For The Bites, the past few years have seemed like a lifetime. After their debut album cracked the Top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, paving the way for multiple world tours and introducing them to legions of music fans longing to celebrate the rich and colorful tapestry that is rock and roll, the results have been, quite literally, life changing.
“When we were only playing shows on the Sunset Strip, it was like we were looking at the world through a paper towel roll,” says drummer Mark Hylander, referencing the band’s Los Angeles origin story. “It seems like we’ve lived about a hundred different lifetimes since we wrote and recorded that first album. It’s like we are looking at the world with both eyes now, not just one. The blinders are off and we can see all around us.”
Their forthcoming sophomore release – aptly-titled The Bites – demonstrates their evolution. It is a bold step into the beyond, and is self-titled because it is exactly how the band want to be seen and heard in 2026. Look no further than lead single “Aftertaste,” a modern rock explosion that flips the thrill of the chase upside down and leaves us turned around. It’s something we’ve all experienced.
The bright lights of home have been dimmed, and The Bites now speak a universal language. The writing process was a journey of discovery - nothing was off limits, and no inspiration was left unturned. If their debut album was about the Squeeze, The Bites will leave us all enjoying the juice.
“This is who we are,” says vocalist Jordan Tyler. “We can’t wait for people to join us on the ride!”

Jennifer Herrema's Black Bananas return with Bad Bunch, the group's first album since 2014's Electric Brick Wall and Herrema's first release since Royal Trux's White Stuff (2019). Arriving via Fire Records, the album marks the long-awaited return of Herrema's iconic vocals alongside longtime collaborators Brian McKinley and Kurt Midness. From Royal Trux to RTX to Black Bananas, Jennifer Herrema's work has never divided into separate phases so much as continued in motion. As Pitchfork observed, Black Bananas are an ""alternate-universe RTX"", absorbing influences from synth-pop, hip-hop, French-touch house and dancehall into their own singular sound. Originally formed over 20 years ago under the name RTX, Herrema, McKinley and Midness have evolved into a kinetically connected, freaky collective. Bad Bunch finds the trio delivering a spaced-out, jazzy-rock groove, shaped by improvisation and new recording methods developed over the last decade. Beginning more than ten years ago, the album took shape across periods of disconnected time, interrupted by the Royal Trux reunion and the upheaval of the pandemic. The result is a record that pushes Black Bananas' innovative tendencies even further while remaining unmistakably their own.

Bloc Party’s place in hearts & minds was never up for debate, but the past four years have reaffirmed that position and simultaneously ignited the a new passion with fans young & old. From touring the world with their friends Paramore to headlining a sold out Crystal Palace Park, performing songs from their seminal debut Silent Alarm through to the constant reinvention of their more recent work, before returning to Reading & Leeds last year to enormous crowds. Now, propelled by this renewed energy and buoyed by their biggest year of touring in two decades, Bloc Party are ready to release their next album; a narrative work examining a year-long relationship in intimate and often brutal detail, realised in the studio with the legendary Trevor Horn. Violins, the third album from Blondshell, finds Sabrina Teitelbaum digging in. Following her acclaimed 2023 self-titled debut and 2025's If You Asked For A Picture, the 11-track Violins trades the veil of bad romantic relationships for something braver, asking how we balance the world's violence with its beauty across songs about troubled friendships, religion, the body, and the long, unglamorous work of healing. It's an album of grandeur, drama, and tragedy, built on virtuoso hooks, swelling guitars, and big lead lines, pulling in fresh touchstones from Gang of Four, Teenage Fanclub, The Go-Betweens, and Sade, alongside lyrical nods to Leonard Cohen and Pavement. From the anthemic frenemy portrait of "Heart Has To Work So Hard" to the sunny, insomniac daydream of "Lucky" and the disarming closer "Fur Elise," Violins captures the sound of an artist who has stopped overexplaining and started rendering art on her own terms. The 2015 Billboard Legend of Live honoree's catalog has earned 13 platinum and 8 multi-platinum RIAA Certified sales awards, including his Diamond-certified Greatest Hits, which remains a perennial bestseller.

