Digitally remastered edition. Born in the U.S.A. is the seventh studio album by American rock singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen, released on June 4, 1984. A critical and commercial success, it found Springsteen marking a departure in his sound. While it's predecessor, the dark and acoustic Nebraska, featured songs of pessimism and isolation, Born in the U.S.A.'s lyrics expressed signs of hope in the daily fight of the ordinary American in following the American Dream, a new feeling complemented by synthesized arrangements and a pop-flavored, radio-oriented sound that helped Springsteen to extend his popularity and appeal to mainstream audiences. The album was supported by an enormous commercial campaign that helped create several hit singles, as well as remixes and music videos. Born in the U.S.A. was the best-selling album of 1985 in the United States (and also Springsteen's most successful album ever), selling 15 million copies in the U.S alone, and 30 million worldwide. The album produced a record-tying string of seven Top 10 singles (tied with Michael Jackson's Thriller and Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814) and also a worldwide concert tour (the two-year Born in the U.S.A. Tour) that was a success. The album was lauded by most critics and is often considered one of Springsteen's finest albums (Rolling Stone magazine rated it the 86th-greatest album of all time, his second on the list) along with his 1975 breakthrough, Born to Run. The scathing condemnation of the title track is often misinterpreted as a patriotic anthem as a result of the repeating chorus.

Digitally remastered edition. Nebraska is the sixth studio album by Bruce Springsteen. The album was released on September 30, 1982, by Columbia Records. Sparsely-recorded on a cassette-tape Portastudio, the tracks on Nebraska were originally intended as demos of songs to be recorded with the E Street Band. However, Springsteen ultimately decided to release the demos himself. Nebraska remains one of the most highly regarded albums in his catalogue. The songs on Nebraska both deal with ordinary, blue collar characters who face a challenge or a turning point in their lives, but also outsiders, criminals and mass murderers, who have little hope for the future - or no future at all, as in the title track, where the main character is sentenced to death in the electric chair. Unlike his previous albums, very little salvation and grace is present within the songs. The album's uncompromising sound and mood, combined with it's dark lyrical content has been described by a music critic as "one of the most challenging albums ever released by a major star on a major record label."

Digitally remastered edition. The River is the fifth studio album, and the first double album by Bruce Springsteen. The album was released on October 17, 1980. Rolling Stone ranked it at number 253 on their list of the greatest albums of all time. The sources of The River go back into earlier parts of Springsteen's recording career. "Independence Day", "Point Blank", "The Ties That Bind", "Ramrod", and "Sherry Darling" were leftovers from his previous album, Darkness on the Edge of Town, and had been featured on that 1978 tour, as had parts of "Drive All Night" as a long interpolation within "Backstreets." "The River" had premiered at the September 1979 Musicians United for Safe Energy concerts, gaining a featured spot in the subsequent documentary No Nukes. Originally, the album was to be a single set entitled The Ties That Bind and released in late 1979. Springsteen added darker material after he'd written the title track. Indeed, The River became noted for it's mix of the frivolous next to the solemn. This was intentional, and in contrast to Darkness, for as Springsteen said during an interview, "Rock and roll has always been this joy, this certain happiness that is in it's way the most beautiful thing in life. But rock is also about hardness and coldness and being alone... I finally got to the place where I realized life had paradoxes, a lot of them, and you've got to live with them."

