Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Steve Cropper & The Midnight Hour - Watching The Tide (LP) (New (N))
To anyone who knows the roots and branches of American music, the passing of Steve Cropper in December 2025 was seismic. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Alicia Blue - Country Desire (LP) (New (N))
Hailing between the South Borderlands of Texas and the orange groves of Southern California, Nashville-based Alicia Blue writes country songs rooted in desire, consequence, and control. The daughter of a truck driver and a bank teller, her voice carries a blue-collar directness shaped as much by mariachi and rancheras as by classic country. She doesn’t look away from her past—she instead draws from it, pulls back the bow, and aims straight through. What she hits feels inevitable. The landing place lives somewhere between the outlaw gravity of Waylon, the high-lonesome clarity of Dolly, the ache of Emmylou, and the poetic nerve of Lucinda Williams and Bob Dylan—but it never feels borrowed. It feels claimed—hard and undeniable. Alicia Blue arrives with a debut that already sounds lived-in, hard-won, and mythic. Country Desire isn’t an introduction so much as a statement of existence—a blue-collar epic lit by something restless and cosmic. From “Draggin’ a Broken Heart” to “Waitress Blues” to “Mama I’m Writing,” she stands not above the listener but beside them—down in the dirt, eyes on the sky—finding language for the kind of longing most people spend their lives trying to outrun. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Henry Franklin - Skipper - Remastered - Blue With Black Swirl (Blk) (LP) (New (N))
Though it's hard to pick a winner among the estimable Black Jazz catalog, this 1972 release from bassist Henry "The Skipper" Franklin would have to be near the top of the list. Franklin got his start woodshedding with Latin maverick Willie Bobo in the mid-'60s and went on to play with The Three Sounds, but probably his most notable gig prior to this debut album was his stint in Hugh Masekela's band (that's Franklin playing bass with Masekela at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival). For The Skipper, Franklin assembled a crack outfit that included a horn section of trumpeter/flugelhornist Oscar Brashear (Bobby Hutcherson, Ry Cooder, Donny Hathaway) and tenor & soprano sax man Charles Owens (Buddy Rich, Horace Tapscott, John Mayall) along with a Masekela bandmate in electric pianist Bill Henderson and ace drummer Michael Carvin (Pharoah Sanders, Lonnie Liston Smith, Freddie Hubbard). This is such a unique, organic recording that it's hard to make comparisons; definitely a little fusion, a little '60s Blue Note feel, and the usual Black Jazz journey to the more lyrical, pop-inspired ("Little Miss Laurie") and funk-infused ("Plastic Creek Stomp") sides of jazz, but perhaps the best comparison is late-'60s Miles before he went electric. Remastered for vinyl and featuring liner notes, this Real Gone release comes in a blue with black swirl pressing limited to just 500 copies! Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Felicia Atkinson - Sans Visage (CD) (New (N))
Director Georges Franju's horror classic 'Eyes Without A Face' from 1960 is a hauntingly beautiful film that since it's initial release - mired in controversy - has earned a rightful place in cinematic history. A black and white fairytale that deftly balances between fantasy and realism, clinical detachment and intense emotion, beauty and pain it is- once seen -impossible to forget. For the 2024 edition of the annual Videodroom film festival in Ghent, composer and visual artist Félicia Atkinson wrote and performed a brand new score for the film.Sans Visage brings her sparse piano and glacial electronics to the front, a lovingly constructed hommage to the film that underlines the still devastatingly current themes it so brazenly explored.LP includes a 12-page booklet with liner notes by writer and musician Claire Cronin on Eyes Without A Face and additional artwork by illustrator and experimental comic artist Momo Gordon. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Acid Arab - Resonance (Ofgv) (LP) (New (N))
With Resonance, Acid Arab delivers an electronic project conceived as a true translation between cultures, eras, and musical currents. The group brings together Eastern elements and electronic textures, giving them equal importance. Far from any folklore, irony, or exoticism, they craft a musical landscape freed from geography: a dance space where the celebration of diverse cultures honors a profoundly humanistic unity. An Acid Arab track seeks neither to impose itself nor to prove anything. It opens up a space of fusion, of both bodies and minds. With this fourth album, the group reaffirms it's core principles: collaborations with artists from the Arab world, meticulous attention to sound and production, here enriched by the unique contribution of an external producer, who brings in new expertise to the table.Guests :- Yasmine Hamdan, a leading figure in contemporary Arabic music, originally from southern Lebanon. After two collaborations centered on remixes, this marks their first joint creation. - Ghita Lahmamassi, a multifaceted Moroccan artist: singer, model, actress, influencer, and pilot. She embodies boundless creative energy.