Alana Springsteen releases her sophomore album, I HOPE THIS HELPS, available on limited edition double iridescent blue vinyl. The 16-track project is a deeply personal account of self-reclamation tracing Alana’s journey through identity, generational trauma, faith, and the process of choosing herself in real time. Rather than framing healing as a destination, the album documents the journey of transformation where old narratives are being unlearned and self-compassion becomes an act of defiance. At its core, the album’s title reflects its broader intention: to offer connection, understanding and a sense of solidarity to anyone on a similar path.Key moments include “note to self” “black sheep” and “same God.”

American Aquariums' new record, New Ways To Lose, was brought to life at the historic Sunset Sound Recordings alongside the inimitable Shooter Jennings. The project finds the band returning to a cornerstone of their sound, delivering a bold, rock ’n’ roll album that reminisces their critically acclaimed Burn.Flicker.Die. With New Ways To Lose, that same sense of urgency and evolution returns, sharper and more self-assured than ever. Across its ten tracks, New Ways To Lose captures the peak of Barham's songwriting: vivid storytelling, emotional precision, and a keen eye for the unfiltered experience of being human. The album balances the pulse of a live performance with tracks like "History Repeats Itself," and the intimate closeness of "Favorite Hello." How do we sit in the unrest of the world without jumping to conclusions on how to fix it?That is one of the themes behind Amy Grant's new single and opening track, “The 6th Of January (Yasgur’s Farm)” from her upcoming album The Me That Remains. While the title could indicate a stance on the political spectrum, it is quite the opposite. The song asks the question, haven't we all lost our way? With references to the idealistic era of Woodstock and the hope for something better, the song is more of a question than a commentary. Says Amy, “We operate in the world around us and sometimes neglect the power of what we have in our choices and how those choices affect the world around us”.Sonically, the song is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, yet the lyric and message is timeless.“I want to be present for what emerges in my time”, says Amy,“ and the song observes life and the unrest many of us feel yet knowing we areshaping the world around us daily. Maybe life and problem solving is more of ‘we’ than ‘me’”.The song’s lyrics point to the fact that all of us still have a ways to go in solving the unrest but you have to sit in it, see another’s lens of how they perceive the world, and know that we are stronger as ‘we’.With references to Woodstock, Harper’s Ferry and John Lennon, the song invokes a conversation that all is not lost, but if we can choose to look through a lens other than just our own, maybe there is hope to come together and find the way forward through the unrest.

Born from childhood memories of Ford F150 rides and his mother's traveling karaoke business, Andrew Sa's debut album, American Rough, represents the culmination of a lifelong obsession with the power of the human voice. After honing his craft in Chicago's independent music scene and the campy, theatrical world of the Cosmic Country Showcase, Sa collaborated with producer H.C. McEntire to bridge the gap between mid-century country-pop and contemporary indie-folk. The record is a sonic tapestry woven with pedal steel, jaunty horns, and Sa's signature "siren-like" croon, drawing inspiration from titans like Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison while being deeply informed by the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud and Ocean Vuong. More than just a genre exercise, American Rough serves as a cinematic exploration of queer intimacy and the complexities of masculinity. Sa courageously subverts the heteronormative traditions of country music, reimagining the genre through the lens of gay desire to create a space where hard bodies find each other in the dark and soften. The album invites listeners into a world of vulnerable characters and "mean handsome" figures. By centering beauty and connection, Sa tethers himself to a long-forgotten lineage of men singing about their hearts, offering a vision of manhood that is as gentle as it is resilient.