A gleaner of the forgotten, Buck Meek tips over the familiar and turns the unknown into a companion. On The Mirror, the artist's fourth solo record and second released by 4AD, there's a tender power, countered by immutable vulnerability. With an uncanny curiosity, Meek conjures twin worlds to reveal the uniqueness in the mundane. Inviting in reflection as collaborator and demon as friend, The Mirror doesn't seek to know but to ask, looking to the shape of a question rather than the illusion of it's answer.Meek grew up in Wimberley, Texas, teenage protege to an old guard of mystic Texas songwriters and musicians. He later moved to New York where he met Adrianne Lenker. The two lived in a van while singing their songs across the country before forming Big Thief. The partnership of Meek and producer, James Krivchenia, emerged from a decade of work together in Big Thief. Conceptually, The Mirror emerged from the idea to combine Meek's band's live, kinetic energy with an oblique electronic world. The pair invited a collective atmosphere in which simultaneous experiment could occur-musicians responding to each other in real time, while their instruments triggered modular synthesizers and electronic magic boxes. The Mirror welcomed in friends, family, collaborators from ranging musical eras of life as vital co-creators. New creative partners and longtime friends like composer and ambient musician Alex Somers joined in on synthesizer, toy microphone, and piano, and Mary Lattimore brought in the sounds of her prismatic harp.Lexical mirrors are handheld, tactile, and kept close throughout the record-each one holding up a new truth. The Mirror embraces the unknown with an abiding curiosity and Meek continues to reveal his skill as translator of human feeling and it's endless portals. The Mirror looks for duality, finding it in the weeds and overgrowth.

The legendary debut studio album from Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham. Buckingham Nicks is the only studio album by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks as a duo, prior to them joining Fleetwood Mac. Originally released in 1973 and unavailable for decades, the album has been sourced from the original analog master tapes for its long-awaited return to vinyl and will be available for the first time on CD.Released on September 5, 1973, Buckingham Nicks quickly faded from commercial view but never disappeared from the cultural conversation. Recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles and produced by Keith Olsen, the album introduced Nicks and Buckingham’s tightly wound harmonies and sharply contrasting songwriting voices across 10 tracks—ranging from the folk-rock shimmer of “Crystal” to the sunbaked strut of “Don’t Let Me Down Again.”

The Bug Club are back with a new album. It's been a whole seven months since their last. Where have they been?Every Single Muscle, the band's fifth LP overall, is the third to be released by the Welsh duo's esteemed Seattle-based patrons Sub Pop. Since Very Human Features, which emerged in June of 2025, the non-stop tour has seen the BBC 6 Music and KEXP favourites ping-pong across the Atlantic like they used to the Severn Bridge. Various festival slots in the summer kept them from having any sort of holiday - who needs one when you live in Wales anyway? - until it was time to head back to the writing room. Which is most likely still a bedroom in Caldicott frequented by a greyhound called Ted (listen out - he shows up in one of the songs). Ever self-effacing, songwriters Sam (guitar, vocals) and Tilly (bass, vocals) go as far as to claim that they've been sitting around "doing nothing at all" during the song "It's Our Manager David." That's clearly a lie. Every Single Muscle gets off to a full-throttle, chugging start with "Miss Wales 2012," referencing a competition both Tilly and Sam have actually won. It's the first of many sub-two-minute tracks on the album, setting the tone for The Bug Club's punkiest offering yet and recalling both the short, sharp snaps of their very first singles and the grunt of recent releases. So packed is the album with wall-to-wall riffs and lyrical hooks rammed into tight confines that Sam actually asks permission to squeeze in a solo during second track "A Good Day For Dying." He's given two seconds. Happily, Sam asks again later on and is granted more. Across eighteen tunes there's enough classic Sam/Tilly guitar interplay to satisfy even the most vociferous Bug Club club member and firmly refute the band's own claim that they are only "just about technically proficient on our instruments." This record's an exercise in efficient maximalism - the musical equivalent of your dad packing the car for a holiday. Bring what you like; space is tight but they'll get it in there somehow. On to the words: While Very Human Features did an excellent job of pointing at everyday things and highlighting their absurdity, on Every Single Muscle The Bug Club look more closely at themselves. Not so much in an introspective way, though. More in a way an alien might probe a captive specimen on an intergalactic gurney. Horror movies get their "body" subgenre, now garage rock albums get theirs. Self-interested in an entirely new sense of the term, the human form and condition is prodded and inspected from every angle over the course of the album. We get a sense of surreal detachment from the self that sets up the ever-present ennui-laden humour; the last song sees Sam announce he's "bored of being human." The Bug Club seem almost suspicious of the concept of being a person - as if they've woken up in a costume they didn't want to put on and cannot take off.Is three the magic number? Probably not. But Every Single Muscle - Sub Pop album number three for The Bug Club - certainly comes close enough to convince your average strange human person that it might be.

