This collaboration between Davor Bozic and Lee transforms the hypnotic rhythm of the Hand Pan into a cinematic roadmap for the soul. Originally intended as a solo instrumental project, it "morphed" into something far more powerful: a vibrational key to higher consciousness. From the opening notes of "The Wings of a Sound," you are transported beyond the noise of the world to a place where love is the only frequency. Each melody acts as a gentle guide toward higher consciousness, whispering the eternal truth that "All Be Well Within." As the final notes of "Doors" fade, you are left with a profound sense of renewal-reminded that every ending is simply the threshold of a new beginning.

Mexican Institute of Sound (MIS) and Meridian Brothers join forces on Ruido Tovar, a cross-border collaboration that reimagines the tropical traditions linking Mexico and Colombia. Drawing inspiration from icons like Rigo Tovar and the psychedelic Mexican cumbia era, the project blends danzón, son, cha-cha-cha, and experimental electronics into a vibrant new language. MIS's genre-bending electronic tropicalism meets Meridian Brothers' avant-garde eccentricity, resulting in a sound that is both reverent and playfully distorted. Together, Camilo Lara and Eblis Alvarez pay tribute to decades of musical exchange while pushing tropical music into unexpected territory.

The diatonic button accordion, from the beginning of the 19th century, became hugely popular in traditional rituals, secular celebrations and love songs, bringing a new aesthetic to Masikoro music in the south-west of the Great Island. The Masikoro's appropriation of the instrument began with modifying it's scale to suit indigenous ears and music. This involved carving the reeds of the accordion to turn it into a "prepared accordion". As the instrument is very difficult to find in new condition, musicians play on old models inherited from their fathers, sometimes even their grandfathers. Repaired several times, they produce noises and clicks from the bellows that become elements of expression in the music.Often accompanied by singing, rattles and drums, the accordion now plays a major role in various traditional rituals such as possession sessions, ceremonies of exorcism, of circumcision and funerals. It also accompanies dancing and songs of nostalgia, and sometimes the end of market days. UPC: 3415820001187Label: Ocora FranceRelease Date: 4.24.26Format: CD
Karimi, master of singing, drew on the most authentic source of the radif (classical repertoire) to create an intimate expression far removed from any artifice, in perfect harmony with Mohammad Musavi's ney flute -a simple reed with immense power. This is how Karimi illustrates the mode in which he has chosen to sing: "Navâ has a special beauty of it's own. A mode with a sweetness, finesse and subtlety that plunges the listener into a state of meditation. It's melodies are among the most traditional, having been passed on for at least three hundred years from teacher to pupil right down to my own teachers, Davâmi and Hâjji Aqâ".Mohammad Musavi's reed flute (ney) also signifies the calligrapher's pen. There is indeed a way of emphasising a single note in a song as if it were a stroke, of echoing a fragment of it, of seizing on a motif and unfolding it in an arabesque, of organising it's punctuation, which evokes calligraphy and illumination. At this point, two ineffable breaths remain: that of a man and that of a flute. But, as Mowlânâ Rumi suggests, are they not one and the same being? UPC: 3415820001200Label: Ocora FranceRelease Date: 6.5.26Format: CD
Mosaic is an ensemble made up of six musicians from Bulgaria, France, Portugal and Tunisia. Their compositions are above all else a space for musical encounters at the crossroads of jazz and Mediterranean music. Their musical language is varied, combining Balkan ornamentation with the colours of Western European chamber music and the rhythmic essence of North African music. The ensemble explores imaginative worlds and interweaves traditions like a mosaic, passing fromenergetic grooves to the breath of the Bulgarian kaval and the woody sonority of stringed instruments. Now that it's creations have been welcomed throughout the Mediterranean, Mosaic presents a debut album inspired by the different places it has visited and the people it has met. With Solstice, guitarist Adam Cicchillitti and bandoneonist Denis Plante, accompanied by the Montreal Classical Orchestra under the direction of Jean-Marie Zeitouni, present a unique project: placing the guitar and bandoneon at the heart of the symphony orchestra as fully integrated solo voices.Conceived as a point of balance, mirroring the solstice, the album explores the meeting of musical traditions from the North and the South. It creates a dialogue between the great works of Latin America and contemporary Canadian creation, within a universe nourished by dance rhythms, popular influences, and classical heritage. Several works by Astor Piazzolla are also presented in new orchestrations that reveal the full expressive richness of these instruments, rarely featured in a symphonic context.Through Solstice, the artists offer a powerful and contemporary vision: music of dialogue, migration, and transformation, where the guitar and bandoneon become the center of a vibrant and deeply human orchestral conversation. Over the course of more than half a century, the visionary percussionist and composer Adam Rudolph has been a pioneer in weaving together inspirations and collaborators across cultures, traditions, backgrounds, and styles. Long-standing collaborations with the three major figures of spiritual jazz, Don Cherry, Yusef Lateef, and Pharoah Sanders, helped shape Rudolph's expansive musical philosophy, one rooted in improvisation, deep listening, and cultural exchange. As ever in Rudolph's non-idiomatic vision, Invisible Threads is no mere fusion of musical traditions; instead, it is a journey of discovery shared and shaped by the merging of profoundly individual voices. At the center of Invisible Threads is a constantly evolving sonic landscape shaped by Rudolph's live electronic processing, the electronic manipulations of Danish bassist and sound artist Jesper Pedersen, and the circuit-bending guitar work of Marco Cappelli, a classically trained Italian musician out of New York's avant-garde scene. The rest of the ensemble is from Türkiye, where the album was recorded. Okay Temiz, the legendary percussionist, brings a playful inventiveness through bells, toys, found objects, and handcrafted instruments. Haci Tekbilek is one of the most celebrated Sufi ney players globally, and his playing combines technical mastery with a profound sense of spirituality, drawing long, breath-filled tones and intricate melodic ornamentation. Özlem Kaya's violin, Sila Gerbag's flute, and Sumru Agiryürüyen's voice bring warmth, nuance, and expressive depth to the music. Their contributions move between melody, improvisation, and texture, creating an organic counterpoint to the album's rhythmic complexity and electronic soundscapes. Together, the ensemble creates a sense of openness and emotional richness that is innately human while refusing to be anchored by familiar landmarks of culture or genre - a testament to music as a healing bridge across cultures, and to the power of collective creation to find meaning within unity.

