Shark Belly Motel is more than just an album title for The Elovaters and their quickly growing fanbase, it represents a communal state of mind. A metaphysical destination where listeners can transcend the doldrums of everyday life and lose themselves in the rhythms and melodies of the songs. So it's telling that their music has also found followers among the fanbases of iconic legends like Jack Johnson, Jimmy Buffett and followers of Kenny Chesney's "No Shoes Radio" on SiriusXM. It's a place that lead singer and songwriter Jackson Wetherebee and his bandmates have been working towards with their art from the early days playing dive bars in Boston, and continue to strive for today, even as they sell out storied venues like Red Rocks and draw tens of thousands of fans to their shows across the country.

Physical Dream is Sam Blasucci’s fourth studio album and first double LP. It’s a sensorial, immersive record that shimmers, shudders, and grooves with genre-blurring mastery. The 28-track album unfolds like a living body—nonlinear and dynamic, alive with cascading instrumentals, buoyant boogie rhythms, and a sound that is simultaneously groovy and poetic.Recorded over just two weeks on a remote island property in Sooke, British Columbia, Physical Dream was born close to the ground. Blasucci slept in a small shack on the land while working closely with engineer and collaborator Jonny Payne. Additional recording took place in studios across Los Angeles and Ojai, California. The album includes contributions from Mia Wilson (vocals), Randal Fisher (horns, flute), Andres Renteria (percussion), Laena Myers (violin, viola, vocals), and Leng Bian (harp).Aside from traditional instrumentation, the album also gives voice to the environments where the music was made. Night sounds recorded on Blasucci’s Ojai property appear on “WHO LIVES ON THESE LANDS.” Running water from a Big Sur waterfall appears on “ORCHIDS.” “SI SE PUEDE” includes audio recorded at an anti-ICE protest in Oxnard, California. These elements expand the album’s sense of space and relationship. Blasucci’s voice is deeply personal and human, yet constantly in dialogue with a wider living world—and asking it to dance.

Lucky is the self-titled debut album by the San Francisco band, born of a collaboration between songwriters Andrew St James (French Cassettes, Juan Wayne) and Peter Kegler (Half Stack). Now a full band featuring Marika Christine and Zach Elsasser (Affectionately), the group combines anthemic indie-rock with y'allternative twang, the perfect soundtrack for long drives and late night revelries.

Ambient library music for woodwind and synthesizer. A 9 track album inspired by a birthday card Greg Foat's 4 year old son Leo drew for his mum earlier this year. This album is an aural delight of unusual sounds. Kind of like a mix of Satoshi & Makoto, Hiroshi Yoshimura, Hiroki Kikuta, and the Karl Jenkins and Mike Ratledge soundtrack to 80's UK children's television show 'Button Moon'. New Orleans-based punk band Twisted Teens shirk genre conventions on their chaotic, energetic, and wildly creative new record, diving into surprising thematic territory and securing them as one of the most original bands in the contemporary DIY punk scene. It's an eros-fueled adrenaline rush full of esoteric references and genre-defying twists, and listening to it feels like bursting out of cold soil on a warm spring day. Fans of Raw Power-era Stooges, Eastern mysticism, or the punk-to-country pipeline should tuck in. (Yes, it's as chaotic as it sounds.) Fronted and masterminded by prolific DIY musician and songwriter Cas P. Ian (the same person behind well-known folk-punk band Blackbird Raum), Twisted Teens' lineup includes acoustic and electric guitar, pedal steel, drums, bass, and keys. For this record, Cas P. Ian (credited elsewhere as CPN, Caspian, and C-SPAN) collaborated with pedal steel player RJ Santos. The two appear together in a tintype photo on the album cover. Drummer Magnus Nymo (Blackbird Raum, FORK, Lyngfarer, Regn) and keyboardist Cameron Snyder feature on one track each - "something I haven't told ya" (co-written by Nymo) and "rando," respectively. From a foundation of old-school rock 'n' roll, the 11-song collection pinballs between punk subgenres - proto-punk, post-punk, surf punk - while also incorporating elements of country, folk, electronic music, and even pop. But fans of saccharine pop or traditional country are unlikely to find anything too comforting on this record. As Cas P. Ian puts it, "I wanted to make something that felt like a garage rock record but [...] is definitely not a garage rock record." -Dana Yewbank

Following up their well-received 2025 album "Whispers In The Speech Machine," The Laughing Chimes' new collection "Behind Your Blue Fields" spotlights a fascinating transitional period for the band during the creation of "Whispers...," as the they expanded their pastoral, paisley jangle into darker, post-punk tinged territory.Band leader Evan Seurkamp explains: "Many of the songs on this compilation ("King of Birds", "Zephyr", "It's 3 Until It's 4", and "Behind Your Blue Fields" to name a few) were written in mind for a Laughing Chimes record but were shelved after embracing the decision to "go goth" on our second album. In the summer of 2022, we were dubbing this sunnier version of our sophomore record Behind Your Blue Fields.... Even though these demos/songs got the boot, it's great to share them with you now as a glimpse into a "what could have been" second album that never fully came to fruition."The 13 demos (and some nifty hidden bonus tracks) here present a fascinating alternate direction for the group and a distinctly different vision for their second album, and as such are a most welcome addition to the Laughing Chimes catalog.