Portland, Oregon's The Builders and the Butchers return with their seventh studio album No TomorrowWell known for their energized live performances and a dedicated fanbase that travel long distances to see them play, their brand of folk-rock is best served live. Audiences can look forward to lively performances, where the fourth wall is broken and the audience is able to participate in call and response sing-a-longs. Sometimes the band will hand out instruments for fans to play, and they'll get down off the stage to perform right on the floor. These eleven songs were written with the current cultural changes and challenges in mind. The overarching message is that we can find hope in each other and still lead lives full of joy and creativity even when systems and leaders fail us. Seeking commonalties though music to create a connected shared experience for people, they strive for a live rock and roll experience akin to a church for the non-religious and religious alike. "We would love to see you at a show, shake your hand, give you a hug, and talk with you. We are forever grateful to you: our strange, unique, amazing fans. We are thrilled to share this album with you and hope it brings some light into the darkness," remarks Sollee." No Tomorrow was produced and recorded by multi-instrumentalist bandmate Ray Rude at his Laundry Room Studio. NPR has described the band as specializing in a kind of white-knuckle Americana: "Their acoustic folk-rock sound is shot through with nervy, hellfire-and-brimstone intensity. The Portland-born band's hometown brethren in The Decemberists provide a useful reference point - singer Ryan Sollee has a wide-open bellow and a gift for vivid imagery." "As our lives become more digital, people are sharing physical spaces less and less. The creation and performance of live music is an ever crucial, consistent, and communal space. In these spaces people can share the sounds, sights and smells of what it's like to be moved in unison and feel connection," says singer/guitarist Ryan Sollee.

Lucky For You is Bully's most close-to-the-bone album yet. It's an album that's searing and unmistakably marked by it's creator's experiences, while still retaining the massive sound that Alicia Bognanno has become known for over the last decade. Her fourth album draws from personal pain and the universal struggle that is existing, learning, and moving on-and it's all soundtracked by Bognanno's rock-solid melodic sensibilities and a widescreen sound that's impossible to pin down when it comes to the textures explored. These ten songs are simply the most irresistible Bognanno's put to tape yet, making Lucky For You her greatest triumph to date in a career already packed with them. Work on Lucky For You began last year, when Bognanno brought some in-progress demos to producer J.T. Daly in his Nashville studio to see if they could strike creative kismet. "Authenticity is always on my mind, without even knowing it," she explains while discussing their recording process together. "It was g

A mercurial mix that draws from the orchestral funk of Serge Gainsbourg, the wounded melodies of Elliott Smith, the worldly rhythms of Talking Heads, and the homespun R&B of Dijon, all infused with a '70s cinematic sensibility that blurs the line between sun-dappled, soft-focus fantasia and urbane sophistication. Alternative Rock-Sounding like a suburban, melodic white-funk-injected version of King Missile's performance art/standup comedy, "The Distance" became a novelty hit in the fall of 1996, sending Cake's second album, Fashion Nugget, to platinum status. Certainly, "The Distance" was the only reason Fashion Nugget went platinum, because the remainder of the album is too collegiate and arcane for mainstream music tastes. It isn't because it's obscure or intellectual - it's because the band is smirking. An "ironic" cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" is the key to the album, sending the signal that Cake consider themselves above everyone else, and nothing is too insignificant to make fun of. And that wouldn't necessarily have been a problem if they had the wit or musical skills that would make their music either funny or listenable. Instead, they wallow in sophomoric jokes that rely on self-consciously elaborate wordplay. Occasionally, their blend of collegiate musical styles - funk, hip-hop, alternative rock - makes the music easy to digest in small doses, such as "The Distance," but it isn't varied enough to prevent the album from becoming tedious when played straight through.

