Vinyl LP pressing. Step into the swampy, soulful world of New Orleans legend Clarence "Frogman" Henry. This essential LP is a powerful showcase of the unique vocal talent that made him a star, featuring his signature hit "Ain't Got No Home", a track that captures his famous vocal switches from a frog-like croak to his smooth baritone. The collection also includes his other chart-topping classics, such as the heartfelt "(I Don't Know Why) But I Do" and the timeless pop standard "You Always Hurt The One You Love". This album is a testament to the versatility of one of music's most charming and original voices. It delves deeper into his catalogue, revealing a rich tapestry of rhythm and blues and pop. Experience the heartbreak in tracks like "Troubles, Troubles", "Lonely Tramp", and "Lost Without You". At the heart of Home Safe is a question Crayon posed to his collaborators: "What does home mean to you?" The answer is heard across a stellar line-up of voices, including anaiis, Rhye, ELIZA, Yamê, Arthur Teboul (Feu! Chatterton), JPL (Tora), and painter-turned-singer Lossapardo, each contributing their unique perspective to this evocative sonic world.A central figure in the Parisian music scene and a trusted producer for French rappers like Josman, Dinos, and Prince Waly, Crayon now steps into the spotlight with a deeply personal, genre-defying, communal solo project. Home Safe traverses soul, folk, jazz, hip-hop, and electronic landscapes, drawing inspiration from his roots, community, and the complex idea of home.Home Safe invites listeners into a richly layered world where sound, image, and emotion intertwine. Limited vinyl LP pressing. Dan Penn has curated this new collection of lost gems from his own songwriting sessions. Co-writer of such classic Country, Soul and Pop classics such as "Do Right Woman," "Cry Like a Baby," "I'm Your Puppet," "Out of Left Field," and "Dark End of The Street," Dan Penn spends his time these days retrieving, dusting off, and occasionally releasing lost gems from his many songwriting sessions. Having made only a handful of albums over the course of his long career, his demo session recordings have become legendary primarily because of the versatility and range of his voice, and it's ability to sell a song. They have long been sought after by enthusiasts and collectors, and more and more of these tracks have seen the light of day over the past decade. This new compilation, curated by Penn himself, begins with the title track, "Smoke Filled Room," an unheard signature classic which could have been written in the heyday of Memphis and Muscle Shoals, before it runs the table from straight up southern gospel to blues and power ballads. Through it all, as always, Penn's voice delivers-and how.

We could expound upon the history of this 1969 release on the Bethlehem label, but perhaps it's best to let the producer of the album do it. You might have heard of him-THE GODFATHER OF SOUL, JAMES BROWN! Here are his words from the back cover: "Between my concerts, one-nighters, and working with people in the poverty and 'Stay in School' programs, I find time to fly into Cincinnati to record - and for three years now everybody's been hippin me to dig the Dee Felice Trio. Last fall my production manager Bud Hobgood put me in a car, between sessions and between sessions we ended up at the Living Room Supper Club where the Trio was playing. After listening to the first set, I knew I had to record an album of standards with this trio backing me up, and I wasted no time in signing them to a contract - on the spot." So not only did the Dee Felice Trio back James Brown on his 1969 King release Gettin' Down to It, but also the Godfather turned around and produced the Trio's In Heat for Bethlehem. We will once again cede the floor to Mr. Brown: "The music in this album is a 'mixed bag,' whether your 'Stroke' is Soul, Rock, Blues, Folk or Bossa Nova -it's here to hear AND ALL WITH AN UNDERLYING Jazz Beat." We've remastered In Heat for this reissue-like James says, "Just put the record on the box, turn up volume and Dig, Baby Dig."

Ride With Pride So what is Sweet Soul? Maybe the sweet spot between lowrider and symphonic soul? Lush yet vibrant pro- duction, seemingly wrapped in audible silk, sure to give every listener pause. Either way, if one thing is certain, it's purpose stays perfectly clear. Pleasure, low and slow, bajito y suavecito. Every kiss begins with soul, or sweet soul for low rides. Sweet soul is the predecessor to what we now call modern soul. It came into it's own in the late '60s and '70s, alongside-but apart from-the grittier, funk-driven soul dominating the airwaves. Where that music pushed hard rhythms and raw emotion, sweet soul softened the edges. It favored melody, warmth, and Polish, giving it a calm, lush feel that made it easy to return to, and easy to love, even de- cades later.