- Sofiane Saidi, one of the most powerful voices to emerge from Algeria, a loyal collaborator of the group who previously appeared on *La Hafla* (2016) and *Leila* (2022).- Ghizlane Melih, who was a guest on the previous album with "Habaytak," continues her journey with her own project, the group Nashwa.- Cheba Ibtissem, an Algerian singer known for her performances on stage, on YouTube, and at weddings, alongside major figures in the local music scene.- Wael Alkak reunites with Acid Arab four years after Ya Mahla with a new anthem that is politically charged, percussive, and electrifying. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Seefeel - Sol.Hz (LP) (New (N))
Seefeel return with their first full-length album in fifteen years - a beautiful, hazy and blissed out collection of fractured melodies and vaporous textures. In some ways, this can be regarded as Seefeel's 'dub' album - the deceptively cloud-like arrangements of Mark Clifford are somewhat ambient adjacent at low volume, but blasting out of a proper sound system, the cavernous bass undertow and skilful employment of effects are more apparent, messing with the listener's perception of time and audio placement. As always with Seefeel though, it never drifts too far into cold experimentalism or synthetic texture, the heavily manipulated vocals of Sarah Peacock lending the tracks a vital human element, with processed guitar loops allowing slivers of melody to drift through the trails of delay. The longtime perception of the band as sitting at the overlap point between electronic music and experimental guitar music meant that they were often overlooked during their original lifespan, not making music that was instantly recognisable to either scene. Over the years though, this blurring of genre lines increasingly looks prescient of where music was headed, steadily building a catalogue of music that hasn't aged in quite the same way as some of their contemporaries. Their influence has been cited by a new generation of artists such as Maria Somerville and Yu Su, and they return in 2026 with Sol. Hz, a collection of new tracks that further reinforce the idea that Seefeel's time has finally come. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Ebbb - Shallow Hits (CD) (New (N))
The scope, variety and ambition of Ebbb's debut album "Shallow Hits" is clear from the off. 'Come Alive' whirs to life quietly then morphs into a sun-kissed radiant piece of calypso-esque electronic pop. It is an album bursting with ideas, textures, rhythms, detail and emotion. A bold and singular debut record from a group who truly do not sound like anyone else right now.The Latin-flavoured 'Now You Know' feels destined to soundtrack sun-drenched festivals this summer; 'Shallow Hits' is as deft and detailed as it is big, bold and euphoric; while the wonky yet propulsive charge of 'Side On' sounds like a drum 'n' bass club and church choir combined. The band have already caught the ears of Thom Yorke / The Smile (who invited them to play a support slot). Recent live highlights have included sold out headlines at London institutions The Moth Club and The Windmill; a massive 18-date European tour with Shame and UK dates with FCUKERS, Mary In The Junkyard, The Voidz and Porridge Radio. EU festival highlights include Pitchfork Festival, Mutations, Reeperbahn, Truck, End of The Road, Latitude, Left of The Dial and more."A truly thrilling, game-changing force in UK indie" - NME"Ebbb seamlessly mix seemingly opposing styles into something that flows without friction" - Rolling Stone"Combining choral and orchestral roots with a love of grindcore, new wave, dream pop and techno" - The Quietus"Beautiful, boundary-less and bohemian" Wonderland Tracklist: Come Alive Home Ground Now You Know Pander Side On Shallow Hits Remedy You've Got Me Where You Want Me Moving On Youth I'm Not Enough UPC: 5054429210910Label: Ninja TuneRelease Date: 7.10.26Format: CD

Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Jane Remover - Frailty (LP, Colored, Reissue) (New (N))
Fruit Punch vinyl. "As long as she can remember, Jane Remover has practiced her own autonomy as much as possible. The nineteen year old songwriter is an omnivorous listener that produces everything herself. She has been lauded by fans and writers alike, for accidentally creating entire genres in the wake of her prolific two-year run. Her debut album Frailty was written amidst the purgatorial summer after a high school graduation, en route to turning eighteen that September. The lyrics are a wayward coming-of-age diary of an LGBT+ teenager, stuck in the suburbs of a confusing, socio-politically turbulent America. Jane's words sting, but are shrouded in meticulous production; a sui generis vein of DIY rock. Simultaneously, it's steeped in the lo-bit, nostalgic synths that soundtrack a final glimpse of younger memories. The LP was warmly received: Album of the Year List placements from Pitchfork and TheNeedleDrop, glowing reception from Paste, Insider and FADER, and a widespread resonance from a young audience who consider the album cathartic and relatable. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Baby Rose - Yearnalism (CD) (New (N))
