Atlanta Millionaires Club is in Faye Webster's feelings, and that's the way she likes it. "Everything is way personal, " Webster says. "I have to write about very personal things for me to even want to write." On the 21-year-old Atlanta native's new album, the omnipresence of pedal steel eschews bluegrass trappings, flexible under Webster's genre-bending direction. Webster didn't set out to make it sound like any artist in particular, but she cites Aaliyah as her main musical inspiration for how she uses sound. "That's where I first heard, 'Oh, there's this weird guitar that's bendy and it could totally be in a country song, ' but the way she's using it is what makes her music so special to me, " Webster explains. "I try to do that. I try to change the way pedal steel is supposed to sound, or keys, to make it more R&B." Pulling from a familial lineage of folk storytelling and time spent in Atlanta's hip-hop scene, Webster's work is a study of duality, weaving through her own introversion and heartbreak; it's an idiosyncratic sadness punctuated by fleeting observations and an unexpected, sly sense of humor. And like the way Webster takes the traditional instrumentation of Americana and flips it into something else, she uses her own calm, laid-back demeanor to say you can be boldly and unapologetically yourself in a quiet way, too.

Faye Webster’s songs are direct lines to the human subconscious, and Underdressed at the Symphony documents what happens once you begin to build a new self from the ashes of your old routines. This rebirth isn’t flashy or definitive, but is instead a series of seemingly mundane moments that, scattered across weeks and months, sneak their way toward something like healing. Yes, there’s a breakup in play, but Webster is not documenting the heartbreak of a breakup so much as she’s navigating the contours of heartbreak itself. Recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas with her longtime band, Webster is accompanied on Underdressed at the Symphony by Matt Stoessel’s arcs of shimmering pedal steel, the plaintive, unhurried drums of Charles Garner, and, occasionally, additional guitarwork from Wilco’s Nels Cline, among many other crucial players. The title of the album refers to Webster’s post-breakup compulsion to visit the symphony on a whim, usually buying a ticket at the last possible second. “Going to the symphony was almost like therapy for me. I was quite literally underdressed at the symphony because I would just decide at that moment that that's what I wanted to do,” she says. “That's what I felt like I needed to hear. I got to leave what I felt like was kind of a shitty time in my life and be in this different world for a minute.” That strain of lightheartedness with a melancholic backbone permeates the album, and is the major driving force behind “Lego Ring,” which features Atlanta multi-hyphenate Lil Yachty, the only guest voice on the entire album. Yachty’s ghostly warble floats just under Webster’s voice, jabbing through empty space, trembling over a low rumble of bass. The song is also a sort of release—a buoyant moment that cuts through the sadness. “I think I hit a point in songwriting during this record where I was just like, man, I said a lot.” Webster says. “I'm just going to sit down and sing about this ring that I really want. ”Like the rest of the album, Webster isn’t providing answers, nor is she on some epic journey of healing and self-care. Instead, she’s choosing to just live, to document heartbreak and ridiculous moments right next to each other, until they start to blur together, becoming real enough for us all to feel.

These days - on the new, ninth Fink album - Greenall is operating within a lineage of authentic, quietly revolutionary artists from England's verdant southwestern toe. Artists like Michael Chapman. In 1970, the elusive acoustic guitar wizard released an album called Fully Qualified Survivor. The cult-classic served as a lodestar for Greenall - along with bandmates Tim Thornton and Guy Whittaker - as he began jig sawing together The City Is Coming to Erase it All, the follow-up to 2024's Beauty In Your Wake. He even considered covering a song from it, but in the process, inadvertently stumbled into what became the album's opener. 'Wishing For Blue Sky' circles a universal teenage ache: waiting for life to start. "No point dying of patience" goes the first lyric as crunching footsteps cue a resonant, open-tuned acoustic swaying into view. By 18, Greenall was fed up with waiting, so he left suburban Bristol and saw the world, sending postcards from the edge, waiting tables, squirreling away tips for the next flight. Thornton had similar experiences when the guitarist/drummer busked across Europe. This is nowstalgia more than nostalgia, though; there's a parallel between these 18-year-olds and Fink's autumn-aged family men. "You're expected to be boring and settling down at this age," Thornton says. "But we've still got this tremendous wanderlust. We want to go and discover and also achieve things. It's a nice life - home and family - but fuck, I can't wait to get back out there." City is a product of this hunger for discovery, and idolatry of the album as a form - like we had in 1974. City's cover mirrors it's interior, the first song is the greeting, the instrumental closer the conclusion. It's a story. It's a record for people who, like it's creators, are curious. People who happily face a little cold for music, who light a crackling fire back home, who sit with these songs until they're ready to chase after their own blue sky.

