Morning Star finds Këkht Aräkh arriving at a truer, more refined version of himself. Recorded between Berlin and Stockholm, the album emerges from a period of intense personal and artistic growth, blending aggressive black metal passages with immersive, textured soundscapes that feel both intimate and vast.Since his origins in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Dmitry (a.k.a. Crying Orc), the sole mastermind behind the project, has sought a distinctive path within black metal. This vision unfolded through his debut Through the Branches to Eternity EP (2018) and the albums Night & Love (2018) and Pale Swordsman (2021), establishing a signature tension between ferocious, visceral black metal and delicate, introspective ballads. On Morning Star, this dynamic reaches new depth. Created at a point of artistic clarity, the album explores a rawer, more personal emotional palette, shaped by stress, anxiety, and long stretches of writer’s block, giving it rare immediacy and vulnerability.
Dmitry recorded nearly all instruments himself, with drums by Jonathan (Spira Me, Vanskapth, Olycka). Bladee contributed vocals and co-wrote lyrics on “Eternal Martyr,” an unexpected collaboration that reveals intuitive chemistry. VS--55 and Varg2™ add abstract sampling and subtle textural design, giving Morning Star its distinctive grain and analog warmth, while James Ginzburg (Emptyset, Osmium) handled final mastering, enhancing dynamic depth and atmospheric richness.
Several tracks revisit earlier material with fresh perspectives. “Wänderer” and “Drömsång” are partially rerecorded or fully reimagined. Intense, driving passages collide with sparse, contemplative interludes, producing a landscape both visceral and haunting. Themes of isolation and wandering surface in “Wänderer,” dreamlike melancholy in “Drömsång,” existential struggle in “Angest,” and reflections on time and transformation in “Three Winters Away.”
With Morning Star, Këkht Aräkh synthesizes past explorations with new collaborative energy, producing a record that honors 90s black metal tradition while embracing lo-fi warmth, melancholic melodies, sonic experimentation, and emotional candor. The result is a deeply personal statement - an album that is both an arrival and a continuation of his artistic journey.

KNOCKED LOOSE:
As Knocked Loose chipped away at what would become their third album, they felt the pressure from all sides. Internally, there was the need to challenge themselves as songwriters while retaining the merciless intensity and unflinching honesty that have always been their calling cards. Externally, there was a whole new set of eyes on the hard-touring Louisville quintet, following a banner year in which they’d brought their underground-seasoned sound to some of the world’s biggest stages, finding themselves the unlikely viral darlings of both Coachella and Bonnaroo.
The creative process was arduous, with the band writing close to 40 songs across a span of four years before locking in the 10 tracks that make up new LP You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To. But in the end, vocalist Bryan Garris, guitarists Isaac Hale and Nicko Calderon, bassist Kevin Otten and drummer Kevin “Pac Sun” Kaine honed a diverse, cohesive and savagely intense album that both sums up the massive strides they’ve taken during their decade as a band, and asserts their boundless potential going forward.
Raging lead single “Blinding Faith” skillfully wields whiplash tempo changes in service of a scathing indictment of religious groupthink. “Don’t Reach for Me” combines the band’s signature frenzied attack with deliberate catchiness and refreshing sonic variety. While “Suffocate,” featuring pop-meets-metal trailblazer Poppy, contrasts an oppressive heaviness befitting the title with a dance-y, syncopated groove and, midway through, the most concussive reggaeton rhythm you’ve ever heard.
The album title — a phrase that a fellow passenger said to Garris to soothe his severe air-travel anxiety during a particularly trying flight — strikes a note of reassurance. But glossing over negative emotions isn’t what Knocked Loose are about. The new songs find them plumbing new depths of loathing — directed both inward and outward — and tortuous anguish. Musically, they’re leaning into their most extreme impulses, from blastbeat-driven fury, chaotic turbulence and seismic breakdowns, while seasoning the mix with ear-catching auxiliary percussion, evocative samples and shout-along hooks, all interwoven to perfection by Grammy-nominated, pop-savy producer Drew “WZRD BLD” Fulk.