With modern dating being reduced to app-swiping, toxic nonchalance andeven balloon-popping humiliation, we're losing recipes on how to properlyyearn for each other. But while most try to keep their guards up, Baby Rose isstaying devoted to what's real. Fresh off winning her first GRAMMY Award inthe Best R&B Album category for her part on Leon Thomas' MUTT, theunmistakable contralto returns with Yearnalism, her third studio albumsteeped in confidence, care and liberating love. The singer-songwriter-producer defines yearnalism as the process anddocumentation of desire in it's many forms: "Desiring freedom, desiring love, desiring what you can't have, desiringexpansion." This streamlined 12-song LP of soon-to-be classics creates a bumpyroadmap ofdesire free from ego. Rose notes that despite the current trend of "too cool"emotional avoidance in music and entertainment, she pushed herself and hercollaborators to bare a different side of themselves. "If you're coming into mycourt, you're coming to yearn," she declares with a laugh.Three albums in, Yearnalism is a sonic snapshot of Rose at her mostself-assured. "This is mereally honing in and trusting that signature, catching lightning-in-a-bottlesound," she says. "This is kind of a lesson in me really figuring out that myfavorite process is being a part of the crew, being a part of this whole moment."Baby Rose has been building up to this moment, brick by brick, for almost adecade. Raised between Washington D.C. and Fayetteville, N.C. on artists likeNina Simone, Donny Hathaway and Janis Joplin, the musician born JasmineRose Wilson has been a mainstay in alternative R&B since her 2019 debut, ToMyself. That's when the smoky resonance of her voice and awise-beyond-her-years presence first stopped listeners in their tracks. Sincethen, she has held her own on records with Ari Lennox, Big K.R.I.T., Q,BADBADNOTGOOD and J. Cole. She closed out the end credits of Hollywoodblockbuster Creed III and lent her talents to A24's Materialists both onscreenand off by giving the film's soundtrack two songs of aching texture andmoonlighting as a wedding singer in a cameo. She's graced stages witheveryone from Robert Glasper to Vince Staples and made appearances inperformance art at The Museum of Modern Art and ballets at Lincoln Center forthe Performing Arts in arrangements by Misty Copeland's choreographer, thelegendary Kyle Abraham. Her industry admirers include heavyweights like SZA,Alicia Keys, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, H.E.R, Kehlani, James Blake and OliviaDean. Plainly put, Rose's name rings bells and her artistry speaks even highervolumes.Getting to the level of self-love that each track of Yearnalism exudes has been ajourney for Rose and one that she plans to keep taking. Rose credits therapy forallowing her to call past bouts of anxiety and depression by their names, friends like SZA for introducing her to methods of breathwork and meditationand keeping God first for helping her stay grounded through her journey. Withher continued study of Yearnalism, Rose reminds the listener that it's worth itto say the hard parts out loud with honesty and to love in spite of fear. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Death Angel - Ultra-Violence - Remastered - Smoking Crater (LP) (New (N))
That one of the greatest thrash albums of all time was recorded by a bunch of teenagers (or barely even that... drummer Andy Galeon was only 14 years old) still remains one of metal's great success stories. Metallica's Kirk Hammett produced the Kill as One demo for Death Angel, and that, along with a fearsome live reputation (the band played L.A. and NYC despite their tender ages) led to their signing with Enigma and recording The Ultra-Violence in a mere three days. That's how tight these kids were... listen to "Evil Priest" and "Final Death" and prepare to be awestruck by their precocity, velocity, and ferocity. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: SML - Spontaneous Music Live (LP) (New (N))
