Hello, and thank you for buying this record! As rock musicians from Nova Scotia, we stand on the shoulders of many local giants. The 1990's in Halifax spawned so many great bands like Sloan, Thrush Hermit, Jale, Plumtree, and The Super Friendz (to name just a few), who carved a path for kids like us (at the time) to aspire to. This is our little way of saying thank you to those who came before us and gave us stars to shoot for! - The Boojums

For the pianist and opera conductor Boris Bloch, who hails from Odessa in present-day Ukraine, the works of Frederic Chopin represent the epitome of poetry in music. Chopin's primary means of expression-the language with which he expressed everything he wanted to say-was his melody: the most beautiful kind known to man. For Chopin, however, this melody was more than that; it was a reflection of reality, behind which lay a real image or event. Heinrich Neuhaus pointed out the autobiographical character of Chopin's oeuvre. And it is precisely this autobiographical character that has helped countless people find themselves in their own biographies. This explains the immense popularity and universal appeal of his works, which are cherished all over the world. On this double CD, Boris Bloch presents a selection of Mazurkas, etudes, Impromptus, the four Ballades, and the second Piano Sonata, Op. 35. There's a tendency in metal to mistake aggression for honesty, volume for depth. To confuse the performance of darkness with it's actual weight. Hidden Fires Burn Hottest, the new album from San Francisco-based post-black metal band Bosse-de-Nage, sidesteps this entirely. It's the group's most fully realized work yet, precisely because it refuses to be pinned down.Bosse-de-Nage have been working with The Flenser for over fifteen years. They were one of the first bands the label ever partnered with and have the longest active relationship in the label's history. But unlike most bands who build momentum through constant touring and visibility, Bosse-de-Nage has largely existed apart from the music world's usual machinery. They've evolved on their own terms, in relative isolation, allowing the work to develop without outside pressure or influence. What began rooted in black metal anonymity has mutated into something that actively defies categorization. The aggression is still there, but it's no longer the point.Hidden Fires Burn Hottest finds the band treating emotions like physical objects, feelings with spatial properties. "No Such Place" describes a space that can't exist but does anyway, somewhere between thought and location. "Immortality Project" examines infinite possibility not as promise but as problem, endless options collapsing under their own weight. These songs don't use metaphor to describe emotion. They make emotion into something you could theoretically touch.Tracked by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Oathbreaker) at Atomic Garden East and mixed and mastered by Richard Chowenhill of Agriculture, Hidden Fires Burn Hottest was years in development, with some tracks beginning in 2018. The long writing process offered time that most records don't get. Time to live with ideas, revise endlessly, to let structures settle. For the first time, lyricist Bryan Manning wrote everything in advance, creating a surplus to pull from rather than working under deadline pressure. The difference shows.Coming off Further Still, an album built on constraint and economy, Bosse-de-Nage sought the opposite: sprawl, strangeness, fewer rules. Space for ideas to develop without rushing them. Dynamics that move through quiet as much as noise. Presence earned through atmosphere instead of volume. The record even includes "Mementos," which might be considered the first love song the band has ever written.Nothing here coheres into a theme. These are pieces pulled from low moments and private feelings made public through sound. The band has never been interested in positivity, in music that resolves cleanly or offers comfort. But bleakness doesn't mean humorlessness. There's something darkly funny running through much of it, even when it shouldn't be.Hidden Fires Burn Hottest doesn't explain itself. It just insists: what you feel is as real as what you can see.

