Australian jangle pop legends Ups and Downs are back with a brand new EP - their first new music for over 10 years! Radio Is Dead opens with the sing-a-long angst of the title track, which emerges from the static, hooks you in with a killer chorus and trips out in a psychedelic haze. Then it's straight into the shimmering groove of the single Out Of Thin Air, where the band conjure pure guitar pop with a summery melody and classic harmonies that appear suddenly and stay with you forever. This is Ups and Downs at their sparkling best! Elsewhere, Earth's Still Spinning is driving interstellar pop where the vocals trade hooks with massive power chords, Haunted House keeps it's secrets until it's violin-led crescendo, and the EP finishes with the life-affirming instrumental swirls of In My End Is My Beginning - a fitting tribute to Ups and Downs' 40 years in the business of making great guitar pop. And the front cover of the EP keeps the radio theme going, with a striking photo of the Atkinson brother's father, Geoff, a one-time popular radio announcer in the band's hometown of Brisbane. Tune in to Radio Is Dead - it will put a smile on your dial!

Man has such a predilection for systems and abstract deductions that he is ready to distort the truth intentionally, he is ready to deny the evidence of his senses only to justify his logic"" Fyodor Dostoevsky - Notes from Underground (1864)The Intermittent Signal is the sound of resistance. In the year since The Sick Man Of Europe's debut album was released, the world has moved on. Steady hands have slipped from the levers of power, logic has shifted underground and the message grows more urgent with every passing day. Repetition has been relearned and the machine rhythms repurposed, this time with increased intensity. Arrangements have moved beyond the bare bones economy of the first record and there's a newfound melodicism in places. Clarity and conviction ring true through the static and noise, while utopian ideas to remodel a broken system gain traction. This is a rejection of the attention economy and a call to reconnect through community and organisation. Those simple acts that were once commonplace have become increasingly radical as new fractures emerge.""Through repetition the message has gained weight and become something more urgent,"" The Sick Man Of Europe explains. ""The vehicle for this message needed to evolve, grow to gain the strength to carry it. We've landed on something more expansive, immediate and immersive. Less is more. Until it isn't.

Remember Sports have always sounded like a band in motion, chasing a feeling, chasing each other, sometimes running from themselves. Over the past decade, they've built a devoted following through bruising live shows, emotionally honest songs, and a sound that keeps evolving. Their new album, The Refrigerator (out February 13, 2026 via Get Better Records), captures the messy, cathartic energy of transformation. Written in the aftermath of the pandemic, the record is shaped by grief, uncertainty, and a deep love for music and friendship. Songs wrestle with identity, memory, and growing up, balancing bratty catharsis with tenderness and reflection. For the first time, the band produced the album themselves, leaning fully into intuition and trust as they experimented with new textures and dynamics. The result is a vivid, emotionally charged document of survival, an album about becoming, about holding space for both joy and loss, and about finding your way back to yourself through sound, care, and connection.