On her fifth studio album, Wild, Grand Ole Opry Member and GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM Award-winning singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde uncovers the deepest layers of her lived experience, raw, honest, and unvarnished like never before. From the grit and grind of growing up in the shadow of Arkansas's Ozark Mountains, to the enduring echo of her fundamentalist upbringing; the fallout of drinking too much and hard-won reckoning that led her to sobriety to the trauma passed down through her lineage. When matched with McBryde's thrilling collision of timeless country and blistering rock & roll, the result is equal parts daring autobiography and courageous reclamation of her most untamed nature.Produced by Lindeville collaborator and producer John Osborne (Brothers Osborne) and recorded with her live band, Wild traces a captivating narrative that culminates in the moment just before McBryde quit drinking. "When people hear this record, I hope it wakes up the part of them that I'm singing about-the part that still believes in those unrealized dreams and untaken risks," says McBryde. "I believe that wild little kid is still alive inside of all of us, and that's the version of everyone that I want to sing to."ASHLEY MCBRYDE / WILD UPC: 093624824855Label: Warner NashvilleRelease Date: 5.8.26Format: Vinyl
Ben Chapman is a road warrior who has spent the previous three years in a whirlwind of activity — writing songs for friends like Hayes Carll, Brent Cobb, and Marcus King; making his Grand Ole Opry debut; and releasing three acclaimed albums of country-fried funky-tonk, but nothing could have prepared him for what 2025 would bring him. His new record 'Feet on Fire' captures that period of wild transition, with songs inspired by Chapman's marriage to fellow songwriter Meg McRee and the arrival of the couple's first child. On songs like the guitar-driven title track, Chapman mixes Pink Floyd atmosphere with Crazy Horse crunch, showcasing the full spread of his musical influences. Elsewhere, he tips his hat to his southern roots with the laidback, loping "Out in the Country" and the Stax-sized soul ballad "Missing You." Produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Anderson East, Feet on Fire captures Ben Chapman as we've never heard him before: his back against the wall and his heart full, determined not only to meet the challenges up ahead, but to write about the process, too.

Grounded in a season of life that has been earned rather than borrowed, Benjamin Tod speaks with the ease of someone no longer running from himself. There is joy now - a steadiness that comes from commitment. With the recent arrival of his son and a deep well of new music on the horizon, Tod is firmly rooted in both purpose and possibility. That clarity is evident in Vengeance and Grace, the Lost Dog Street Band frontman's forthcoming and most expansive solo album to date. Conceived as a "dual-version" release, the project presents two parallel worlds: (Alone) is a stripped solo-acoustic version, along with its full band counterpart. Together, the two versions form the full range of what Tod is capable of: restraint on one side, force on the other. At the core of Tod's writing is a simple conviction: music should serve something larger than the moment. His writing speaks to mind, body, and soul, shaped by faith, discipline, and a hard-earned understanding of consequence. The darkness that once defined him is neither denied nor indulged. It is understood and no longer in control. Today, Tod moves with a sense of calm that wasn't always there. He is grateful, settled, and intentional, continuing to follow the compass that's guided him from the beginning. Rooted in traditional country and folk, his work stands firmly in the modern music landscape, shaped by experience, restraint, and the life he's built around it.

Love At The End Of The World sees Bill LaBounty return in a format that feels long overdue. With around 107,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and more than 8.5 million streams on one standout track, LaBounty's catalog continues to find listeners quietly, without heavy platform visibility or a verified artist presence. His audience remains steady, driven by long-term discovery rather than short-term hype.Originally released in 2014, following Into Something Blue, the album sits firmly within LaBounty's signature blend of soft rock and country-leaning songwriting. Since it's release, the album has largely been experienced through digital listening, while physical editions remained absent from it's initial lifecycle. This vinyl release is not positioned as a mass-market move, but as a focused offering for collectors and dedicated listeners. It reframes Love At The End Of The World as a long-form listening experience and gives the record a physical presence it never fully had at release. In a catalog that continues to age well, the vinyl edition functions as both a reintroduction and a preservation of an album that has remained understated but enduring.

