Ireneo Fuser was born in Carbonera (Treviso) on 12 November 1902. In 1925, he graduated in organ at the Liceo musicale «Benedetto Marcello» in Venice under the tuition of Oreste Ravanello and later specialized in Rome with Fernando Germani. In 1927, he graduated in piano at the Conservatory in Parma and, in 1935, in composition at the Conservatory in Florence. In 1928, he won the competition to succeed Ulisse Matthey as organist at the Sanctuary of Loreto, a position he did not hold, however. He undertook a brilliant concert career that was marked by a broad repertoire, refined recording skills, great virtuosity, and musical sensitivity that made him one of the most important Italian organists of his generation. From the 1940s onwards, he has given organ recitals for Swiss radio and RAI in live or recorded Sunday programmes in Rome and Turin, which have been on the broadcast schedules for more than twenty years. At the same time, he carried out teaching activities first at the Licei musicali in Venice and Pescara and then in Bologna, where he was established in 1939 as an organ teacher at the Institute that three years later would become the Conservatorio «G. B. Martini». A firm believer in the phonic excellence of the ancient Italian organ, he shaped his activity with the noble aim of enhancing the glorious period of Italian musical art of the past; among his countless musicological works, the anthology «Classici italiani dell'organo» (1955) is still considered a reference work today. Leonardo Garcia-Alarcon's first major composition, La Passione di Gesu, is a "canonical labyrinth in the form of an oratorio," a tribute to counterpoint and to all the composers who have magnified this art, Johann Sebastian Bach foremost among them. Inspired by the Gospel of Judas, it is a passion for our times, which gives a special place to the figure of the apostle who betrayed Christ, and to the women who surrounded him. With his ensemble Cappella Mediterranea and a team of loyal and highly committed soloists, the Argentine conductor invites us on an extraordinary journey in the form of a labyrinthine tale - a la Jorge Luis Borges, another source of inspiration - crossing languages, styles and instruments, both modern and ancient, including, of course, the bandoneon: "The coded instructions that accompany the sung text are like puzzles to be solved to help the listener find their way out of the labyrinth-or not," concludes Leonardo Garcia-Alarcon. Andres Gabetta (violin & direction), Veronica Cangemi, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi (bandoneon and accordion), and the Gabetta Consort present From Venice to Buenos Aires, a remarkable journey from 18th-century Venice to the streets of Buenos Aires. Anchored by Vivaldi's dazzling concertos and the fiery passion of Astor Piazzolla's Maria de Buenos Aires, the album traces Italian music across centuries and continents. Luca Salvadori's inventive compositions, including the commissioned Overture: Tango-Baroque and Mater Maria, weave Baroque structures with Nuevo Tango rhythms, creating a breathtaking dialogue between old and new.The album is a tribute to women, with Maria as a common thread. From the violin concerto dedicated to Anna Maria, to Piazzolla's arias written for female voices, to the evocative works by Salvadori, the album celebrates feminine presence, strength, and artistry across time and styles. The recording also features operatic gems by Bononcini and Vinci, alongside Piazzolla's expressive arias, from the defiant "Yo soy Maria" to a tender Ave Maria arranged for violin, bandoneon, and soprano. From Venice to Buenos Aires is a vibrant, immersive exploration of music's power to tell stories across worlds - where sacred and secular, past and present meet in melodies both timeless and exhilarating. In 2003 Andrew Bird removed himself from the noise of city life in Chicago to work on his music in a barn in rural Illinois. The result was a career-defining record exploring childhood, creativity, and science with wit, precision, and ambition. The Mysterious Production of Eggs crystallized Bird's signature style and introduced the live-looping ingenuity that would define his performances for decades. Two decades later, it's influence still resonates throughout the indie world, inspiring artists and audiences alike. This year, Bird marks the milestone with a limited edition boxset, a re-issue of the original album, and anniversary tour, performing Eggs in full alongside the world's foremost symphony orchestras proving that some mysteries only grow richer with time. Alongside the 3LP deluxe boxset, Bird is re-issuring the beloved album garnished with deluxe reimagined artwork by longtime collaborator Jay Ryan, whose whimsical artwork graced the original and is a crucial part of it's lore.

