Joseph Tholl is widely known as a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. He gained international recognition as a founding member and guitarist of the speed metal band Enforcer, which he officially left in 2019. After his time with Enforcer, he formed Black Trip (later renamed Vojd) and is currently playing guitar in Tribulation. Following 2019's Devil's Drum, It Might Be Art is his second solo album. It was recorded and mixed at Humbucker Studio, which Tholl co-owns with Robert Pehrsson (also a High Roller Records artist). Tholl handles vocals, guitars, and most of the bass, as well as piano and synthesizer parts. Drum duties are shared by Robert Eriksson (The Hellacopters) and Jakob Ljungberg (Second Sun). In addition, the album features several guest appearances by musicians including Johannes Andersson (Tribulation), Tobias Lindkvist (Tyrann), Pia Stjärnvind (Serpent Omega), Adam Zaars (Tribulation), and Robert Pehrsson (Dundertåget, Robert Pehrsson's Humbucker). At times, influences from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, New Model Army, and Midnight Oil can be glimpsed.

Foundational to the Boston alternative metal scene, Junius return with Sotera, their first new album in nearly a decade, reaffirming the band's enduring influence and singular vision. Joined by Orion Wainer (Constants, Tombs), Matthew Vincenty (Glacier), and Eoghan McCarthy (Circus Trees) alongside founding members Joseph E. Martinez and Dana Filloon, the expanded lineup brings renewed precision and intensity to Junius' signature blend of cinematic post-metal and shadowed, atmospheric rock. Sotera explores themes of ancient feminine divinity and the fractured legacy of esoteric rites that quietly shaped early civilization. Expansive and meditative, the album channels myth, ritual, and emotional gravity into a body of work that feels both timeless and urgent - an evolution that honors the band's legacy while pushing it's sound deeper and further than before. Leatherwitch is a new Heavy Metal band formed by vocalist and multi- instrumentalist Marta Gabriel. She disbanded her band CRYSTAL VIPER in the fall of 2025. The band toured in more than 20 countries, conquered the stages of major festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Hellfest or Keep It True, and left a legacy of 9 studio albums. CRYSTAL VIPER's farewell live album entitled "The Live Quest", came out in June 2025 on Listenable records. Marta Gabriel comments : The end of CRYSTAL VIPER didn't mean the end of my musical journey, rather something totally opposite, it literally was "The New Beginning". I'm a super creative person, I write music in different styles all the time. I'm a big, big fan of the very traditional and classic Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, this is what inspires me all the time. (...) And whenever a path ends, there's a new path or even a few paths to follow. One of those new paths is called Leatherwitch, and it took me to the very basic and pure Heavy Metal. I wouldn't call it "old school", as I didn't try to play or achieve the retro vibe over here - but it is indeed very classic sounding, raw, and full of the original Heavy Metal energy. Leatherwitch's debut album 'First spell' will let the listener encounter some sparkling riffs and solos accompanied by what is surely the most convincing vocal performance of Marta's career. Every track comes loud with it's own clarity yet with a raw vibe thanks to refined production. Marta continues : "First Spell" as the album title is a play of words: if I'm this Heavy Metal witch wearing leather, holding a flying V guitar, playing loud and proud, then why not to call the first album "First Spell", since it's the first official full length release. There is no actual concept behind the lyrics on the new album, they are like short stories about what inspires me, about what was or is happening in my life, and about events II witnessed or which I was part of. So some of the lyrics have deeper or more symbolic personal meeting, while the others are fun stories related to classic Gothic Horror or playing D&D. Leatherwitch 'Beast inside' digital single is out now and it's limited edition debut 7inch version is available 'First Spell' CD version features a scorching rendition of Helloween 'Walls of Jericho/ Ride the Sky' and the vinyl version contains a cover of Manowar's crushing classic 'Black Wind Fire and Steel' as exclusive bonus tracks. The Witch is Dead, Long Live the Witch ! Leatherwitch 'First Spell' was mixed by Olof Wikstrand (ENFORCER), and features special guest, guitarist Giuseppe Taormina (ELLENDE, ex-CRYSTAL VIPER). From the mind of Gore Metal pioneer Matt Harvey, LEFT TO DIE pays homage to Chuck Schuldiner's revolutionary Metal band, DEATH.
Initium Mortis, the upcoming new album from LEFT TO DIE, sees the DEATH-inspired supergroup—including original DEATH members Terry Butler (OBITUARY) and Rick Rozz (MASSACRE)—joining Harvey (EXHUMED, GRUESOME) and Gus Rios (GRUESOME) to capture DEATH's deep, die-hard-only catalog.
Featuring tracks like Arcangel, Witch of Hell, and Legion of Doom expertly executed in the now, Initium Mortis is a must-have for DEATH fans and collectors alike.
"For Initium Mortis we wanted Death fans who had never heard these demo songs to hear them with good production," says Harvey. "Most of these early demos were poor quality, often recorded on a boom box, so by the time someone got a demo through tape trading it was almost inaudible!
We think these tracks are a good representation of the birth of Mantas/Death. This is ground zero - where it all started: three 15 year-old kids creating Death Metal history, and even within these choice cuts from the demo days you can hear the evolution of the music."
"Left To Die went from a thought to doing a full US tour in about 3 months! Pretty remarkable if you ask me," says Butler. "We wanted to play the early material for the fans that weren't able to see the first albums in a live setting. There are many young fans at our shows that are hearing the foundation that DEATH stands on to this day live for the first time! With Matt channeling the best Chuck Schuldiner out there and Gus playing the material perfectly and respectfully we hit the road and haven't looked back."
Ultimately, LEFT TO DIE celebrates a seminal band and the camaraderie of the genre's most extreme corner of music. "First off I would like to thank Gus, Matt and Terry for making Left To Die happen. It's been an honor and pleasure working with them for the past few years and beyond," says Rozz. "It's really cool to be able to hear these tunes from 1984 properly! Old-school Death fans are going to dig this release. Cheers & Peace."

