It was then that Ron's reputation as a "singer's singer" began to grow beyond the confines of the local scene. After performing for a few years on the Dynamic Superiors live shows, Queen was approached by Major Harris, who recruited him to sing in his band and he toured with Harris for nearly three years, further establishing his reputation. Because of his exceptional talent, he rarely found himself with any down time. Promise is the second studio album by English band Sade, first released in the United Kingdom on 4 November 1985 by Epic Records and in the United States on 15 November 1985 by Portrait Records. In 1984 the band released their debut album Diamond Life, the album became highly successful selling six million copies, and became the best-selling debut by a British female vocalist. Following the release of the album the band began planning it's follow up, recording for Promise began in February and lasted until August 1985, the band enlisted the same team of producers they worked with on their debut, including Robin Millar, Mike Pela, Ben Rogan and lead singer Sade Adu. 2017 debut album from the neo-soul singer/songwriter. In October 2012, SZA self-released an EP titled See. SZA. Run, which she then followed up with her second EP, titled S, in October 2013. In July 2013, it was revealed that she had signed to the hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment, through which she released Z, her third EP and first retail release, in April 2014. SZA's music is described as alternative R&B, with elements of soul, hip hop, minimalist R&B, cloud rap, ethereal R&B, witch house and chillwave. Rowe's lyrics are described as "unravelling", that revolve around themes of sexuality, nostalgia, and abandonment. Rowe cites a variety of artists as influences including Billie Holiday, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Björk, Jamiroquai, and Wu-Tang Clan.
