2026 release. Society is in shambles, fascism is in fashion, and the Ultra Heavy Beat remains resolute and resolved to rise up and rip the system! 42 years of conceptual continuity and distinction thru diversity, KMFDM is back, declaring itself the ENEMY with this 24th album! Kommanded by the songwriting and vocal power of Sascha "Käpt'n K" Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli, and backed by the percussive onslaught of Andy Selway, the band is now joined by London six-string slinger Tidor Nieddu bringing his own bold and vivid guitar flavors. On top of that, having hypnotized audiences on the band's 40th anniversary tour with her live rendition of "Professional Killer," Annabella Konietzko also appears with her own hit-list on the explosive "YOU"," marking her songwriting debut with KMFDM. 2026 collection from the Power Pop icons. 19 studio, live, and demo tracks from across their storied career. Features the return of their classic cover of Badfinger's "No Matter What," and other hard-to-find performances. The Knack was far from a one-hit wonder. But, sometimes, we need to be reminded of that. Principal songwriter and vocalist Doug Fieger of The Knack created Zen Records as an outlet for new Knack material, as well as early recordings, demos, and more in order to get them into the public ear. Omnivore Recordings has been honored to have a decade-plus relationship with Zen Records. Knackology: The Zen Recordings collects 19 classic Knack performances. From pre-Get The Knack demos ("That's What The Little Girls Do"), to a live "Let Me Out," Knackology shows the band's genesis. Follow that with more across the globe performances of hits including "Good Girls Don't," "Baby Talks Dirty," "One Day At A Time," and-naturally-"My Sharona," and feel the live power that caused a bidding war for their debut, and how it never relented onstage throughout their tenure. Also included are studio tracks from their releases Zoom (which Fieger called their best album) and Normal As The Next Guy, showcasing that they were never truly that "one hit wonder" label they had been slapped with. Add in rarities like their cover of Badfinger's "No Matter What" (originally released on a Badfinger tribute) and you have a total Knack education and experience. This collection is mastered by multiple Grammy-winning engineer Michael Graves, and features liner notes from Grammy-winner Lee Lodyga (who has helmed Knack reissues for Capitol Records, Virgin Records, and Omnivore Recordings.) Knackology: The Zen Recordings is more than just a compilation. It is both an introduction and refresher course to one of the world's most important, impressive, and irreplaceable bands. KNOCKED LOOSE:
As Knocked Loose chipped away at what would become their third album, they felt the pressure from all sides. Internally, there was the need to challenge themselves as songwriters while retaining the merciless intensity and unflinching honesty that have always been their calling cards. Externally, there was a whole new set of eyes on the hard-touring Louisville quintet, following a banner year in which they’d brought their underground-seasoned sound to some of the world’s biggest stages, finding themselves the unlikely viral darlings of both Coachella and Bonnaroo.
The creative process was arduous, with the band writing close to 40 songs across a span of four years before locking in the 10 tracks that make up new LP You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To. But in the end, vocalist Bryan Garris, guitarists Isaac Hale and Nicko Calderon, bassist Kevin Otten and drummer Kevin “Pac Sun” Kaine honed a diverse, cohesive and savagely intense album that both sums up the massive strides they’ve taken during their decade as a band, and asserts their boundless potential going forward.
Raging lead single “Blinding Faith” skillfully wields whiplash tempo changes in service of a scathing indictment of religious groupthink. “Don’t Reach for Me” combines the band’s signature frenzied attack with deliberate catchiness and refreshing sonic variety. While “Suffocate,” featuring pop-meets-metal trailblazer Poppy, contrasts an oppressive heaviness befitting the title with a dance-y, syncopated groove and, midway through, the most concussive reggaeton rhythm you’ve ever heard.
