"NoLifeTilMetal Records and Gammacide are teaming up to re-release the original Texas thrash metal masterpiece Victims of Science on strictly limited edition vinyl and CD.Gammacide is an aggressive thrash metal band with a very short but powerful history. When Texas metal pioneers Warlock disbanded in 1985, guitarist Rick Perry and Eric Roy formed thrash band Gammacide. Joined by drummer Jamey Milford and vocalist Varnam Ponville, Gammacide released a 5-song demo in 1987 which made the band a cult favorite amongst the metal fanzine and tape traders of the time. Scott Shelby joined in 1988 as a second guitarist, thus doubling the bands crushing guitar assault. In the summer of 1989 entered Sound Logic Studios in Dallas to record their debut Victims of Science, which was released in early 1990 on Wild Rags Records, becoming one of the label's bestselling records.Gammacide recorded a 4-song demo in 1991 but by 1992 the band folded. In the late 90's and early 2000's the internet gave new exposure to Gammacide and created interest in Texas metal's most intense thrash experience. After many years of inactivity, Victims Of Science album was reissued on CD in 2005, and the band briefly reunited for a Texas tour to commemorate "20 Years of Toxic Metal." The following year, Perry and Shelby joined forces with Rigor Mortis vocalist Bruce Corbitt and formed Texas Metal Alliance, which was eventually renamed Warbeast and recorded their debut CD Krush The Enemy for Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records. Perry also plays guitar in Texas Heavy Metal band Iron Jaw (also available on NoLifeTilMetal Records).In 2025, Gammacide reformed and once again spread the toxic Texas thrash throughout the underground on a U.S. tour. The band is headed back out on another U.S. tour in the Summer of 2026 and working on a new album. To coincide with the tour, NoLifeTilMetal Records and Gammacide have teamed up to re-release the original thrash metal masterpiece Victims of Science on limited edition Toxic Neon Green vinyl and Collector's Edition CD with six bonus tracks. The vinyl will include a 4-panel insert with a 24x12 collage poster. Only 200 copies will be pressed to vinyl. The CD release limited to 500 copies will include a 16-page booklet packed full of photos and memorabilia and will also include the 1991 and 2005 demos as bonus tracks. The music is completely remastered by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound, TX from the original DAT tapes. The duo have been compared to the likes of Sonic Youth and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, yet have managed to create a sound that is distinctly their own, avoiding mimicking the zeitgeist of decades before. Beyond the integrity of their music, Tayler's intimidating glare, or Ty's staggering gait, the duo share something truly inimitable- the overwhelming feeling that their music is a byproduct of the high esteem they hold of each other. The duo moved to NYC in August of 2023 looking for something more than their mundane suburban lifestyle of day drinking and playing doom metal in friends' basements... their move to NYC coupled with their desire to express something, anything, led to the inception of Genre is Death. “Music for me, is rarely complete,” says GODFLESH mastermind Justin Broadrick, “but it has to reach a point where enough is enough. Creatively, there has to be self-discipline. One has to end it.”
Broadrick is primarily referring to the nebulous process of writing and arranging songs into their various potential shapes, but he could just as easily be describing GODFLESH’s imminent conclusion. Just three years after the hypnotic crunch of Purge, 25 years after an uncertain hiatus that nearly scuttled the band, and 38 years since GODFLESH’s inception, Broadrick and bassist-at-arms Ben Green set out to mercilessly crush this cold world with their tenth and penultimate album, this year’s Decay.
“Decay was born from the same sessions as Purge,” Broadrick declares of the new record’s six tracks. “It was one huge pool of songs. I picked what I felt was appropriate for what I wanted to achieve with Purge, with the intention of releasing the songs that didn't fit as a new album within a year of Purge being released. Unfortunately, two years passed whilst considering external labels, so that I didn't have to self-release GODFLESH anymore, but it took an awful lot of time to establish a comfortable home for me. The recordings were done, but as usual for me, I did change a lot of stuff once I came back to it.”
Now, GODFLESH is ready to unleash an even bolder, bleaker series of sounds in Decay. These songs arrive shortly after Broadrick released a public statement about major abdominal surgery he underwent earlier this year. “Fortunately, all of the recordings for Decay were completed long before the surgery, vocals included… although the back end of a couple of songs were recorded with the hernia itself, and that was a struggle. I was already aware that the GODFLESH shout, so to speak, was exacerbating the hernia greatly, as was every GODFLESH performance in the lead-up to the surgery once the hernia appeared, and the hernia was mostly caused by year upon year of shouting in GODFLESH. The album was mixed post-surgery, and while I was still in some pain and considerable discomfort, but fortunately GODFLESH is generally me expressing my pain, albeit [usually] mental, philosophical and existential, whereas this was physical pain.”
While the middle of the record pulses with five-minute hate-grooves, Broadrick credits the slime-wracked opener “Master and Slave” and crawling closer “Consume Me” with Decay’s true conceptual thrust. “The bookends of Decay are the most important pieces to me. They say it all, so to speak; the album could have been just those two songs alone – the duration of them is half of the total album!”
As GODFLESH's active tenure comes to a close, Broadrick expresses gratitude that it was ever his vessel to use as he willed. “It expresses my pain, and I’ve put my body and soul into this expression for the majority of my existence. I feel quite lucky, because Godflesh is now physically impossible for me, rendering it useless. I now wish to move out of its constraints, move on creatively with heavy/ugly music to new ground.”

"Originally released in 2005, The Legendary album 'From Mars to Sirius' put Gojira on the path to Worldwide stardom. Now having reached it's 20th anniversary, this classic album is still a massively Heavy Monster! 'From Mars to Sirius' concept relates the resurrection of a dead planet through an interplanetary quest, tackling environmental issues such as climate change and impacts on marine life as well as broader themes of life, death, and rebirth. Explaining the meaning behind the album title, Joe Duplantier (vocals) said in an interview that "In some cultures, Mars symbolizes war and Sirius peace. (...) it can be a war within us, in our flesh, in our mind, a war with ourselves". The song 'Flying Whales' is a homage to whales and their intelligence. The concept emerged during the second album's tour and resulted in the imagery and artwork for From Mars to Sirius. The cover art was created by Joe Duplantier. It has since been ranked amongst the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time and considered as a masterpiece. It is now released as a 20th anniversary Limited Edition de Luxe double gatefold Zoetrope picture disc with exclusive and never seen band photos.