Citizen's persistent sonic evolution and refusal to make the same record twice has earned them a reputation as one of the most consistently captivating bands in modern rock music. It's precisely this commitment to their craft that has led to their new album, Halcyon Blues. It's a dynamic and confident culmination of all that's come before, making it crystal clear that for all their sonic restlessness, Citizen have always known exactly who they are. From the start, the band-vocalist Mat Kerekes, guitarist Nick Hamm, bassist Eric Hamm, along with newer members guitarist Mason Mercer and drummer Ben Russin-were steadfastly determined to follow their creativity wherever it led. Over the years they deftly moved through raw emo, menacing post-hardcore, anthemic alternative, garage-y indie pop, and so much more. Now Halcyon Blues brings elements from throughout their entire catalog together into a singular and instantly satisfying record that just sounds like Citizen. Where past Citizen albums have felt like direct responses to the preceding release, Halcyon Blues sounds like the group wrapping their arms around their entire catalog and carrying it forward. Recorded by Kerekes in his home studio in Tole- do, then mixed by Tom Lorde-Alge (U2, Weezer, Blink182), the record taps into the urgency and ferocity of Citizen's early albums while embracing the epic scope and undeniable hooks of their more recent work. These are huge rock songs with fittingly huge emotions, but the youthful frustration of Citizen's early work has grown up too, replaced by a more nuanced, though no less cutting, adult perspective.

"Adam Lambert’s new era carves a bold hybrid world, blending analogue grit with sleek electronic production. Distorted synths, live bass, electric guitar, and raw drums create a tactile yet futuristic soundscape where his voice soars and twists through dynamic melodies. Lyrically, the album explores longing, identity, and the tension between hope and cynicism; layered, symbolic, and emotionally charged. Dark, stylish, and intoxicating, it’s a strikingly elevated sonic evolution." UPC: 820233244220Label: More Is MoreRelease Date: 7.10.26Format: Cassette
Big Crown Records is proud to present Glera, Marco Benevento's debut album on the label. Marco Benevento has always moved like someone who understands the studio as it's own instrument, not just a room where the toys are. Long before he began appearing on stages with Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, and in the liner notes of albums by Clairo and Leon Bridges, Benevento was already thinking like a producer - listening for texture, tension, and negative space, and for the strange emotional alchemy that occurs when groove and curiosity collide. His new album Glera sharpens that instinct into focus, presenting Benevento not only as a virtuosic keyboardist and bandleader, but as a composer building worlds from rhythm, tone, and feeling.Glera is a genre-bending jazz record that folds in soul and reggae's elastic low end with an open-door sense of possibility. The project began three years ago as a kind of private exercise, with Benevento writing intuitively, inspired by Italian film scores and melody. Over time, those sketches evolved into something broader and more muscular, culminating in the grand majesty heard here. What emerges is music that moves cinematically without becoming precious. Tracks can feel like chase scenes or slow dissolves, sometimes within the same song, with jazz improvisation sharing space alongside reggae pocket, orchestral elements, and psych-pop atmosphere. It's exploratory but grounded, complex yet unmistakably groove-forward.Album opener "Frizzante" is pure musical celebration captured on tape - a high-energy, feel-good banger that finds Marco trading melodies with himself over a relentless groove. On "Turandot," Benevento is joined by Italy's own Marianne Mirage on vocals; the haunting, cinematic track sits comfortably between the worlds of Portishead and Serge Gainsbourg. Then comes "Big Top," stretching the album's palette even further; equipped with voice memos and peacock calls, it's most aptly summed up as "circus funk." Blow the whistle and the game begins with the jazz-fusion-esque dancefloor filler "Houdini," a kick-in-the-door burner from the very first drumbeat. Blending dream pop into the mix on "I Can't Control This Bliss," Marco invites Dream Crease to the microphone for a dose of lo-fi gorgeousness. Elizabeth Steiner brings her storied harp work to "Miss Neptune" over a deeply vibey, reggae-influenced backing track. Putting the pedal to the metal, "Sprezzatura" plays like a high-speed pursuit through narrow streets, while "Quattro Passi" brings the pace down to a saunter, featuring jazz vocalist Chiara Civello.Marco Benevento is operating at the highest level, shaping sound with purpose and curiosity. This album announces itself loudly-both outward-facing and deeply intimate. It's music that moves-across genres, tempos, and registers-while remaining anchored to the joy of discovery. It's a record that embodies motion, carrying the past forward without ever standing still

The six tracks comprising recordings 2008-09 make up the entire pennines discography to date. In 2006 the four-piece began writing their first songs in Norwich, UK, releasing "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot..." and "Open Closed Open" in 2008 on the retroactively titled First CD (aka demo or free cd), the original physical copies of which were homespun and given away gratis at shows. Coming up in the UK mid-late 2000s indie music scene, pennines were lucky enough to share the stage with contemporaries such as Stapleton, Hot Club de Paris, Colour, Dartz!, TTNG and other like minded musical friends. Popularized by genre forebears toe and American Football, pennines favoured arpeggiated guitar, syncopation, staccato call-and-response harmonies, and unexpected rhythm decisions. "One of the things I loved about pennines was the absolute lack of bullshit," recalls singer/guitarist Henry Tremain, referencing the band's straightforward approach to their sound. Pennines used a clean guitar tone with no distortion or effects pedals and a DIY approach to recording, aiming for a natural representation of the songs. The downtempo, meditative coda of "Collapsing New Buildings" exemplifies the pennines signature, as does the entrancing guitar play midway through "Pilot Holes," two songs that also feature upbeat, crashing passages that demonstrate the band's ability to balance energy and subtlety. #recordings 2008-09 concludes in under twenty minutes with the scurried "Does Not Want," whose abrupt ending tricks the listener into expecting more - fitting punctuation for a band whose original run was no more than a few years, and resulted in a discography shorter than most albums.