Renowned guitarists Steve Hackett & Steve Rothery are pleased to present their long-awaited collaborative album ‘The Roaring Waves’. Seven instrumental tracks that range from the dexterously ridiculous to the brilliantly sublime, though with one common theme: the profundity of the sea. As Rothery explains: “In winter you could hear the roaring of the of the waves during the stormy weather, Whitby was a very evocative place to live, a very poetic and powerful place to grow up. So, I suppose this record, is a way of expressing some of those memories and emotions about what the sea meant to me.”
‘The Roaring Waves’ has been in the making for the best part of eight years, though the initial idea of the pair making an album together was first mooted around three years before that, but their respective day jobs and touring itineraries kept them from working together for months at a time. Though recording sessions at the Racket Club, and their respective home studios yielded a rich seamof creativity. “It was a bit old school our approach, like the idea of mates getting together in the garage and playing and hanging out” says Hackett of their approach to creativity.
For now, this is a standalone record, with neither guitarist even able to commit time to live dates le alone the thought of making another album together again just yet. So, for now, as the tides rise and recede, faces turn to the empty horizon waiting for one final ship to be brought into land, to finally return home.
‘The Roaring Waves’ will be available as a Ltd CD & Blu-ray Mediabook, featuring Dolby Atmos mixes by Andy Bradfield, as well as a Gatefold 180g LP & LP-booklet which was Half-Speed Mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell. The album will also be available as a Standard CD Jewelcase & Digitally. UPC: 199584338125Label: Inside OutRelease Date: 8.28.26Format: CD
There is a long list of early '90s albums that were unjustly ignored in the wake of the era's grunge explosion. A lot of them were metal releases, but when it comes to alternative rock records, Dada's 1992 record Puzzle would be right at the top. Psychedelia and sunny SoCal sounds undercut by healthy skepticism (""Dizz Knee Land"") regarding the region's charms render Puzzle worthy of it's title, an impression reinforced by the enigmatic, Rorschach-like cover art. Power pop and even some funk add to the allure of this noir-ish album, which is as hard to classify as it is to resist. Finally, and with the full support of the band, Puzzle is receiving it's first widespread American vinyl release in grand style: an expanded double-LP, remastered for vinyl by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision, and featuring an entire side of bonus tracks. Pressed in green and yellow ""troll hair"" vinyl to match the little fella pictured on the front cover, and housed inside a gatefold jacket with lyrics!

The title of 2001's In Torment in Hell may well have been referring to Deicide's collective state of mind as well as offering another example of their usual dark metaphysical/religious musings. The band was at each other's throats and at war with their label (this was their last album for Roadrunner), which led to less-than-kind reviews from fans and even the band itself. But now, given the benefit of time, it's even-more-breakneck-than-usual tempos and tunes like ""Child of God"" and the title track add up to another head-spinning death metal anti-exorcism. For it's 25th anniversary, we've had In Torment in Hell remastered for vinyl and pressed it in appropriately infernal red smoke wax. First stand-alone release on LP, complete with insert!

'Ghost', the Sophomore album by The Haunt, is a triumphant victory lap, fresh on the heels of their debut album 'New Addiction'. The South Florida alt-rock band led by the sister and brother duo of Anastasia (vocals) and Maxamillion Haunt (guitar/production) are heavily influenced by the dark pop and modern rock forged by bands such as Bring Me the Horizon, Evanescence, and Paramore. Produced by John Feldmann (Avril Lavigne, The Used, Sleeping With Sirens) and Kevin Thrasher (Escape The Fate, Jelly Roll), 'Ghost' balances smoky, soulful and infectious vocals with cinematic soundscapes, underpinned by shuddering rock, glitchy synth transmissions, and gothic electronic nuances that conjure a singular vision equally steeped in pop noir and controlled industrial chaos. For any other artist, an album like Asher White's 'Love Aggregates' might come out of a conscious push to treat no idea as off-limits, to make something bold and new. Jubilant art-funk about cocaine addiction-absolutely. Swooning orchestral pop about Jerry Garcia-why not? Rippling electronic noise, jazzy brushed drums, an elderly motorcyclist with dementia, a profoundly emotional bass solo-put them all in one song. There are threadbare folk tunes, glammed-up power-pop bangers, ""Sir Duke"" horn charts, Morton Feldman string arrangements, layers of guitar feedback like violins made of liquid chrome. Yes, for another artist, 'Love Aggregates' might be the most adventurous album in their catalog. For Asher White, it's what passes for settling down. White is 25 years old and has been making records-writing, recording, producing, and playing almost everything herself-for over a decade. She'd released two dozen of them on Bandcamp before catching the indie-rock industry's attention with 2024's 'Home Constellation Study' and last year's '8 Tips for Full Catastrophe Living.' The latter album, her first for Joyful Noise, zooms from strummy guitar songs to bruising drum'n'bass breakdowns to honest-to-god doom metal riffs. It's dizzy eclecticism and formidable craft landed her on 'Rolling Stone's Future 25 list' with the likes of xaviersobased and Oklou, along with a slew of other accolades. That came as something of a surprise to White, who didn't craft the chaotic '8 Tips' with a breakthrough in mind. 'Love Aggregates' feels like a chance, for one of the most thrilling musical talents of her generation, at a more deliberate introduction. She wrote and recorded her new album while her previous one was gathering momentum, tinkering in the DIY recording studio where she always works, acutely conscious now that people would be listening to whatever she came up with. At around the same time, her years-long romantic relationship ended in a flurry of betrayal and addiction, her first experience of devastating heartbreak. She was determined to present her new audience with an album that felt true to the whole of her artistry as she understood it so far, but also consumed with feelings of a sort that she had no previous cause to explore in her work. ""It was the first time that I was like, Oh, someone is going to be hearing these songs,"" she says. ""And also the first time that I was, like, actually upset while writing them.""