The album title — a phrase that a fellow passenger said to Garris to soothe his severe air-travel anxiety during a particularly trying flight — strikes a note of reassurance. But glossing over negative emotions isn’t what Knocked Loose are about. The new songs find them plumbing new depths of loathing — directed both inward and outward — and tortuous anguish. Musically, they’re leaning into their most extreme impulses, from blastbeat-driven fury, chaotic turbulence and seismic breakdowns, while seasoning the mix with ear-catching auxiliary percussion, evocative samples and shout-along hooks, all interwoven to perfection by Grammy-nominated, pop-savy producer Drew “WZRD BLD” Fulk.
There’s no ceiling for hardcore in 2024 — even an outfit as uncompromising as Knocked Loose can turn up in mainstream-adjacent spaces and win over new fans. But there’s a center to what they do that will never change: uncompromising heaviness, both sonically and thematically. What is evolving is their drive to find new ways to convey that heaviness, and add tasteful variety that only highlights their undiminished ferocity. Everywhere Knocked Loose have been is here on this record — but so is everywhere they may yet go.

Knumears understand that no band exists in a vacuum. They are an embodiment of a sonic tradition, one that's been molded and shaped for decades and can only be carried by those who truly love it. Call it screa- mo, skramz, post-hardcore or whatever else-it's a sound that's somehow endured through years of changing musical tides and is now impacting a whole new generation of underground musicians. Now Knumears' debut al- bum, Directions, is equal parts love letter and cartography project, one that explores the deep history of a convoluted scene while creating an exciting blueprint for a new one. Knumears are a group of not just passionate musicians, but friends whose bonds are as important as the music they make together. Since 2021, the Knumears (bassist Dante Garcia II, drummer Frankie Lopez, and vocalist/ guitarist Matthew Cole) have been writing, touring and playing nonstop, moving from playing packed local shows with kids screaming, climbing, shouting and dancing to touring nationally and finding the same fervent reactions all across the country. But outside of the chaos of touring, the group found equal growth in their personal lives, strengthening old bonds with those back home, discovering new connections, and cultivating their own worlds. "All of us were kind of finding ourselves on our own and finding new relationships of all kinds," Cole says, reflecting on the record's devel- opment. "A lot of change was happening for each of us." At first all of this personal upheaval was not completely conducive to writing a new album. The band was scheduled to record with legendary producer/engineer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Loma Prieta, Touche Amore) but the band's process felt somewhat stagnant until suddenly it wasn't: "We were all struggling very much creativity wise," explains Cole "We'd all found outlets in other projects while trying to write this record. But a few weeks before our time with Jack, we sat down and basically wrote the whole record. We practiced three times a week for probably a month and a half, it was practically flowing out of us." The result is an exceptionally urgent sounding album- even for a visceral genre like screamo. Knumears' traffic in a sound that's hyper-immediate yet notoriously difficult to define: it evolved from the primordial ooze of late '80s hardcore, earning the "post" signifier in the most literal way, then shifted in the '90s into something even more emotionally wrought and musically chaotic with bands like Heroin, Pg. 99, and Orchid. The sound evolved further with another boom in the late 2000s/early 2010s as Loma Prieta, Touche Amore, and more boiled the music into something more direct and even at times catchy in it's own caustic way. Now Knumears and their contemporaries find themselves at the forefront of a modern screamo landscape.