For years Cactus Lee has quietly made records at a relentless pace, plugging along and playing out at local honky tonks in and around his hometown of Austin, Texas. What began as a home recording project for songwriter Kevin Dehan in 2019 quickly became a group with rotating members and pick-up bands along the way. The project has played New York and Los Angeles multiple times, as well as a Chicago residency as part of the Cosmic Country showcase. The new album, Lee's Dream will be released on vinyl February 21 with a special album release show in London, UK at The Lexington. A digital and retail release will follow on April 10, 2026.The album, his second for Western Vinyl, was conceived while on a monthlong solo tour. He stopped at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, where he saw a replica of Guy Clark's basement room."This was the place where he smoked cigarettes, repaired guitars, and recorded songs. There's a wall of cassettes on one side and on the other a guitar hangs with a piece of paper taped on that says 'EASY MONEY.' That stuck out to me as I continued on my travels and became the first song I wrote for this record."The shows on that tour saw Dehan playing to new faces every night in small cities in the Midwest and the South, writing songs in the van en route to the next one."When I got back things in my home life with my family started to get turbulent. It caused me to seriously question whether or not I should be out on the road as much.""I took a little time off. I was able to write, which helped me cope with some serious life events. Music is very important to me, but my family will always come first. My wife and daughter."Dehan took those songs to Billy Horton's Fort Horton Studios in Wyldwood, Texas to record. Similar to his work with Charley Crockett and Theo Lawrence, Horton pushed Dehan toward classic country songs and production choices."Billy has been making classic records out at his studio for a long time, " shares Dehan. "I went in and he started giving me lists of artists who either I reminded him of or who he thought I should push toward in the process of making this album. John D. Loudermilk, George Hamilton IV, Glen Campbell and early Gordon Lightfoot were artists that Billy put on a playlist for me to listen to."Horton's nostalgic taste leans heavily on the Sun Records era of recording. He pushed Dehan to think as a solo artist bringing songs into the studio for a band to pick up and flesh out, a thought not wholly unfamiliar to his home recording roots. Dehan took those initial recording sessions with Horton home to put the finishing touches on, with bass and piano being recorded by Jack Montesinos and Joe Roddy from the Point, and Lindsey Verrill of Little Mazarn lending flute and cello. The album feels communal, lived-in, joyous, and melancholy.

Caleb Caudle’s body of work is shaped from the ground up. His artistry has emerged through endurance and the steady momentum of a life in motion, carrying him from small stages in the North Carolina foothills he calls home, all the way to the Grand Ole Opry.
Now, Caudle is entering a pivotal chapter - one of a profound culmination where life and art converge in powerful ways. The recent discovery that he and his wife are going to be first-time parents has added a new perspective, full of the responsibility and wonder that welcoming a child into the world brings.
On his new album, Heavy Thrill, this personal evolution mirrors his artistic journey. He takes full creative control, self-producing for the first time while recording at the storied Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tenn., where reverence for tradition meets his singular artistic vision.
“For this record, I wanted to focus on embracing the patina of life,” says Caudle. “Our plans rarely shake out the way we want them to. This record is about doing the most with what you’re given and weathering the storms.”
With the release of this album, Caudle is also launching his own label, aptly named “Handplow Records,” for the steel handplow painted a rusty red that sits in his great uncle’s yard, across the street from his home.
The humble tool was used for generations of tobacco farming in Caudle’s family, its wooden handles worn smooth by years of use stretching back to his great-grandfather. It represents the toil and dedication it takes to do things the hard way - and the sweetness that can yield.

Chris Acker's latest collection of songs, Famous Lunch, is in his words, a "growing pains album." When writing the record, the New Orleans' based folk musician found himself hunting for a voice that wasn't just an imitation of the one he'd been using on the last 30 songs he'd made. "At the same time, I worked hard to find a certain voice for myself over the previous 3 records and I didn't want to abandon that."While the album finds him continuing to transcribe life's fleeting and provocative banalities with refreshing grace, the songs on Famous Lunch are intentionally more absurd, stylizing his lyricism as both poetic and disarming simultaneously- commencing with "Sh*t Surprise"-an earworm with a vernacular that stays true to it's title. Inspired by George Saunders and Sasha Pearl (and wanting to make a song that sounds like Eagles saying the word "sh*t" over and over), "Sh*t Surprise" is the most Chris Acker song possible, in that it's earnestness arrives in spades and comes varnished with a one-of-a-kind, spectacular gnarliness. "We'd match our breath in the upstairs room and we'd hold together 'til I smelled like you," Acker sings, before nose-diving into that unforgettable chorus about stepping in a smelly, disgusting pile of sh*t.More than anything else, Famous Lunch finds Chris Acker at his most sentimental and grateful, as he sings about Bunn coffee machines, gas pumps smelling like "the underside of a fingernail" in August, "10-inching" bread, stealing country club lawn-mower motors, father-son fables, impatient buffet lines, and a broom that "hasn't been used since the last time I used it." Acker's eye for detail remains, and his lexicon includes phrasings that spin out like a hypnotic wash cycle. Seeing the world through his eyes, language remains something worth falling into-growing pains and all.