Legendary band Lightning Bolt's Wonderful Rainbow is one of the most quintessential albums to come from the underground in the last 20 years. Included in lists like Pitchfork's "200 top albums of the 2000s" and the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, Lightning Bolt's seminal record solidified their place as pillars of the underground community. Wonderful Rainbow saw the duo of Brian Chippendale (drums/vocals) and Brian Gibson (bass) being compared to the likes of Slayer, Ornette Coleman, and early Boredoms, and captured the bristling, immeasurable energy of their mythical live shows, which continue to astonish audiences today. The album's now iconic artwork (drawn by Chippendale) mirrors the music's curious and exhilarating blend of chaos, noise, intense beauty and childlike wonderment. Lightning Bolt paved the way for countless artists who followed them, cracking the noise-rock and underground scenes wide open with an album as frenetic and violent as it is overflowing with joyful abandon.

40th Anniversary Edition. Few bands captured the theatrical danger, speed, and raw electricity of mid-'80s American metal quite like Lizzy Borden. The Murderess Metal Road Show documents the band at a moment when everything was clicking-songs sharpened by the stage, performances fueled by chaos, and a reputation that was spreading fast through the Los Angeles metal underground.Recorded live at Chuck Landis' Country Club in Reseda, California on Friday, December 13, 1985, this album arrived astonishingly early in the band's career-just one EP and one studio album in. Instead of waiting years to issue a live release, Lizzy Borden chose to capture the intensity of their shows while the danger still felt real. The result is one of the most overlooked but essential live metal albums of the era.The set explodes out of the gate with "Council for the Cauldron, " instantly locking into fast, aggressive California metal driven by razor-sharp riffs and Lizzy's unmistakable voice-part Halford scream, part Dickinson drama, part pure menace. Tracks like "Warfare, " "No Time to Lose, " and "Psychopath" showcase a band firing on all cylinders, while the theatrical pairing of "Psychopath" into "Love You to Pieces" mirrors the band's infamous stage show, where shock, story, and performance were inseparable. The album also includes a blistering cover of Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die, " recorded years before Guns N' Roses made the song famous, as well as "(Wake Up) Time to Die, " inspired by the cult sci-fi classic Blade Runner. The show closes with "American Metal, " a song that would go on to become the most frequently performed track of Lizzy Borden's career-and the perfect anthem to end a live set built on volume, spectacle, and conviction. This Metallic Gold edition presents The Murderess Metal Road Show as a deluxe 2-LP gatefold vinyl release, limited to 400 copies worldwide. Featuring the full live performance across two LPs, this edition captures the raw power, theatrical intensity, and larger-than-life presence of Lizzy Borden at their mid-'80s peak. The audio has been mastered for vinyl by Rob Colwell (Helstar, Voivod, Lizzy Borden, Starwood), delivering power, clarity, and punch while preserving the raw live atmosphere. Officially licensed from Metal Blade Records, this marks the first time The Murderess Metal Road Show has ever been reissued on vinyl.Seventeen tracks are included in total, with tracks 16-17 being studio recordings, rounding out the release with added depth and historical context. A live document of Lizzy Borden in the band's theatrical prime-young, hungry, raw, aggressive, and unforgettable. This isn't nostalgia; it's the show.