SML is a Los Angeles based quintet featuring Anna Butterss, Jeremiah Chiu, Josh Johnson, Booker Stardrum, and Gregory Uhlmann. Spontaneous Music Live contains two side-length pieces of unedited improvisation, recorded live at Los Angeles venue Zebulon during SML's December 2025 three-night residency, just weeks after the release of the band's second album HOW YOU BEEN. It was recorded and mixed live to stereo tape by Bryce Gonzales (the same engineer/wizard known for his gorgeous live captures/mixes of Je? Parker's ETA IVtet). Between HOW YOU BEEN and their 2024 debut SMALL MEDIUM LARGE (both of which were heavily edited, shaped and post-produced) the band has developed a reputation for records that are heavily fused, polished, and punchy. The medium is on full post-modern display on those LPs, and the band's post-production knife can be responsible for much of the perspective-the tastiest morsels collected, arranged, and rearranged just so. Spontaneous Music Live removes the curatorial perspective and pulls the curtain back on that search-pluck-reconstruct editing process. What we're left with is the psychedelic realism of the band in situ, in their home town, collectively improvising, fully in-the-moment, mining for that moment of discovery. We hear, in macro, each nugget of sound which could be the basis for a future SML album track, spattered amongst the collective chaos-and-control like stars in the night sky. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Cat Power - Greatest - 20th Anniversary Edition (LP, Pink) (New (N))
Available for the album's 20th anniversary, Cat Power's 'The Greatest' on pink vinyl with a limited reprinting of the original pink foil cover. For 'The Greatest,' Chan Marshall returned to Memphis, pursuing the slinky Hi Records sound of the 70s, famed for it's sensuous feel and beguiling rhythms. She got Al Green's guitarist and songwriting partner Mabon "Teenie" Hodges ("Love and Happiness" and "Take Me to the River") to play guitar on the whole album. With Teenie came his Hi Rhythm bandmate (and brother) Leroy "Flick" Hodges, who plays on half of the album (Memphis A-team bassist Dave Smith supplements). Anchoring the band is Steve Potts (Booker T. and the MG). Other top Memphis musicians guest on keyboards, horns and strings. Cat Power went right to the sources, and created her own paean to the songs and styles she grew up on.'The Greatest' adds to Cat Power's singular sound all the elements that make an Al Green record great: Memphis horns, funky string arrangements, smooth background vocals. "Lived in Bars" is a hypnotic song that seems to start in the middle of the night and flow backward like water upstream to the source of a good time. Many songs hearken back to earlier in Cat Power's career, like the surface simplicity of "Willie"-much more complicated upon deeper listen-and like "Where Is My Love," which sounds like it could be the first song she ever wrote, and also the one to which she has always aspired. "Living Proof," on the other hand, has an almost gospel-like swing that stands in contrast to the quieter songs. The ethereal title track is the missing link between Big Star '3rd' and the 21st century. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Machine Head - Burn My Eyes - Remastered - Blood With Charred (LP) (New (N))
Featuring ex-Vio-lence guitarist Robb Flynn fronting the band and contributing personal and politically charged lyrics with riffs a-plenty, Machine Head's 1994 debut Burn My Eyes was a massive hit especially in Europe and led to the band joining Slayer on tour and headlining their own soon thereafter. There's a reason this was the best-selling record on the Roadrunner label till Slipknot's first; the "Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast" refrain to the album-opening song "Davidian" (inspired by the 1993 Waco Siege) is brilliant and chilling, full of the rage that led to that bloody day with menacing music to match. The rest of the record doesn't let up, either... this is one thundering, furious, glorious assault of an album, to which we've added five bonus demo tracks on this remastered and expanded 2-LP version. Blood with charred splatter pressing inside a gatefold jacket. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Pixies - Complete B Sides: 1988-97 (LP, Indie Exclusive Clear) (New (N))
Coming 25 years after it's initial release and coinciding with the band's 40th anniversary, Complete B Sides by Pixies has been remastered and is being reissued this June. Collecting all the b-sides from the band's classic 4AD-era, Complete B Sides contains some of the Pixies best 'other' tracks including 'Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)', 'Into The White' and 'The Thing' and until now, hasn't been available on vinyl.Originally released on CD in 2001, when the band were nearly a decade into a hiatus, Complete B Sides featured all 19 non-single tracks from the band's unbelievable run of 1988-1991 singles - 'Gigantic', 'Monkey Gone to Heaven', 'Here Comes Your Man', 'Velouria', 'Dig for Fire' and 'Planet of Sound'. To complete it, it concluded with the instrumental version of 'Letter to Memphis', the Trompe le Monde album track that appeared on the American release of 'Alec Eiffel'.For this updated edition, all the tracks have been remastered from their original analogue tapes by Kevin Vanbergen, sounding amazingly fresh, it also completes his extensive work across the band's catalogue. This new vinyl edition works as a companion piece to the band's recent Live at the BBC compilation where designer Chris Bigg (v23) has created striking new art, taking photos from Simon Larbalestier's archive that were originally slated for use by the Pixies but later shelved. Both long-term collaborators with the band, they worked on both releases in tandem to remember and honour the band's late-visual director, Vaughan Oliver. And as there is space for more music across four sides of vinyl, this updated version sees six live tracks added, culled from latter Pixies releases including 1997's 'Debaser' re-release. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Morton Feldman - New Directions In Music 2 (LP, 180 Gram) (New (N))
