We're stoked to finally be able to announce the release of "Ulcers In The Flesh Of Thought" - our first release since transitioning from an online project to a full touring band. We're also extremely proud and excited to be working with Unique Leader Records for this release, they're a label that has been a cornerstone of the death metal scene for decades so to be able to release this album with them is a dream come true. These new songs dig deep into themes of mental health and the darker corners of the human mind, something all of us in the band have dealt with throughout our lives. This release represents a new chapter for Guttural Slug, and we can't wait to share it with our fans and bring it's intensity to the stage.

THE BAND'S FIRST ALBUM WITH NICK HEYWARD IN 44 YEARS!The original chapter of Haircut 100 beamed briefly yet brightly. They achieved the kind of success that they could have only dreamed of: four UK Top 10 hits, all of which were definitive '80s classics - 'Love Plus One', 'Fantastic Day, 'Favourite Shirts (Boys Meets Girl)' and 'Nobody's Fool' - followed by a debut album, 'Pelican West, which peaked at #2 during an eleven week run in the Top 10, in the process reaching Platinum status. That was 42 years ago. But now after a lengthy absence, Haircut 100 are back: fueled by the power of friendship, a love of adventure, and the simple joy of seeing wherever their unexpected next chapter will take them. Their return now gathers pace after releasing their first new music in 40 years and announcing new album 'Boxing The Compass'.Officially, the band's third album (a second record, minus Nick, 'Paint and Paint' released in 1984). A recognizably Haircut 100, but also far beyond a simple '80s throwback. With ideas emerging rapidly and spontaneously, colored by all of the influences that have emerged since the first time around, as well as being informed by the enthusiasm and top tier musicianship shown by the members of their live band.

Now over twenty years together as a working duo, Hammock continue their remarkable string of sonic explorations with The Second Coming Was A Moonrise. The title captures a time of exploration, when in his late teens, Byrd and a friend, under the influence of psychedelics, mistook the moonrise for the second coming of Christ. Byrd and Thompson, both primarily guitarists, have found their musical bonds becoming ever stronger as their shared work grows even more dramatic and richer over the years, pursuing a feeling of sweeping, shimmering sonic awe that can never simply be summed up as anything other than itself. The Second Coming Was A Moonrise continues those sensations of exploration, feeling at once like one of their most intimate releases while exploring the rich sense of majesty that they can create in turn. Much of The Second Coming is instrumental or only adds wordless vocal sighs and textures, though always with titles chosen with intent. Byrd revisited more of his drug-fueled escapes with "Chemicals Make You Small," which features two notable guests: Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips, adding vocals and keyboards. Other returning guest performers include regular collaborator Matt Kidd of Slow Meadow adding strings and guitar, Deserta's Matthew Doty on synths and guitar, Lumenette's Christine Byrd adding angelic vocals, Chad Howat playing keyboards and bass and Jake Finch adding some remarkable drumming.

Digipak. On Hammok's new album When Does This Place Become Our Scene, the Oslo trio's sophomore outing and first release for Sargent House, their noise-rock, hardcore, and metal foundations expand into broader, more dynamic territory. Industrial textures, hip-hop-informed rhythms, synth-led passages, and progressive structures surface alongside classic punk urgency, revealing a band equally invested in abrasion and atmosphere. Produced by vocalist and guitarist Tobias Osland, the songs arrived in inspired bursts, even as the recording process proved painstaking. Tasked with refining and expanding their sound, Hammok tweaked and explored each track until it held all their competing impulses at once: music that feels volatile and immediate yet dense with hooks and layered detail. True to it's title, When Does This Place Become Our Scene examines hardcore's lineage and social politics while widening it's focus to questions of belonging in an era shaped by the internet and hyperconnection. Balancing underground intensity with pop instinct, they arrived at an album equal parts scream-along cathartic and nod-along infectious.

The album gives you that feeling you get when you roll down your car window and turn up the radio on full blast," says Johnny Gioeli, describing the ten new songs. Somewhere between 1967 and 1968, at the very nerve of the psychedelic era, Japanese singer and composer Harumi recorded in New York an album that today sounds like a lost manifesto of cosmopolitan psychedelic pop. Harumi is a rare example of delicate, almost fragile psychedelia - where Eastern melodic sensibility meets soft American folk-rock and the studio imagination of the late 1960s.

The release of The Haunted Youth's highly anticipated sophomore album, Boys Cry Too, marks the next chapter in the career of songwriter / frontman Joachim Liebens' musical project. From the towering eight-minute opening track "In My Head," to the final, haunted strum of "Ghost Girl," Boys Cry Too presents a viscerally powerful journey through loss, despair, heartache, rage and hope. It's a record fueled by personal emotional turmoil, but one that also reveals a naked vulnerability, reflected in the crystalline beauty of tracks like "Emo Song" and "Hurt," and the emotionally raw confessions within Liebens' lyrics. "I wanted to show the vulnerable part of men and boys and celebrate it, instead of making it this whole stigma that's been going on for so long", he explains. That emotional spectrum is reflected in a change of instrumentation, with live drums and guitars coming more into focus ahead of the layers of sun-bleached synths that characterized the band's debut. Following their successful debut album, Dawn of the Freak (2022), The Haunted Youth have quickly become a melancholic dream pop phenomenon, a multi-award-winning band, with over 20 million streams to date and a packed touring schedule. Frontman and songwriter Joachim Liebens blends dreamy guitars, nostalgic synths, and deeply personal lyrics into songs that - while dark in theme - offer comfort and connection.

