ADULT. Is not cooperating. For over 25 years, the dystopian Detroit synth-punk institution founded by Nicola Kuperus and Adam Lee Miller has embodied steadfast frustration, distrust, and apprehension. One might expect the edges to soften with time, but ADULT. Is not interested in the comforts of legacy. The duo's music has never sounded as visceral, urgent, and downright angry as it does on the culminating, uncompromising Kissing Luck Goodbye. Built with upgraded gear and a new library of sounds, the material is crushingly dynamic, louder-yet-clearer, with Kuperus' commanding delivery given greater prominence in the mix, outlining an arsenal of vivid, caustic calls, chants, and musings. Laughter, whether in the lyrics or as a possessed presence, serves as a leitmotif that speaks to the menacing absurdity of modern times. "THE CHAOS IS WHAT THEY WANT," she sings on "R U 4 $ALE", doubling as a declaration of intent: to meet a burning world of greed and disarray with defiant, masterfully assembled chaos. "You have two choices in this hellscape we're living in right now, which is either fight or be depressed," says Miller. "Either one is okay. But, you know, the choice was simple." ADULT. Is known for high-stakes catharsis on stage, and recently deployed their back catalog of bass guitar songs from the 2000s, retracing the prescient Anxiety Always-era partially out of necessity given the temperature of today's political and technological dread. The response was instant and palpable: "We were in Paris, and the kids were stage diving. And I was like, this is rad. This is kind of the energy I want to get back into," Kuperus says. The epiphany coincided with a series of setbacks - Kuperus' bouts with chronic vertigo, the loss of their close friend and collaborator Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb, whom the album is dedicated to - all made profoundly worse under the looming regime. "We're just like everything's breaking. We're breaking. We're broken." The sentiment didn't stick, however, as they found themselves ultimately too supercharged by fury to sit still. The vibe heading into Kissing Luck Goodbye was four middle fingers pointed straight up

Limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing of this album from the classic rock band. Released in 1987, Permanent Vacation marked a turning point in the band's career. Here the band worked alongside professional songwriters to craft an album chock full of hits that charted in the Top 20. This came at the suggestion of executive John Kalodner. He also pushed the band to work with producer Bruce Fairbairn, who remained with them for another two albums. It was also the first Aerosmith album to be promoted by heavy music video airplay on MTV. Though Done with Mirrors was intended to mark Aerosmith's comeback, Permanent Vacation is often considered their true comeback, as it was the band's first truly popular album since their reunion. Tracks like 'Rag Doll', 'Dude (Looks like a Lady)', and 'Angel' helped Permanent Vacation become the band's greatest success in a decade.Track List

Black Hole Superette, the latest album from Aesop Rock, delves into the invisible forces that shape our lives and psyches. It's about the small, often overlooked moments-the everyday experiences that blur the lines between the real and the unreal, waking and sleeping. Aesop Rock's signature gift for transforming the mundane into something dreamlike gives the album a surreal quality, leaving listeners questioning what's truly real as they navigate it's vivid, half-remembered imagery.Entirely self-produced, Black Hole Superette is one of Aesop Rock's most technically accomplished works to date. The album's intricate beats and complex structures provide the perfect backdrop for his expansive lyricism, balancing cerebral exploration with emotional depth. From the reflective 'Movie Night' and the eccentric 'Send Help' to the wistful 'Black Plums,' Aes channels the spirit of a mad scientist, experimenting with sound and concept in ways that defy the ordinary. With a stellar lineup of collaborators that includes Lupe Fiasco, Armand Hammer, Hanni El Khatib, Open Mike Eagle and Homeboy Sandman, Black Hole Superette is dense and kinetic, an album that deftly navigates between complexity and instinct. It's clear this project stands as one of Aesop Rock's most multifaceted and ambitious works yet.

