville Skyline and Harvest; a warm, richly-textured response to her bruised-but-seeking call. Much of Hurts Like Hell's magic happens in the space Cornfield makes for harmony. Taken up by Meek or Hutson, characters are sung into life as if with a brushstroke. When joined by Kempner or Kearney, it's a dazzling facet of the natural, lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry of her band. On "Kitchen," Friedman mirrors Cornfield's sense of astonishment at finding herself in love, rendering the emotion at it's ethereal peak. On "Living With It," she's joined by Feist, who Cornfield connected through a group chat for mothers who are touring musicians. Cornfield has arrived at this album bearing both scars from her past and hope for the future. Standing outside of herself and taking stock of what she wanted her music to be in the wake of childbirth, she was brave enough to ask for space, for time, and for help from places and people familiar and unexpected - a group chat, songwriters she was fans of but wasn't acquainted with, friends whose long-forgotten song leant her the chorus for a new one. Every "yes," every voice memo, every shared file, every open door leading to this moment in Charlotte Cornfield's career. Call that moment what you will - an expansion, a rebirth, a breakthrough - Hurts Like Hell is big enough to meet it and has lost none of Cornfield's charm, wit, or urgency in the offing, at once a reaffirmation of her standing among the great singer-songwriters of her generation and the first articulation of her future, whatever uncertainty and love it may bring.

Widely hailed as one of the greatest folk albums ever recorded (fRoots Album Of The Decade 1980s), Dick Gaughan's Handful of Earth returns in a stunning new heavyweight LP reissue - First released in 1981, the album captured Gaughan at the height of his powers, blending traditional Scottish and Irish songs with politically charged originals and his unmistakable open-tuned guitar style. With the reissue, listeners have the opportunity to rediscover this landmark album's raw emotional power, and the bite of songs like "The World Turned Upside Down" and "Workers' Song". The reissue presents the album not just as a historical artefact, but as a living work still resonant in a time of social struggle, economic uncertainty and devolved national identities. Gaughan's combination of authenticity and activism remains compelling, and this reissue will allow both longtime fans and new listeners to experience the record in it's best possible form."Folk Album of the Year" - Melody Maker"Album of the Decade." - fRoots"By turns defiant, inspired, hopeful and downright angry, this is a genuine benchmark album, adorned by Gaughan's passionate and fearsome guitar." - HMV Choice : All time classic album.

Elizabeth Ziman is the singer-songwriter and creative force behind Elizabeth and The Catapult, known for her piano-driven compositions, sharp emotional insight, and disarming honesty, and who has built a career on songs that balance wit and vulnerability with striking precision. She's toured with the likes of Sara Bareillesand Kishi Bash i ; collaborated with with Esperanza Spalding, Gillian Welch, Blake Mills and Ben Folds; scored, with Paul Brill; and her songs have been featured innational television campaigns for Google, Amazon, Sky TV, and So You Think You Can Dance.Responsible Friend is an album about the ways in which we show up for one another. What does it mean to be a responsible friend to be there for someone you lovewithout trying to save them? The first lesson I learned about caregiving, says Elizabeth, is that I need to put on my own oxygen mask before I can help anyoneelse. The next lesson (and the one you won't find in an airline seat-back) was that no matter how much I wanted to, I couldn't take away anyones pain. I wasntthere to fix anyone. I just had to accept them on their own terms. That philosophy runs throughout the album, with songs about a family members passing, a friendliving with long COVID, and the shared burden of a society steeped in conflict and injustice. I realized that everyone I knew, including myself, was being asked toprocess an enormous amount of grief at an alarming pace, she says. Writing these songs became my way to surrender to those experiences and slow down enough tobe fully present for the people in my life. Some of the songs on Responsible Friend are joyful dedications; others feel more like letters Elizabeth wasnt sure she wanted to send. Taken together, it's a recordabout slowing down in a world that keeps accelerating. It's a commitment to friends, family, and self, at a time when everyone seems to be carrying more than they canreasonably hold. With Responsible Friend, Elizabeth Ziman delivers a record that feels both intimate and expansive, an unflinching reflection on care, grief, and thestuff it takes to keep showing up.

Originally released in 2020, Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ichiko Aoba's seventh studio album, Windswept Adan, was a critically acclaimed masterpiece that firmly established her on the global stage. Marking a significant departure from her earlier, more solitary works, Aoba collaborated with composer Taro Umebayashi to craft a mesmerising and richly imaginative concept album that moves fluidly between ambient psych-folk, chamber classical, and jazz-inflected composition. Conceived as the soundtrack to an imaginary film, Windswept Adan follows a young girl exiled from her homeland to the mythic island of Adan - a lush, otherworldly place filled with strange creatures, abundant flora and fauna, and no spoken language. It's orchestral textures and vivid sound design create an immersive, cinematic world. The iconic cover art reflects the album's intricate world-building, brought to life by creative director Kodai Kobayashi following extensive research trips to the southern islands of Japan. This long-awaited reissue is pressed on black eco-mix vinyl, in an effort to be as sustainable as possible.

