Artists making pop music today are expected to calcify as one easily consumable version of themselves, or capitulate wildly to the capricious algorithm. Murex, a Swedish musician and artist, and one of Young Recordings' latest signings, is already an accomplished songwriter, propelling the work of women challenging those constraints their way. Inventio spreads it's wings beyond that. Across a glitching, glimmering constellation of 10 tracks, the record redraws the boundaries of her own subconscious through daring harmonic modulations, glitchy electronica, and frenetic orchestral sequencing. Deeply informed by Nordic folklore, it moves through a journey confronting body dysmorphia, control, and a staccatoing sense of self - reaching toward creative and emotional liberation through ethereal, amorphous avant-pop. Within the work, the artist made the deliberate choice to take the focus away from her physical self - a protest, but also a tribute to the countless versions that form one person. ""It's not about disappearing or being anonymous,"" she says, ""more about loosening the grip of appearance, and letting the work exist without being defined by it."" Named for Bach's Inventions - played on piano growing up - Inventio carries a Baroque sensibility: trilling polyphonic textures and lush vocal harmonies rising above it all. Sonic touchstones include Björk, Elizabeth Fraser, and the kulning-style singing of Lena Willemark. Made across three years in Sweden, the album was built without Murex knowing it would become one. Collaborators including Pelle Westlin, Isak Hedtjärn, and Elvira Anderfjärd gave the work what Murex calls ""extra arms."" All music videos are directed by Murex herself. ""Making this album gave me back authority and power. I hope it's just as freeing to listen to.""

Overmono's long-awaited new album Pure Devotion lands on 7th August 2026. Marking the beginning of what promises to be a monumental year for the Welsh brothers, it's an album created by happy accidents, machine malfunctions, beautiful imperfections and the unflinching confidence Overmono have gained since their breakthrough as one of the defining dance music acts of the 2020s. Their 2023 debut album Good Lies, hailed by The Guardian as "UK rave history distilled to perfection," announced them to the world, and a string of collaborations with Joy Orbison, High Contrast, Fred Again.., Lil Yachty, and The Streets has kept them at the forefront ever since. All the while, Overmono have developed an award-winning audio-visual live show which they took to new heights in 2025 with landmark headline slots at Glastonbury and a sold-out Alexandra Palace. The final album is both a love letter to early 80s New York and a tribute to the late, great Dave Ball. Electronic music legends Soft Cell, aka singer and frontman Marc Almond and multi-instrumentalist and producer Dave Ball, are set to release 'Danceteria', their sixth and final studio album. 'Danceteria' the album is a big, classy and playful farewell to 47 years of Marc and Dave making music as Soft Cell and features career-defining performances from our electronic pop legends. Reminiscent of Sparks and Pet Shop Boys and with lyrics Lady Gaga would kill for, the album takes you on a vivid journey through a day in early 80s New York, bouncing round the clock from night to bleary daybreak and headlong back into the club. Marc provides an initial snapshot into the album: "Danceteria is a love letter to New York in the early 80's. The time we spent in New York - where we recorded our first 3 albums - shaped us both as artists and people. To celebrate this period is a fitting farewell to Dave Ball and the final Soft Cell studio album." 'Danceteria' is equally a tribute to the late, great Dave Ball. The final album is one of the last bodies of work Ball co-wrote and produced before his sad, untimely passing on the 22nd of October 2025. Almond led the obituaries, describing Dave as a "brilliant musical genius". The world's media followed, hailing him as an electronic music pioneer, plus music stars including Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe from the Pet Shop Boys, Mute Records' Daniel Miller, Cabaret Voltaire and Richard Norris from Dave's techno duo The Grid contributing an outpouring of elegiac praise. Dave finished 'Danceteria' two days before he passed away, and it is in full tribute to him that the album release went ahead as planned. It is also because of Dave's passing that 'Danceteria' simply has to be the last Soft Cell album, as Marc explains: 'There can be no more recordings of Soft Cell without Dave, it would not be possible. The sad reality is that Dave Ball was half of Soft Cell, and live work aside, I can't write Soft Cell songs without him."