"Do not eat or drink anything past midnight prior to your appointment- NO FOOD, NO LIQUID". Non-sensical, un-user friendly, at times half finished. Camper Van Beethoven's second album II & III saw the folk-punk of the band's debut LP morphing into a coherently incoherent collection of some of the band's most defining songs. Originally released in 1986, the follow up to Telephone Free Landslide Victory did much to develop an already iconoclastic Camper Van Beethoven idiom. II & III ranges from alt-country ballads ("Sad Lovers' Waltz") to call-backs to the European folk instrumentals of the debut ("No Krugerrands For David", "4 Year Plan"). Also featured is the band's bluegrass-Americana take on Sonic Youth's "I Love Her All the Time", feeding their appetite for cover songs. This deluxe double CD set brings together the original II & III album with a 17 track live album of material from Camper Van Beethoven shows supporting REM on their Life's Rich Pageant tour. This audio was mostly recorded at the Lincoln, Nebraska show from October 10th, 1986, but is supplemented with audio from other shows of the tour.

Cannons has announced their fifth studio album, Everything Glows, out March 27 on Columbia Records. Everything Glows is a powerful and entrancing fifth album from the beloved band. Written and recorded as lead singer and songwriter, Michelle Joy rebuilt her health, showcasing less the sound of a band returning from a rest, and more a trio of friends reinventing the way they create, collaborate, and sound. The 11 songs of Everything Glows navigate heartbreak and codependence, brokenness and, ultimately, liberation, spotlighting a group that found new ways to move forward and absolute excitement in both the process and its results.

Will Toledo always knew he would return to Twin Fantasy. He never did complete the work. Not really. Never could square his grand ambitions against his mechanical limitations. Listen to his first attempt, recorded at nineteen on a cheap laptop, and you’ll hear what Brian Eno fondly calls “the sound of failure” - thrilling, extraordinary, and singularly compelling failure. Will’s first love, rendered in the vivid teenage viscera of stolen gin, bruised shins, and weird sex, was an event too momentous for the medium assigned to record it.Early next year, on the heels of the smashing success of Teens of Denial, Car Seat Headrest will release a new version of Twin Fantasy. “It was never a finished work,” Will says, “and it wasn’t until last year that I figured out how to finish it.” He has, now, the benefit of a bigger budget, a full band in fine form, and endless time to tinker. According to him, it took eight months of mixing just to get the drums right. But this is no shallow second take, sanitized in studio and scrubbed of feeling. This is the album he always wanted to make. It sounds the way he always wanted it to sound. It’s been hard, stepping into the shoes of his teenage self, walking back to painful places. There are lyrics he wouldn’t write again, an especially sad song he regards as an albatross. But even as he carries the weight of that younger, wounded Will, he moves forward. He grows. He revises, gently, the songs we love so much. In the album’s final moments, in those apologies to future me’s and you’s, there is more forgiveness than fury. This, Will says, is the most vital difference between the old and the new: he no longer sees his own story as a tragedy.

Today Cork's acclaimed Cardinals announce their much-anticipated debut album 'Masquerade'. Set to land February 13th on tastemaker label So Young Records, the ten song album was recorded with producer Shrink at RAK Studios, London across the summer. It's a record that is at once grand and intimate, awash with romance and flickers of holy imagery, and most of all, it's an undeniable fulfilment of the innate promise the band have shown since their earliest beginnings. These are emotionally expansive songs, some simmering with an undercurrent of violence, cynicism or fervent discontent (Anhedonia, The Burning of Cork, Barbed Wire) and others gleaming with a bright-eyed vulnerability. A vivid first half contrasts a darker second and crafts a record with a clear A-side and B-side. A nod to the band’s collective love of vinyl, that tonal shift takes its cue from a variety of expected and unexpected influences - from the brittle honesty of folk to the theatrical melodrama of goth-rock.

