Eartheater's seventh album, Heavenly Body: If I'm the Bottle You're the Message, is as personal as it is universal. Exploring the pregnant body as a vessel for something greater than itself, it's an intimate look at what it means to carry and birth another human. It's a record of deep introspection, peeing in cups, and pregnancy sex. A mix of dance lullabies, post - wave b angers, prismatic anthems, and stadium - stretching art - pop, Heavenly Body offers a new chapter in Drewchin's already deep discography. While it's the singular experience of one woman, versatile composer, singer, producer, and multi - instrumentalist, Alexandr a Drewchin, Heavenly Body explores the feelings other people have experienced, in other ways, without having to be a parent.

Matriarch of the Berlin techno scene, Ellen Allien delivers a powerful statement with her latest album, New Life. The record explores themes of personal autonomy, community responsibility, and the destructive forces threatening our planet's beauty. Recorded between Berlin, Miami, and Ibiza over the past winters, the album channels ideas of empowerment, anarchy, and collective action. It is a call to dismantle failing systems while embracing regeneration, growth, and renewed hope through self-determination. Through her signature forward-thinking techno, Ellen explores the beauty of the ocean and humanity's impact on it, creating immersive sonic landscapes designed to unite and build community on dance floors. The result is music that delivers light through darkness. Her spoken-word passages emerge like signals from another world, with her distinctive voice shaping an otherworldly sonic experience. This is emotional rave music, weaving together elements of minimal, darkwave, and hypnotic euphoria into a vibrant, cohesive journey. Richly textured soundscapes run throughout the record: birds sing, waves crash, and spacecraft glide through a Berlin night sky. Within this darkness lies space to explore the beauty of a world that exists between dusk and sunrise.

On revelations of divine love, Jason Calhoun's fifth release for Dear Life Records, Calhoun has assembled an especially potent album of work that whirrs, hums, and glows. Unlike his recent output centered around extended, hypnotic compositions, the fourteen tracks here immediately request your attention and curiosity. Their concision only underscores one of his greatest strengths: the ability to capture an evaporating, fleeting moment, and hold it close. The title is a nod to British Anchoress Julian of Norwich, whose collected writing of the same title is the earliest of any woman written in English. Here it serves as a unifying theme for Calhoun's particular palette of restless textures and tentative melodies. This is personal music, to be sure, but it also feels tactile, almost taffy-like in it's presentation-and with such a potent combination, it is hard to resist a smile while listening. Like when the insistent pulse grounding 'last one' suddenly changes color as yawning tones reveal themselves, or how 'eye dilation' tiptoes into the room with each note sounding like a carefully chosen step. Though never precious or fussy, the album remains resolutely intimate.Calhoun puts it plainly: "Julian of Norwich says "'All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well'. These days, I've been having my doubts that this is true. As no solution to the issue at hand, I look for the revelations of divine love in my life, and I find them-in my partner asleep on the floor in our studio, my survival of a social interaction with a stranger, being bad at chess. Don't ask me what they mean-I'm still figuring that out myself. Maybe we can figure it out together." It is from this place of doubt, searching, and openness that the album finds it's footing. When asked about the origin of the album's cover art, Calhoun explained, "I see this spot all the time on my commute home from work". A true statement of how the mundane and meaningful are interwoven, from someone who celebrates that union better than most. Unlike Julian of Norwich, Calhoun is no hermetic mystic himself-but in his daily life he works at an oncology center, doing routine but necessary work to provide treatment for those in need of it. While he might resist any analogizing, it is sincerely easy to say that Calhoun's body of work, which is only fortified by revelations of divine love, also offers care and company.