Lockhart is a new melodic rock/AOR band from Canada, fusing synthesizer-fueled '80s arena rock with classic hard rock. The trio consists of Devon Kerr (vocals, guitars, keyboards), Jason Junop (bass), and Fabio Alessandrini (drums). Jason is best known for his work with Cauldron and Goat Horn. Devon's main band is Axxion, while Fabio plays-or has played-in Bonfire, Enforcer, Annihilator, Hardline, and many others. Lockhart released their debut EP, No Chance, in 2022, followed by the single "City Pulse" in 2025. The band has since signed with High Roller Records, and their first full-length album, City Pulse, is ready to be unleashed upon the public. It's hard to describe Lockhart's specific sound in detail, but City Pulse clearly showcases influences from Journey, Boston, Toto, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, and perhaps even Starcastle. Tracks such as "The Dose That Made You Poison," "Under Fire," "Before the Fall," and "Together as None" are well constructed and flawlessly performed.

Featuring ex-Vio-lence guitarist Robb Flynn fronting the band and contributing personal and politically charged lyrics with riffs a-plenty, Machine Head's 1994 debut Burn My Eyes was a massive hit especially in Europe and led to the band joining Slayer on tour and headlining their own soon thereafter. There's a reason this was the best-selling record on the Roadrunner label till Slipknot's first; the "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast" refrain to the album-opening song "Davidian" (inspired by the 1993 Waco Siege) is brilliant and chilling, full of the rage that led to that bloody day with menacing music to match. The rest of the record doesn't let up, either... this is one thundering, furious, glorious assault of an album, to which we've added five bonus demo tracks on this remastered and expanded 2-LP version. Songwriter and vocalist Peppi Marchello was the founder of the legendary Long Island hard rock/AOR outfit The Good Rats. The band amassed an enormous regional following but never managed to break through on a nationwide scale. By 1984, The Good Rats were history, and Peppi Marchello turned his attention to a solo album. Before long, Marchello teamed up with his son Gene, an up-and-coming guitarist in his own right. The project was initially intended to be called Popzarocca, but CBS Records felt it was wiser for Marchello senior to remain behind the scenes as songwriter and producer, placing the spotlight on Gene as the band's guitarist and vocalist. In March 1989, Marchello's debut album Destiny hit the shelves, combining high-quality AOR and melodic heavy rock with Gene's impressive fretboard skills. The song "First Love" was chosen as the lead single and received heavy rotation on MTV. Today, Destiny is widely regarded as a forgotten gem of the genre.

Hopeless Hopes is MARTYR's legendary debut full-length album. Originally self-released in 1997, Hopeless Hopes changed the landscape of the technical Death Metal scene. From the onset of Hopeless Hopes, MARTYR's penchant for creating intricate, meticulously written technical Death Metal is palpable. Tempo changes, melodic guitar leads, and dual harmonies are scattered throughout. Featuring band members aged between 17 and 23 at the time, Hopeless Hopes shines with creativity and exploration. It's no wonder that members here went on to play in other Canadian landmark bands such as Voivod, Gorguts, Despised Icon, and many more.Guitarists Daniel Mongrain and Pier-Luc Lampron present a tight and vicious guitar tandem. They inject loads of variation and subtleties in their riffs, moving from blistering speed attacks to mid-paced standard crunching effectively, giving the album great dynamics. Bassist Francois Mongrain shreds underneath it all. Drummer Francois Richard accompanies the band perfectly.Available on CD and vinyl for the first time in over 10 years, the classic debut is fully remixed and remastered.

On the legendary Warp Zone album, Canada's MARTYR created a unique atmosphere that constantly shifted between aggression and melancholy. The band's technical ability greatly aided their varied musical transitions and choices.Tempo changes are extremely common, and they unsettle while keeping things interesting. Dan and Francois Mongrain’s vocals shift from chant-like belting to the classic guttural death metal growl of the time. Lampron and Dan Mongrain's guitar work is impeccable here, and they effortlessly switch between quick, precise melodies and crushing riffs. Patrice Hamelin’s drumming has no trouble keeping up, and his primal, brutal sound often keeps the album grounded. Francois Mongrain’s bass work is rock-solid, and helps drive the tracks forward.Originally released in 2000, Warp Zone is available on CD and vinyl for the first time in over 10 years. The classic sophomore album is fully remixed and remastered.