BODEGA’s upcoming brand-new album ‘All Inside Aquarium’ sees the band expanding far beyond their minimalist post-punk origins towards soaring anthemic rock, sans the ‘indie’. The group’s goal was, “Let’s go back to melodic tunes, let’s be more of a proper rock band,” Hozie explains. Sonically, the band aimed for “this late ’80’s/early 90’sStone Roses-meets-Janes Addiction thing, with more riffing and guitar solos.” Where the band’s earlier material took a more explicitly sociopolitical bent, Hozie and Belfilgio’s writing on ‘All Inside Aquarium’ is deliberately more concerned with the personal, poetics, and play. With each single from the album, the band have created a limited edition 7” singles series. Each 7” has a unique colour and individual exclusive artwork that corresponds to a section of the ‘All Inside Aquarium’ album cover designed by Nikki. BODEGA, passionate defenders of the lost art of curating B-sides, made sure that each disc comes with an exclusive B-side track that’s not available digitally, or on the album. Vinyl collectors and BODEGA heads will surely want to catch them all.

Tension, contradiction, curiosity, animosity and affection - these are all essential to the collaboration between The Body and Cel Genesis. Also essential are the sounds of trance music, the weight of distortion and the grinding of experimental electronica - all counterpointed against the viscerality of two live drummers. The idea to collaborate and make Whole Wide World was hatched on tour, with few parameters other than to use friendship, humility and each artist's distinct processes to create music. Cel Genesis' creative practice tends towards maximalist writing - coupled with aggressive editing. The Body's process as exploratory shape shifters is foundationally improvisational, and inclined to push ideas to their outermost limits as they have with distortion, vocal techniques and in other collaborations' samples and beats.Recorded at Machines with Magnets by Seth Manchester with additional recording in California by Andrew Oswald, Whole Wide World evolved over a period of two years, several recording sessions and meticulous editing. Some songs were built from beds of electronics generated by Cel Genesis, served to the group to be edited and arranged; others grew from beds of live drumming by Lee Buford (The Body) and Nick Cowman (Cel Genesis), that were similarly worked and re-imagined.Whole Wide World is a dense and heavy album, but one that nevertheless feels joyful and fresh - an uncategorisable ode to egoless invention. It's a work born of artists with disparate approaches, who feel compelled and comfortable to surrender them, in service of the birth of new art. Whilst the album was made with joy, the themes of the album confront today's harsher realities; we see this play out as through the eyes of an unrelenting optimist processing the death of possibility itself.

Buddy Miller cleared out the kitchen to make room for a drum kit. What followed is his first solo album in fifteen years — twelve songs of soul, country, early rock 'n' roll, and gospel, made with a community of friends and collaborators that spans five decades of American music. The album opens with "As Long as I Have You," the early Temptations hit, anchored by the McCrary Sisters, who appear throughout. From there it moves through Julie Miller co-writes ("You Never Really Get Over It," "Losers' Celebration," "Masterpiece in the Sand"), a late-period Dan Penn song ("Not Enough Time to Change"), and Jesse Winchester's devastating "Lay Down the Burden of Your Heart." The guest list reads like a lifetime of earned trust: Shawn Colvin and Jim Lauderdale — both going back to Buddy's New York country band of the early '80s — stop by to sing. Dan Penn lends sly gravitas to the Smokey Robinson-penned "Don't Look Back." The War & Treaty deliver a stunning take on the Winchester track. Lee Ann Womack duets on "Stop Me." Emmylou Harris, Larry Campbell, and Teresa Williams join on the hymn-like "The Inner Sanctum of God." And "Till the Wheels Come Off" — written about Buddy and Julie's love by Ashley Monroe, Elizabeth Cook, Angaleena Presley, and Meg McRee — arrives as an act of communal devotion. The core band (Fred Eltringham, Viktor Krauss, Tim Lauer, Steve Fishell, Fats Kaplin) plays with the understated nuance of musicians who have nothing left to prove. Five of the twelve songs are Julie Miller compositions, and the album closes on her words: "The greatest works of man are just a masterpiece in the sand."

Nearly finds Bullion embracing the beauty of imperfection. After years spent helping define the sound of contemporary avant-pop as a cult producer (Avalon Emerson, Carly Rae Jepsen, Westerman, Ben Howard, and Oliver Sim of the XX), Nathan Jenkins emerges from behind the board to deliver his most distilled album yet - a collection of starry-eyed, timeless electronic pop songs about change, desire, responsibility, and creativity as an irresistible force. Recorded live at the final ever gig at Liverpool's original Cavern Club, this document captures Caliban in full, unruly flight. Ripping through a set of punk-edged hard rock before a partly bewildered crowd, the band unleash heavy, grinding riffs in a Deep Purple-meets-Third World War frenzy. Few venues loom as large in music history as the Cavern, birthplace of the Beatles and Cilla Black, and demolished in 1973. This recording preserves the very last night before the wrecking balls moved in at dawn. Caliban's early-'70s guitar-driven attack honours rock 'n' roll roots while pre-empting a distinctly British punk ethos, aligning them with Stack Waddy and Third World War, yet heavier and fiercer. Hugely popular locally, once supported by Judas Priest, this long-lost debut finally reveals Caliban: raw, confrontational, and uncompromisingly loud.

