I wanted to travel / Home into somewhere," Ana Roxanne breathes across an eerie suspended drone on "The Age of Innocence". "I wanted to try / And go very far." These are the first words we hear on Poem 1 and reintroduce an artist who's in a conspicuously different phase of her life than she was when her debut album, Because of a Flower, sprouted nearly six years ago. Heartbroken and reflective, Roxanne surveys the transformations that followed and displays a new-found boldness. Her voice is naked, vulnerable and alive, no longer shrouded in tape noise or looped and echoed beyond recognition beneath layered electroacoustic textures. Throughout the course of Poem 1, Roxanne displays her skill as a singer and songwriter in the classic sense, using the limited instrumentation simply to accent her exposed tones. Muted piano phrases and plucked bass notes languidly trail her anguished siren song on "Berceuse in A-flat Minor, Op. 45", making each word count. On "Keepsake" meanwhile, she sounds as if she's alone in an abandoned bar, stroking the dust off the piano's keys as she inventories her emotional scars. There's a smell of old whisky in the air, but Poem 1 is a remarkably sober album; never wallowing in self pity, Roxanne finds catharsis in the logic of her expressions, twisting out the edges of her memories into surreal, cinematic asides. "Untitled II", the album's pronounced, uninhibited centerpiece, delivers on the Lynchian promise that's been present since her first EP, 2019's ---. "[I] always picked the slowest, saddest songs in the entire repertoire," she explained to them in 2021, recounting her teenage dream of being a jazz singer. "I would arrange them in a way that was just really slow and quiet, that was always just my vibe." Purring over a brushy, decelerated rhythm and funereal piano, Roxanne glances the edge of a hot spotlight, cutting through the stage smoke with her glassy evocations. And when she interprets the Robert Schumann's lied "Stille Tränen" on "One Shall Sleep", she turns Justinus Kerner's words into a whispered echo of her own grief, narrating the 19th century poem over syrupy synthesizers and strings. There's a light emerging on the horizon, though; burying her past on the choral standout "Cover Me", Roxanne shifts the pace and the mood on "Atonement", lifting her voice into a gentle lilt. "Running alone," she concedes at last. "Running forward and looking ahead / With a long road to go.

Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music presents Sympathy for the Madman. In 1969 the leader of British Psychedelic legends Arcadium created a project exploring the darkest edges of Progressive Folk Rock. No recordings were thought to have survived (Miguel Sergides lost all his belongings in a house fire in the '80s) until the fateful discovery of the unique Anaconda acetate LP in 2019. The LP is a revelation revealing a Stygian underworld of British Folk Rock that links Anaconda to Tea & Symphony, Forest, Lifeblud, Horizon and Comus. Predating Comus, Anaconda has a very similar sound using violins and flutes but is laced with aching melancholia and themes of alienation. It is a genuine Lost Masterpiece of Folk Rock, one of three works of genius created by Sergides - Arcadium, Anaconda and The Savanna Silver Band.

Aside from being one of Anamanaguchi's most streamed songs, "Miku," featuring the vocaloid pop star Hatsune Miku, is an anthem for a new type of musical icon, one that doesn't need to be attached to a physical human body. Miku, which was officially released in 2013, is a Vocaloid software voicebank developed by Crypton Future Media. Her voice is based around Japanese actress Saki Fujita and uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2, Vocaloid 3, and Vocaloid 4 singing synthesizing technologies. Anamanaguchi wrote "Miku" with the virtual musician and were the first band to perform live alongside the Hatsune Miku hologram on the Miku Expo tour in 2016. Since then, the song has been streamed tens of millions of times around the globe and given way to several viral TikTok moments with 20K+ unique videos, signature dance moves, and millions of views.
Consistently engaging their audience in both the real world and the virtual internet-sphere, Anamanaguchi has had TV performances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Adult Swim's Fish Center, multiple appearances at Porter Robinson's Secret Sky Fest, and co-curated one of the first major live stream events for indie musicians with the Nether Meant Festival, which was featured in the New York Times and The Washington Post. The band has also continued to stay true to a uniquely cohesive collaborative spirit, sharing tracks with artists such as HANA, Planet 1999, Flux Pavilion, Porter Robinson, Dorian Electra, Pussy Riot, Village People, and POCHI.
For 2022, Polyvinyl is proud to announce the release of Miku on vinyl for the first time. The release will feature the original composition as well as 8 bonus versions of the song including remixes from LLLL, Carpainter, Ben Aqua, Mino Mino, Lazerdisk, as well as an NES version, a Japanese version, and an instrumental version.Track List