A southern original, Kristin Diable's voice bends as whimsical and unyielding as the Mississippi River. Her timeless melodies and sharp-eyed lyrics channel the mystical within the everyday, revealing the silver lining inside ordinary moments. The result is a sound that feels both grounded and otherworldly, and unmistakably her own.Diable's previous release, Create Your Own Mythology, recorded in Nashville with producer Dave Cobb, was praised by NPR, American Songwriter, and Southern Living as one of the year's best. Her forthcoming album, Impossible Things, writes the next chapter. Recorded at the legendary Dockside Studios in south Louisiana with producer Ben Alleman (Dr. John, Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, Madi Diaz), it sounds like a radio tuned to two timelines at once: dream pop echoes drifting through a shotgun house, Sunday morning mercy with Saturday night glitter still clinging to it's boots. These songs do not rush. They pull up a chair, slide a coffee across the table, and say, "Tell the truth and don't flinch."Diable does not flinch. She wrote these songs through seasons of upheaval and reinvention, navigating loss, the death of loved ones, domestic violence, single motherhood, and the reckoning that comes with rebuilding a life on your own terms. What emerges is a body of work that practices a kind of spiritual jiu jitsu, transforming weight into grace and ache into architecture. The title track counts like a spell: "I believe six impossible things before the sun does rise." "Bidding" marks the moment illusion falls away and a woman walks out lighter and taller. "Shame Say" opens a window rather than wagging a finger: "love won't lie, truth is coming for you." "Ever Softly You Go" is a lullaby for two children at once, the one sleeping in her arms and the one she once was. "Reckless & Free" throws the doors wide open, fear shrinking as life expands. "Ricky's on the Dance Floor" buys a round for the broken-hearted and reminds us that rhythm is it's own kind of medicine. This album is not optimism. It is alchemy. It finds the holy in the mundane: laundry steam, a kettle coming to a boil, a melody catching in your throat on the way to the grocery store. Rooted in southern Americana but refracted through dream pop, cinematic textures, and subtle electronic shimmer, the production floats like a handful of Mardi Gras glitter that keeps catching the light long after the party ends. Think unlikely pop daring to dream quietly, or neo-Americana reimagining it's altars under neon lights. Some records want to impress you. Impossible Things wants to companion you. It believes you can do hard miracles before breakfast. It believes your art is your life and your life is your art. It suggests transcendence is not waiting on the other side of hardship, but living right here in the present, if we listen closely enough. When the song ends, the world may look the same, but you may not be. That is how impossible things usually begin.See you at the show.

"Kyle Sowash has had it. I mean, he's not alone. Things are getting tough out there. People are on these streets selling their Built to Spill records just to make rent. It's not okay. Start Making Sense is an appeal to sanity for all dads and phantom dads. A celebration of the tired and a strong cry for another beer. In case of emergency, raise glass. We've come so far from simply filing things under 'what's important' and 'what's not;' on this record, Sowash deals with fragile men, Cleveland football and justice for classic rock drummers. That coffee-colored telecaster still gets beat to hell, just for the healing. Look at the guitar up close if you can. Or just listen closer. The band is locked in. La Russo bumps. You could marinate meat in Hemminger's tone. Bandman has arms like a government clock. There's a universal yuck on us. You wake up to a world advancing and aging and cracking apart. Put this record on, man. Start Making Sense is a modern life survival kit, replete with horn arrangements and hot dog hooks. You're gonna be okay. Or you're gonna get the dishes done, at the very least. Turn it around, my guy. Start making sense." - Lee Keeler

Originally released in 1991 on the late, great Blonde Vinyl Records, This Is the Healing by L.S. Underground remains one of the most raw, challenging, and emotionally honest albums to emerge from the fringes of Christian alternative music. Led by Michael Knott, the album rejected Polish and certainty in favor of vulnerability, ambiguity, and truth-qualities that have only grown more resonant with time.Built on a stripped-down foundation of guitars, stark drum programming, and Knott's unmistakable voice, This Is the Healing leans into tension rather than resolution. From the opening track "Miracle," which tells stories of broken people longing for divine intervention amid fear and unanswered prayer, the album signals that this will not be a comfortable listen-and that discomfort is precisely it's power. Knott's lyrics confront doubt, grief, love, and faith without