2020 release. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple. It is Apple's first release since The Idler Wheel... in 2012. The album was recorded from 2015 to 2020, largely at Apple's home in Venice Beach. It was produced and performed by Apple alongside Amy Aileen Wood, Sebastian Steinberg and Davíd Garza; recording consisted of long, often-improvised takes with unconventional percussive sounds. Rooted in experimentation, the highly percussive album resists genre categorization. While conventional instruments, such as pianos and drum sets, do appear, the album also features prominent use of non-musical found objects as percussion. Apple described the result as "percussion orchestras". These industrial-like rhythms are contrasted against traditional melodies, and the upbeat songs often subvert traditional pop structures.

Recorded in Denver, Colorado on November 9, 1979 and later broadcast on European Radio Networks, this performance finds Firefall playing in their home state at the height of their popularity. The set centers on the songs that made them radio staples in the late '70s, including "You Are the Woman, " "Just Remember I Love You, " and "Strange Way." With strong harmonies and a relaxed but focused delivery, the recording captures Firefall's blend of country rock and mainstream pop in a live setting.

After a nearly five-decade (and counting) career as one of his generation’s defining rock bassists, Flea releases his first full-length solo album, Honora, March 27, 2026, on Nonesuch Records. Time and space have finally allowed him to return to his first musical loves: jazz and playing the trumpet. The song “Traffic Lights,” co-written with Thom Yorke and Josh Johnson, accompanies the album announcement.
For Honora, which takes its name from a beloved family member, Flea composed and arranged the music, and also plays trumpet and bass throughout, joined by an elite crew of modern jazz visionaries: album producer and saxophonist Josh Johnson, guitarist Jeff Parker, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Deantoni Parks. The record features vocals from Flea, as well as friends Thom Yorke and Nick Cave. Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Atoms for Peace) and Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes), among others, also join the band.
The album comprises six original songs—including one co-written by Flea, Johnson, and Yorke—as well as interpretations of tunes by George Clinton and Eddie Hazel, Jimmy Webb, Frank Ocean and Shea Taylor, and Ann Ronell.
Though Flea dreamed of being like his heroes Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Clifford Brown, his path went a different direction. His close friend Hillel Slovak asked him to pick up the bass and join his rock band when he was sixteen, leading Flea into a decades-long career with the hugely successful Red Hot Chili Peppers.
As Flea neared his sixtieth birthday, he realized that if he did not pick up the trumpet again, he probably never would. So he resolved to practice every day for two years—in the midst of a stadium tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a wife and newborn at home. At the end of those two years, he would make an album, regardless of where his knowledge or talents ended up.
Until Honora, Flea had never been scared of making music before. He worried that the all-star band he had assembled would think he was “a non-playing motherf*cker, charlatan, rock poseur or fan.” But, he says, “It turns out they were all the most genuinely supportive people, moving me deeply and daily with their generous spirits… Sitting in a room and playing the music with them made me feel like I was on drugs. I was buzzing, tripping and floating around the studio. I love them, they truly gave of themselves. I bow all the way down.”

Florence + The Machine to release their fifth studio album, Dance Fever, on May 13, 2022. Written and produced through the haze of two lockdowns in London and NYC with producers Jack Antonoff and Glass Animals’ Dave Bayley. Dance Fever sees Florence at the peak of her powers, coming into a fully realized self-knowledge, poking sly fun at her own self-created persona, playing with ideas of identity, masculine and feminine, redemptive, celebratory, stepping into her place in the iconic pantheon.

Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music presents ex-Babe Ruth and Motiffe, pre-Argent and Flea On The Honey. Flux is the product of 5 musicians playing exactly what they wanted. The result is a coruscating outpouring of intense Art Rock, twisted jazz elements and astonishingly unhinged soloing lead guitar that never, ever relents, as if played by a demonically possessed John McLaughlin gatecrashing a King Crimson session. Violent, apocalyptic and genuinely progressive, a startled Record Mirror reviewer described their 1973 St Albans gig as 'A New Form of Music'. In 2019 the master tape of that very concert was rediscovered. Via a temporal anomaly, 21st-century listeners are now invited to hear a new form of music from 1973, for the first time.

