Paying homage to Leipzig and the Gewandhausorchester, the city and ensemble at the core of Felix Mendelssohn's artistic identity, Andris Nelsons presents a compilation of the composer's Oratorios and Symphonies. Deutsche Grammophon proudly notes that this release marks the first full-length rendition of "Paulus," a remarkably formative score that had so far been absent from the Yellow Label's expansive catalog. Nelsons is joined by a stellar cast of soloists for the vocal works, and bolstered by the incredible musicians of the Gewandhausorchester, for whom he serves as Music Director, for fresh interpretations of the Symphonies. 7-CD box set in Capbox packaging. Andy Shauf’s songs unfold like short fiction: they’re densely layered with colorful characters and a rich emotional depth. On his new studio album Norm, Andy Shauf’s songwriting veers decidedly more oblique, hinting at sinister happenings and dark motivations. The result: an intoxicating collection of mellifluous melodies and beguiling lyrics. Levitating, synth-laden atmospherics drive Shauf’s storytelling on ‘Norm,’ mixed by Neal Pogue (Tyler, the Creator).
In 2016, The Party catapulted Andy Shauf to indie notoriety, followed by 2020’s The Neon Skyline which landed Andy Shauf performances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and CBS This Morning: Saturday, a Polaris Prize nomination, and mentions on several best-of lists — among them, a track on Barack Obama’s playlist and praise from Pitch- fork, The Atlantic, Esquire, Stereogum, and more.

Vinyl LP pressing includes digital download. Andy Shauf - He's a sad-sack Saskatchewanian songwriter who grew up in a tiny town (pop. 919) off the Trans-Canada Highway somewhere between Swift Current and Moose Jaw. His breakthrough album was called Bearer of Bad News. But don't feel bad for Andy Shauf. Social invitations have been pouring in from Jeff Tweedy, Nick Hornby and Low (for whom he opened two U.S. tours in 2015). The Party is a series of character sketches, ostensibly set at a specific gathering. It's not exactly a concept record or a John Hughes script for a Robert Altman film, but writing it was definitely a way for Shauf to get out of his own head. The Party will spawn no hangover regrets for it's creator, even if it's characters have more than a few. On it, awkward characters show up "Early to the Party," dance in the living room ("Martha Sways"), and either reveal life-changing secrets ("To You") or try their hardest to reveal nothing at all ("The Magician"). Fuzzed-out guitars collide with string sections and dreamy synths, all draped over delicate piano, acoustic guitars and rainy-day drums. Oh, and clarinet. On Bearer of Bad News, Shauf started out with 100 songs and whittled it down to 11. This time, with a clearer vision and narrative construct in mind, he focused on 15 and cut it to 10. Brevity is key: these vignettes are rooted in classic pop songwriting, with shades of the Shins, Belle and Sebastian and Grandaddy seeping into Shauf's modern arrangements.Track List

Saxophonist, producer, and composer Brian Allen Simon channels darker, dreamlike states under his Anenon alias on Dream Temperature, a deeply evocative album that brings electronic processing to the foreground through digitized winds and uncanny atmospherics reminiscent of his mid-to-late 2010s work. A Los Angeles native and longtime resident, Simon follows the revered Petrol (2016), Tongue (2018), and the entirely acoustic Moons Melt Milk Light (2023) with a new focus on wind synthesizer, acoustic piano, and tenor saxophone, with electronics literally driven by his breath and shaped via laptop processing, added textures, and field recordings. Across it's 31 minutes, the record moves between urban grit and pastoral drift, capturing the lingering weight of half-remembered dreams; solo and part-solo piano interludes ('Last Sun 1' and '2') cut through the haze with a tender melancholy, while pieces like 'Nulle Part 1+2' pit saxophone flourishes against noisy drones and digital detritus. Recorded at home at dusk and night between September 2024 and October 2025, Dream Temperature expands Simon's sonic universe-from the compact title track's sub-bass and digital sax rasps to the grittier 'When The Light Appears, Boy' and the enveloping ambience of 'Toyama'-with personal location recordings from Sardinia, Japan, Big Sur, and LA surfacing unexpectedly, resulting in a haunting, elegant coalescence of his electronic and acoustic practices.

There's no other band like Angel Du$t. In fact, the singular group is almostdefined by how far they stand apart from the pack. So if saying Angel Du$taren't like anyone else is a no-brainer, then what are they like? Are theycutting edge genre-destroyers or one of the last authentic guitar bandsstanding? Are they blunt force aggression incarnate or earnest experimen-talists? Are they the hardcore version of an indie band or is it the other wayaround? You might ask yourself these kinds of questions while taking inthe totality of Angel Dust's decade-plus journey-but the band's new album,COLD 2 THE TOUCH, suggests that maybe it's not so complicated afterall. Or as vocalist/mastermind Justice Tripp puts it: "Angel Du$t is rock &roll."COLD 2 THE TOUCH captures this simple fact better than ever before. The 26-minute blast of eclectic and hardhitting music makes it clear thatAngel Du$t can't be contained within the confines of narrow subgenres, and that a term as elemental as rock & roll might actually fit like a glove. This is the band's most overtly ferocious album in some time-a blender ofhard riffs and big hooks that are matched by Tripp's open-hearted existen-tialism.A constellation of collaborators makes COLD 2 THE TOUCH a captivatinglisten that's constantly surprising the listener: guitarist Jim Caroll makes hispresence especially felt on "Zero," a veritable Angel Du$t epic that clocksin at over three minutes of spiraling riffs and features vocals from WesEisold of American Nightmare and Cold Cave; "Downfall" has the growl ofRestraining Order's Patrick Cozens; "Man On Fire" taps UK punk legendFrank Carter; and "The Beat" includes guttural guest vitriol from TaylorYoung of Twitching Tongues, Deadbody, and more. The album's final one-two punch of "The Knife" and "The Beat" sum upexactly what makes Angel Du$t such a special band. This is a creativeendeavor where heart-on-sleeve musings about the finite nature of lifecan coexist with the unbridled thrill of violence-enducing riffs, where realhumanity can flourish and being true to yourself and your own spectrum ofthoughts, interests, and feelings takes primacy above all else. "This is whoI am," says Tripp. "and I speak for the band too: these are people who arealways going to be playing aggressive rock & roll. It's happening whetheryou like it or not. Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Original score to the original 1990 TV series composed by Angelo Badalamenti. Contains three vocal songs by Julee Cruise, including the hit theme "Falling". In fall 1989, composer Angelo Badalamenti and director David Lynch created the score for the show. In 20 minutes they produced the signature theme for the series. Badalamenti called it the "Love Theme from Twin Peaks". Lynch told him, "You just wrote 75% of the score. It's the mood of the whole piece. It is Twin Peaks." While creating the score, Lynch often described the moods or emotions he wanted the music to evoke, and Badalamenti began to play the piano. In the scenes dominated by young men, they are accompanied by music that Badalamenti called Cool Jazz. The characters' masculinity was enhanced by finger-snapping, "cocktail-lounge electric piano, pulsing bass, and lightly brushed percussion." A handful of the motifs were borrowed from the Julee Cruise album Floating into the Night, which was written in large part by Badalamenti and Lynch and was released in 1989.Track List

Out of print in the U.S.! Composer Angelo Badalamenti, who wrote the music for the television series for which this movie served as a "prequel," presents another low-key score mixing after-midnight jazz with ambient sounds, never taken at more than a medium tempo. The mood is dark and languid, appropriate to the unusual tone of the TV show and movie. Jimmy Scott and Julee Cruise contribute eerie vocals to songs with lyrics by director David Lynch.