Digitally remastered and expanded edition. No one in the New York crossover metal scene could make a guy laugh like Carnivore front man Pete Steele. Whether it was the vomit-in-the-toilet track "Jack Daniels and Pizza," which opened the band's second album Retaliation or the crudely drawn obscene Sharpie renderings Steele would scribble on passed out musicians and crew members. Steele was a one of a kind and his perverse, oddball sense of humor infiltrated and enhanced his viciously aggressive blend of hardcore and metal. Just take two of Retaliation's many standouts, "Angry Neurotic Catholics" and "S.M.D. (Suck My Dick)." "For Retaliation, I really wanted to make an album that was half Black Sabbath-type metal and half ripping hardcore," he said before the album's original release in 1987. "I just loved that vibe, so I incorporated the slowness and heavy dirge sound with the incredible energy of bands like Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law and Sheer Terror." More than 30 years after it's release, Retaliation still stands as a landmark achievement in crossover music and another indication of Pete Steele's immense gift for songwriting, a talent he would demonstrate time and again between 1991 and 2007 with Type O Negative. Here comes the 2018 reissue with the original cover, bonus tracks and new liner notes by Jon Wiederhorn.

In the current wave of rock bands, Cashier stand out for the deep emotional weight they carry, and the clarity with which they wield it. Since their inception, the Lafayette, Louisiana, four-piece has built a buzz around their underlying heaviness that drives both their ambition and impact, quickly embedding themselves in the national DIY circuit, while remaining true to their Cajun roots.Sharing stages with genre titans like Dinosaur Jr., Whirr, Nothing, and Narrow Head, Cashier are building a reputation for a massive sound that resonates far beyond their bayou home. Early singles established the band's ability to unite grunge, shoegaze, post-hardcore, and indie rock heads alike, lacing dissonance with undeniable melodic hooks. Bandleader Kylie Gaspard's deeply direct vocal delivery cuts through dense riffs, grounding their songs with her gritty, emotional lyrics. That sound reaches full definition on The Weight, Cashier's debut EP, which captures the band's most precise songs yet. Peeling back some layers of dissonance to reveal more vibrant and clear tones, the four-piece adopted a laser-focused approach to songwriting and arrangement that made every chord count. Recorded entirely in their hometown at producer Chad Viator's home studio, the songs distill themes of desire, insecurity, and disconnection into five tightly wound, melody-driven songs. In energy-filled songs like "Part Of Me" and "Like I Do", riffs charge forward with meticulous urgency, carried by driving rhythms that echo the matter-of-factness of '90s emo. The noise interlude "For I Never Knew You" briefly cuts through the EP's harmonic momentum, setting the stage for the realizations that bubble to the surface in closers "Same Mistakes" and "The Weight." Across the EP, Cashier balance force and restraint, allowing Gaspard's blunt, fiercely heartfelt words to remain the emotional anchor.Ultimately, Cashier's search for serenity arrives at a sobering awareness: The Weight is something we all carry, and there's no turning back once you've made your choices in this life. Everyone bears their own baggage, but Cashier give meaning to the shared impulse to set it down, even when you know relief is out of reach.