Ignore the "2" in the title; this is Morton Feldman's 1959 debut album, which by definition means it's a key release in the history of modern classical music. Feldman's association with the New York abstract art scene of the time is made explicit with the cover art by Philip Guston, but it's the music, with it's minimalism and emphasis on tonal color, that most clearly expresses the ethos of his visual artist peers. Perhaps the biggest influence, however-though it's hard to say exactly who influenced whom-is John Cage, whose experiments with chance methods of composition and performance echo in Feldman's graphic notation, which left choices of rhythm and pitch to the performers of his "Projections" and "Intersections" pieces. This release represents the first reissue of this landmark record (a later release, The Early Years, discarded the Guston album art and reshuffled the sequence), and to ensure the truest and clearest listening experience possible, we're pressing New Directions in Music 2 on black vinyl at Gotta Groove Records. If you're at all into, or even curious about modern classical, this is one you have to own. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Tasha - You Are Spring - Yellow [Colored Vinyl] (Ylw) (LP) (New (N))
You are Spring! Opens with a latticed wall of sound, acapella vocals layered in lush harmony, singing the semi-eponymous Spring. Immediately, Tasha spirits us away from dull, gray winter into a world replete with images and sensations of new life. Think: a riot of bell shaped blooms; blush and citrine and butter yellow; the sky a clear, lungful of blue; warmth, everywhere, kissing skin overwintered and longing for touch; ease after suffering; a deep breath after suffocating. "Don't die now / There's life to be found now," she begins. In lyrics inspired by Gwendolyn Brooks' poem To The Young Who Want To Die, Tasha enunciates the thesis of this album with exquisite precision. There are seasons of harshness, seasons of difficulty, yes. But, here, in this album, we meditate on spring-on a season of celebration, made all the sweeter because we know what one must endure to get there. "Alive now / It's spring now / Alive now / You're spring now," she closes, borne aloft by the velvety voices of Jamila Woods and Taja Cheek of L'Rain featured on this track, inviting us into the edenic jewel box that she's created here. For Tasha, spring is a place we arrive, but it's also a state we're in, a way we've become. When discussing what she hopes the album conveys, she further expounds on the meaning of Spring, saying "it's a way to say you are the thing that other people are looking forward to; you are the thing we're waiting for; you are the beautiful thing. "If the previous album was about yearning, of stretching toward an abundance you know is coming, then You are Spring! #is a chance to pause and take it all in once you have stepped into your fullness. Which is to say, You Are Spring! #is as emphatic as it's exclamation mark in it's attention to bliss, but it is also clear-eyed about the world around it. The latter half of the album walks this line of awareness between delight and doom. See, for example, Actor and it's examination of the gestures we make in a love that's gone hollow, followed by Special and it's lavishly arranged topiary of sound, complete with Tasha's clarinet debut. In it's final track, Quick! Tasha's voice climbs an almost Stephen Sondheim-esque run, urging us, singing, "Quick! See how this beauty rushes by?" There's dissonance in the jangle of the chords, the wheeze of her fingers sliding against the guitar neck, a gritty, almost cassette-tape quality to the production, again by Gregory Uhlmann. But we're not being kicked out of the garden just yet; the song winds itself down, back in the blue-bell grove of Tasha's softest register. You Are Spring! #challenges us to delight in our present, to see ourselves as the long-awaited season of new life and growth. And when winter comes again as it must always do, grief creeping in, heartbreak at the door, Tasha gives us something to hold on to. The surety that spring will come again, even then. That the beauty and fullness around us now will surround us again, once more. Tracklist: Spring (FT. Jamilla Woods ; L'rain) Clarion Perfect Promise Ending Summer Lucky Actor Special Porous Quick! Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Jane Remover - Census Designated (LP, Reissue) (New (N))