Limited 40th Anniversary 150 gram picture disc vinyl LP pressing of Boston's seminal eponymous 1976 debut album. Produced by Tom Scholz and John Boylan, the album was released on August 25, 1976, in the United States by Epic Records. Epic wanted the band to record in Los Angeles with a record producer, but Scholz was unwilling and wanted to record the album in his basement studio, so he hired Boylan to run interference with the label. In an elaborate ruse, Scholz tricked the label into thinking the band was recording on the West Coast, when in reality, the bulk was being tracked solely by Scholz at his Massachusetts home. The album sold extremely well, breaking sales records and becoming one of the best-selling debut albums of all time. Boston's style was appropriated by label executives and imitated by bands to create radio-friendly "corporate rock", the creation of which the band was also accused. The album's singles, most notably "More Than a Feeling" and "Long Time", were both AM and FM hits, and nearly the entire album receives constant rotation on classic rock radio.Track List

The 3rd full length album from the UK's heaviest band. This is an accolade not thrown around lightly. Bound in Fear have been crafting their sound over the years, honing it into an undisputed heavyweight bomber. 'A MIND TOO SICK TO HEAL is a hellish journey into the darkest side of the human mind, Smashing out of the gates with 'SENTENCED' & 'CHASM', the first stand alone singles to be lifted from the forthcoming album, BIF roar a statement of intent that ups the heat ever so slightly from their usual downtempo delivery, before returning to the familiar crushing slabs of concrete the band are revered for. 'THREE KNEE DEEP' & 'DARKNESS REDEFINED' follow as the spotlight cuts for what is unquestionable one of the heaviest albums to ever emerge out of the United Kingdom. David Bowie - Glass Spider (Live Montreal '87) [2018 Remaster] The tour's innovative set and marriage of music and theatre has been cited as a big inspiration to acts in the 2000s. Speaking in 1991 about 'Glass Spider' Bowie said, 'It was the first time I'd had the opportunity to spend that kind of money and do shows like that! The first time since Diamond Dogs, anyway.I thought, right! Let's really spend some money! I had all these thwarted dreams of what I'd tried to do with rock 'n roll in the early '70s'.

Ninth studio album by the acclaimed British musician. Originally released in 1975, The album marked a departure from the glam rock style of Bowie's previous albums, showcasing his interest in soul and R&B music. Initial recording sessions took place in Philadelphia with producer Tony Visconti and a variety of musicians, including guitarist Carlos Alomar, who would become one of Bowie's most frequent collaborators, and singer Luther Vandross. Bowie drew influence from the sound of 'local dance halls', which were blaring with the 'lush strings, sliding hi-hat whispers, and swanky R&B rhythms of Philadelphia Soul'.

Vinyl LP pressing to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the band's first and only side project album. Essentially seen as a side project from Blink 182 members Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker with David Kennedy (guitarist of Angels & Airwaves) completing the band's studio lineup. The record was the only studio effort the band produced together. They recorded the eponymous debut, Box Car Racer, in quick fashion with a more DIY spirit. MCA Records issued the band's lone release in May 2002, which peaked on the Billboard 200 at # 12. Singles "I Feel So" and "There Is" also charted on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, with the former shooting to #8. Box Car Racer created unresolved tension within Blink-182 and inevitably influenced the band's following studio album, the more experimental Blink-182 (2003). DeLonge ended the project in mid-2003, considering it to have served it's purpose; however, DeLonge's later band, Angels & Airwaves (which also featured Kennedy) has been described by DeLonge as a continuation of Box Car Racer.Track List

Boy with Apple, the Swedish shoegaze / noise-pop quartet from Gothenburg, returns with their long awaited sophomore album, Navigation.Having teased the world since the summer of 2025 with rumors of a follow-up to their praised debut album Attachment, Boy with Apple premiered the album's first single Feeble at Roskilde Festival in front of 3000 people. Working from the debut's dreamful noise and melody and with a new guitarist, Navigation finds the band incorporating their shared love of dance music into the soundscape. Tracks such as Come Down and Simplicity bring the acid house experiments of Pale Saints to mind. Toxic Glue, a track utilizing one of the band's earliest vocal demos, could've been made by Pygmalion-era Slowdive. It's dreamy, noisey and rhythmic.Boy with Apple proves with Navigation that they are in a league completely of their own, with their only competition being themselves.