Available as a gatefold 2xLP / CD with new artwork on October 16th: Car Seat Headrest's Will Toledo re-imagines the band's breakout on Teen of Denial: Joe's Story. On the original record, Toledo used the name "Joe" as a stand-in for himself. Revisiting Teens in the run-up to it's 10th year, he felt compelled to give Joe a backstory and began tweaking the album to tell that tale. "The resulting work feels more like the album Teens of Denial was meant to be," Will Toledo writes in a new message to fans. "When you're writing from a dark space, it's hard to have perspective on where you're at. This time, I could pull from memories of that darkness, and use the distance and additional perspective of ten years of life to shed a fuller light on the experience. Joe is a character going through some of what I experienced, and some of his own problems."Early this year, the group returned to the studio with producer Steve Fisk to update accordingly -tweaking lyrics and recording new tunes in the "Denial-style," including the optimistic and anthemic "Joe Drives Again." The result retains Teens's dark edge and youthful cynicism, but promises a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Toledo writes, "I'm so grateful that this is a work that people have kept coming to, and I hope that this presentation does them honor with a fresh offering to the conversation. We've known that "it doesn't have to be like this"; now we can wonder - "'what it if were like this?'"

Time to turn on and turn it up, there's a brand new Carlton Melton in the offing... it's been a good couple of years since the West Coast space/sike travelers have dropped new music. 'Phantomize beyond the window, into the portal, the panes of eternal returns, wooden spirals, roots into the realms of everything and nothing, the reason beings'With Anthony Taibi fully ensconsed in the metaphorical Melton Dome, this four piece is ready to soar, go deeper and wider into the sike psyche than on previous recordings, now fully recording live with drums, bass, guitars and keys-recorded at 3D Light in Freshwater, CA by Anthony Tiabi in 2025, and mastered by the inimitable John McBain in 2026.We have a single LP of 40+ minutes spanning 4 tracks, that have textures, and waves and patterns to lull you into some fever dream of motorik psych! Touchstones like Träd, Gräs Och Stenar / Kandodo / Guru Guru / Eno & Fripp / Birds of Maya / Parson Sound come into view. There are moments of gentle ambience bordered by speaker shredding guitar soloing, whole passages of Krautrock inspired jams that have form and focus-you blink and your live flashes before you, the record ends, you want more. Carlton Melton masterfully blend hypnotic, long-form psychedelic jams with drone and Krautrock influences. UPC: 5061041822452Label: Agitated RecordsRelease Date: 9.18.26Format: CD
Fishtailing across a trimmed sod lawn, the parking lot of a box-store strip mall, a fast food drive-thru-it's a hyperreal Americana fantasy that calls Caroline Rose (she/they) home on 'Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall'. The release doubles as the debut of SUCK records, the LA based artist's own imprint-a fitting next form for an enigmatic musician whose work resists settling into one shape.'Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall' stretches the ordinary into the uncanny. The record pairs sharply observed, memoiristic songwriting with expansive guitar textures that render the everyday with violent clarity and mythic scale. Beneath it's melodic sweep and signature hooks runs a current of violence and American dream leakage. It's Ennio Morricone with an AR15: surf guitars, spaghetti westerns, and suburban dread colliding until they become their own sharp vernacular. Reality is unstable, so we'll keep telling stories-and for Rose, the sinister slickness of the everyday grows a new head.Working with producer John Congleton, Rose built the record through humor, layering, and instinct rather than Polish. Songs like ""Conversations with Shiv,"" ""Goddamn Train,"" and ""Everything in it's Right Place"" were recorded in studio for the first time, with sessions that prized first impulses over perfection. The result is panoramic but never precious-songs that feel meticulously constructed while always threatening to mutate. Over the last six years, Rose's music has evolved alongside their work organizing around stronger labor protections and collective bargaining rights for musicians and crews. Creative and political practice have increasingly become the same project as Rose's career has taken on it's hyper-independent form. Those concerns echo throughout 'Gentling the Horse'. It's landscapes are populated by inherited systems that feel absurd yet inescapable, where humor becomes a survival tactic and satire reveals the quiet violence embedded in everyday American life.