Milky Clear Vinyl. As long as she can remember, Jane Remover has practiced her own autonomy as much as possible. The nineteen year old songwriter is an omnivorous listener that produces everything herself. She has been lauded by fans and writers alike, for accidentally creating entire genres in the wake of her prolific two-year run. The new album is more conceptually abstract than it's predecessor as Jane sheds linear narrative writing. However, it takes place beginning at sundown and through the night, up until the next morning's earliest crack of dawn. It's winding songs are obtuse but carefully composed, and intimately follow Jane's train of thought. Dynamic production is at the forefront. Noisy highs gleam, and are juxtaposed by dusky Post-Rock lullabies within the same song's runtime.Census Designated is a staggering display of maturation in every aspect when compared to her previous presentation, to a degree that makes it few and far between in the world of albums. Despite the darker palette, Jane steps into a technicolor clarity for the first time. The album was made in both studios and at home-with recordings from Studio North (Kensington in Philadelphia) mixes from Kayla Reagan and mastered by Hector Vega. A photo of her standing bareback while facing away towards the high plains, serves as the cover art for an album where she manages to simultaneously divulge her most confessional moments yet, and captivate the listener with unanswerable questions. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Doc Watson - Doc Watson - Deep River Blue (Blue) (LP, Colored) (New (N))
The 1964 solo debut record from Doc Watson didn't just define guitar flat-picking for his generation and those to come (check "Black Mountain Rag"), but it also straddled American music traditions with amazing aplomb. Just try classifying this record: is it folk? Country? Bluegrass? The truth is, it's all of those things, and more. It's hilarious ("Intoxicated Rat"), mournful ("Little Omie Wise"), defiantly joyful ("Sittin' on Top of the World"), starkly existential ("Country Blues"), and even goofy ("Born About Six Thousand Years Ago"). But most of all, it's Doc Watson, the first and perhaps most lasting salvo from an American music giant. And, as such, it's one of the fundamental albums of American roots music, and a profound and deeply enjoyable listening experience. We at Real Gone Music are proud to bring you this all-time classic in it's original mono, pressed in deep river blue vinyl at Gotta Groove Records. A favorite trio from the streets and venues of New Orleans as well as festivals like the Brooklyn Folk Fest, this stellar early country and folk group makes it's recorded debut with a sound that feels both lively and deeply rooted. The members have been playing together in various projects for years, eventually coming together to form a cohesive group that captivates audiences with harmony singing, tight instrumentals, dance numbers, and an earnest take on old-time music traditions.Their self-titled album draws from the repertoire of country pioneers such as The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, alongside remarkable rediscoveries from obscure regional 78 recordings. The trio features fiddler George Aschmann of Fort Valley, Virginia; multi-instrumentalist Coleman Akin of Johnson City, Tennessee, who plays guitar, steel guitar, and fiddle; and Mo Kinney from Georgia on banjo. The band's name adds a touch of humor, playfully inspired by the house brand of Dollar General. Alliance Entertainment Pre-Order: Dexter-Music From The Showtime (Colv) (Gate) (Grn) - Dexter-Music From The Showtime Original Series (LP) (New (N))
How did Dexter make a TV audience sympathize with a serial killer? No question, it took an ingenious premise, great writing, great direction... and a stellar ensemble cast headed by lead actor Michael C. Hall. But long-time viewers of the show know there was another "character" that played a huge role in the series: the soundtrack. From Rolfe Kent's unforgettable title theme to the well-chosen Latin-tinged tunes that fit the Miami setting to composer Daniel Licht's brilliant themes, the score of Dexter commented on the action even as it amplified it's emotional power. Special mention must be made of the late Licht's work, which employed Latin and electronic elements to portray Dexter's warm and cold sides; among the favorites here are "Astor's Birthday Party" and the haunting "Blood Theme" that played over the credits in every episode. In 2007, the Milan label put out a CD and a truncated single-LP soundtrack album containing music from the first season; now, we at Real Gone Music are offering all of the music that appeared on the CD in an expanded double-LP edition, pressed on green "kill outfit" vinyl (to match Dexter's sartorial choices when he made his deadly excursions) and housed inside an appropriately gory gatefold. Don't miss Michael C. Hall's spoken word pieces, either... perversely pleasurable listening! Tracklist: Dexter Main Title - Rolfe Kent "Tonight's the Night" - Michael C.