Blessed with a formidable front woman in Brett Anderson, a guitar heroine in Allison Robertson, and a pummeling rhythm section in bassist Maya Ford and drummer Torry Castellano, The Donnas were one of the greatest punk bands of the '90s, male or female, bringing a uniquely hedonistic yet feminist viewpoint to the genre. And here is where it all started; recorded when they were still in high school, The Donnas' 1997 debut was and will forever be one of the most infectious, sing-along slabs of punk ever waxed. Owing no small debt to the Ramones (all the way down to their sharing of ""anonymous"" names), the girls gleefully turn the sex, drugs, and rock and roll dials up to 11, except this time it's the females that are looking for some action (""I wanna huff all night"" and ""I'm gonna get in his pants tonight"" are two representative lyrical lines). And for our Real Gone reissue of this classic, you are getting The Donnas raw and unfiltered... that's right, we actually scored the original quarter-inch 2-track master tape to the album, so you're getting an all-analog version of this punk-rock masterpiece. Loser Edition on metallic gold vinyl. The Go's Free Electricity, the group's storied, long-lost album, finally gets a proper release! The Go appeared in Detroit in 1996, led by Bobby Harlow and featuring Dave Buick on bass and Jack White on guitar. Following the release of their 1999 debut, Whatcha Doin', and a few lineup changes, the band hit the studio with Dion Fischer on lead guitar, John Olson (of Wolf Eyes) on saxophone, and Cary Loren (of Destroy All Monsters) to record their sophomore effort. The session found the band and their producer, Matthew Smith (Outrageous Cherry), exploring the outer edges of rock and roll, with blaring lead guitars, copious amounts of reverb, and a heavy jazz influence thanks to a heavy diet of '60s free jazz. The results erupt from the speakers with a cavernous sound, like some haunted frequency beamed across the time barrier from the Grande Ballroom circa 1968, often sounding more like records by Pharoah Sanders and Sun Ra than the records being made by The Go's peers in the '00s rock and roll scene.Free Electricity was written, composed, and arranged by Bobby Harlow (except track one, which was written by Harlow and Dion Fischer; and track five, written by Harlow and Cary Loren). Free Electricity was mixed and produced by Matthew Smith, engineered by Jim Diamond at Ghetto Recorders, and mastered by Jim Kissling at Jim Kissling Mastering in Detroit, Michigan. Guest appearances by folks from Destroy All Monsters and Wolf Eyes only reinforced the album's musical direction. Weird or not, this was an inspired recording made by an inspired group of musicians. There was a feeling of excitement and adventure happening at these sessions, it shines through mightily on this album.

Railcard formed in 2025 when Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture), Ian Button and Peter Momtchiloff (Heavenly) met at a gig, realized that they were the same age, and decided that this was an excellent reason to form a band. The shared history, the same pop references, the parallel lives... Railcard had to happen. The band made their live debut in December 2025 and had by then recruited their fourth member, Allison Thomson (Trash Can Sinatras, The Love Band), whose flawless trumpet and swirly keyboard-playing complete the Railcard sound. ""Two Steps At A Time"" - the album title and theme song - express exactly how quickly Railcard have worked since then - jumping over pavement cracks and whistling past graveyards to get these songs written, recorded and released while they are still sweet and fresh. The tunes range from delicate and swoony Bacharach-tinged soft-pop to raucous 'Girls In The Garage' workouts to 60s folk rock bangers to mesmerizing indiepop-meets-kosmiche chug. It's a wide-ranging pop vision informed by decades of combined pop fandom and creation - timeless, vital and, most importantly, a heck of a lot of fun.

