  • the album cover for Brook & The Bluff - Werewolf

Alliance Entertainment Brook & The Bluff - Werewolf (LP) (New (N))

The Brook & the Bluff get back to their rock & roll roots with Werewolf. Heavily inspired by the band's live show, it's a transformative album that finds the road warriors turning up their amplifiers, speeding up their tempos, and howling at the moon in four-part harmony. The result is both energizing and electrifying - a record fueled by the sharp songwriting and stacked vocal arrangements that have already earned the band more than 200 million streams, but shot through with the supercharged sonics of their concerts, too. After years of heavy touring, The Brook & the Bluff took a break from the road and wrote Werewolf at home in Nashville. Outside of their rehearsal space, regular life continued to unfold. One band member prepared for his wedding. Another made his way through a divorce. For several hours every weekday day, though, the four friends shut out the world and focused on nothing but music, channeling the southern-fried sounds of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tom Petty, Eagles, Little Feat, and other classic rock staples into new songs full of melody, muscle, and self-introspection. Recorded during a series of live-in-the-studio performances, Werewolf is the sound of a reinvigorated rock & roll band fueled by rediscovery, amplification, and a decade's worth of brotherhood. • Last stock! the album cover for Brooke Blair / Will Blair - Toxic Avenger - O.S.T.

Alliance Entertainment Brooke Blair / Will Blair - Toxic Avenger - O.S.T. (LP) (New (N))

    3 in stock

Vinyl LP pressing. Mutant, in partnership with Lakeshore Records and Legendary Entertainment, is proud to present The Toxic Avenger - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring a wildly eclectic score and original songs by composers Brooke and Will Blair. In this unhinged reimagining of Lloyd Kaufman's cult classic, the brothers capture the chaos, the silliness, and the triumphant heart of the original Troma trilogy. The guitar-drenched orchestral score careens from surfy crime-jazz and occult rock to Bossa Nova, classic superhero motifs, and an unhinged take on Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" (featured in the original Toxic Avenger) - complete with burps, farts, and the Prague Philharmonic. The pair also deliver original songs, including the nu-rap/slop-rock hit "(We Are) Crazy and Dangerous" from on-screen goth villains The Killer Nutz, their B-side "My Baby is an Axe," and the classic Doo Wop ode to young lovers "The Good Things" by fictional '50s group The Whoopsie Dews. Over 120 musicians in eight countries contributed to the soundtrack, including Medirecon. A generator recorded this 16-piece Kyiv-based string ensemble after Russian forces cut power to the city's power grid during the early days of the occupation. The year-long composing effort resulted in a soundtrack that's as fun, messy, and moving as the Troma films that inspired it. "The original Toxie soundtrack was such a bonkers mash-up of styles," says Will Blair. "Dancey-pop songs would be followed by punk rock, then go immediately into big orchestral pieces, followed by weird electro score - and it not only worked, it became part of the Troma experience. We trusted it would work with Macon's version of Toxie, and we're grateful he cut us loose to throw everything we had at it." Written and directed by the Blairs' older brother, Macon Blair, and starring Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon, The Toxic Avenger follows janitor Winston Gooze, who - after a freak toxic accident - mutates into an unlikely hero battling corporate overlords and corruption to save his son and his community. The album also comes complete with liner notes by writer/director Macon Blair as well as composers Brooke Blair and Will Blair, and is pressed on 140gm toxic black and green vinyl with glow-in-the-dark splatter and housed inside a silver mirrorboard jacket with glow-in-the-dark elements. Double vinyl LP pressing. 2024 release. After introducing a fresh concept with 2019's Reboot, they've now pulled out all the stops. Reboot II is here, and it's like nothing else. Not just a tribute - an experiment. The project is "No Rules," and it's not an exaggeration. Featuring 18 Brooks & Dunn classics recreated from a blank slate, maximum creative freedom was given to a select group of today's most engaging artists - not just from country, but from outside the genre as well. Each was given a near-impossible task by Brooks & Dunn themselves: Take an iconic hit and reimagine the song to fit their own taste and style. What came out is not a traditional tribute album - in fact it's the exact opposite, a clear refusal to put these songs under glass in the museum of country history. Instead, it shows just how alive Brooks & Dunn's influence is across today's musical scene... and how versatile their songwriting really was.Track List Play Something Country Neon Moon Rock My World (Little Country Girl) Ain't Nothing 'Bout You Brand New Man Believe She Used to Be Mine She Likes to Get Out of Town Boot Scootin' Boogie That Ain't No Way to Go How Long Gone I'll Never Forgive My Heart She's Not the Cheatin' Kind Hard Workin' Man Hillbilly Deluxe Indian Summer Drop in the Bucket Only in America