Following their acclaimed 2024 debut, UK electronic duo Two Shell return with Infinite Now, a reminder of the fundamental power of dance music, the sugar-rush of abandon that comes when you lose yourself to it all and remain in the moment. It's a celebration of the basic reason that dance music exists: instead of asking listeners to understand what's happening and make sense of it, Infinite Now asks them to hold on and feel it. It's still layered, there's still complexity to the production but it's just not that deep. The vaporized vocalists you hear across Infinite Now are unnamed and sound like they've beamed down from another dimension - ghosts in the machine. In Two Shell's own words, "Music doesn't need to be solved, it just needs to be experienced."

RuPaul’s Foxy Lady is a high-gloss, funk-infused pop statement that captures the superstar at the height of her ’90s cultural takeover. Released in 1996 as the follow-up to her breakthrough Supermodel of the World, the album delivered club-ready hits like “Snapshot,” which became a Top 5 smash on the Billboard Dance chart and solidified RuPaul’s status as a dance-floor powerhouse.
Foxy Lady blends house, R&B, and glitter-coated pop with Ru’s signature charisma, weaving empowerment, camp, and diva bravado into every hook. The album’s vibrant production - courtesy of Eric Kupper, Richard “Humpty” Vission, and other dance heavyweights - makes it feel like a runway playlist built for strutting and celebrating.
Though overlooked by mainstream radio at the time, it became a fan-favorite era, widely embraced in clubs and by LGBTQ+ audiences who saw RuPaul pushing drag into the pop mainstream long before it was common. Today, Foxy Lady stands as a bold, joyfully unapologetic snapshot of RuPaul’s expanding empire - an album that still sparkles with confidence, glamour, and attitude.

4 panel gatefold wallet. Seefeel return with their first full-length album in fifteen years - a beautiful, hazy and blissed out collection of fractured melodies and vaporous textures. In some ways, this can be regarded as Seefeel's 'dub' album - the deceptively cloud-like arrangements of Mark Clifford are somewhat ambient adjacent at low volume, but blasting out of a proper sound system, the cavernous bass undertow and skilful employment of effects are more apparent, messing with the listener's perception of time and audio placement. As always with Seefeel though, it never drifts too far into cold experimentalism or synthetic texture, the heavily manipulated vocals of Sarah Peacock lending the tracks a vital human element, with processed guitar loops allowing slivers of melody to drift through the trails of delay. The longtime perception of the band as sitting at the overlap point between electronic music and experimental guitar music meant that they were often overlooked during their original lifespan, not making music that was instantly recognisable to either scene. Over the years though, this blurring of genre lines increasingly looks prescient of where music was headed, steadily building a catalogue of music that hasn't aged in quite the same way as some of their contemporaries. Their influence has been cited by a new generation of artists such as Maria Somerville and Yu Su, and they return in 2026 with Sol. Hz, a collection of new tracks that further reinforce the idea that Seefeel's time has finally come.

Tom Jenkinson, aka Squarepusher, presents Kammerkonzert, a riot of onyx-hard, hyperfast riffs, fiendish orchestral themes, and handbrake turns through varieties of progressive, ambient, electronic andexperimental music. The singular producer, experimental musician and creator of futuristic forms of fusion, has a three-decade-long back catalogue studded with a variety of jewel-like records. From the furious breakbeat acid and pulverising live bass guitar attack of Feed Me Weird Things (1996) to the literal and self-explanatory Music For Robots (2014) via the virtuosic live showcase of Solo Electric Bass 1 (2009) and the otherworldly concrète jazz of Ultravisitor (2004) few contemporary musicians have covered as much ground in as sure-footed a manner. But despite this reach, his three decade output is only typified by two things: unpredictability and rule breaking. Given that his new album on Warp, Kammerkonzert, is essentially a chamber concerto with Jenkinson himself playing all of the parts it's safe to say he has come a long way since his crystalline drum & bass debut for the label in 1996, Port Rhombus EP. Twenty-one albums in, Kammerkonzert is the start of a new era for Squarepusher as a composer.