There’s no ceiling for hardcore in 2024 — even an outfit as uncompromising as Knocked Loose can turn up in mainstream-adjacent spaces and win over new fans. But there’s a center to what they do that will never change: uncompromising heaviness, both sonically and thematically. What is evolving is their drive to find new ways to convey that heaviness, and add tasteful variety that only highlights their undiminished ferocity. Everywhere Knocked Loose have been is here on this record — but so is everywhere they may yet go.

Lantlos capture 'The Unfathomable Lightness of Being' like hardly any other band that started out under the influence of black metal at what now feels like a million years earlier. On their sixth studio album, "Nowhere in Between Forever", mastermind and sole musician Markus Skye (formerly known as Markus Siegenhort aka Herbst) takes the general direction of it's predecessor "Wildhund" ("Wild Dog") at least one step further. "Nowhere in Between Forever" offers a spiritual trip into the glittering world of the Nineties, when everything seemed somehow easy and possible. The album offers a collection of hit songs that are rooted in the current Lantlos sound, to which it adds elements from the digital sonic sphere that started to expand drastically during the final decade of the last millennium. On the other hand, it would be doing this album massive injustice to view it as pure nostalgia. As Skye notes, there is a hollow plastic feeling that is deliberately built into "Nowhere in Between Forever" and subtly casts a foreboding shadow of darker times to come. These musical plot-twists connect the easy-going, seemingly sunny and even poppy alternative rock and metal tracks to the black past of Lantlos. With "Nowhere in Between Forever", Lantlos confirm both the stylistic trajectory taken with the last two albums and their remarkable ability to create captivating tunes and beautiful melodies with a nearly frightening ease. Trigger warning: "Nowhere in Between Forever" contains only beautiful killers and no fillers!

Last Remains took shape around 1989/1990 after guitarist Adam Tranquilli parted ways with New Jersey thrashers BLOOD FEAST, joining forces with former KILLIGY drummer Adam Kieffer, Bob McLynn on bass, and initial vocalist Rich Caputo. The group set out to develop a heavy-yet-melodic sound that would remain powerful without venturing toward the "balls-out speed thrashing" Tranquilli had explored with BLOOD FEAST.In 1991, the quartet's debut two-song demo was recorded at Waterfront Studio with Doug Conroy (who had handled some of the BLOOD FEAST recordings, JERSEY DOGS, etc.), after which Caputo was replaced with a mysterious new singer referred to as simply O.T. This lineup tracked 1992's six-song Grasp for Existence demo at Studio E in Garfield, NJ with David Derr, becoming a bit more diverse and technical, unconcerned with any particular boundaries.O.T. seemingly vanished prior to another six-song demo,... And Then There Were Three, once more laid down with David Derr at Studio E in 1993. Now operating as a trio with Tranquilli and McLynn splitting lead vocal duties, this material represented a significant shift toward a more aggressive, groove-tinged brand of thrash, though not without the atypical twists and turns of Last Remains' prior compositions.Shortly after it's release, the band was quickly signed to Pavement Music, decided upon a name change to HEADLOCK, and ultimately issued a lone full-length, It Found Me, the following year. This iteration would continue into the mid-'90s, at which point Tranquilli left, HEADLOCK morphed into a project called TRIGGERFISH, and then-with only McLynn remaining- THE STEP KINGS. Thus, not entirely lost to time, Last Remains/HEADLOCK was able to leave a proper mark on the scene, both through their recordings and having been able to perform live alongside a range of acts from HADES, KREATOR, and OVERKILL to MADBALL, M.O.D. and PRONG.Now, over three decades later, Divebomb Records is excited to resurrect the complete recorded history of Last Remains - including two of the rarest bonus tracks - in the form of the 17-song Grasp for Existence: The Demo Anthology CD. Newly remastered by Jamie King Audio, the collection will be housed with a 20-page booklet jammed-tight with lyrics, photos, flyers, and a retrospective interview with Adam Tranquilli. For the fans, by the fans!

