Impressed is proud to present the Official Soundtrack from the Motion Picture, Taika Waititi's 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople'. This is the first time the soundtrack has been pressed to vinyl, and lands in time for the film's 10th anniversary. The score was composed by Moniker, a New Zealand music project rooted in psychedelic pop and soundtrack composition, originating from Wellington. While there are multiple artists who go by the name Moniker worldwide, the New Zealand incarnation refers specifically to the trio of Luke Buda, Samuel Flynn Scott, and Conrad Wedde, who have composed scores for multiple films and television series - and this, for Taika Waititi's Hunt for the Wilderpeople, was their most notable. Their work blends lush, melodic psychedelia with cinematic sensibilities, reflecting both their indie pop roots and a refined knack for atmospheric storytelling through music, where their music helped shape the film's unique emotional balance between humor, tenderness, and adventure. The score mirrors the landscape of Aotearoa itself - vast, playful, occasionally melancholic, and full of unexpected beauty. Moniker's compositions often carry a distinctly New Zealand sensibility, blending gentle psychedelia, folk influences, and lush orchestration in a way that feels grounded yet transportive. Like a mighty battle trireme, Temple of Dread are leaving their port on the East Frisian island of Spiekeroog to deliver brutal death metal with the new massive ram bow "Dreadspawn Dominion" to all that dare to try and block their course. Musically, Temple of Dread remain true to their old school death metal roots but continue to expand their sonic range by further honing their cinematic aspects with even more dark and heavy elements that began to receive special attention on the previous albums "Beyond Acheron" (2023) and "God of the Godless" (2024). These veterans are making full use of their vast experience and audible confidence in their deadly craft to add true emotions into their often rather technically focussed genre. Temple of Dread were founded on the island of Spiekeroog in 2017 by Markus Bünnemeyer with the intent to play old school death metal. Originally a trio, the band has now grown into a five-piece. With "Dreadspawn Dominion", Temple of Dread do not just deliver about everything that their old school death metal following might desire but also invite listeners from other realms on the darker and harder side of metal to lend an ear. Lockstep is a Nashville-based band pulling elements from shoegaze, doom and heavy rock. We walked into Howl & Moan on a trip up to Byron Bay and they told us about them. They sold us this record that had just come in. And it was so good that we bought them all - all 100 - from the band to sell to you - and they sold out all around the world. But we believe in it. And we wanted to give it a wider audience. And now their new single 'The Crop' is going viral on YouTube. We watched the videos from their - own, self-curated - festival, Anemoia. They made and edited them too. Our jaws picked themselves up from the floor. Liminal made this all themselves. The feeling that we had was similar to that first time we heard Innerspeaker. But darker, yet also a little more playful. Trust us, if you like early Tame, if you like Pond, or even those Australian psych overlords KG & TLW, we think you'll dig this record. This is Liminal's second album from 2023. They are currently writing and recording the third one, deep in the hills behind Lismore, which will be out later in 2026.