formulas, offering something far deeper than the tidy answers common to the era.Tracks like "G.G.G." remain among the most affecting moments in Knott's catalog, delivering a plea for love and understanding that is as bold as it is disarming. The title track, "This Is the Healing," reframes inspiration itself, suggesting that real healing begins not with platitudes but with honesty about where pain truly lives. Elsewhere, Knott's experimental instincts come fully into focus: "War" collides slashing guitars, spoken vocals, and operatic passages from Bridget Knott, weaving together biblical imagery and Gulf War-era anxiety, while "Hummingbird" ventures into one of the strangest and most compelling moments in his discography, blending industrial textures with multilingual operatic vocals. At times, This Is the Healing feels like several albums colliding-intimate, emotional songs sit alongside post-punk urgency and concept-driven experimentation. Yet that collision is the point. The album captures a restless artist unwilling to smooth the edges, resulting in a work that feels deeply human, unsettling, and ultimately compassionate. This Legends Remastered 35th Anniversary CD edition, released in cooperation with Josh Lory, honors one of the defining albums of the Blonde Vinyl era. Limited to just 300 jewel-case CDs, the album has been remastered for CD by J Powell at Steinhaus and features brand-new original cover artwork created by Michael Knott in 2023. The release includes a 16-page booklet with lyrics, photos, and an in-depth write-up by music critic Dw. Dunphy, placing the album in it's proper historical and artistic context. As the creative force behind Blonde Vinyl Records and a key figure connected to the earliest days of Tooth & Nail, Michael Knott's impact on Christian alternative music cannot be overstated. Through Lifesavers, L.S. Underground, Aunt Betty's, and Cush, he helped redefine what faith-filled music could sound like-unfiltered, experimental, and unafraid.Thirty-five years on, This Is the Healing remains both a vital document from the edges of alternative rock history and a deeply personal work that still speaks to listeners willing to sit with honesty, tension, and hope. For fans of Janes Addiction, The Cure, Undercover, The Queers, Porno For Pyros, The Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins

La Peste was Boston's first true punk band and bridged the gap between the city's influential 1970's proto-punk hotbed and the college rock and hardcore punk that followed in the 80's and 90's. This collection tells the full story of La Peste with a presentation of the band's unreleased studio and loft recordings along with the two tracks that have been officially released. These tracks come from the studio session that produced the Better Off Dead 7" (the band's only official release), their 1978 session with The Cars' Ric Ocasek, a 1978 session at Electro Acoustic Studios and 4-track loft recordings made by Boston punks Billy Dafodil and Dave Cola in 1977. On the A and B sides of this collection Peter Dayton and Mark Andreasson give their first shot at sequencing the La Peste LP that they never got a chance to make. The C side features the tracks from the loft recordings that were not used on the A and B Sides. Side D is a window into a nascent La Peste and features studio and 4-track recordings with Curt Naihersey (Pastiche, The Kids, Mr. Curt). The D side also includes a rare curiosity from the La Peste catalogue, their collaboration with Verulven Records' founder Joe Viglione (The Count, Lord Manuel) from a sought-after split 7" with the The Neighborhoods.

The legendary Slovenian group's first original studio album since 2014's Spectre, Musick - intensely pop, yet intensely Laibach. Available via Mute on limited edition neon pink vinyl and CD. This record simultaneously celebrates and critiques the current era of warped reality and AI imitation. The title reflects a duality: an oversaturation, being "sick of music" in an age where over 100,000 new tracks, many AI-generated, are uploaded daily, making us question reality; and a "pathological devotion" that continues to drive the band. The maximalist creation process in their Ljubljana studio involved analogue synths, toys, computers with sound apps, and collaborators like Donna Marina MÃ¥rtensson and Richard X. They drew influences from K-pop, J-pop, and '90s Eurodance, yet maintained that their "primary influence and reference point remained Laibach itself." Lillie West has always made her music in response to an itch to always be moving. But, as she recently experienced a burgeoning desire to settle down, she realized that steadiness can beget creativity. That evolution is what fuels much of her new album as Lala Lala, Heaven 2. For many years, West lived in Chicago, where she established Lala Lala as part of that city's indie scene, releasing several records on the Sub Pop imprint Hardly Art. Those albums, The Lamb and I Want the Door to Open, were powerful statements from a curious artist: catchy guitar-pop