By the time Michael Nau completed Popfly, the songs felt less like compositions than companions. Arriving in fragments, notebook lines, and fleeting observations, these pieces kept company for years until taking their final form. The result is one of Nau's most openhearted, expansive records, both homespun and otherworldly at once. Radiant folk melodies, tape-warped textures, and flashes of everyday wonder coexist in perfect balance on Popfly.Nau has never been a songwriter who forces songs into existence. Instead, he follows them, trusting intuition over agenda and allowing songs to gradually reveal themselves. Writing and recording often blur together, with melodies evolving before lyrics are finished and stray recordings forming the basis for new songs. Popfly showcases these creative detours: thoughtful folk songs, sonic experiments, and accidental beauty transformed into fully realized compositions. Many songs began at home, growing in meaning. Since he entered the Vermont studio, Little Jamaica, with longtime friend and collaborator Benny Yurco, many of them had already lived several lives. ""Studio recording feels like covering my own songs,"" Nau says. This idea flows throughout: performances are lived-in, feeling effortless, as if assembling itself. The title track carries a flicker of wonder in it's simple observations. ""New Slack"" moves with the loose confidence of a song content to follow it's own path. On ""Lost Station Hideaway,"" soft static and fading signals become something strangely comforting, as if the song itself is being broadcast from somewhere just beyond reach.Family and friendship are deeply woven throughout the record. Nau's children contribute vocals, bringing warmth and spontaneity to the album's communal spirit, with longtime collaborator and wife Whitney McGraw lending her serene voice. The harmonies that drift from them extend the album's central impulse of people gathering to make something beautiful.Across Popfly, loose-limbed folk songs mingle with homespun psych-pop, porchside country-folk, dreamlike atmospherics, and quietly profound observations. The record moves with the ease of conversation among old friends, finding beauty in tiny revelations, strange coincidences, and everyday mysteries. The record is full of transmissions from different moments in Nau's life, stitched together by instinct, affection, and time. Taken together, they form a portrait of a life spent paying close attention to the world and it's small miracles.

Welcome back The Charities, a sweet soul-loving 5 piece from sunny California. They are back on Colemine with their second 45, and lots more on the way. The A-side, 'Movin' on,' is a song written by good friend of the band and producer Anthony Masino. Tracked and mixed at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, CA, the song is a breakup classic. Full of soul, it's a hard reflection of life's decisions. A powerful song that gets straight to the point; both sonically sad and triumphant. On the B is "I'm Still Learning How." Heavily inspired by many great 60s songs featuring two-part harmonies, the song expresses that love is a learning curve. Just because things don't work out initially doesn't mean you can't grow and learn.

US jazz organist Holmes started his recording career in the early 1960s, turning out a succession of beautiful albums that mined the soul-jazz groove - hence his nickname. He signed to Flying Dutchman in 1975. Producer Bob Thiele paired him up with legendary arranger Oliver Nelson and the result was this stunning album. The title track was written by Nelson for the popular TV show that featured Lee Majors and Holmes played the theme to perfection. The rest of the album was equally funky, with Holmes shining on tracks like 'Disc-O-Mite', 'Once Is Not Enough', 'Dumpy Mama' and 'Double Scale'. ""Six Million Dollar Man"" has been out of print on vinyl since it was originally released in America in 1975. Ace Records are delighted to put it back into record racks fully remastered and housed in a gatefold sleeve that faithfully replicates the original.