Scott Pilgrim EX-the newest video game from the Scott Pilgrim franchise, co-written by series creator Bryan Lee O'Malley and developed by Tribute Games-is out now with an all new original soundtrack from Anamanaguchi. The sprawling 71-track soundtrack, recorded at Valve Studios in Dallas, TX with Casey di Iorio (Andre 3000, Slayer, Marvel Studios), synthesizes the band's legendary electronic origins with their fuzzed out garage rock present, while maintaining their unmistakable punchy style. Known for resonant world building across past projects, the depth of emotion and the range of styles displayed on Scott Pilgrim EX are uniquely Anamanaguchi, delivering a host of melodically anthemic and new energetic hooks that are sure to pack a punch for both newcomers and old school fans alike. Anamanaguchi's collaborative relationship with the Scott Pilgrim universe goes back to the early days of the band. After cutting their teeth programming music with playable Nintendo cartridges and helping to bring a wider audience to a largely internet based 8-bit chiptune scene, the band was brought in to score the fan-favorite soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. The success of this game soundtrack would help them to launch an early crowdfunding success story with their campaign for their debut album, 2013's Endless Fantasy. From there, the band would go on to collaborate with virtual pop star Hatsune Miku (resulting in the perpetually viral, Fortnite-featured hit, "Miku"), and later develop the intricately soundscaped compositions displayed across their second album, [USA], but throughout it all the connection between the band and the Scott Pilgrim universe would remain a pivotal source of inspiration. After being brought in to score the animated Netflix series, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, in 2023, band members Peter Berkman and Luke Silas would credit the live kinetic energy they channeled when writing songs for the in-universe garage band Sex Bob-Omb with helping them get back in touch with the roots of how they learned to play music even before Anamanaguchi's earliest releases. This process would eventually lead to Peter and Luke-alongside guitarist Ary Warnaar and bassist James DeVito-flipping their typically meticulous digital writing process for the more collaborative, straight to tape, distorted angst that can be found on 2025's acclaimed Anyway. That album marked another significant evolutionary turn for the band to come out of their relationship with Scott Pilgrim. As Anamanaguchi's work has continued to develop since their initial collaboration within the Scott Pilgrim universe, the cultural footprint of Scott Pilgrim has evolved as well. Moving from something akin to a cult classic niche comic into a widespread coming of age story for multiple generations across movies, anime, TV, and video games, the story rides the line of being crucially important to it's core fanbase while simultaneously existing as a widespread franchise known to the masses. Now fresh off the heels of a nationwide tour in support of Anyway, Anamanaguchi have committed themselves to maintaining a similarly tense throughline within their own work by returning to the 8-bit beat em up world of Scott Pilgrim with a relentlessly high energy and genre defying original soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim EX. Just as a new generation might be coming online to discover the joys of cloud rock, laptop twee, and lofi electronic indie, Anamanaguchi are here to provide a return to form with a depth of knowledge and innovation that has consistently allowed them to evolve and grow alongside the characters in the Scott Pilgrim universe and the multi-generational fanbase that continues to follow them.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an anime streaming television series developed by Bryan Lee O'Malley and Ben David Grabinski for Netflix. The series is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels written and drawn by O'Malley, with the entire main cast from the 2010 film adaptation, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, reprising their roles for the English voice cast, and serves as both a sequel and re-imagining of the graphic novel and film. The series was released on November 17, 2023 to critical acclaim.
Unlike the film adaptation, which largely told the same story as the comics, Takes Off features a completely separate plot, with the titular Scott Pilgrim disappearing in the first episode, and Ramona Flowers, his love interest, taking the center stage, as she tries to find out who among the cast was responsible for his disappearance, all whilst other characters within the story work on a fictional adaption of Scott's life.