In 2005, Andrew Bird was a previously unimaginable combination of virtuoso violinist, singer-songwriter, guitarist, and whistler. With that year's album The Mysterious Production of Eggs, his second on Righteous Babe Records, Bird minted a new sound that continues to be imitated and set down classic songs that still anchor many a live performance. The recording sessions lived up to the name when he recorded and scrapped the album three times, traveling between studios in Chicago, Los Angeles and his own home studio on a farm in Northern Illinois. The mystery was solved with the aid of David Boucher, whose studio credits at the time included Paul Westerberg, Lisa Loeb, and Randy Newman. Bird played most of the instruments on Mysterious Production of Eggs, joined by a handful of special guests complimenting his already lush sonic palette. The result was a powerhouse of a record dealing with nothing less than the mysteries of childhood, creativity and modern science-epic in scope and minute in detail.

Celebrating those who provided mentorship and momentum through his musical development, trombonist Andrew Kim's debut album offers a result that is so much more than a senior capstone project. "Lineage" is a formidable album, a testament to Kim's embrace and diligent immersion in the jazz tradition under the guidance of master musicians; most importantly, Michael Dease at Michigan State (the producer here), and lately with Marshall Gilkes at Eastman - displaying a clear sign that he's poised to benefit this living legacy through his own innovative contributions. Along with saxophonist Sharel Cassity, pianist Xavier Davis, bassist Rodney Whitaker and drummer Ulysses Owens Jr., Kim's arrangements of classics by JJ Johnson & Curtis Fuller, along with five of his own compositions, bristle and swing from the outset, delivering a listening experience full of fire, fury and fun. "Andrew Kim is a part of the current renaissance in jazz. His playing is expressive, precise and shockingly virtuosic. He is a wonder." -Randy Napoleon "He's got the chops, he's got the taste, and he's got that big golden sound. Because of that, the future of jazz trombone? Yeah, it's looking real bright." Michael Dease

50th Anniversary Edition On 180g Vinyl Double LP!Half-Speed Mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road!In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the soundtrack to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's 1970 religious rock musical and global phenomenon, Jesus Christ Superstar, is pressed on 2 180g vinyl discs with a replica card gatefold sleeve and 12-page booklet. The album was remastered by Miles Showell and Nick Davis at Abbey Road in November 2020, and half-speed mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road in the spring of 2021.In 1970, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber released Jesus Christ Superstar as a concept double album. It became a massive global best-seller, topping the US Billboard Top LPs chart in both February and May 1971, as well as ranking at number one in the year-end chart. By 1983, the album had sold over 7 million copies worldwide. However, the journey to international success was far from straightforward. As unknown names in musical theatre, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber were unable to find a producer willing to stage their ambitious idea for a religious-themed rock opera. Eventually, they persuaded MCA records to let them record the score first. Using a full orchestra, and with the outstanding talents of Ian Gillan, Murray Head, Yvonne Elliman and The Grease Band, they created a masterpiece that revolutionized the form of musical theatre.Within a year of its chart success, stage productions of Jesus Christ Superstar began to appear all over the world, leading to record-breaking runs in the West End, a hit Hollywood film, Tony nominations and Olivier Awards. Its influence and impact have not diminished: in 2018 the NBC live production of the show, starring John Legend and Sara Bareilles, resulted in Emmy Award wins for Rice and Lloyd Webber (thereby making them two of the 16 people in history to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony).A tribute to an international phenomenon, this special 50th anniversary edition is the perfect way to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Jesus Christ Superstar.FEATURES:

Pianist & composer Andrew Moorhead offers a strikingly personal suite of etudes-music born of inquiry, discipline, and risk. Conceived as a kind of private journal, these pieces explore phased time signatures, interlocking melodic cycles, and the elusive space between muscle memory and pure spontaneity. Moorhead's long pursuit of "total liberation" at the piano-having reshaped his technique after catastrophic injuries from a 47-foot fall in 2011-yields a language where skeletal gestures bloom into fluid counterpoint. The result is music that feels at once architectural and airborne. Finding the perfect bandmates in the towering bassist FranÃois Moutin, and one of the most idiosyncratic drummers in jazz, Ari Hoenig, their deep rapport generates a kinetic, almost telepathic interplay. Mirage stands as a bold trio statement-intellect and intuition in vivid balance, and a compelling new chapter in Moorhead's evolving voice. "I thought I'd heard just about every approach to the piano, then Andrew Moorhead's new album came along - it's a great reminder that true originality is still out there." Scott Kinsey "... The music is exceptional and consistently engaging. A wonderful recording." All About Jazz