There's a moment during every great dance floor experience when the music takes over and everyone becomes part of something bigger. "SHOUT!", the latest release from 2Soulfusion Presents Ascension, captures that feeling in it's purest form. Featuring the powerhouse voices and ad-libs of Dames Brown and Dawn Tallman, along with an all-star ensemble of master vocalists including Josh Milan, Rahsaan Patterson, Lisa Fischer, Cindy Mizelle, Audrey Wheeler, Ramona Dunlap, and Lea Lorien, this joyful anthem is an invitation to let go, lift your spirit, and celebrate through music.Produced, written, arranged, and mixed by 2SoulFusion-Louie Vega and Josh Milan-"SHOUT!" draws inspiration from the communal spirit of gospel while embracing the energy and freedom of house music. Driven by simple yet powerful affirmations-"Shout," "Sing," "Move," "Love," "Get Up On Your Feet," "Listen Up," and "Let This Music Take You Higher"-the song transforms into an experience where every voice becomes part of the celebration. It's a journey of anthemic hooks, soaring harmonies, infectious grooves, and unforgettable melodies designed to ignite dance floors, uplift hearts, and remind us that music has the power to unite people through rhythm, joy, and love. The inspiration for "SHOUT!" was born from a creative exchange between Louie Vega and Charaf Tajer, founder and creative director of the internationally acclaimed fashion house Casablanca. Introduced by longtime friend Joseph Capriati, Charaf shared a bold vision-to bring together the worlds of fashion, gospel, and house music for one unforgettable Casablanca runway presentation in Paris. At first, he wanted me to DJ and play gospel house music. I said, 'Instead of playing existing music, why don't I create an original song with a gospel house flavor?' I immediately got together with my 2SoulFusion partner Josh Milan, and together we came up with 'SHOUT!'"That vision came to life during Casablanca's spectacular Paris presentation inside a breathtaking cathedral, where Louie Vega premiered the original twelve-minute and nine-second composition live. As the music echoed through the cathedral, Dames Brown joined the London House Gospel Choir in a soul-stirring performance while the models walked the aisle on Casablanca's carpet made of their signature green color and a dashing vibrating giant mirror echoing the runway visually. Renowned DJs Luciano and Chloé Caillet were among those who walked the runway, while friends of Charaf Tajer and special guests-including Jaden Thompson, Folamour, Dimitri From Paris, Kapela, and many others-were in attendance, making it an unforgettable gathering where music, spirituality, fashion, and culture merged into one extraordinary experience.Inspired by that magical evening in Paris, Louie Vega and Josh Milan returned to the studio to expand the original composition into the powerful recording heard today. Built around rich live musicianship, Josh Milan's keyboards, organ, piano, and synth bass provide the foundation alongside Axel Tosca's expressive grand piano recorded live, Sherrod Barnes' soulful guitar, and Gene Perez's unmistakable bass groove. Together they create an infectious, organic driving sound that allows the vocals to soar while delivering the unmistakable musical depth and musicianship that define 2SoulFusion.Leading the celebration are Dames Brown and Dawn Tallman, whose commanding performances are elevated by an extraordinary choir of world-class vocalists. Dames Brown's spirited sermon and ad-libs, and Dawn Tallman's powerful ad-lib vamping out, together with the soaring harmonies of Lisa Fischer, Cindy Mizelle, Audrey Wheeler, Rahsaan Patterson, Ramona Dunlap, Lea Lorien, and Josh Milan, recreate the feeling of a joyful gospel congregation-not confined to four walls, but alive on dance floors around the world. Every chorus encourages listeners to get up, listen up, feel it, sing, move, love, and become part of the experience. Recorded between Honeycomb Studios in Pennsylvania, The Hub Ibiza and Manhattan Center Studios, New York City, and mixed at The Hub Ibiza, "SHOUT!" reflects the continuing vision of the Ascension project, where spirituality, musicianship, community, fashion, and dance music become one.

From a Beaumont Bar is Pug Johnson's third full-length album and his most completecollection of heartbreak songs to date. Rooted in classic country storytelling, the recorddraws from the bars, backroads, and late nights that shaped him, turning years of livedexperience into songs full of regret, humor, longing, and hard-earned perspective.
Written with the benefit of hindsight, these stories don't try to rewrite the past—they simplytell it. From barroom anthems and dancehall shuffles to slow-burning ballads, From aBeaumont Bar captures the moments after love has gone wrong, when all that's left ismemory, acceptance, and another round.
While Beaumont, Texas provides the backdrop, the album's themes reach far beyond oneplace. It's a record about heartbreak in all its forms, told with the wit, warmth, and honestythat have become Pug Johnson's calling card. Rich with pedal steel, fiddle, accordion, andtimeless country grooves, From a Beaumont Bar is both a tribute to traditional countrymusic and a reminder that the best songs don't just tell stories—they make you feel likeyou've lived them.