ANATHEMA / PENTECOST III VINYL LPAnathema formed in Liverpool in 1990, initially under the name of Pagan Angel & grew from a heavy doom/death metal style act into a more progressive & melodic group, blending rock elements with strong atmospherics inspired by classic acts such as Pink Floyd & Radiohead. The band signed with Peaceville Records after recording the `All Faith Is Lost' demo in 1991 & is known for being part of the hallowed Peaceville doom metal trinity in the early 1990's (alongside fellow UK bands Paradise Lost & My Dying Bride), with some highly influential releases in the early part of their long, esteemed career.`Pentecost III' was released in early 1995 & was recorded at the infamous Academy Studios in Yorkshire UK (My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost). 'Pentecost III' featured classic heavy & often hypnotic doom metal, as well as a reworking/rerecording of the `Memento Mori' track from the `Iliad Of Woes' demo. This was the last release which original vocalist Darren White appeared on, before leaving the band to form "The Blood Divine" with various members of the original "Cradle Of Filth" line up.This 30th anniversary edition of `Pentecost III' contains newly remastered audio courtesy of Jaime Gomez at Orgone Studios.ANATHEMA 'PENTECOST III' LP

Ten years ago, Anderson.Paak didn't just release an album; he staged a full-scale takeover of the soul and hip-hop landscape. Released on January 15, 2016, Malibu served as the definitive arrival of an artist who had spent years grinding in the underground before a star-making turn on Dr. Dre's Compton. While his previous work hinted at his potential, Malibu was the moment the world met the "Cheeky Andy" persona in full-a virtuosic drummer, a raspy-voiced crooner, and a sharp-witted rapper all rolled into one. The album is a sprawling, sun-drenched journey through the Southern California coast, blending 1970s funk, church-reared gospel, and gritty boom-bap into something that feels both nostalgic and entirely futuristic. With a heavyweight production lineup including 9th Wonder, Madlib, Kaytranada, and Hi-Tek, the record maintains a warm, analog texture that was a breath of fresh air in an increasingly digital era. It's an album that breathes, full of intentional imperfections and the kind of "in-the-pocket" groove that can only come from a seasoned live performer. Beyond the infectious, dance-floor-ready energy of tracks like "Am I Wrong" and "Come Down, " the album is a deeply autobiographical masterwork.Paak uses the 65-minute runtime to unpack his life story with startling clarity, touching on his mother's gambling addiction, his father's incarceration, and his own brushes with homelessness with a sense of resilience that never feels heavy-handed. He weaves these heavy themes through a lens of triumph, grounded by vintage surfing documentary samples that give the project it's cinematic, coastal atmosphere. It's a celebratory record born out of struggle, anchored by his impeccable technicality on the drums and a guest list-featuring ScHoolboy Q, Rapsody, and The Game-that feels hand-picked to complement his specific brand of West Coast swagger. A decade later, Malibu stands as a modern classic and the blueprint for the soulful revivalism that would eventually lead.Paak to global superstardom and Grammy-winning heights. It remains a testament to the idea that the most profound music often comes from the most personal places, proving ten years on that the best way to move forward is to stay rooted in the groove. 10 Year Anniversary 2xLP, Pop-Up Gatefold Jacket, pressed on Tangerine, Olive Green and Brown 3 Color A Side B Side Vinyl.

André 3000's 7 piano sketches is a collection of instrumental music recorded solo on the piano, marking the first release of new material since his globally lauded 2023 instrumental album, New Blue Sun, earned three GRAMMY nominations, including Album of the Year. Partially composed and recorded prior to New Blue Sun, the beginnings of 7 piano sketches came about almost a decade ago, while staying in a house in Texas with his son that had only a piano, their beds and TV screens. Having lived with the recordings for a time, André was drawn to the idea of creating more and sharing them in the Spring, a time of year that promises that life, creativity, and possibility are ever-renewing. This 10” 45 RPM vinyl is pressed on 120 gram black vinyl.