More than four decades after redefining the sound of melodic progressive rock, ASIA return in 2026 with Indigo—a studio album that bridges past, present, and future with remarkable grace and authenticity.
Now featuring Geoffrey Downes alongside an inspired new lineup—Virgil Donati, John Mitchell, and Harry Whitley—ASIA step confidently into a new era while honoring the legacy that made them one of the most iconic supergroups of all time. Recorded throughout 2025 and produced by Downes and the band, with mixing and mastering handled by John Mitchell, Indigo captures the unmistakable spirit of ASIA while injecting it with renewed vitality and purpose.
At the heart of the album lies an emotional connection to the band’s history. Indigo includes some of the final compositions written by the late John Wetton—“Tattoo Indigo (Parts 2 & 3)” and “Chesapeake Bay”—imbuing the record with a profound sense of continuity and tribute. The presence of Wetton is further felt through the extraordinary vocal performance of Harry Whitley, whose tone and phrasing evoke a striking and deeply moving resemblance to the band’s original voice.
Musically, Indigo stands as a natural continuation of ASIA’s acclaimed 21st-century output, while subtly weaving in the sonic DNA of the band’s classic early albums. From soaring melodies to richly layered arrangements, the album delivers the signature blend of accessibility and musicianship that defined hits like “Heat Of The Moment” and “Only Time Will Tell.”
The album also features special guest appearances that elevate its scope: Steve Howe contributes acoustic guitar to the evocative “Chesapeake Bay,” while Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) delivers a powerful performance on the bonus track “Tattoo Indigo (Part 3).”
Following a resurgence of live activity across the US, Japan, and Europe, ASIA are set to take Indigo on the road, with a North American tour planned for late 2026 and European dates to follow in early 2027.
With Indigo, ASIA don’t just revisit their legacy—they expand it, proving once again that their music remains as vital, resonant, and timeless as ever. UPC: 8024391160251Label: Frontiers RecordsRelease Date: 11.6.26Format: Vinyl
Clear Vinyl. The Mystery is an album by Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel that was released in 2006. The album includes the track ""Gameshow Rag/Cannonball Rag"" which was nominated for ""Best Country Instrumental Performance"" at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. The song won ""Instrumental of the Year"" at the 2007 Country Music Awards of Australia. This album has a peace and a gentleness that emanates throughout the compositions. The song titles offer some insight: ""Cowboy's Dream,"" ""The Mystery,"" ""That's the Spirit,"" ""Footprints,"" ""Keep it Simple."" Emmanuel proves skillful without being flashy; calm without being dull; thoughtful without being pedantic. He remains faithful to the melody, using his exceptional guitar work to support the essence of the song. The record also features one of Emmanuel's most popular original songs ""Lewis & Clark,"" and a very beautiful instrumental arrangement of the Billy Joel classic ""And So It Goes."" In honor of the 20th Anniversary, this special-edition album is remastered and contains a never-released live instrumental of the Louis Armstrong classic ""What a Wonderful World.""

Retracing two decades with Seattle’s Jeff McIlwain, aka Lusine, reveals one of contemporary electronic and experimental music’s most enduring producers, understatedly consistent yet endlessly curious. His expansive catalog balances melodic structure with textural refinement, drifting into techno, avant-pop, and ambient lanes while never squarely in any one of them. Following 2023’s Long Light, among his most collaborative, song-forward albums to date, McIlwain returns to his minimalist roots for the towering 10th Lusine full-length, Melting Days. Ten songs in conversation with loss and transition, defined by elemental layers and ascending loops that engulf his signature rhythms and beat patterns in pure radiance. “When you’re moving through grief, it’s as if you’re watching your previous life get foggier and foggier,” says McIlwain. While he didn’t set out to make a journey record, Melting Days takes that feeling to its spiritual end, from catharsis to clarity.