For Aesop Rock, the phrase "I heard it's a mess there too" started out as a lyric, but it didn't take long for that line to get it's hooks into him. It felt familiar, like a line he'd said a thousand times in recent years while checking in with friends across different cities, swapping stories about where each other are, and what's going on there. The more he sat with the phrase, the more it started to feel like the center of something bigger. I Heard It's A Mess There Too lives at the intersection of two personal urges for Aesop: the need to venture out and document your surroundings, and the desire to stay connected-especially when things feel uncertain.Musically, Aesop Rock explores some new territory on the album. "I'd been building tracks the same way for many years," he says, "but I made a conscious shift in my process here. I tried out some new tools and attempted to make my beats cleaner, more minimal. The drums are more stripped back, the bass lines are allowed to just sit, without layering ten things on top. I didn't want the beat and the vocals competing for attention-I just wanted enough to get a wave rolling and not much more, just setting a mood I could move to." These twelve songs mark different stops along that path of tinkering and looking for something new.

Limited double green and pink neon colored vinyl LP pressing in custom die cut jacket. Includes double sided poster, illustrated inner sleeves. 2016 album from the Indie-rap mainstay, his first album in four years. On The Impossible Kid, Aesop continues finding new ways to improve on the skills that have made him one of the kings of indie hip-hop. His creative process now includes a newfound willingness to open up about his personal life, going deep on topics like depression, his sometimes rocky relationship with his family, and the turbulent handful of years that culminated in Aesop leaving his adopted home of San Francisco to live in a barn out in the woods, where he recorded the foundations of The Impossible Kid. There's also moments of levity though, as Aesop taps into the funny side of his persona that he suppressed during the period where being taken as a serious lyricist was more of a priority. Like Skelethon, Aesop exercised complete creative control over every aspect of the album, from the production (which he handled himself, with instrumental help from Philly's Grimace Federation) to conceptualizing the cover art by his friend Alex Pardee.Track List

AFI / DECEMBERUNDERGROUNDOn their 2003 major label debut Sing the Sorrow, AFI made a seismic sonic shift, largely eschewing its punk and hardcore past for bombastic pop. For their platinum-selling follow-up Decemberunderground, they reunited with Jerry Finn, the famed producer who helped define pop-punk in the 1990s and 2000s, for what Entertainment Weekly called their "most melodically acute distillation" of "eerie, metal-edged Cure sound."The album debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 and features fan favorites "Love Like Winter," "Kill Caustic," and "Summer Shudder." Dense arrangements, arena-rock-ready songs and the critically acclaimed ("Miss Murder") have made this a perennial favorite. "Slicker, sleeker and more immaculately angst-ridden than its predecessor," Alternative Press wrote, "their conviction, perseverance and hardcore roots bring a whole other level of intensity to . songs about hormonal alienation and heartache."

For more than three decades, AFI has been in a nearly constant state of reinvention. The band have made it a point to evolve with every album-sometimes dramatically so-never allowing themselves to become too comfortable in one genre or rest on any of their impressive career laurels. It's an approach that has grown their audience but also challenged it with a sonic identity that can shift in wild, unexpected directions. Now with their twelfth album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun..., AFI are once again at the start of a bold new chapter, only this time they've even managed to surprise themselves. How does a band that's known for creative upheaval still find ways to push themselves out of their comfort zones? Typically the group would start an album by immediately throwing themselves into writing and simply letting their intuitive musical shorthand guide the process, but for Silver Bleeds the Black Sun... AFI set out to purposely change their creative approach all together. This time it started with a conversation: how could they break new ground? The key to moving forward actually ended up coming from AFI's collective past. "We started with something that sounded like Echo & the Bunnymen," explains guitarist Jade Puget, who produced and engineered the album. "But eventually we ended up with this melange of death rock and post-punk-all this stuff from the late '70s and early '80s that we grew up on, like Sisters of Mercy, and Bauhaus, and Siouxsie and the Banshees." The goal became making an album with a singular mood, something dreamy and ethereal, and the band members found themselves diving headfirst into influences that had always been deeply embedded in AFI's musical core, but now were being brought to the forefront. Silver Bleeds the Black Sun... is dark and otherworldly, but also grandiose and stately, biting and beautiful in equal measure-in other words, it's very AFI, yet not quite like any version of the band you've ever heard before.

Sing The Sorrow is AFI's breakthrough sixth studio album, which reached the Top 5 on the Billboard 200 when it was originally released in 2003.