Produced by Chance McCoy (Old Crow Medicine Show), Shaving A Dead Man embraces and exuberates in old-time Appalachian folk music. Featuring dark Appalachian fiddle & banjo, Americana gothic drones, and whimsically macabre artwork. The repertoire is heirloom, but newcomers to the old-time genre will hear a hypnotic snap & sway in the silvery plunk of JP's banjo, a spectral, bluesy emotion in McCoy's fiddle, & songs with lyrics that conjure something mythical, mysterious, and sometimes murderous.""This album offers an identifiable element to people who want to access old-time, not necessarily through Smithsonian field recordings. I'm not just some museum-quality reproduction piece. Planting this flag in the mud is saying that I'm still a fringe element, even if I am a traditional roots musician. It makes it identifiable to the next generation of little weird music kids like me."" - JP Harris

Kings of USBM WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM have returned with sharpened teeth. Their new album Estuary carries the hallmark of their unyielding dedication to the physical craft and analog production techniques. Estuary is their most ferocious and genre-bending record to date.
Nathan Weaver (lead vocals, guitars) comments: “Our new album Estuary takes place 1,000 years in the future, after the death of civilization. I've always felt such calm at the idea of humanity vanishing from the world, and nature reclaiming everything. I dream of being alone in this setting and experiencing total calm and peace. This has been a recurring theme in all of Wolves’ music but for Estuary, it is at the forefront.”
Resonant with that hardwiring; Estuary is rawer, more volatile with the storming sensuality of noisy industrial elements, evolving through the domain of warm rain, majestic forests and diffused starlight. Massive percussion and seething gothic guitars wipe the listener’s psyche clear of all stagnation, transforming them into active, evolutionary conduits.
Estuary explores the tension and networking between stillness and noise, animal and machine, elementals and electricity, and the awakening sophistication implicit in our mysterious origin. Weaver says: “If wilderness overcame the cities in the future, the estuaries would be realms of power and magic. Within the album's world-building, the estuaries are key nexus points where magic has taken on physical form. Spirits good and evil walk the earth.”
Take the track “Ghosts Among the Obelisks" - a warrior journeys from the lowlands of the old world to a mountain sanctuary, passing through forgotten ruins haunted by ancient spirits. The earth patiently reclaims what was once conquered, while the distant memory of the old world has faded into myth. Elsewhere, "Knights of Tiamat" explores temples of the ancient future that feed on repurposed electrical grids pulsing with new magic. The spirit of place takes new forms. Kody Keyworth (guitars) says: “I had a dream two years ago while we were on tour in Germany. In the distant future, the small number of humans who remained were in small tribes that deeply revered and worshiped gigantic, decrepit wind turbine towers. Without knowing what these structures were or their purpose, these people placed immense importance on one of the last remaining structures of industrialized society. The new religions and mythology that would be created from this fascinated me, I found it deeply moving and it helped inspire an imagining of what that world would entail for mankind after the fall.”
Estuary was produced by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, with touring bassist Galen Baudhuin (Aridus, Street Tombs) dropping the low-end into a devastating sub-terrain. The bulk of the album was recorded at the band’s own Owl Lodge studio in Olympia, Washington, with drums tracked by Nicholas Wilbur at The Unknown (a converted former church in Anacortes, Washington).