    Out of stock

UK Techno and House lynchpin Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave's Rekids with the 'Touch' EP. Active since the late '80s and widely regarded as one of UK dance music's most enduring figures, Broom's catalogue spans key imprints including Warp Records, M-Plant, Hardgroove, and his own Pure Plastic and Beardman, alongside collaborations with the likes of Riva Starr, Baby Ford, and James Ruskin. Since first appearing on Rekids in 2019, he's gone on to deliver 13 further releases, including his five-part 'Mutated Battle Breaks' EP series on sister label RSPX.Following 2024's 'Showtime' EP, his last House-leaning outing for Rekids, Mark Broom now drops the 'Touch' EP. The title track leads the charge, pairing a nostalgic vocal with a Disco-House hybrid feel and jackin' edge, setting the tone for 'Eyes', where he works the filters to build suspense as a loopy sample drives those feel-good dancefloor moments. The B-side shifts into Techno territory with 'MXM', a robust, driving groove marked by a machine-like swirl that steadily pushes the pressure, before closer 'Don't' rounds things out with a hard-hitting drumline and tough, strobe-lit stab work. Out of stock

Just as you were getting your head straight coming off the 21st Trip... Brown Acid dose # 22 drops, continuing to fry your mind in a revolving trap-door Twilight Zone alternate world of early hard rock... populated by real life characters so far out they can look like a cheesy wedding band but sound like Blue Cheer! Uncanny! This music comes at you from many angles. Teens in a garage colliding with booze, drugs and girls for the first time, lounge lizard hustlers with snazzy stage clothes and fuzz boxes... gnarly backwoods troublemakers meet blow dried glam rock wannabes here, seamlessly clobbering your head with sound rather than each other! An electric post-psychedelic bar brawl for your mind awaits, unfasten your seat belt, crank it up and fly! Sounds Synonymous "Babylon" out of Flint, Michigan 1969 rip the devastating Blue Cheer classic a new one, immediately swarming you with organ swells and distortion before collapsing into a tuff funk groove, a psychedelic James Brown vibe shot through with dirty howling fuzz guitar, vocals nailing the messed up but confident relaxed sneering attitude of the original Cheer eruption. The Bumps "Shining" from Seattle 1969 resides right at the transition of '60s psych into early prog, well constructed, no diluting things artsy fartsy style, a compelling heavy riff, spacious vocal harmony hook floating above a turbulent take on getting your shit together and shining like a star. Fat chance, but you can dream, the band did and their dreams kick ass across time to right now or you wouldn't be here. Coulda been a hit back then, definitely a hit now. Riverside "Farmer" explodes out of Austin, Texas 1974, economical but brilliantly structured riffs and power chords, intense dynamic tension/release, fantastic screaming leads over shifting angles of attack during the middle break... it's all here with a detached confidence in the vocal that swaggers back in time to the late '60s in it's proto-heavy psych adjacent assault. Cincinnati Joe & Mad Lydia "Get It Together" for real in Cincinnati, Ohio 1970. The song says everything you need to know: "You may think that you're the very best, miles and miles ahead of the rest, but be sure when you're put to the test you get it together!" These words are deployed in a manner similar to Peter Green's "Oh Well", intermittently stated between killer gnarly guitar and gushy organ attacks. Bar band heaven and hell rolled up into one big ball, the vocals get all the way out there! Straight Up "Fire" takes the monster 1968 Crazy World Of Arthur Brown hit into faithfully executed but surreally minimalist territory, Minneapolis, Minnesota 1974. Genius version of a key song that presciently cuts to the chase regarding Brown Acid's incinerations of psychedelic idealism, you're gonna burn, burn, burn... as that moment climaxes you can gawk at their preposterous flashy lounge band stage outfits and realize side one must end because everything is totally scorched into eternity. Scrap