West, Bruce and Laing (also known by the acronym WBL) were a Scottish-American-Canadian blues rock power trio super-group formed in 1972 by Leslie West (guitar and vocals; formerly of Mountain), Jack Bruce (bass, harp, keyboards and vocals; ex-Cream), and Corky Laing (drums and vocals; ex-Mountain). The band released two studio albums, Why Dontcha (1972) and Whatever Turns You On (1973), during their active tenure. Their disbanding was officially announced in early 1974 prior to the release of their third and last album, Live 'n' Kickin'.Mostly leveraging material from Cream's and Mountain's back catalogs, West, Bruce & Laing began touring almost immediately after Mountain's disbanding, completing a 30-date North American tour even before their record deal with CBS was finalized. The band remained a hot live commodity throughout 1972; notably, a November 1972 WBL show at New York City's Radio City Music Hall sold out 6, 000 seats within four hoursWest, Bruce & Laing performed at Circus Krone in Munich on April 13, 1973. This performance was part of their tour supporting their album "Whatever Turns You On". The setlist included songs like "Don't Look Around, " "Sunshine of Your Love, " and "Mississippi Queen". The Whatever Turns You On sessions would be the last time West, Bruce & Laing would work together. However, news of the band's breakup would be publicly withheld until early 1974, with the band's posthumous live album Live 'n' Kickin' released shortly thereafter. In 2009 West and Laing teamed up with Jack Bruce's son, Malcolm Bruce, and toured as West, Bruce Jr. And Laing. This group was advertised by some venues as a reformation of West, Bruce & Laing, with Malcolm described as "filling in" for his father on the tour.

Almost three hundred years ago, the legendary opera librettist Pietro Metastasio was inspired to write dramatic verse on the Olympic Games, the mother of all festivals. It's perfection was renowned, and more than 70 composers set it to music. One of the first of these was Antonio Vivaldi, whose Olimpiade was a great success at it's premiere on 17 February 1734 in Venice. Once again, the audience was witness to a brilliant comedy of errors, which was not only based on the ever-popular role reversal, but also brings into play the power of the oracle and the "sportsman's" competition for the hand of a beautiful woman. A happy ending is guaranteed, as was the case at the Innsbruck Festival 2023, thanks to the original production and, above all, the infectious music of the Prete Rosso Vivaldi. Vinyl LP pressing. 2012 sophomore album from the singer, songwriter and international superstar. The album includes production from Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, Emile Haynie, Diplo and Supa Dups, as well as the Smeezingtons, Mars' three-man songwriting and production team. He notes that the album is more musically varied and refuses to "pick a lane". "Locked Out of Heaven" was released as the lead single from the album. It has been described as having strong influences of New Wave, with striking resemblances to "Message in a Bottle" and "Roxanne" by the Police, the Romantics' "Talking in Your Sleep", and even Michael Jackson's "Beat It", while some have mildly referenced it to the Outfield's "Your Love".Track List

The Bryan Ferry Orchestra - "Bitter-Sweet" Drawing inspiration from the shadowy cabarets and smoky jazz halls of late-1920s Weimar Berlin, Bitter-Sweet sees Bryan Ferry and His Orchestra reimagining his solo and Roxy Music catalogue with a sophisticated jazz sensibility. The album features elegant horn and woodwind arrangements, muted trumpet, clarinet flourishes, and a mood of urbane melancholy, transforming classics like "Alphaville," "Reason or Rhyme," and "While My Heart Is Still Beating." Ferry himself provides select vocals on eight tracks, while the remaining songs unfold as instrumental reinterpretations, arranged with the expertise of Colin Good and performed by a full ensemble of seasoned jazz musicians. The album's concept grew from Ferry's work as music consultant on the acclaimed German TV series Babylon Berlin, where several tracks were originally featured, blending cinematic drama with jazz authenticity. Available on CD packaged in Japanese-style oversized sleeve.

The Bryan Ferry Orchestra -"The Jazz Age" / Step into a world where classic art-pop meets the roaring 1920s. The Jazz Age reimagines Bryan Ferry's Roxy Music and solo catalog as elegant jazz instrumentals, presented by the Bryan Ferry Orchestra. From "Virginia Plain" and "Do the Strand" to "Love Is the Drug" and "Avalon," each track is transformed through authentic 1920s-style arrangements featuring banjo, clarinet, muted trumpet, baritone sax, and double bass, crafted by renowned arranger Colin Good. Top UK jazz players, including trumpeter Enrico Tomasso and saxophonist Alan Barnes, bring these timeless melodies to life, while mono-style production evokes the charm of vintage 78 RPM recordings. Ferry himself steps back from vocals to serve as conductor and producer, curating this inventive project born from his love of jazz and curiosity about how his songs would stand without singing. Available on CD in a Japanese-style oversized sleeve.