songs about being stuck in the ups and downs of life, the struggle to stay sober, to leave town, to blow up your life. West left Chicago to search for more and, in the process, wrote her new album, Heaven 2. On her journey, she landed in New Mexico, where she lived off the grid in Taos. "It was very challenging, freezing, infested with poisonous animals. But it's still the most beautiful and magical place I've ever been and I dream about it all the time," West says. She then made her way to Iceland, where she lived for two years on and off, with the off being in London, where she grew up. Eventually, she made her way to Reykjavik and settled in with the music community and released an instrumental album (If I Were A Real Man I Would Be Able To Break The Neck Of A Suffering Bird) before heading to Los Angeles, where she has fallen in love and found herself settled. L.A. has been a good place to live, if for no other reason than, in West's words, "wherever you go, there you are. I wish there was a cooler way to say that." Fortunately, there are: This theme of finding beauty and fulfillment wherever one can permeates Heaven 2. On "Even Mountains Erode," West sings, "There are symbols and signs, you're missing your life." West encourages herself, and us, to slow down. To stop and smell the flowers. West produced the album with Jay Som's Melina Duterte, who provides a strong punchiness as a bed for West's warm, rounded vocals. The relationship between the two of them was telepathic, and the result is a bold and confident album. Duterte and West performed almost all of the album's instruments, with a few crucial guests, like Sen Morimoto on saxophone on the opening track, "Car Anymore," and a bridge written by Porches' Aaron Maine on the title track, "Heaven 2." Catharsis is not only about the pain, but the escape that happens when you free yourself of it. And so there are moments of bold joy on the album, too. "Arrow," which samples the French electro pop band La Femme, moves fast, and it's swiftness and pleasure feel like running towards something, not away. "None of this was supposed to happen," West sings. But it did. "It's such a basic spiritual thing," West says, "Resistance is the root of all suffering, and I thought I could dictate the course of my life." Of course, like everyone else, she could not. Wherever you go, there you are.

2026 release. Intense and intensely personal, The Dead Ones marks The Last Ten Seconds of Life's Metal Blade label debut. For the 10 original tracks of pulverizing deathcore produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Pennsylvania's Atrium Audio, the band focused on "the guitar/bass/drum tones as well as the mix/master to achieve a super-thick sonic output and 'rolling-tank'-like feel," guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin explains. Four stellar guests are featured on the album - "Make It to Heaven" has David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm; Nate Johnson, ex-Fit For an Autopsy, appears on "Rat Trap;" "Dollar to a Dime" has Alan Grnja of Distant; and "XXXXXXXXXX" features original TLTSOL vocalist Storm Strope. Lauren Lakis makes songs that are steeped in darkness, but inside of them is a sense of hope. They are propelled by the possibility of emerging on the other side feeling less alone and fully transformed. On her debut album Deadlights, set for release on Riding Easy Records on May 8, 2026, she conjures a shifting reality-one defined by both distortion and clarity. Indebted to shoe gaze and '90s alt rock, it's 10 tracks are filled with ethereal vocals, melodic guitars, and a heavy low end. It's inspired by groups like Deftones and Hole, powerful bands that explore the emotional bottom but are able to rise from the depths.Lakis was born in Baltimore, where she was raised by her single mother. As she grew up, she lost multiple family members and friends to addiction. She became an actor and a photographer, trying to capture the human experience with each endeavor. Her travels led to stints living in Prague and Tokyo, before she moved to Los Angeles. In 2016 she endured a horrible breakup, and then her mother was in a car accident that left her paralyzed.Though Lakis was already singing in a band at the time, these life-altering events motivated her to focus on writing and recording her own music. "When you're in a place of total surrender, you are able to get out of your own way and finally do the thing you want to do, " she says. After the car accident, Lakis's mother's health deteriorated, and Deadlights was recorded over the last year of life, with Lakis frequently travelling back to Baltimore to care for her. Despite these circumstances and the recurring theme of loss in it's songs, Lakis doesn't consider Deadlights a grief album. Instead it captures what's possible when you survive the worst reality you can imagine. "That loss, the experience of going through the absolute worst thing, there's a freedom in that, " she says. "There's a liberation in that where I almost feel invincible."