Released in 1970, Funkadelic's self-titled debut was a radical collision of psychedelic rock, gospel, blues, and soul - a chaotic, genre-defying statement that redefined the possibilities of Black music. Where Motown aimed for Polish and crossover appeal, Funkadelic dove headfirst into distortion, improvisation, and spiritual ambiguity, offering a sound as gritty and unpredictable as the era itself. Backed by a ferocious young band - including Eddie Hazel, Billy Bass Nelson, Tawl Ross, Tiki Fulwood, and Mickey Atkins - the album rejected convention in favor of raw groove and existential noise. Tracks like "I Got a Thing..." and "What Is Soul" pulse with menace and joy, bookended by surreal monologues that echo both street philosophy and space-age gospel. As part of Org Music's Westbound Records reissue series, this edition restores the album's full impact across multiple formats. The deluxe double LP, mastered at 45RPM directly from tape by Dave Gardner at DSG Mastering, offers the highest fidelity to date. Gardner and restoration specialist Catherine Vericolli archived and restored the original master tapes at 54 Sound Studios in Ferndale, Michigan, with assistance from in-house engineer Nick King. A single LP edition, cut from high-resolution tape transfers, is also available, alongside CD, cassette, and digital formats. A sonic revolution in it's time and a lasting influence ever since, Funkadelic remains a groundbreaking testament to music without rules and freedom without limits.

True to it's name, Extraordinary, Gareth Donkin's second album widens the scale of his virtuosic soul-pop songcraft not just on a sonic level, but in a profoundly personal way. A step wiser and more confident, the London-based singer-songwriter and producer let's go of past constructs to celebrate the present tense with his most sophisticated, vast, and dazzling work to date, nodding to disco, R&B, and funk greats with playful charisma and modern sheen. He says, "Extraordinary is about taking ownership of your life, embracing new experiences and adventure."Donkin's 2023 breakthrough debut, Welcome Home, resonated from BBC Radio to Billboard ("a soul-savant"), and brought him to US stages for the first time, and opened the door to working with a few of his heroes, including a collaborative role on the latest de la Soul record. Yet the season was marked by setbacks and heartbreak. First, he reached for fantasy with the cathartic Suite Escape EP. Then, in a clearer headspace, he enlisted a dream ensemble to realize his next vision, including ESME, Kiefer, UHMEER, Shaan Ramaprasad, and Disclosure's Howard Lawrence.Donkin's made a name for himself as an old soul, one-man-band in the ilk of Prince and Stevie Wonder, often seen on socials assembling songs with mystifying ease. Like past work, Extraordinary captures this undeniable talent and charm. What sets the record apart is the expanse in which these virtues shine. "It just sounds bigger, more current," he adds. From unifying anthems to drama-shedding declarations, Donkin unlocks the kind of optimism that can only come from hard work on yourself.

Vinyl LP pressing. A giant of the R&B and pop scenes in the 1950s and 60s, Roy Hamilton's nickname "The Golden Boy of Song" was richly deserved. A mentor to Elvis Presley, and the only act Jerry Lee Lewis never wanted to follow on stage, Hamilton's beautiful baritone voice was carefully honed and crafted. His versions of pop standards, like "You'll Never Walk Alone", and "Unchained Melody" have not only stood the test of time, they have become the benchmarks of how ballads should be sung. The fact that Hamilton's music is rarely heard today is a tragedy and underlines the need for a collection of this gifted performer's music. Beyonce clearly felt the same way, having sampled Hamilton's "Don't Let Go" on the prelude to "Texas Hold 'Em" on her "Cowboy Carter" album. For decades his family has lobbied to have Hamilton inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Listen to this fabulous collection, and you will see why he deserves wider recognition as we take in "You'll Never Walk Alone", "Ebb Tide", "Unchained Melody", "Everybody's Got A home", "Pledging My Love" and "You Can Have Her" along with many more
