The one and only Acid, formed in Bruges in 1980 (and initially called Precious Page), are widely considered to be one of the very first speed metal bands on the European continent. They recorded three highly regarded albums for Giant Records - Acid (1983), Maniac (1983), and Engine Beast (1985) - before breaking up in the mid-80s. In 2019, lead vocalist Kate de Lombaert decided to resurrect the band under the name Kate's Acid. The current line-up of the band consists of guitarist Geert Annys, drummer Ashley "Ash" Ysewyn, bassist Camilo "Thunder Screamer" Ortega, and Kate on vocals. Hellbender is their first studio album as Kate's Acid, and features nine brand-new songs.

Morning Star finds Këkht Aräkh arriving at a truer, more refined version of himself. Recorded between Berlin and Stockholm, the album emerges from a period of intense personal and artistic growth, blending aggressive black metal passages with immersive, textured soundscapes that feel both intimate and vast.Since his origins in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Dmitry (a.k.a. Crying Orc), the sole mastermind behind the project, has sought a distinctive path within black metal. This vision unfolded through his debut Through the Branches to Eternity EP (2018) and the albums Night & Love (2018) and Pale Swordsman (2021), establishing a signature tension between ferocious, visceral black metal and delicate, introspective ballads. On Morning Star, this dynamic reaches new depth. Created at a point of artistic clarity, the album explores a rawer, more personal emotional palette, shaped by stress, anxiety, and long stretches of writer’s block, giving it rare immediacy and vulnerability.
Dmitry recorded nearly all instruments himself, with drums by Jonathan (Spira Me, Vanskapth, Olycka). Bladee contributed vocals and co-wrote lyrics on “Eternal Martyr,” an unexpected collaboration that reveals intuitive chemistry. VS--55 and Varg2™ add abstract sampling and subtle textural design, giving Morning Star its distinctive grain and analog warmth, while James Ginzburg (Emptyset, Osmium) handled final mastering, enhancing dynamic depth and atmospheric richness.
Several tracks revisit earlier material with fresh perspectives. “Wänderer” and “Drömsång” are partially rerecorded or fully reimagined. Intense, driving passages collide with sparse, contemplative interludes, producing a landscape both visceral and haunting. Themes of isolation and wandering surface in “Wänderer,” dreamlike melancholy in “Drömsång,” existential struggle in “Angest,” and reflections on time and transformation in “Three Winters Away.”
With Morning Star, Këkht Aräkh synthesizes past explorations with new collaborative energy, producing a record that honors 90s black metal tradition while embracing lo-fi warmth, melancholic melodies, sonic experimentation, and emotional candor. The result is a deeply personal statement - an album that is both an arrival and a continuation of his artistic journey.

A quarter century of Kludde! To mark this anniversary, "Langs Scheld- en Denderland" will be re-released as co-release between Consouling Sounds and Thenra Collectivum. For the first time professionally available as 6-panel CDdigisleeve and on black viny. The album has been completely remixed and remastered by Cerulean. While sounding a lot better, the original feel and atmosphere have been preserved. The artwork also received a nice upgrade. The demo was released initially released on CD-R in 2002 and was well received in the local underground and beyond. It got under the attention of Nightmare Productions, the label of Nocturnus Horrendus from Corpus Christi, who re-released the demo one year later in 2003 on tape. Those original versions today have become a much wanted collector's item in the underground black metal scene. Kludde was formed somewhere in 2001 by Snoodaert and Uglúk as a black-metal studio project inspired by the second wave of Black Metal. Local folklore was chosen as a concept and the band name was named after an evil tormentor who hid at night along the waterfront to scare the shit out of unsuspecting passengers. The Kludde, Kleddemèvel or Waterklerre is also a shapeshifter who, often in the form of a large black dog, walked on his hind legs, with glowing crimson eyes and wrapped in rattling chains. Knocked Loose have announced their hotly anticipated new album, A Different Shade of Blue - a mammoth of a sophomore release and massive step forward for the band and for hardcore and metal as we know it. Recorded by producer Will Putney, the new LP was approached slower and more methodically. Abandoning the previous 'live in studio' recording approach for something more deliberate, the band cranked out twelve new tracks that deal with all manner of anger, especially loss in lieu of absence.

