Holy Diver - DIO - Holy Diver is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Dio, released in 1983. Vocalist Ronnie James Dio had just finished his first tenure in Black Sabbath, whose drummer Vinny Appice he took with him to put together his own band. The roster was completed by his former band mate in Rainbow Jimmy Bain on bass and by the young guitarist Vivian Campbell, coming from the NWOBHM band Sweet Savage. The album was acclaimed by the music press and is the most successful of the band. The cover features the band mascot, Murray spinning chains around waves where a man with a priest or minister's collar in chains is floating. Dio was quick to argue that appearances are misleading, that it could just as easily be a priest killing a devil, wanting people not to "judge a book by it's cover".

Parallel Stride is the fourth solo album from Doug Gillard, the Ohio-bred, New York-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known for his work with Guided by Voices, Nada Surf, Death of Samantha, and Cobra Verde. Swedish gothic doom entity DRACONIAN is finally back! Their new studio album, In Somnolent Ruin, will creep its way from the artist’s spirit into the light of day on May 8, 2026 via Napalm Records. This promises to be one of the most personal records in the band’s discography, revealed through a dreamlike journey across nine tracks and the poetic lyricism of vocalist Anders Jacobsson. As a recurring theme, DRACONIAN explore Plato’s theory of the soul – an element that was not planned from the very beginning, but instead emerged organically during the creation. In 2022, the band announced the return of vocalist Lisa Johansson. Johansson had been the band’s vocalist for their first five records before leaving DRACONIAN in 2011 for personal reasons. In Somnolent Ruin marks her comeback.