Iron "Poopsie" is a primitive two chord stomper with spiraling fuzz and organ riffs, singer marking his territory caveman style. "Poopsie, you're my woman" he commands, but gets weirdly insecure she'll blow him off at the altar by the end of each verse. Snarly wah-wah ices this toxic cake out of Carteret, New Jersey 1973. Focused delivery so single-mindedly crude it creates an inescapable instant brain-worm. Lady "Live Show Tigers" is amongst the most potently life affirming trash rockers you'll ever hear, one outrageously triumphant but fiercely sloppy anthem about living it up like a star, strutting the stage glammed up New York Dolls drag style but with a Dictators sense of humor. Tasty slightly off kilter guitar leads all through, going serendipitously berserk on the fade. Picture disc single out of L.A. 1980. Fantastic fun rock star rock at a very raw local street level where any time is party time. Killer Frog "Hard Times" on Masochist Records from Chicago, Illinois 1972 takes less than two minutes, an action packed James Gang style bar band rocker with a bit of punky sneer in the face of misfortune. These guys never even heard of flower power. They are killer frogs. Good Humore "Killer" does kill in stripped down hard rock trio style, Warren, Michigan 1976. No frills guitar, bass and drums groove tight, snaky primordial riff, snarly licks. "She's a killer of a woman, knows just what she's doing..." The singer knows she's a femme-fatale roadhouse predator but she's so hot the inevitable wreckage seems a bargain. Ride it out like the extended jam on the fade knowing she'll be back for more! Sarawest "Space Rider" winds up the 22nd Trip lost in a twisted two chord space adventure from the point of view of an alien visiting our planet seeking knowledge but finding out we are stupidly destroying ourselves, so he gotta split sneering back at us like we wasted his time "I got no time for loving... I wanna be a space rider, space rider". Toronto, Canada 1974, a vibe lurking in some strange but funny void between late '60s outsider garage psychedelic rock complete with reverb-y acid guitar leads and late '70s retro-futuristic D.I.Y wisecracking from inner space... taking the piss out of outer space! "She's a killer of a woman, knows just what she's doing..." Brown Spirits are a super-heavy psychedelic three-piece band who play raw energetic super-charged psych rock heavily influenced by krautrock, free-jazz and deep funk music from the 1970s that gives them a truly unique and highly-addictive sound. The group record and mix their own music to ¼-inch analogue tape at home maintaining a strictly DIY-ethic. // Brown Spirits are Tim Wold, Agostino Soldati and Ash Bushcombe. The group are from the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, home to an ever-growing music scene that includes Amyl and the Sniffers, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Surprise Chef, Tropical Fuck Storm and more. // The group have already released two superb critically-acclaimed album on Soul Jazz Records - 'Cosmic Seeds' and Solitary Transmissions'. // Soul Jazz Records are releasing three new albums from the Australian group on one day. These three albums were originally released between 2017-2020 in long-deleted, very short-run editions - either self-released in Australia or on an indie German psych label. // REVIEWS: "Heady brew of krautrock, psych, funk and avant-jazz" UNCUT // "You can make a compelling case that over the past 10 years or so Melbourne has been the most fertile city in the world for new music. Brown Spirits have charted their own distinct path from Melbourne to the outer limits of the Krautrock-psych-deep funk." In this recording, Brú explores repertoire from the folk dance and song heritage of Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Traditional tunes are blended with musical elements as diverse as baroque, contemporary, and a pinch of heavy metal. Tales about magical beings, spells, hope, and deceit unfold against the alluring backdrop of Nordic nature. The contrast between life and death, love and despair, is sometimes resolved tragically, but at other times with a more humorous, down-to-earth outlook.
