Light and airy, filmic but intimate, carefully arranged but deceptively powerful, SUCK IT AND SEE is Arctic Monkeys fourth album. Recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles with long-time producer/ collaborator James Ford, it has a summery pop feel: With the bulk of work completed on the West Coast during January, it's got the feel-good sound of stealing some winter sun, some out of season Vitamin D. with SUCK IT AND SEE the band perfectly mesh their hard and soft sides. The album is lyrically their most verbose since their record-breaking debut WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM, THAT'S WHAT I'M NOT. SUCK IT AND SEE is not just the sound of a band working in perfect, energetic sync, it's one of the years best albums.Track List

After releasing their early EPs, My Angel (1991) and Constellation (1994), Norwegian avant-garde metal pioneers Arcturus unveiled their debut full-length album, Aspera Hiems Symfonia, in 1996. The band, named after the brightest star in the Northern Hemisphere, emerged from Norway's explosive black metal scene but quickly set themselves apart with their bold, experimental vision. The lineup for Aspera Hiems Symfonia featured prominent figures from the Norwegian extreme metal underground, including Garm (vocals, also of Ulver), Hellhammer (drums, known from Mayhem), and new additions Carl August Tidemann (guitar) and Hugh "Skoll" Mingay (bass, also of Ulver), replacing Samoth from the earlier EPs. This talented ensemble blended the raw intensity of black metal with progressive and avant-garde elements, creating a sound that was both haunting and innovative.Aspera Hiems Symfonia stands out for it's daring departure from traditional black metal. Piercing vocal shrieks coexist with eerie, operatic melodies, while Sverd's cinematic keyboards weave atmospheric tapestries. Tidemann's technical guitar solos add a layer of sophistication, and the rhythm section, driven by Hellhammer's relentless precision and Skoll's dynamic basslines, provides a solid yet adventurous foundation. This fusion of aggressive roots with progressive experimentation-marked by unconventional song structures and a theatrical flair-established Arcturus as trailblazers in the Oslo metal scene and beyond, cementing their legacy as progressive innovators.

Notes:
This album was recorded in 2009 at Soundscape Studios in Pittsburgh, PA with Sound Engineer Dave Watson.
This album is a culmination of all the material we had worked on since we formed with the lineup that created the sound people have come to know as Argus.
Mike Wisniewski played guitar on this album, the only lineup change since his leaving was bringing Erik [Johnson back into the band on guitar as his replacement.
This album was originally going to be released on a different record label but ended up coming out on Shadow Kingdom after issues with the other one.
"Damnation of John Faustus Intro" composed and performed by John Gallo.
Lyrics for "The Damnation of John Faustus" based upon "Doctor Faustus" by Christopher Marlowe.
"The Outsider" lyrics based upon the H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name.

This relatively new Stockholm duo have been making waves with their latest vinyl output. This EP conveys their love for the disco house sounds of Chicago, spearheaded by the likes of DJ Sneak. 'Spoon Bait' leads the way using an almost dreamlike vocal hook over a deep bass led groove with dub effects to boot. 'Tuborg Translate' picks up the tempo, chopping up a Philly style hook, underpinned by crisp beats and otherworldly space effects. Title track 'Silja Line Superstar' keeps the peak-time action going utilizing warm emotive strings and brass whilst 'Kenneth Knaster' bounces along on a sublime disco ride bringing the EP to a close.Tracklisting:A1.