Piazzolla in the hands of a new generation - with passion, freedom, and virtuosity. The fourth Supraphon album by the 21-year-old performer Daniel Matejcabrings a change of genre. Following virtuosic sonatas by Eugene Ysaÿe (2023),a chamber music album with pianist Jan Schulmeister (Suk, Martinu, Fiser,2025), and exciting concertos by Shostakovich and Prokofiev withthe Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and Tomas Netopil (2025), the focusnow turns to tango nuevo, inseparably associated with astor Piazzolla.Besides the Argentine tango, his language as a composer reflects not onlythe contemporary classical music he studied in Paris under Nadia Boulanger, but also jazz and especially the music of Bach, which Piazzolla played onthe bandoneon to the surprise of many people. On a map, Piazzolla would liealong an imaginary axis between Buenos Aires, Paris, and New York. It maywell have been this breadth of inspiration that captivated Daniel Matejca, whoplays piano and percussion as well as violin (not to mention the wide rangeof genres he performs) and the exceptional accordion player Martin sulc, whose palette of colours ranges from intimacy to an almost orchestra fullnessat times. Their flawless ensemble is a given; what is more striking isthe degree of freedom and expressivity they bring to it. Both suites (Suite delangel, Histoire du Tango) contain clearly audible echoes of Piazzolla's studiesin Paris. Of course, the album could not omit Ave Maria, Oblivion, Escualo, and Finale, irresistible works that alone would be enough to secure Piazzolla'simmortality. This recording by two young musicians captivatedby the Argentine legend may well contribute to that lasting legacy. UPC: 099925435523Label: SupraphonRelease Date: 8.7.26Format: CD
Confessions of a Lonely Heart follows the journey of a heart searching for connection. Across nine tracks, including “Miss Me More,” “Someday” and “Psycho,” Eric Nam shares deeply personal confessions of heartbreak, yearning, obsession and self-discovery. While the stories are his own, the emotions behind them are universal: the desire to love, be loved and feel understood.“Loneliness can make us feel as though we’re the only person experiencing it, when in reality, it’s one of the most universal parts of being human,” Eric shares. “This album gave me a place to be honest about emotions that can be difficult to admit and confess things we often keep to ourselves. My hope is that people can hear pieces of their own stories in these songs and feel understood by them. When we’re willing to share what’s in our hearts, we remind one another that none of us is truly alone, and together, we can all be a little less lonely.”

Chopping Mountain, the new record by Ibibio Sound Machine - out September 11, 2026 - is the clearest rendering yet of the London collective's longstanding mission to promote love, unity, and resistance through music. It is the band's sixth full-length record, and the first to feature the band's Max Grunhard as producer since 2019's Doko Mien. Following their Hot Chip-produced breakthrough Electricity (2022) and the darker, clubbier inflection of the Ross Orton-produced Pull the Rope (2024), Chopping Mountain feels like it was pulled directly from the hearts and experiences of the Eno Williams and Grunhard-led band.

Through a large repertoire spanning from the 18th century to their own compositions, Jean-Francois Dutertre, Jean Ribouillault and Christophe Toussaint (key figures in the folk revival of the 1970s) display here the profound expressive richness of the epinette of the Vosges. The type of dulcimer called epinette des Vosges is a box zither which is commonly found in a few valleys of the Vosges, in Franche-Comte and Lorraine. It serves both as an accompaniment to dancing or singing, and as music for entertainment. This dulcimer belongs to a family of box zithers which is wide-spread throughout Northern and Central Europe (this European family of instruments is also related to certain Asian zithers). In Europe, the use of dulcimers seems to have remained popular for the most part, except in the context of religious ceremonies. It's main characteristic is the presence of frets under part of the strings, which distinguishes two groups: melody strings or chanterelles, and accompaniment strings, or drones, which produce a fixed, invariable chord.