2026 release. Intense and intensely personal, The Dead Ones marks The Last Ten Seconds of Life's Metal Blade label debut. For the 10 original tracks of pulverizing deathcore produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Pennsylvania's Atrium Audio, the band focused on "the guitar/bass/drum tones as well as the mix/master to achieve a super-thick sonic output and 'rolling-tank'-like feel," guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin explains. Four stellar guests are featured on the album - "Make It to Heaven" has David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm; Nate Johnson, ex-Fit For an Autopsy, appears on "Rat Trap;" "Dollar to a Dime" has Alan Grnja of Distant; and "XXXXXXXXXX" features original TLTSOL vocalist Storm Strope. When Programmed landed in 1990, Kentucky's Lethal delivered an album that many hailed as "the best Queensrÿche record since Operation: Mindcrime." Blending the muscle of American power metal with the sophistication of melodic heavy metal, the band achieved songs that combine intelligence, melody, and might in perfect balance.Frontman Tom Mallicoat commands every moment with soaring, expressive vocals, while brothers Eric and Glen Cook drive the music with dynamic twin-guitar harmonies and intricate arrangements. From the opening firestorm "Fire in Your Skin" to the title track "Programmed" and the emotional centerpiece "Another Day", the album never falters-each song delivering technical mastery and heartfelt conviction. Remastered by Rob Colwell and presented in a jewel case with a 12-page photo/lyric booklet, this Metal Icon Series edition restores Programmed with vivid clarity and punch. From the midnight shadows to the blazing stage lights, Lizzy Borden has always thrived on spectacle and sound. The Best of Lizzy Borden, Vol. 2 captures that spirit in full force - 16 tracks from 2004-2018 that prove the band's ability to evolve while never losing their razor-edged theatrical fire. Vol. 2 picks up where 1994's Best of Lizzy' Borden leaves off, containing 12 tracks that showcase the Deal with the Devil (2000), Appointment with Death (2007) and My Midnight Things (2018) albums.Housed in a jewel case with an 8-page booklet of lyrics and photos, this release has been digitally remastered by Tom Baker (Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Judas Priest, Stone Temple Pilots), with additional CD engineering by Rob Colwell.Exclusive to this edition are two cover songs - "Pet Sematary" (The Ramones) and "Burnin' For You" (Blue Öyster Cult) - making their first appearance on physical format, along with two rare Starwood tracks, "Won't Back Down" and "Subculture", originally from the album If It Ain't Broke, Break It (recently reissued on vinyl by Brutal Planet Records).More than a retrospective, this is a dramatic statement of Lizzy Borden's modern era. LORD OF THE LOST bring their ambitious album trilogy to a brilliant finale with OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. A direct continuation of OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, which were both unveiled in 2025, it releases on April 10, 2026 and gloriously expands on the genre-defying band’s opus. The most out of the box of the three, the third and final part of their latest journey has the six-piece end this chapter of their career on a fulminant high note, intertwining heavy guitars and dark electronica with compassionate messages and cinematic orchestrals. Another 11 enchanting songs extend the Hamburg-based band’s colorful repertoire. Following the captivating BLOOD & GLITTER, which brought them to the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and a #1 chart entry in their native Germany to go along with it, LORD OF THE LOST once again demonstrate their unmatched diversity. Initiated by beautiful cello melodies, “Kill The Lights” is an overture like no other, setting a dark mood, but also unafraid to switch it up to make room for catchy and reassuring “I’m A Diamond” featuring Alea, frontman of German medieval metal torchbearers SALTATIO MORTIS. “My Funeral”, despite the name, picks up the positive message, expanding the near-gothic soundscapes while sprinkling in tongue-in-cheek lyrics, promoting black as a happy color – wear pink to their funeral! Stomping “I Hate People” invites horror punk icon WEDNESDAY 13 to an industrial duet about equality, after which gentle “The Shadows Within” hits twice as hard with its symphonic arrangement. Next, Chris Harms and parting KISSIN’ DYNAMITE frontman Hannes Braun deliver the bombastic “La Vie Est Hell” (based on Charles Baudelaire’s influential book of poetry, “Les Fleurs du mal”) partly in French language, before going back to “Square One”. “When Did The Love Break?” is a heartfelt song of lost love – the addition of whimsical vocals by Ambre Vourvahis of XANDRIA drives the emotions of this universal topic right home. After “Your Love Is Colder Than Death”, LORD OF THE LOST team up with Damien Edwards of British glam rock band CATS IN SPACE for the captivating duet “Take Me Far Away”, before the album closes with a ballad, “The Days Of Our Lives” – the sweeping track simultaneously being the closest LORD OF THE LOST have ever been to a cinematic soundtrack. The happy ending is skipped, almost making it sound like a goodbye… OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 continues to walk LORD OF THE LOST’s unpredictable journey without settling for the familiar. Rounding off an impressive trilogy, this record takes you by the hand and guides you along your darkest paths. OPVS NOIR Vol. 3: the trilogy is finally concluded.

