Released in 1992 on Knott's own Blonde Vinyl Records, the album follows Ellis, an orange picker dispatched by his boss Colonel Peckesen to rescue his fellow workers from the grip of a charismatic cult leader known as the Grape Prophet - a thinly veiled allegory for the fault lines running through the evangelical movement of the era. Dark, heavy, and almost uncomfortably earnest, it arrived just ahead of the grunge explosion and sounded like nothing else in Knott's already eclectic catalog.Lost in Ohio is proud to present a very limited second pressing, newly cut for vinyl by Lex van Coeverden at The Vinyl Room. For this pressing, original negative scans from the 1992 cover photo shoot were sourced through the archival work of the Us Kids team - stunning, unsettling images that match the album's dark and brooding character in a way nothing else could. In 1953, Brazilian master guitarist Laurindo Almeida and altoist/flutist Bud Shank collaborated on their first LP for Richard Bock's Pacific Jazz label. Laurindo Almeida Quartet Featuring Bud Shank was a groundbreaking recording, blending American jazz with Brazilian samba for the first time, years before the advent of bossa nova. Almeida and Shank enjoyed such early success with the record that they reunited five years later for their second collaboration, Holiday in Brazil (alternatively titled Brazilliance, Vol. 2). Whereas Brazilliance, Vol. 1 was led by Almeida and focused on the traditional Brazilian influences, Vol. 2 allowed Shank room to contribute more of his signature silky soloing and energetic motifs. The vibe is almost as relaxed, but bristles with an adventurous energy and swing that serves Almeida's arrangements and solid guitar accompaniment perfectly. In 2019, La Volte released The Furtives, the latest novel by science fiction writer Alain Damasio. At that time, to mark the publication, Damasio invited the band Palo Alto to join him on stage in response to an invitation from the literary festival Oh les beaux jours !, held at La Criée - Théâtre national de Marseille. What was initially intended as a one-off performance led to a multi-date tour across France. The show performed at La Maroquinerie was filmed and recorded in multitrack and will be release on the 5th of June 2026 on Hublotone (HUBLO006CD).