Born from childhood memories of Ford F150 rides and his mother's traveling karaoke business, Andrew Sa's debut album, American Rough, represents the culmination of a lifelong obsession with the power of the human voice. After honing his craft in Chicago's independent music scene and the campy, theatrical world of the Cosmic Country Showcase, Sa collaborated with producer H.C. McEntire to bridge the gap between mid-century country-pop and contemporary indie-folk. The record is a sonic tapestry woven with pedal steel, jaunty horns, and Sa's signature "siren-like" croon, drawing inspiration from titans like Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison while being deeply informed by the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud and Ocean Vuong. More than just a genre exercise, American Rough serves as a cinematic exploration of queer intimacy and the complexities of masculinity. Sa courageously subverts the heteronormative traditions of country music, reimagining the genre through the lens of gay desire to create a space where hard bodies find each other in the dark and soften. The album invites listeners into a world of vulnerable characters and "mean handsome" figures. By centering beauty and connection, Sa tethers himself to a long-forgotten lineage of men singing about their hearts, offering a vision of manhood that is as gentle as it is resilient.

Andy Shauf’s songs unfold like short fiction: they’re densely layered with colorful characters and a rich emotional depth. On his new studio album Norm, Andy Shauf’s songwriting veers decidedly more oblique, hinting at sinister happenings and dark motivations. The result: an intoxicating collection of mellifluous melodies and beguiling lyrics. Levitating, synth-laden atmospherics drive Shauf’s storytelling on ‘Norm,’ mixed by Neal Pogue (Tyler, the Creator).
In 2016, The Party catapulted Andy Shauf to indie notoriety, followed by 2020’s The Neon Skyline which landed Andy Shauf performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS This Morning: Saturday, a Polaris Prize nomination, and mentions on several best-of lists — among them, a track on Barack Obama’s playlist and praise from Pitch- fork, The Atlantic, Esquire, Stereogum, and more.

Vinyl LP pressing includes digital download. Andy Shauf - He's a sad-sack Saskatchewanian songwriter who grew up in a tiny town (pop. 919) off the Trans-Canada Highway somewhere between Swift Current and Moose Jaw. His breakthrough album was called Bearer of Bad News. But don't feel bad for Andy Shauf. Social invitations have been pouring in from Jeff Tweedy, Nick Hornby and Low (for whom he opened two U.S. tours in 2015). The Party is a series of character sketches, ostensibly set at a specific gathering. It's not exactly a concept record or a John Hughes script for a Robert Altman film, but writing it was definitely a way for Shauf to get out of his own head. The Party will spawn no hangover regrets for it's creator, even if it's characters have more than a few. On it, awkward characters show up "Early to the Party," dance in the living room ("Martha Sways"), and either reveal life-changing secrets ("To You") or try their hardest to reveal nothing at all ("The Magician"). Fuzzed-out guitars collide with string sections and dreamy synths, all draped over delicate piano, acoustic guitars and rainy-day drums. Oh, and clarinet. On Bearer of Bad News, Shauf started out with 100 songs and whittled it down to 11. This time, with a clearer vision and narrative construct in mind, he focused on 15 and cut it to 10. Brevity is key: these vignettes are rooted in classic pop songwriting, with shades of the Shins, Belle and Sebastian and Grandaddy seeping into Shauf's modern arrangements.Track List

Saxophonist, producer, and composer Brian Allen Simon channels darker, dreamlike states under his Anenon alias on Dream Temperature, a deeply evocative album that brings electronic processing to the foreground through digitized winds and uncanny atmospherics reminiscent of his mid-to-late 2010s work. A Los Angeles native and longtime resident, Simon follows the revered Petrol (2016), Tongue (2018), and the entirely acoustic Moons Melt Milk Light (2023) with a new focus on wind synthesizer, acoustic piano, and tenor saxophone, with electronics literally driven by his breath and shaped via laptop processing, added textures, and field recordings. Across it's 31 minutes, the record moves between urban grit and pastoral drift, capturing the lingering weight of half-remembered dreams; solo and part-solo piano interludes ('Last Sun 1' and '2') cut through the haze with a tender melancholy, while pieces like 'Nulle Part 1+2' pit saxophone flourishes against noisy drones and digital detritus. Recorded at home at dusk and night between September 2024 and October 2025, Dream Temperature expands Simon's sonic universe-from the compact title track's sub-bass and digital sax rasps to the grittier 'When The Light Appears, Boy' and the enveloping ambience of 'Toyama'-with personal location recordings from Sardinia, Japan, Big Sur, and LA surfacing unexpectedly, resulting in a haunting, elegant coalescence of his electronic and acoustic practices.