Songs for Sinners is an album about the push and pull of belief: running toward something, running away from it, and living in the charged space between the two. Throughout this LP — his second solo album and first in six years — Moses Boyd doesn’t preach or offer answers. Instead, he makes a record that treats faith as something deeply personal, unstable and human — a force that can comfort, unsettle, divide and restore. Gospel is part of the language, but not the whole sentence. Across a vocal-heavy set that folds together jazz, soundsystem culture, 808s, choir harmonies and Caribbean rhythm, Boyd asks what sacred music can sound like without arbitrary rules boxing it in.
Boyd is already one of the most inventive figures in music: a MOBO Award winner, Mercury Prize-shortlisted artist and a drummer, composer and producer who has spent years expanding the possibilities of jazz without ever treating the genre as a museum piece. A decade after “Rye Lane Shuffle” helped introduce his restless imagination to a wider audience, Songs for Sinners feels like a return and a leap forward — an album that reintroduces Boyd as a brilliant player and singular artist with a vision that reaches beyond category.
Musically, Songs for Sinners is as open-ended as its themes. It is gospel-influenced, but not in the traditional sense. The album moves through different textures with ease: bruised jazz chords, bass-heavy soundsystem weight, electronic pulses, organ swells, handclaps, choral lift and moments of raw, communal singing.

The album moves through different textures with ease: bruised jazz chords, bass-heavy soundsystem weight, electronic pulses, organ swells, handclaps, choral lift and moments of raw, communal singing.

Revered worldwide for their love-fueled, technically adventurous all-vinyl b2b DJ sets, Maya Bouldry-Morrison (Octo Octa) and Eris Drew conceived Alchemical Sisters as a vehicle for creating music together. Alchemical Sisters describe themselves as "psychedelic chaos, acid rollers, and big beat, channeled through hardware instruments and animated by love, touch, rhythm, and spiritual fire." "Alchemical Sisters" was recorded in the forests of New Hampshire by Maya and Eris and mixed by BMG in Detroit in the Interdimensional Laboratory on high end hardware for ecstatically euphonic results. In the cold winter months, Maya and Eris emptied the master bedroom of their forest cabin and sealed it as an alchemical retort-a hermetic vessel in which a higher form could emerge. For a year they slept on the studio floor while, in white nightgowns and under the spell of mushrooms, they brought dulcimers and ancestral instruments into communion with turntables, twentieth-century machines, and new technologies. Alchemical Sisters is the substance crystallized within that vessel by their secret fire. They then brought their music to BMG in Detroit to meticulously mix their vision through hardware, in a high end studio environment. For two weeks at the height of winter, we shut out the world and focused on fusing their sonic vision within the Interdimensional Laboratory.Setting up their computer and sound card, BMG processed their tracking sessions through a high end mixing console, using transformers and tubes and the special properties of many machines to create a solid visceral sound out of a dream, to create a powerful euphonic ecstatic experience from their highly personal highly evolved music, whose sources could be both carnal and celestial. It was important to have their music connect before thought, to feel both the power and the gentleness of their sound, to have the texture and presence of their myriad influences unconsciously affect you. Watching them work together, the patience, the focus, the rigorous thought and discipline, the love, the space and the dedication afforded to each other was a genuinely inspiring thing to witness. They truly are Alchemical Sisters, and we are extremely proud to share their debut album on IT, and their debut performance at IT's Samhain XXVI. It truly is a loop point in time, a full circle moment. UPC: 8718723326339Label: InterdimensionalRelease Date: 10.23.26Format: Vinyl
4 Dear Life, the fourth studio album from multi-platinum indie/alternative trailblazer Gus Dapperton, arrives via ALTER Music on October 23, 2026. An independent artist for the first time in years, at the close of his twenties, he felt like he needed a clean slate to find his musical practice again. The result is inspired by his life in NYC - DJing and dancing between clubs and bars in Manhattan and Brooklyn, settling into an apartment, building routines, and the community around him. Pairing dance-driven production with his signature songwriting, the album may sound like a departure from his previous work, but it's his most honest and grounded to date. 4 Dear Life isn't about escaping the world, it's about finding enough joy to live in it. The album releases alongside Standard LP on dusk vinyl, Indie-Exclusive LP on starburst vinyl, and digipak CD.