Dead Best return on August 7th with God: Out of Order, their third and most fully realized album yet. Sharper, louder, and more melodic than ever, the record captures the absurdity, anxiety, and emotional whiplash of modern life through songs that are equally noisy and undeniably catchy. God: Out of Order finds Dead Best at their most fully realized - turning chaos into hooks, frustration into humor, and confusion into something worth shouting along to.

Horrorful Heights marks a formidable new chapter in The Bevis Frond's deep and storied catalogue, showcasing the enduring creativity of songwriter, guitarist and frontman Nick Saloman as he moves into yet another decade of recording. Long established as one of the most distinctive voices in British underground rock, Saloman continues to refine the band's signature blend of melodic psychedelia, wiry guitar epics and sharp, emotionally attuned songwriting. Horrorful Heights offers one of the most approachable entry points to the band's world in years: a record that gathers their core strengths into a cohesive, vivid set.The album's range is wide but sharply defined. ""Draining The Bad Blood"" channels the classic Bevis Frond mode of melodic guitar pop-cut from the same cloth as longtime fan favourites later covered by Teenage Fanclub and The Lemonheads. ""Space Age Eyes,"" a concise nine-minute odyssey, nods toward the transcendental explorations of '70s electric Miles Davis, complete with a blistering solo from Simmons and rhythmic elasticity from Pearce. The sitar-laden title track, written off-the-cuff while Saloman half-watched a football match, drifts through incense-hazed psychedelia with layered vocals and tumbling tablas-an affectionate echo of the head-shop mysticism he has toyed with throughout the band's history.Alongside the core album, this deluxe edition includes Horrorful Offal, an eleven-track companion drawn from the same fertile sessions. Far from a grab-bag of leftovers, it extends the world of Horrorful Heights with alternate moods, deep-cut experiments and songs that illuminate the album's edges. Together they form a panoramic view of the Frond's current creative streak. Both albums are housed in a striking deluxe edition, presented in a bespoke die-cut slipcase that frames the artwork.

Across the last 15 years, Ryan Gustafson of The Dead Tongues has emerged as one of modern folk's most distinct voices. As idiosyncratic and spectral as the songs have sometimes been, Gustafson has always tied his visions and verses to the kinds of hooks you tuck away like talismans, pulled out in case of emergency. On Montana, Ryan Gustafson expanded the sound of The Dead Tongues. Weaving influences from Appalachian old time and primitive three finger style guitar into his previously established, simple yet off centered approach to songwriting - Gustafson crafts a richly textured, distinctly American patchwork that moves between pastoral warmth and strange intensity. Featuring the fan favorite track ""Wildflower Perfume"", this beloved album is available on vinyl for the first time.

Gilla Band never know where they're going next. For over ten years now, the Dublin quartet - vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner - have been redefining what you could loosely call ""rock music"" in the 21st century, influencing a wide swath of similarly forward-thinking guitar acts along the way. Across 2015's Holding Hands With Jamie, 2019's The Talkies, and 2022's Most Normal, the band perfected a vision that wasn't quite post-punk, wasn't quite noise-rock, wasn't quite anything besides an idiosyncratic, ground-breaking hybrid that could only come from the four of them. As soon as they submitted Most Normal for mastering, they began the patient search for their next destination. Over time, the process led them to their fourth album Pugnello, the boldest left turn in a career full of them.In the four years since Most Normal, each member embarked on other artistic endeavors. Kiely fostered a newfound love of painting, Faulkner played drums for Lankum on the road, Fox became an increasingly in-demand producer guiding ascendant acts like Sprints, Lambrini Girls, and Mandy, Indiana, while Duggan Borges launched his solo project the Null Club with collaborations featuring Mandy, Indiana's Valentine Caulfield, the Horrors' Faris Badwan, Miss Grit, and Brooklyn MC Elucid. All their extracurricular activity existed in parallel with the exploratory route towards Pugnello, but also informed the band as they reconvened to crystallize the album's vision.