In 2008, Have a Nice Life released their now cult classic Deathconsciousness album to a whimper and critical non-interest. Six years after it's release the band followed up with 2014's stunner The Unnatural World, and by then Deathconsciousness had become a force of influence and fanatic obsession. Seamlessly blending shoegaze, post punk, new wave, industrial and noise with unparalleled depth and weight, the album was originally released by Enemies List Home Recordings founded by HANL members Dan Barrett and Tim Macuga. Now, longtime HANL collaborator The Flenser will reissue Deathconsciousness on the long-requested CD format, with a deluxe packaging option, including the lengthy accompanying zine and housed in a heavy box. The 75-page booklet accompanying the deluxe format of Deathconsciousness details the dark and forgotten history of the Antiochean cult. Blurring the lines between novella, liner notes, and academic text, the zine itself presents an engrossing narrative. The corresponding album is rhythmic, primal and expansive, and is a gloomy-post-punk masterpiece-a mediation on death, loss and existence. It feels more fresh and engaging with every listen and has held up as a remarkable piece of art. Fans of Have a Nice Life exhibit both cultic thought and action for good reason-it is perhaps a fanbase as dark and mysterious as the Antiochean's, which the album itself revolves around.

After 20+ years spent fulfilling their contract for Atlantic Records - a contract Williams signed as a mere teenager - Paramore announced in December of 2023 that they were finally an independent band. This surprise collection is self-released by Hayley Williams on her new venture Post Atlantic. These songs come as the third batch of work released from Williams as a solo artist. The COVID-era saw her release two extraordinary albums - 2020’s Petals For Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases. Both albums were gorgeous and stark meditations on loss and offered up a contrast to the high-energy and up-tempo muscle she displays in Paramore. “The record—epitomizing vulnerability and transformative growth—reveals a more mature and introspective side of Williams,” said Pitchfork of Petals, and went on to say of Flowers “her voice is undoubtedly the standout feature… husky and gentle, dangerous yet warm,” and explained that the minimal production “makes this a purposeful reset.”

"Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore, celebrated the surprise release of her second solo project, FLOWERS for VASES / descansos, in February 2021. The gripping album was written and performed in it's entirety by Hayley Williams, a career first for the music industry titan. Recorded at her home in Nashville, the 14-track album spans from stories of love to stories of loss. "In a world that often requires us to ignore our deepest needs, Hayley Williams does not provide a light at the end of the tunnel or a closed door, but a new body, a new tongue, and possibly a new frame of reference to survive and even thrive," writes NPR. Named one of the best albums of the year so far by outlets such as Rolling Stone and SPIN, FLOWERS for VASES / descansos is available for streaming and purchase now.

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Haylie Davis presents Wandering Star, a coming-of-age debut that unfolds like a Townes Van Zandt tale set in a deserted diner off a re-routed interchange: intimate, cinematic and quietly fearless.Haylie Davis channels the spirit of the early '70s, when Carole King and Joni Mitchell redefined songwriting. That time-travelling sensibility is celebrated on Wandering Star, the album's title track. A piano-led meditation steeped in longing, the song carries the eerie shadow of Karen Carpenter, buoyed by a luminous, aching sub-melody.The blissful ballad 'Horns of Time' taps into a plaintive cosmic country palette reminiscent of Emmylou Harris. 'Give Me a Rainbow' follows, a lo-fi folk reverie recalling Clairo, as if filtered through a back-porch-reclining, wide-eyed Dolly Parton in awe of her own roots. Rolling Stone has hailed Davis' earlier recordings as "gently hued Laurel Canyon folk-pop songs", and on Wandering Star her compass swings wider still. Her maturing worldview and distinctive vocal at times evoke Lana Del Rey and Weyes Blood crafting an ode to Gram Parsons - a hybrid on full display in the self-examining passion of 'I Was Wrong'.A fresh take on modern pop, Wandering Star is infectious, brimming with hooks, soaring choruses and storylines that tug at the heartstrings.