You will be able to enjoy the work of bassist Steve Harris as producer of the band Slammer. You'll also hear Stratus, drummer's Clive Burr band after leaving Maiden. Also included are the big hits of the first two albums of the band (their favorites for many fans) with the voice of Paul Di'Anno, the original singer. All these rarities and more, complete this important album not only for Iron Maiden fans, but also for all hard-rock music lovers.

With their new opus Liturgy of Death, MAYHEM reaffirm their status as the most uncompromising force in Norwegian Black Metal. After four decades of extremity, the band has reached a new apex of darkness: faster, fiercer, and more sinister than anything in their recent catalog. The album unfolds as a relentless meditation on death in all its manifestations – existential, spiritual, and absolute. From the furious chaos of “Despair” and “Funeral of Existence” to the bleak grandeur of “Ephemeral Eternity” and “Aeon’s End”, each track drags the listener deeper into a ritual of misery and transcendence. “Propitious Death” and “The Sentence of Absolution intertwine brutality with ominous atmosphere, while “Life Is a Corpse You Drag” and “Sancta Mendacia” leave no doubt that Mayhem remain unmatched in channeling despair into sound. With Necrobutcher, Hellhammer, Attila, Teloch, and Ghul locked into a unit tighter than ever, Liturgy of Death presents a band not content to rest on legacy but determined to push the boundaries of extremity itself. The result is a merciless record – dark, fast, and unrelenting – that captures Mayhem in their most dangerous and vital form. Forty years since their birth in Langhus, MAYHEM continue to embody chaos, proving once more that Norwegian Black Metal is a force without end. After two co-headling tours over the past decade, (the) Melvins are continuing their long tradition with us of teaming up with another band on an album. Next up- Napalm Death! This isn't just some split release with the bands each getting a side. Savage Imperial Death March is a full collab with both Melvins & Napalm Death playing together on all 8 tracks.
This release originally came out in super limited CD and Vinyl via AmRepin 2025 (tour and AmRep store only). This will be an extended version with 2 extra songs, brand new artwork from Mackie Osborne, new vinyl variants, and will be the official release for the first time at record stores, DSPs and more. Napalm Death are credited as pioneers of the grindcore genre by incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal. Even after exerting an indelible influence in the entire world of. heavy music for nearly 40 years, there is still no band on Earth that sounds like Naplam Death. Not just pioneers, but an enduring benchmark for invention and fearlessness in a heavy and experimental music of all kinds, the Birmingham legends are still hurtling forward at full pelt.
The Melvins are one of modern music's most influential bands. Having formed in 1983, the group - founded by vocalist/guitarist Buzz Osborne, with drummer Dale Crover joining a year later - has been credited with merging the worlds of punk rock and heavy music, forming a new subgenre all their own. Over their 40-plus-year career, they've released more than 30 original albums, numerous live records, and far too many to count singles.