This album documents me trying to make sense of major changes in my life - the end of an era (the 2003 breakup of Say ZuZu) and the start of an era (I got married, moved from a small town to the city, had two kids, and started a new career as an ethnomusicologist all during the time it took to complete this record). The album also finds me searching for my own musical voice outside of Say ZuZu. I wanted a sound built around an acoustic guitar, somewhere between Neil Young's "Out On The Weekend" and Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried." It was a time where my life deviated from the script that I thought had been written for me. I was, as the song says, happy and confused. This record helped me to sort out the confusion.

In South Louisiana, Clifton Chenier (1925-1987) grew up hearing his father play a style of music known as La La at house dances held in Black French Creole communities. It had a percussive and syncopated sound, played in spare combinations of an accordion and a washboard used to scrub out a rhythm. After picking up accordion as a curious teenager, Chenier soon brought into this sound the rhythm and blues that dominated radios and jukeboxes, crafting a new style that would be called zydeco. In the 1950s, he recorded for Elko, Specialty, and Chess, and joined national package show tours with stars like Little Richard and Etta James. A decade later, Chenier was quietly settled in Houston, the big stages seemingly behind him. But one rainy Saturday night at a Houston neighborhood bar, Chenier's cousin Lightning Hopkins introduced him to Chris Strachwitz of Arhoolie Records, where zydeco and Clifton Chenier would find a new home and champion. King of Louisiana Blues and Zydeco is a 4 CD/6 LP retrospective box set assembled in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Chenier's birth. The set features a chronology of Chenier's landmark work with Arhoolie and other labels, alongside a healthy dose of previously unissued gems. The 160-page book includes photos, posters, and other graphic artifacts from the Strachwitz Collection and deeply researched liner note essays by Grammy award-winning writer Adam Machado, public folklorist and radio host Nick Spitzer and longtime Louisiana journalist Herman Fusilier, along with a moving personal remembrance by Clifton's son, Zydeco musician C.J. Chenier. The set is the first release on Arhoolie since the label became a part of Smithsonian Folkways. With music and storytelling and abundant visual imagery, this set demonstrates Clifton Chenier's life as a transformative artist - from his earliest days practicing in the barn back home, to his reign as the undisputed King of Zydeco.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2019 release. Johnson's introductory Warner project, Ain't Nothin' to It, ups the ante. After writing the bulk of his previous material, he put out word in Nashville that he was open to songs from other sources, and the results were astonishing. A-list writers - including Chris Stapleton, Radney Foster and Brothers Osborne guitarist John Osborne - came to the table with songs that suited Johnson's life and disposition. Music fans who are just now coming to the table will get a quick understanding of Johnson, from the rowdy troublemaker in the swampy "Doubt Me Now" to the devoted family man in the title track to the self-penned ex-bull rider in "Dear Rodeo" to the devoted Christian in "His Name Is Jesus."Johnson wears his musical influences on his sleeve - referencing George Strait in "When Cowboys Were King, " Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw in "Y'all People" and Johnny Cash, Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen in "Monday Morning Merle." Two choice covers further meld his personality with his musical taste. "Husbands and Wives, " a song that recognizes the day-to-day difficulties of holding a marriage together, is Johnson's way of tipping a hat to one of country's ultimate songwriters, the late Roger Miller. And "Long Haired Country Boy" has The Cody Johnson Band playing up his rebel side with a song established by The Charlie Daniels Band (yes, that's the CJB covering the CDB). But Johnson's version is filtered through the grizzly tone of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr. And Brantley Gilbert.

IMAGINARY APPALACHIA Colter Wall - colter-wall-imaginary-appalachiaOnce again the great frozen north has birthed an artist that is more gifted in the native tongue of the American South and West than many of the music's indigenous-dwelling performers. But when you're origination point is a remote location by the name of "Swift Current" and is surrounded by the wild prarie of Saskatchewan, your claim to the music of the country is as valid as anyone's, if not more.
