HIGH DESERT QUEEN's sophomore full-length ""Palm Reader"" is bursting with raw energy and radiates the feeling of 666 diesel horses thundering loud. The album is crammed with cool vibes, ripping leads, and a ton of desert fuzz with a focus on great songs rather than trying to stay confined within a corral of a particular style. This untamed attitude took it's creative high energy source straight from touring. When the band from Texas returned home after six weeks travelling the roads of Europe with the legendary FATSO JETSON and watching them improvising jams every night, they had also taken notes. Although a bit worn from the road, HIGH DESERT QUEEN could hardly wait to start recording. Joseph Tholl is widely known as a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. He gained international recognition as a founding member and guitarist of the speed metal band Enforcer, which he officially left in 2019. After his time with Enforcer, he formed Black Trip (later renamed Vojd) and is currently playing guitar in Tribulation. Following 2019's Devil's Drum, It Might Be Art is his second solo album. It was recorded and mixed at Humbucker Studio, which Tholl co-owns with Robert Pehrsson (also a High Roller Records artist). Tholl handles vocals, guitars, and most of the bass, as well as piano and synthesizer parts. Drum duties are shared by Robert Eriksson (The Hellacopters) and Jakob Ljungberg (Second Sun). In addition, the album features several guest appearances by musicians including Johannes Andersson (Tribulation), Tobias Lindkvist (Tyrann), Pia Stjärnvind (Serpent Omega), Adam Zaars (Tribulation), and Robert Pehrsson (Dundertåget, Robert Pehrsson's Humbucker). At times, influences from Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, New Model Army, and Midnight Oil can be glimpsed.