The very first release on Frontier Records in March 1980 was an EP by FLYBOYS, a power pop/punk band that began in 1977 with singer/songwriter John Curry and Jim "Trash" Decker from THE CROWD (and tangentially, Jay from THE SIMPLETONES, who would later sign to Posh Boy.) FLYBOYS gigged all over the southland, paying their dues opening for every national and local punk band from Huntington Beach to Hollywood. They were anything but typical punks - they wore day-glo clothes and Cuban heels and the songs were maddeningly catchy. Catchy hooks and John Curry's bleached-blonde, spikey pompadour were the bands trademarks. Their first release was the ultra-rare Square City/Crayon World 45. Frontier's Lisa Fancher interviewed FLYBOYS for the LA Herald Examiner as she was a super fan, and got the notion to record an EP with the band. The process started in 1979 at Leon Russell's studio in North Hollywood CA, Jim Mankey from the original SPARKS engineered (and Johnette Napolitano from CONCRETE BLONDE was the receptionist!) the record. It took way too long to record and by the time Frontier finally released it, the band decided to call it quits. The EP was released to decent fanfare and gradually became a record collector favorite. Fast forward to 2024, FLYBOYS' bass player and sometime singer/songwriter Scott Lasken was leaving Los Angeles and discovered a reel of five unreleased, unheard (and not even remembered) FLYBOYS demos in his closet! Two songs- "Live for Today" and "Every Day" - did not appear on the Frontier EP but three of the demos do, but all are faster and looser due to the songs being so new and recorded for the first time. What a find that was! FLYBOYS The Complete Flyboys 1978-1980 consists of the Frontier EP, the Square City 45 and five unheard, previously unreleased demos and will gain a whole new respect and enthusiasm for the band that they have deserved ever since day one. We can't wait for the world to hear it! MARKETING POINTS:

FONTAINES D.C. / ROMANCE / Irish indie rock sensation Fontaines D.C. return with new album ROMANCE, their debut on XL Recordings, out on August 23rd. Recorded shortly after their tour supporting Arctic Monkeys, it seizes on the momentum of 2022's Skinty Fia, which firmly established them as one of today's most exciting rock bands. ROMANCE represents a bold sonic and stylistic evolution for the band and lead single "Starburster" (out April 17) shows the band at their most electrifying to date, as Chatten's swaggering stream of consciousness collides with explosive production.

2020's A Hero's Death saw Fontaines D.C. land a #2 album in the UK, receive nominations at the GRAMMYs, BRITs and Ivor Novello Awards, and sell out London's iconic Alexandra Palace. Now the band return with their third record in as many years: Skinty Fia. Used colloquially as an expletive, the title roughly translates from the Irish language into English as 'the damnation of the deer'; the spelling crassly anglicized, and its meaning diluted through generations. Part bittersweet romance, part darkly political triumph - the songs ultimately form a long-distance love letter, one that laments an increasingly privatized culture in danger of going the way of the extinct Irish giant deer.

It would be easy to pigeonhole Footballhead's unapologetically-buttrock-inspired record Weight of The Truth as simple nostalgia bait. Why wouldn't millennials lust for the days of Halo and energy drinks in carpeted basements they're not convinced they'll ever be able to afford for themselves? Beyond that, why would the zoomers that now intently follow not try and chase the high of hyperreality in a bygone world that looks, to them, downright utopian when compared to the present? What sets Footballhead's capital-R Rock sound apart from contemporaries is - in addition to just sounding better - a desire and an ability to thread the needle between paying homage to a quasi-idyllic past and pursuing an earnest future. Footballhead wears their 2000s-era influences on their waffle-knit longsleeves, with power chord drives and pummeling choruses, all sequenced together like the teeth of a skeleton key able to unlock core memories for people who've either been there or people who simply wonder what being there was like. Both the anthems and ballads on Weight of The Truth are waxed and polished to perfection like the lip of a favored skatepark ledge. But underlying all that, even more impressively, is a grit and substance derived from years spent in the Chicago DIY scene, exposing themselves to different styles and influences equally out of necessity as out of interest. It bleeds through on every track. You can bullshit your way into a vibe but, as the band shows on any number of recent releases, including singles off their upcoming second LP: you can't fake heart. With an ear to the past but an eye to the present, Footballhead invites you to remember what it meant to give a shit back when the world felt simpler - and what it might feel like to do so again.