An abandoned cathedral. A gruesome murder. A powerful supernatural entity living in the catacombs. It all comes to a head in downtown Los Angeles. What will happen and who will live to tell the tale? Such is the storyline of Cathedral, the thrilling new album and terrifying graphic novel from director and musician John Carpenter, based on a dream Carpenter had in 2024. Cathedral has all the drama, dark atmosphere, and frenetic pacing of a classic heavy metal record. Especially designed as the soundtrack to the graphic novel, each track corresponds to a specific section of the book. The liner notes included with the album packaging feature prompts for each track, creating a fully interactive experience. Combined with the graphic novel, it’s the closest thing to a new John Carpenter film in years. The music on Cathedral retains all the eerie atmosphere and sinister propulsion of the epochal scores Carpenter created for his films Halloween, The Fog, and Assault on Precinct 13, but this is a much heavier, riff-driven enterprise. Carpenter is a firm believer that music plays a major role in what really makes something scary. That’s first and foremost,” the director says. “It’s all about making the music work.” “This is somewhat different sounding stuff that we’ve done, but it’s done with the same desire in mind,” he adds. “In other words, put this thing on and imagine you’re watching a movie. That’s what we want you to do.” Daniel Davies’ soaring, snaky guitars take center stage on opener “Primeval,” “Elevator,” and the metal masterpiece “Lord of the Underground” while John Carpenter and Cody Carpenter’s synths take the lead on the ominous “Desolation in the Underworld,” the plaintive “Death of the Mapmaker,” and even converge with strings on “Abandoned Cathedral.” Whereas the Lost Themes albums were written as scores to movies of the mind, Cathedral scores the first original graphic novel written by Carpenter, his wife and long-time creative partner, producer and editor Sandy King, and writer Sean Sobczak, published by Storm King Comics. As with all of Carpenter’s musical forays of the last decade-plus, the album will be released by Sacred Bones. Cathedral awaits. Immerse yourself in John Carpenter’s universe all over again.

Kassel Jaeger (aka François J. Bonnet) returns to Shelter Press after Swamps / Things (SP119), Shifted in Dreams (SP144), and the recent reissue of the classicZauberberg (SP068), co-composed with Akira Rabelais and Stephan Mathieu. With this major new album, entitled Sub Re, Bonnet continues his long exploration of the musical possibilities of sound, extending the concrete approach developed at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (the historic and essential Parisian studio that Bonnet has been directing since 2018) and revitalizing it through an exposition that focuses less on the clear manifestation of sound material than on it's ambiguous evocation.Sub re, in Latin, can mean "under the thing, under the substance, under the matter." It's precisely this direct approach to music, drawing on the extraction of raw sound material, that forms the basis of this album. Under the matter thus signals the concrete aspect of music, but not the concrete that is transfigured, becoming vapor and form, the substrate of an idea. Rather, it signals the concrete beneath the concrete, in the immanence of sounds, in their becoming, as a driving force, like a tide, like a vault of imperious and powerful matter. To achieve this, Bonnet draws on a multitude of sound sources (acoustic, electronic, natural or artificial, created on purpose or found by chance) and a plurality of contexts and occasions to give them form. The movement, a shell, a bell, a spell, for example, was heard for the first time during a concert organized in Venice in connection with Latifa Echakhch's contribution to the Swiss Pavilion at the 2022 Art Biennale, while the last movement on the record, signalmirror, concluded a piece presented at the first Sound Biennale in Sion (Switzerland) in 2023. These elements, formed and detached from their original context of appearance, of the places and people who made them possible and listened to them, contribute to a complex layering of climates and sonic worlds and help create a contrasting album, where density and tenuity coexist in a succession of moving waves, sometimes laden with memories, sometimes filled with regrets, always set in motion by their own morphology.Sub Re also refers to a chapter in Victor Hugo's Toilers of the Sea, a key passage in which the main character, faced with a colossal task, finds himself alone in the middle of the sea, beneath a gigantic shipwreck caught in the jaws of an isolated reef, surrounded by water, currents, and winds, alone to face the impossible. It is indeed beneath the surface that actions arise, decisions are made, and intuition guides us.

This is the age of post-factual lies, which is reflected in Mesh's album title "The Truth Doesn't Matter" and a dark undertone that occasionally seeps into their new songs. What remains entirely true is the fact that the UK duo has a nearly uncanny knack for writing electronic hits that are as elegant as they are captivating. "The Truth Doesn't Matter" bursts out like a sparkling firework while subtly referencing three decades of electronic music spanning from GIORGIO MORODER, YAZOO, and DEPECHE MODE via GARBAGE and MASSIVE ATTACK to more contemporary artists. At the same time, Mesh always maintain their easily recognisable and unique musical identity as well as the trademark sounds that they have cultivated since their beginnings in the early nineties. With "The Truth Doesn't Matter", Mesh climb yet another rung on the ladder leading to electronic music heaven. Each song wriggles it's way happily into the brain and sticks around leading to spontaneous whistling of melodies and the public singing of extremely catchy chorus lines. You have been warned: "The Truth Doesn't Matter" is highly infectious and leads to a happier life!