2004 debut album by Daryl Palumbo's (Glassjaw, Color Film) Head Automatica • Expanded and remastered Deluxe Edition includes 8 non-LP bonus tracks. • Features liner notes by Jason Pettigrew with reimagined album art Head AutomaticA was formed by Daryl Palumbo of the influential post-hardcore band Glassjaw to explore his other musical interests that didn't fit into the Glassjaw lane. Palumbo was in the midst of making the second Glassjaw album, Worship And Tribute, when he was introduced to producer Dan ""The Automator"" Nakamura with the result being Head Automatica's first album, Decadence, released in 2004. The album allowed Palumbo with Nakamura (whose production work included Gorillaz, DJ Shadow, and Handsome Boy Modeling School, among others) to dive into diverse genres and artists for inspiration-hip-hop to Frank Zappa to Britpop and beyond. ""The product speaks for itself. As soon as the needle rolls out of the lead-in groove and into ""The Speed Of A Yellow Bullet,""... hold on, candyasses-you realize that you're in the movie now. It hits perfectly. Head A works that jam confidently like they were called in to replace The MC5 at a headlining gig at a Black Panthers town hall meeting. And damn if Daryl doesn't sell it: That dropped couplet from The Mothers Of Invention's 1966 highmark debut Freak Out (""I saw the smoke and fire/and the market burning down"") smells like a passed torch once lit from inside a time machine. Then the downshift into ""Brooklyn Is Burning,"" where Nakamura's drum loops and chrome-plated spaghetti Western samples just heighten Palumbo's swagger in all the best ways."" from the liner notes by Jason Pettigrew Decadence appeared on the Billboard 200 and the Top Heatseekers charts and Palumbo formed a group to tour the U.S. alongside bands like The Cure and Interpol. Popaganda, the second Head Automatica album followed in 2006 and was supported by further touring with Taking Back Sunday, Avenged Sevenfold, and Jack's Mannequin, among others throughout the year and into 2007. By late 2007, they were working on their still-unissued third album which was completed in 2009. Unfortunately, creative differences with Warner Bros., led to both Head Automatica and Glassjaw parting ways with the label. Though the band toured the U.K. in 2012, it wasn't until 2023 that the band was active again. Now Decadence has been expanded and remastered with reimagined artwork to boot! Boasting eight bonus tracks and new liner notes from Jason Pettigrew, Decadence re-emerges from the early '00s in Deluxe Edition form and better than ever! The album was recorded over three days whilst the Heads were rehearsing for a couple of live dates with their friends, and peers, Mudhoney. The guitars, drums and bass were laid down live in Bristol, over-dubs added and then mixed/produced by John McBain in Portland.Initially planned as two single albums, (Volumes 1+2) it soon made sense that they should be put together as a double LP. Named in a nod to the Stooges' Raw Power classic 'Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell', it describes the trajectory we're all on.The Heads are renowned for their brutalist take on psychedelic rock, this new album shows how much they have absorbed from their years of existence, their peers and the world around them. Not much change though, they haven't mellowed out.The pummel is there, the spaced out sike zones are there, there's wigged out guitar solos that will peel the paint off the walls, there's even pop songs if you look/listen hard enough. John McBain has done a grand job in fine tuning the noise and sonic assault. It's hard to draw a direct "for fans of " list, because ultimately this album is for fans of the Heads. However, you can trace the DNA of this album back to the Stooges, Hawkwind, 13th Floor Elevators, Can, Mudhoney, Monster Magnet, Loop, Spacemen 3, MC5 etc. All squeezed through the Head's heavy sonic blender.A band that only ever existed on the fringes, "if you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space'.Life and jobs got in the way a bit but hey, at least that kept it pure.'One chord, three pedals, six years' was an old mantra of theirs. They've pushed that to 'three chords, double album, 20 years'.Don't expect another. Pre-apocalypse blues of rhythmic fuzz and acid rock. This album will be the soundtrack to navigate 2026.

When Dio regrouped with Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice between 2007 and 2009 they did so under the name Heaven & Hell. They released the live albums Live at Radio City Music Hall in 2007 and Neon Knights Live at Wacken in 2009, plus their sole studio album The Devil You Know in 2009. These recordings are now collected together as Breaking Out Of Heaven 2007-2009 on a 4CD set that includes a Blu-ray featuring the aforementioned live shows in their entirety. These were the last recordings made by Ronnie James Dio before he sadly passed away in 2010, and represent a fitting testament to the music he made with Black Sabbath, featuring tracks from Heaven And Hell, Mob Rules, Dehumanizer and The Dio Years.

Heavenly return! As fiercely independent as any punk band, but as sweetly melodic as any chart-topping act, Heavenly combine sharp-edged lyrics with shamelessly joyful pop music.'Highway To Heavenly' shares this musical recipe with the band's first four albums, all of which were released in the 1990s at a time when sensitive indie types in the UK were sheltering from the prevailing macho-rock storm under the Sarah Records umbrella, and when women in the US were starting to find their Riot Grrrl voices in the small town of Olympia, where labels like K and Kill Rock Stars were designing a new creative space.Heavenly were on Sarah Records in the UK and on K in the US - and maybe this is a useful shorthand for understanding the band's ability to meld the attitude of American Riot Grrrl bands with the pop charms of the English indie scene. In terms of style, Heavenly presented an androgynous look - short hair and pinafores for Amelia and Cathy - while Peter Rob and Mathew determinedly avoided the theatrics of male rock. Heavenly did not want to fit in with the hyper-gendered corporate music scene of the 1990s, and the band have stayed determinedly independent ever since (this new album is released on Rob and Amelia's Skep Wax label). The new songs are full of anger, of grief, of empathy, of love, and set themselves in opposition to the resurgence of the cold 'masculine energy' that is making the world a miserable, aggressive place today.