Moving Day captures André 3000 in a very important time. Before New Blue Sun was recorded, filmmaker Dexter Navy films André in Venice Beach, California. The day happened to be when André was moving out of his home and into a new place. The score for Moving Day is a weaving of field recordings from the date of filming, an impromptu Q&A by Navy to André, and post studio recording performed forward then backward while watching the film. The additional track 'Tunnels of Egypt' is an unreleased New Blue Sun sessions recording.Track List

SOMM Recordings' new series, "Elgar from the Archives," explores Edward Elgar's music with rare archival recordings, not only from well-known British interpreters but also from lesser known, yet equally laudable, international conductors and soloists.Volume 2 in the series features historic live performances of Sir Edward Elgar's Violin Concerto in B minor, Op. 61 with Tibor Varga, and the Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85 with Andre Navarra. Lani Spahr-whose work as a master recording engineer of historic reissues has been honoured by Gramophone Magazine-has once again expertly realised the audio restoration of these performances.  The Royal Philharmonic Society of London commissioned the Violin Concerto from Elgar in 1909. Composed within a year of his First Symphony, it is one of his longest orchestral compositions and has the reputation of being one of the most difficult in the violin repertoire. He dedicated it to the noted violin master of his day, Fritz Kreisler, who gave the premiere performance in 1910 with Elgar conducting. The Hungarian violinist Tibor Varga (1921-2003) was 6 years old when he made his first public appearance, becoming one of the most prominent soloists of his generation. The Franz Liszt Academy appointed him an honorary professor-a rare distinction also awarded to Elgar, Emil Gilels, Richard Strauss, and Arturo Toscanini, amongst others. Varga moved to London in 1947, became a citizen, and lived in Britain for nine years. That experience is reflected in his fine, committed performance of Elgar's concerto. This recording, from 1957, is with the Dutch composer and conductor Jan Koetsier and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.  Following the Great War, Lady Elgar noted that her husband's compositions were different in style and character. His four-movement Cello Concerto, completed in 1919, is barely longer than the first movement of his Violin Concerto, and it is a contemplative, elegiac work with a heartfelt third-movement adagio that is a masterful example of controlled emotion. Yet the concerto ends on a positive note, as the declamatory opening returns in a valedictory form at the end of the finale. The renowned cellist Andre Navarra (1911-1988) graduated from the Paris Conservatoire at the age of fifteen, and he was later mentored by Pablo Casals. He toured extensively in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Soviet Union, playing with the great conductors of the era, and he was one of a number of distinguished French cellists who embraced the Elgar concerto. He chose it for his first public performance in Britain at the 1950 Cheltenham Festival with John Barbirolli-with whom he recorded the concerto in 1957. His recording here with German conductor Fritz Rieger and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, comes from 1956. UPC: 758871504720Label: Somm RecordingsRelease Date: 3.27.26Format: CD

Deluxe Edition. Recent scientific studies show that listening to music makes people happy - especially listening to music in the company of others. But I've known that for years! I see it happening every night, right in front of me at our concerts. Whether we're playing a captivating waltz like the 'Blue Danube' or a romantic melody like the 'Vilja Song', I see people looking happy, even radiant, because they're listening to our music. And of course, we in the Johann Strauss Orchestra are very proud of that. I hope I can carry on making you happy with our music for a long time to come, and I wish you great enjoyment listening to 'Romantic Moments II' !

In 1758 the London publisher John Walsh, sensing a marketing opportunity, issued a collection of harpsichord sonatas under the name of Johann Adolf Hasse. The volume includes genuine compositions by Hasse alongside some works that are in all likelihood not by him. Walsh's editorial decisions reveal a discerning musical judgment, and the pieces gathered in the collection are of consistently high quality. The present recording offers the complete set, performed on an original 1768 harpsichord by the Amsterdam builder Carl Fredrik Laescke.