Rocshire Records: sounds of the early-80s underground and indie cult classics for fans of West Coast punk, power pop, new wave and synth music presents a hard rock gem steeped in 1980s sheen presents a polished slice of early-'80s synth-pop that sits comfortably between European new wave cool and American radio charm. Built on programmed rhythms, sleek keyboards, and controlled melodic hooks, it reflects a period of growing fascination with technology, image, and emotional restraint. Andy Lunn's production is clean and uncluttered, favoring atmosphere and groove over excess. The vocals, recorded at Hotline Studios, are understated and detached, giving the songs a careful balance of pop accessibility and a lingering sense of distance. More style than spectacle, and more late-night drive than big-chorus anthems, this album arrived at a crowded moment and quickly slipped from view. In hindsight, it stands as a record deserving of a second look - a concise and coherent statement from the new wave era, stylish, restrained, and firmly rooted in it's time. With Cemetery Skyline, we're stepping into previously untrodden musical directions - those darker alleys that we hold dear in our hearts but haven't really wandered before. And we're collectively very excited!" For Cemetery Skyline Markus Vanhala (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum) is joined by keyboardist Santeri Kallio (Amorphis), drummer Vesa Ranta (Sentenced, The Abbey), bassist Victor Brandt (Dimmu Borgir and many more) and singer Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect). "We all share a deep love for goth rock from the 80s and 90s - whether it's more synth-driven or heavier guitar-dominated stuff. You know the deal with the best bands from The Sisters of Mercy to Type O Negative", says Santeri Kallio, who shares songwriting duties with Vanhala. "But is Cemetery Skyline a goth band? Maybe to an extent, but that's certainly not the whole story. If you have to describe Cemetery Skyline's diverse music somehow, do us a favor and call us ambassadors of melodic, melancholic and dark rock. Thank you. Released in 1983, this album marked a late-career reunion for Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde, bringing the British duo back into the studio after more than a decade apart. Best known for their melodic folk-pop work of the 1960s, they return here with a contemporary pop-rock sound that updates their harmony-driven approach without abandoning it, blending acoustic and electric guitars with early-'80s production touches, and framing familiar songwriting instincts in a modern context. Chad Stuart's production is clear and unfussy, designed to foreground melody and vocal interplay rather than studio flash. Stuart and Clyde's voices remain central, trading lines and harmonies with an ease that reflects their long partnership, allowing the songs to relay a distinctly reflective tone shaped by the time and distance of their earlier success. Arriving quietly and without significant commercial impact, this album passed largely unnoticed on release. In hindsight, it stands as a measured and coherent late-period statement - rooted in craft, focused on song, and firmly situated between the duo's past identity and the musical climate of the early 1980s. Irish duo Chalk's full-length debut LP, Crystalpunk [ALTER Music], speaks directly to the upbringing and roots of the band members-award-winning musicians and filmmakers Ross Cullen [vocalist + producer] and Benedict Goddard [multi-instrumentalist + director]. The beauty, confusion, complexity, and intensity of their youth - lived under the shadow and around the scars of conflict - are entangled in the industrial dance-punk hybrid encoded in the record's DNA, aptly entitled Crystalpunk. "This record is us waving a flag for that generation - the ones who inherited confusion, resilience, and a fractured sense of self." They're waving that flag as intensely as possible too. For the uninitiated, Chalk mainlines the reaction between genres, eras, and cultures, commuting this collision into their sound. The Belfast group could comfortably power an underground warehouse party after-dark, incite a mid-day festival mosh-pit, or shake an arena on any given evening. Their power has seamlessly translated to the stage with the group packing venues and delivering alternately sweaty and electrifying performances to a growing rabid fan base. As a group, they've sold out shows across the UK, EU and USA, notched festival performances such as Glastonbury, SXSW, BBK, Trans Musicals and more across 11 countries and were handpicked to tour alongside IDLES and Fontaines D.C..Coming from dissimilar backgrounds and rallying together naturally, Ben and Ross first crossed paths in film school. As the story goes, Ben had noticed a framed poster of Dublin disruptors Gilla Band in one of Ross's Instagram photos and felt a kinship before ever actually speaking to him. "Nobody else at our school was into experimental noise guitar bands, so that was all I needed to see," laughs Ben. Emerging in 2022, Chalk initially made waves with songs like "Them," "Velodrome," and "Static." Ultimately, they come-of-age and tell a story that resonates beyond borders. Not just a portrait of the band, but one of their home, a complicated place where the sacrifices made and risks taken by activists, artists, ravers and punks created the only environment that a band like Chalk could emerge from. Crystalpunk is not about choosing a side, it's about choosing the future.
