Looks Can Be Deceiving The Eric Martin Band's sophomore album, Looks Can Be Deceiving, retains the core AOR and melodic rock sound of their 1983 debut, Sucker For A Pretty Face. However, Looks Can Be Deceiving brings a noticeable, grittier hard-rock edge to the songs, foreshadowing Eric Martin's future work in the supergroup Mr. Big.

Pittsburgh's Eviction tore onto the late-'80s underground scene like a Molotov cocktail - fast, defiant, and unapologetically loud. Their 1990 debut The World Is Hours Away captured the raw collision of thrash precision and punk rebellion, creating one of the most underrated crossover records of it's time. This 2026 Brutal Planet Records Metal Icon Series edition gives the album the deluxe treatment it deserves. Remastered by Rob Colwell, it hits harder and cleaner than ever, while the 16-page booklet dives deep into the band's history - packed with stories, photos, flyers, and the gritty spirit that fueled Pittsburgh's scene.Best of all, this expanded edition includes the entire 1993 Think Tank demo as bonus tracks - six rare cuts that show Eviction evolving their sound while holding tight to their hardcore roots. With songs like "Listen," "Drunken State," "Marching Off to War," and "American Way," Eviction proved they could hang with any of the era's heavy hitters. For those who crave that perfect mix of speed, grit, and attitude - where Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., and C.O.C. collide - this is a must-have resurrection of a crossover classic.

Swedish death metal trio Eye of Purgatory return with Darkborne - a powerful new chapter forged by Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Ribspreader), Taylor Nordberg (The Absence, Venom Inc. ) and Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc. , Inhuman Condition). The album captures the spirit of classic Swedish death metal: dark, atmospheric and full of organic weight - yet with a melodic and emotional depth that makes every track feel alive. The cover artwork, once again created by Dan Goldsworthy (Accept, Alestorm, Cradle of Filth), perfectly reflects the album's mix of melancholy and menace. Darkborne isn't about nostalgia; it's a continuation of a sound that values emotion and atmosphere as much as sheer heaviness.

LOS ANGELES, CA, hard rock veterans Fear Not have officially announced the release of their blistering new 5-song EP, The Blind Leading The Blind, arriving March 20, 2026 via Roxx Records and NoLifeTilMetal Records.Forged in the fire of the late-1980s Los Angeles rock scene, Fear Not return with renewed intensity, delivering the heavy-hitting riffs, commanding vocals, and soaring melodic hooks that have defined their legacy for decades. The upcoming EP captures a band operating at full throttle - sharper, heavier, and more focused than ever.Originally formed in 1987, the group first recorded and performed under the name Love Life before evolving into Fear Not in 1992. Built on the enduring musical foundation of Chris Howell, Gary Hanson, Larry Worley, and Rod Romero, the band has long been known for it's unapologetic fusion of commercial hard rock accessibility and uncompromising metal edge. Now, with the addition of powerhouse frontman Eddie Green, Fear Not entered a bold new chapter. The Blind Leading The Blind showcases a revitalized line-up firing on all cylinders, pairing classic metal influences with modern production muscle and a message that hits harder than ever. The cover art was developed by Scott Waters (NoLifeTilMetal Graphics) and Eddie Green using new AI technology and mixing it with Scott's artistry. The new EP arrives on the heels of the band's acclaimed 2022 full-length Fields Of Sorrow and their 2025 EP Weight Of The World, both of which marked a significant creative resurgence. With this latest release, Fear Not prove their brand of Southern-influenced metal and hard rock remains not only relevant - but dangerous.

Good Shot, released by Belgian heavy metal band FN GUNS in 1990, reflects the energy and evolution of the band throughout it's career. Recorded with the new guitarist Pat Lemoine (from the Belgian band CRYME), the album continues in the tradition of the band's previous albums, uniquely blending classic heavy metal with elements of hard rock.Formed in 1982 in Liège, Belgium, FN GUNS gained notoriety with their self-produced debut album Wild Child (1982). After signing with Mausoleum Records, they released the mini-album FN Guns (1983) and Nightmare (1984). In 1987, they released the album Burnin' Out with some changes in the lineup. For Good Shot, the band already had Steve Rodgers on vocals and the addition of Pat Lemoine on guitar brought a new dynamic to the sound.Good Shot features nine tracks that mix heavy riffs and melodic hooks. Tracks like "Don't Cross The Line" and "S.O.S. For Love" highlight the band's ability to create catchy songs, while the cover of The Beatles' "I'm the Walrus" offers a metallic reinterpretation of an all-time classic. A Forest of Stars are the physical manifestation of what can confidentially be called 'British Black Metal'. "Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface", the grandiose sixth full-length by the band from West Yorkshire is the sonic expression of this distinct and discernible local variant of the genre. "Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface" sends it's tendril-like roots deep into British musical soil. In his recitative mode, vocalist Curse is even reminiscent of electro poet Anne Clark - after a steady diet of prescription drugs and rusty nails. Another sonic pillar on which "Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface" stands, is the violin of Katheryne aka Queen of the Ghosts. Her melodies time and time again build beautiful bridges over the dissonant churning of electric guitars as the latter gloriously luxuriate in the chaos they create. On the harsh side of their unique sound, A Forest of Stars make use of the full spectrum that both classic heavy and black metal have to offer - with deadly and progressive moments meticulously slotted into all the right places. Connoisseurs of the black arts will not fail to notice that the collective from Leeds beg to differ from traditional Norse berserkir in the wake of MAYHEM, as well as contemporary compatriots such as WINTERFYLLETH. A Forest of Stars have used their temporary hiatus well to craft a collection of excellent songs. In their quest for perfection, they even discarded an entire finished album and started again from scratch. "Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface" is undoubtedly pure A Forest of Stars: complex, catchy, contradictory - and completely individualistic. Welcome to British Black Metal!