Kreator's Krushers Of The World is a ferocious return that finds the band at full strength, blending classic thrash fury with fresh intensity and purpose. From the relentless opener "Seven Serpents" to the darkly melodic "Tränenpalast" featuring Britta Görtz, the album shows a band unafraid to evolve while staying true to their roots. Tracks like "Barbarian" and "Psychotic Imperator" hit with unrelenting speed, while the title track and "Satanic Anarchy" deliver crushing groove and anthemic hooks. Backed by Jens Bogren's massive production and Zbigniew Bielak's striking artwork, Krushers of the World proves Kreator aren't just surviving - they're still leading. Fueled by the reflective fire of their Hate & Hope film and Mille Petrozza's sharpened vision, this is a statement album: heavy, focused, and unstoppable.

Lantlos capture 'The Unfathomable Lightness of Being' like hardly any other band that started out under the influence of black metal at what now feels like a million years earlier. On their sixth studio album, "Nowhere in Between Forever", mastermind and sole musician Markus Skye (formerly known as Markus Siegenhort aka Herbst) takes the general direction of it's predecessor "Wildhund" ("Wild Dog") at least one step further. "Nowhere in Between Forever" offers a spiritual trip into the glittering world of the Nineties, when everything seemed somehow easy and possible. The album offers a collection of hit songs that are rooted in the current Lantlos sound, to which it adds elements from the digital sonic sphere that started to expand drastically during the final decade of the last millennium. On the other hand, it would be doing this album massive injustice to view it as pure nostalgia. As Skye notes, there is a hollow plastic feeling that is deliberately built into "Nowhere in Between Forever" and subtly casts a foreboding shadow of darker times to come. These musical plot-twists connect the easy-going, seemingly sunny and even poppy alternative rock and metal tracks to the black past of Lantlos. With "Nowhere in Between Forever", Lantlos confirm both the stylistic trajectory taken with the last two albums and their remarkable ability to create captivating tunes and beautiful melodies with a nearly frightening ease. Trigger warning: "Nowhere in Between Forever" contains only beautiful killers and no fillers!

When Programmed landed in 1990, Kentucky's Lethal delivered the kind of melodic heavy metal fans had been craving-tight, intelligent, and soaring. Often praised as "the best Queensrÿche record since Operation: Mindcrime," Programmed balances precision riffing, dynamic arrangements, and Tom Mallicoat's commanding vocals into songs that hit hard and linger long after the fade. From the opening surge of "Fire in Your Skin" and the anthemic "Programmed" to the breathtaking "Another Day," the album never let's up-melody, muscle, and conviction in perfect lockstep. For fans of Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, Crimson Glory, and Helloween, this Brutal Planet Records edition returns the album to the turntable with a striking Sky Blue Vinyl presentation, a new remaster by Rob Colwell, and fully authorized packaging from Metal Blade Records.

Does the term "concept album" send visions of grand orchestral choruses and strange mythological creatures vaulting through your mind? Well, this album's gonna change your mind. Forever. 1993's River Runs Red is a concept album, all right, but it's themes include alcoholism, physical abuse, and, ultimately, suicide. The record interpolates dramatic, staged skits that tell the story of a troubled teenager edging closer to self-harm between intensely personal songs penned by bassist Alan Robert that range stylistically from New York hardcore to gloom metal to grunge. The intensity just keeps ratcheting up until River Runs Red ends with the sound of blood from a suicide attempt dripping into bathwater. #which would ordinarily require a spoiler alert except for the fact that throughout the album the protagonist's trajectory is clearly headed in only one direction. Cult classic status is almost a given with a plotline like that, but in this case it's well earned; River Runs Red isn't just one of the greatest concept or metal albums ever made. It is, quite simply, one of the most powerful records ever made in any genre. An earlier vinyl reissue sold a bunch, but it's been out of print for over a decade; our remastered-for-vinyl release comes in a clear with red and blue swirl pressing manufactured at Gotta Groove Records and accompanied by an insert. A masterpiece.

Living Death was founded in 1981 by the two Kelch brothers, Reiner on guitar and Dieter on bass. In the early days, guest drummer Eric sat behind the drums. The line-up was completed by Frank Fricke on second guitar and singer Thorsten "Toto" Bergmann. Living Death recorded their first demo with three tracks in 1981, which earned them a deal with the Belgian label Mausoleum Records. A year later, their debut album, Vengeance of Hell was released. The album includes timeless thrash metal classics: "My Victim," "Heavy Metal Hurricane," "Hellpike," and the title track, "Vengeance of Hell." 30 years after it's initial release, the raw, unpolished sound of Living Death sounds more contemporary than ever.