Written and recorded between London and New York from 2019 to 2025, The Living Likeness Of My Electric Daemon finds MIRACLE, the duo of Steve Moore and Daniel O’Sullivan, at their most distilled and uncompromising.
Mixed by Moore and mastered by James Plotkin, the album unfolds as a ten-part song cycle navigating illusion and embodiment, ecstasy and annihilation, devotion and domination, the ancient and the algorithmic. The electric daemon is both an inner familiar and an externalized intelligence: the soul in the machine and the machine in the soul. The record asks not whether technology is sentient, but whether we are becoming its living likeness.
The album’s artwork, created by Turner Prize nominee Mark Titchner, presents a cybernetic mutation of the classical Pietà: Madonna and Jesus are rendered in rubbery black PVC-like material, segmented and articulated with zips, evoking devotion and corporeal fragility refracted through a synthetic, technological lens.
Musically, the album deepens MIRACLE’s singular synthesis of devotional pop, kosmische propulsion and gothic minimalism. Moore’s lattice of analogue and digital synthesisers pulses and corrodes in equal measure. O’Sullivan’s voice moves between incantation and intimacy, hymnal and wounded.
Tracks like “Ambrosia” sets a devotional tone, steeped in alchemical and cellular imagery, where spirit is embedded in matter and matter longs for transfiguration. “Consolamentum Day” draws on the annihilation of the Cathars in southern France, reframing medieval persecution as a recurring psychic event. On “Fluid Window,” with guest vocals by Rose Keeler-Schaffeler (KEEL-HER), the apple becomes touchscreen icon. The Living Likeness Of My Electric Daemon invokes the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea, refracted through the black mirror of the 21st century.
If earlier releases suggested a haunted jukebox, The Living Likeness Of My Electric Daemon feels like a chapel wired directly into a mainframe.

Future Quiet signals a new chapter for one of electronic music’s most enduring and visionary artists. Encompassing modern piano minimalism, ambient soundscapes and a smattering of vocal collaborations, the album finds Moby reflecting on the tension between hyper-connected modern life and the deep human need for stillness. Moby elaborates, “Future Quiet is, not surprisingly, quiet. To be clear, I love bombast. I love excess and volume. But as the world gets louder and crazier I find myself needing the refuge of quiet, both as a listener and as a musician. For me, and hopefully for others, Future Quiet is a refuge. The world, self-evidently, is more demanding than it’s ever been. The world screams at us, our screens scream at us, other people scream at us, and to retreat from the screaming we need safety and refuge. That for me is the goal of Future Quiet. Writing and recording it was a refuge for me, and I hope that listening to it is a refuge for you.”

With "Ghosts of Europa", the enigmatic Norwegian artistic entity known as Mortiis presents an album that he views as a creative liberation. "Ghosts of Europa" is the sonic testimony of an experienced and matured musician, who created what he loves most and does best: electronic rock with stylistic influences from many genres while not being bound by any that creates dark soundscapes, cinematic sonic visions, and a plethora of emotions. Of course, Mortiis' musical handwriting is ever present. Echoes from the often quite divergent phases of his previous works can be found across "Ghosts of Europa". Yet the creator of musical worlds left hardly a stone not turned in his epic quest for genuinely new ways of expression. As a result, this cinematic and visionary album often feels expansive, strange, and darkly dystopian. In this, "Ghosts of Europa" reflects it's maker's struggles while creating the album - as for Mortiis, these tend to come into existence at the cost of friendships and relationships as well as much soul searching in order to reflect both, the album's general orientation towards electronic and industrial rock as well as the particularly wide range of stylistic influences reaching beyond it's core, the choice of sound engineer fell on a most renowned specialist for precisely such sonic experiences: Luckily, Sean Beavan agreed to mix "Ghosts of Europa". Nia Archives returns with Emotional Junglist, an album about love – but not just the shimmering romantic parts. Written throughout 2025 – a year that saw Nia fall in, and horrifically back out of, love – each track will encompass something of the experience. Marking her biggest sonic leap to date, her alt-jungle sound honed alongside James Ford, Ethan P. Flynn and Julia Michaels, will see her flirt with everything from dewy-eyed indie pop and nineties electronica, underscored by the syncopated beats and thudding basslines of her jungle roots with a tracklist that features Jorja Smith and Sampha. The motif for the album is a shell – tough on the outside, but through pressure, maturation and resilience, something precious is built within. Nodding to the female form, the spiral chamber also symbolizes growth and self-development. UPC: 602488353083Label: IslandRelease Date: 7.24.26Format: CD