With their fourth full-length album Signal Fire, GENGHIS TRON awaken us from the post-apocalyptic daydreams of their previous work with a violent—and most welcome—shove. This time, the distant-future reveries we first heard on Board Up The House give way to an unsettling awareness of the present we’re actually living, as our circumstances grow too pressing to try and escape.
“Signal Fire envisions a Kojima-esque dystopia of endless proxy warfare,” says vocalist and lyricist Tony Wolski (The Armed), “where the deluge of available information has outmoded the human ability to parse it. A world where those amoral, shameless and cunning enough can literally reshape reality at their whim through sheer insistence."
Having roared onto the scene in 2004 with a uniquely demented blend of extreme metal, synthesizer textures, and drum-machine madness, GENGHIS TRON are no strangers to making a forceful impression. But Signal Fire marks the first time bandleaders Michael Sochynsky and Hamilton Jordan –joined again by Wolski and Nick Yacyshyn (SUMAC) on drums, plus newcomer Kenny Szymanski (The Armed) on bass–has captured this level of urgency with such visceral precision. “This album is very much rooted in the now,” confirms Jordan.
Album opener “I Am All” sets the table with a chest-throbbing synth pulse as Wolski declares “I’m on a tear, I’m on a tear,” over swirling industrial rhythms and creeping synthlines. “Nothing Blooms in the Hollow” grafts desert-rock swagger onto interlocking layers of dizzying riffs and chants before Wolski steers the band into full-on sonic burnout, like a spaceship careening into the sun. “Born Prey” navigates deftly through Genghis Tron’s classic sonic touchpoints: furious blastbeats, electronic breaks, haunting vocal earworms, and a towering synth-pop crescendo. Meditative interludes like “Like Fotocrom” and “Without Form” deliver shimmering, ominous beauty. And “New Gods” invokes Rabies-era Skinny Puppy to bring the album to a bludgeoning, anthemic finale, as Wolski screams on repeat: “New gods to bleed me out / No new peace / Bleed me out / I love it.”
Twenty years into their career, having proven their ability to forge common ground between Ministry and Aphex Twin, between Brutal Truth and Boards Of Canada, between Cluster and Converge, ugly-beautiful new genre hybrids from GENGHIS TRON no longer come as a surprise. What’s remarkable, however, is how Sochynsky and Jordan have taken a project that started in 2004 as a dorm-room genre-pastiche experiment —”a chaotic, wild amalgamation of all our favorite stuff, literally slammed together,” says Jordan—and refined their songwriting craft to deliver a sound that is unmistakably their own.

With their third album Projections, UK doom metal juggernaut Godthrymm have completed their Visions Trilogy begun with 2020's their Reflections debut album and followed with 2023's acclaimed Distortions. During the band's discourse since the release of Reflections, Godthrymm have been recognized as the new emerging band from the UK to bring back the glorious aura of early-mid '90s UK doom metal, most notably formulated by the Peaceville Three (My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Anathema). As expected, considering the band was formed and helmed by UK doom metal veteran Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride / Vallenfyre / Solstice) and features doom metal drummer extraordinaire Shaun Taylor-Steels (ex-My Dying Bride / Anathema / Solstice). So in this sense, the classic UK doom metal DNA has already been implemented within their sonic fabric. Projections sees Godthrymm continue to develop and broaden their sound even further, building upon the cornerstones of Distortions. Now with an expanded lineup which includes keyboardist co-vocalist Catherine Glencross, bassist Bob Crolla and new second guitarist Kris McLaughin, Projections is their most layered, varied and complex release yet, all while still upholding the colossal emotionally charged heavy doom backbone that has defined the core of the band's sound.

Originally dubbed Godzilla, after the scaly, green film star with an equally huge reputation as the newfound band's sound, the brothers Duplantier - guitars/vocalist Joe and Drummer Mario - and fellow Frenchman Michel Labadie on bass and Christian Andreu on guitar, quickly released several demos, ultimately changing the band's name and independently releasing the first Gojira album, "Terra Incognita" in 2001, offering up a brief glimpse into the giant Gojira would eventually become through persistent hard work and years of toiling in the metal underground. Now remastered and for the very first time available in LP version with 3 exclusive live bonuses, Gojira's "Terra Incognita" album, seen by their fans as the band's ultimate classic, will undoubtedly draw major interest worldwide as the band is destroying festivals across Europe!