How does an artist follow a critically-acclaimed breakthrough record like Southeastern? For Jason Isbell, the answer was Something More Than Free. With songs like "24 Frames," "Flagship," and "Children of Children," the 2015 album found Isbell tackling the subjects he knows best: the dignity of work, the difficulty of love, the friction between the present and the past. Something More Than Free further established the North Alabama native as a bonafide songwriter, and also netted him his first two Grammy Awards, for Americana Album of the Year, and for American Roots Song of the Year ("24 Frames.")
10 years later, Something More Than Free has been re-mixed by the legendary Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty), breathing new life into these now classic songs in the Isbell canon. And as a cherry on top, the man has broken his normal rule and included a b-side here. "Should I Go Missing" is a bluesy jammer highlighted by Isbell's slide guitar playing. If we're lucky, it will become a staple at his upcoming live shows.

Where Jose Gonzalez’s previous record Local Valley turned inward toward place, language, and personal reflection, Against the Dying of the Light widens its gaze, becoming an urgent call to preserve the light of humanity with all its flaws, at a moment when technology increasingly shapes how we think, feel, and relate to one another.Across the album, Gonzalez works within a deliberately minimal framework, pushing his familiar palette to new heights through subtle variation, restraint, and detail. Each song unfolds with its own distinct character, proving how much emotional and musical range can be achieved within self-imposed limitations. Written in English, Swedish, and Spanish, the record reflects his Swedish-Argentine roots and frames its humanist message as a global one rather than a purely personal or political statement.Jose Gonzalez is one of the most quietly influential artists of our generation. When Belfast songwriter Joshua Burnside began writing 'It's Not Going to Be Okay', he wasn't chasing a concept. He was trying to survive. The album was born from loss, written in the quiet aftermath of his closest friend Dean Jendoubi's passing. In that stillness, Burnside stripped everything back. Gone were the dense textures and surreal folk tales; what remained were bare, trembling songs that told the truth.

Recorded in New Orleans, 'Goodbye Blues' marks the emergence of a songwriting talent with power comparable to that of Blaze Foley or Townes Van Zandt. Time spent drifting from the northwest to Mexico to New Orleans and now to Montana has kept her off of the industry's radar until recently. Some of the richest music is also the hardest to categorise. With their fifth full-length "Acou", Moon Far Away embark on a musical exploration of the magical nature of sound. The band from the sub-arctic city of Arkhangelsk in Russia's north is studying the mythological cycle of the universe by assigning certain sounds and musical styles that range from the archaic and folklore to liturgical, classical, and even experimental music to each stage of it's existence. Moon Far Away were inspired by the finding that the world begins and ends in many ancient legends with a sound - from the utterance of a word to actual music or even the big bang of science. On "Acou", which means 'listen!' in Greek, the word (lógos) and music (mousike) are as fundamental to the fabric of the universe as the classical elements of earth, fire, water, and air. Moon Far Away have occasionally been referred to as "the heart of Russian gothic folk" or "The Russian Dead Can Dance", which are notions that still ring true regarding "Acou". Their music appears to be both light and even dreamy on the surface, yet at the same time it comes with a dignity, gravitas and passionate seriousness that set these songs apart from simple pop; despite sounding captivating and melodic. With "Acou", Moon Far Away present their richest and most complete album so far that will find old and new friends from a wide range of stylistic preferences that certainly include fans of DEAD CAN DANCE, ALCEST, WARDRUNA, and many others - although the unique band from Russia's North does sound different from all of those mentioned above. There is only one way to find out: "Acou"! Listen!

Lavender Eco-Mix Vinyl. Every mother has a unique story. One thing is true for every mother, though: There's no deadline quite like a pregnancy. Award-winning Toronto singer-songwriter Abigail Lapell was pregnant with her first child when she booked studio time on Vancouver Island to make an album about motherhood. The nine songs on Shadow Child " one for each month of gestation " had to be ready before then, and her return flight was booked on the last day she could safely fly in her third trimester. Working with producer Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain), Lapell finished her songs in the studio and on rural walks beside the Pacific Ocean. She enlisted some of her favourite singers, all British Columbians, all mothers: Frazey Ford, Jill Barber, Pharis Romero. They're all people with unique, distinctive voices,? she says, which is what I'm drawn to.? Musically, Lapell was looking for a stark, acoustic sound, as opposed to 2024's Juno Award-nominated Anniversary (recorded in Niagara with Great Lake Swimmers' Tony Dekker) and 2022's acclaimed Stolen Time (recorded in Montreal with Howard Bilerman, featuring E Street Band saxophonist Jake Clemons).Lapell's road to motherhood was fraught, involving years of IVF and a 2023 miscarriage " that she experienced on stage while on tour. (She finished her set.) Her son was born in November 2024. The song cycle of Shadow Child covers joy and loss, using metaphors from Maritime tragedy, little cannibals,? reproductive health, acquiring language, and lives altered by the arrival of a newborn. The title track refers to ultrasound imaging of a liminal person that doesn't quite exist yet,? says Lapell. Their status is ontologically blurry.?Shadow Child arrives May 8 " Mother's Day weekend - on CD, Digital, and Lavender vinyl LP. Singles Hazel,? Shadow Child?, and So Long? roll out starting in January.
