Jack Callahan and Je? Witscher were tired. They had each been toiling in the American underground experimental music scene since the turn of the millennium, under names you may or may not recognize: Rene Hell, Marble Sky, die Reihe, too many to name. Their first full length Think Di?erently was the result of a confluence of end points: the dissolution of their underground scene and, in no small part because of that, the abstract music they had made separately and together as long as they could remember was not hitting like it used to. Where else to go but to the other side of the horseshoe: pop music. So why not heed the writing on the wall? Make a turn-of-the-millennium guitar-driven pop rock anthem record about being aging underground musicians who don't want to make noise music anymore. Well, Sorry to Hear That is a record about Think Di?erently. If Think Di?erently was a meta-conceptual record, Sorry to Hear That is a meta-meta-conceptual record. Meta Meta+Hodos. It was recorded over the course of 9 months in the wake of the first record. It was a period of personal and professional disruption: their initial optimism from the attention Think Di?erently received quickly spiraled into zealotry, inevitably descending into fear, disappointment and fracture. The record they wound up making is a document of and a narrative about this time period. Sorry to Hear That is a sequel that continues where the first left o? sonically and conceptually. Here we have more guitar, more breakbeats, more navel-gazing malaise, more humorous self-e?acement. It captures perfectly what the duo had set out to convey from the onset; it is a blistering record filled with commentary from both sides of the aisle, the player and the played, amped up to infinity. Sorry to Hear That features a number of guest appearances from old and new comrades in the trenches of independent music: Shed Theory ringleader Marlon DuBois, Dylan Baldi and Jayson Gerycz of Cloud Nothings, Flannery Silva aka F.G.S., Jazz Lambaux and others.

In this sixth album the Choir of Girton College, Cambridge, continues it's pioneering exploration of the music of the Italian Renaissance master Marc'Antonio Ingegneri (c. 1535/36-92) with a programme exploring in music Christ's relationship with his disciples - twelve motets, symbolising the twelve disciples, framing the five-voice Missa Kyrie Secundi Toni, all in their first recordings. These further discoveries confirm Ingegneri's position as one of the masters of his age, writing music as expressive and moving as his better-known contemporaries Palestrina and Lassus - and just as individual. Hardly any other event during Mozart Week has remained so vividly in visitors' memories as the 1994 production of Ombra felice.Mozart's creative excess in the field of opera is evident not only in fragments of stage works such as Zaide KV 344, L'oca del Cairo KV 422 and Lo sposo deluso KV 430, but also in the more than seventy arias and ensembles he composed as individual works. Some of these are abandoned or unfinished drafts, as Mozart's singers (or sometimes Mozart himself) were not entirely satisfied with them, while others were contributions to foreign opera productions, which were often performed in the form of pasticcios at that time. This broad compilation thus provides a good overview of Mozart's aria compositions. UPC: 4260415080950Label: BelvedereRelease Date: 4.17.26Format: CD

Greetings from Florida: Postcards from Paradise is a new genre-blending song cycle from composer Scott Lee featuring jazz vocalist-guitarist Camila Meza. The album explores the tension between an imagined Florida and the reality experienced by those who are drawn to the state: retirees, tourists, immigrants, and nature lovers. Eight poems by Cuban American poet Carolina Hospital serve as lyrics, each reflecting a different side of Florida, from tourism and retirement to climate crisis and ecological loss.Written for Camila Meza and chamber ensemble, the music blends contemporary classical elements with jazz idioms and pop song structures. Meza's jazz/pop vocals and driving guitar glide over top of noisy, pointillistic grooves performed by a top-notch chamber ensemble of Floridian musicians who deftly execute Lee's complex scores. Together, the poems and music invite listeners to look beyond the postcard and experience Florida in all it's complexity, fragility, and beauty.

"Do not eat or drink anything past midnight prior to your appointment- NO FOOD, NO LIQUID". Non-sensical, un-user friendly, at times half finished. Camper Van Beethoven's second album II & III saw the folk-punk of the band's debut LP morphing into a coherently incoherent collection of some of the band's most defining songs. Originally released in 1986, the follow up to Telephone Free Landslide Victory did much to develop an already iconoclastic Camper Van Beethoven idiom. II & III ranges from alt-country ballads ("Sad Lovers' Waltz") to call-backs to the European folk instrumentals of the debut ("No Krugerrands For David", "4 Year Plan"). Also featured is the band's bluegrass-Americana take on Sonic Youth's "I Love Her All the Time", feeding their appetite for cover songs. This deluxe double CD set brings together the original II & III album with a 17 track live album of material from Camper Van Beethoven shows supporting REM on their Life's Rich Pageant tour. This audio was mostly recorded at the Lincoln, Nebraska show from October 10th, 1986, but is supplemented with audio from other shows of the tour.

Mute and Can are excited to announce the repress of Ege Bamyasi on limited edition green vinyl. Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed a group which would utilise and transcend all boundaries of ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music.Ege Bamyasi drops the haze and hits with a sharp pang from the get-go. Often described as the “tense” Can album, Ege Bamyasi is actually the band at its most focused, bolstered in part by the excellent performance of the single “Spoon”. The proto synth-pop (or synth-rock) song was used as the theme to a popular German television show. The album most famously includes “Vitamin C” which according to Pitchfork is “…still the best funk ever to come out of Europe.”Can’s powerful influence has never diminished, and their indelible mark is apparent in the bands who freely acknowledge their importance - from Portishead, James Murphy, New Order, Factory Floor, Public Image Ltd, Mogwai, Kanye West (who sampled ‘Sing Swan Song’) to Radiohead - as well as artists creating across other disciplines including visual art and literature.Ege BamyasiTrack List

The ongoing Schubert + series produced by pianist Can Çakmur has revealed an exceptional Schubertian. Now in it's sixth instalment, the series juxtaposes Schubert's works with those of composers he inspired. This latest program shines a spotlight on Robert Schumann. Schumann held Schubert in the highest esteem and was one of the first to recognise him as one of the most visionary composers to have ever lived and this alone would have justified this coupling. However, Çakmur delves deeper, using the program as a springboard for a philosophical discussion about naturalism within German Romanticism. The program features Schubert's brilliant Sonata in D major, D 850, composed in 1825 in the spa town of Bad Gastein. It's composition amidst the Alpine scenery likely sparked his imagination, echoing the themes of millers, hunters, forests, and mountains prevalent in his songs. Robert Schumann's Waldszenen (Forest Scenes) continues this thread of inspiration. In these nine miniatures, Schumann returns to the happy and simple lyricism reminiscent of early works like Kinderszenen. The program concludes with Schumann's Three Phantasiestucke, Op. 111, included, according to Çakmur, for the uncanny similarity between it's second piece and the slow movement of Schubert's Sonata. This program promises a compelling journey into the heart of German Romanticism, guided by Can Çakmur through the works of two of it's most pivotal figures. This is a pressing variant most likely from [l348639.
It has the same 2.875" pressing ring that is usually found on the labels

pressings from "All Disc Records")
The labels use a different typeface and text layout on this version.
It has been suggested that these labels were printed by "The Bert-Co. Enterprises",
however there is currently no conclusive evidence to substantiate that claim..
