With their ever-mutating brand of jazz- and country-laced punk, Opus Kink have always cut a singular figure in a saturated landscape. Making their name with incendiary, cult-like live shows, the band has developed a sound as elusive as it is recognizable. Underscored by a formidable horn section and a ragged, sardonic delivery, the group bears a passing resemblance to post-punk and no-wave acts such as The Pop Group, The Birthday Party, and the Lounge Lizards. However, it is their weaving of older, more traditional influences-choral, folk, country, Latin, Weimar cabaret, and cruise-ship crooning-into the fabric of their music that truly sets them apart. Their highly anticipated debut album, The Sweet Goodbye, follows a series of EPs and singles that have earned acclaim from NME, DORK, DIY, CLASH, So Young, BBC Radio 1, and playlisting on BBC Radio 6 Music. The album was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and mixer Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire, Florence & The Machine, R.E.M.) and features a guest appearance by The New Eves, whose 2025 debut album reached No. 1 on the UK's Official Independent Albums Chart. We went back to an older method of writing for this one. We jammed and jammed and jammed. I took the tapes home and ironed out some mutant tunes. We went back into the studio and burned them to tape live and then I took it home to Stu-Stu-Studio and did the vocals and bought in Tom Dolas & Brigid Dawson to put the finish on. Spice is always nice. Mixed it all up in the cauldron and thus we have a strange brew indeed. Floating in the smoke we have: a couple long jams, a couple short jams and a finale that'll dump a bucket of ear worms on you (reminiscent of "the axis"?). Dip your toe in organ rock and roll. So without further ado, we present to you "OFF COURSE," an album wondering where the fuck are we and how did we get here. A signal dispatched out into the darkness. We are here. We are alive. And we are together. CHEERS NO EARS, JPD/DG/Osees.

Palace return with their most open-hearted collection yet, 'Ox', out September 18th. The announcement of the new album arrives alongside the release of its latest single, ‘Dream On’. What began in 2016 as Palace Presents, a monthly takeover at The George Tavern in London, has evolved into a worldwide community. This autumn, the band will embark on a major North American run, following a sold-out homecoming show at London’s iconic Somerset House this summer. 'Ox' will be available on CD and in four LP formats including 180g heavyweight black vinyl from the official store, a black cherry vinyl available from independent record stores.

Panda Bear and Sonic Boom's second album together, A ? of WHEN, maintains the sense of musical play brought forth in their triumphant 2022 debut together, Reset. It is built on loops of harp and sequences of steel drum, webs of pedal steel and even bits of a mariachi band. These are, of course, deliberate choices, sounds and textures they've never used and that offered a clear sonic break from the success of Reset. It works, too. The pastoral psychedelia of "Something Like Dreaming," the Wall of Sound soul sway of "Like a Moth to a Flame," the wildly warped skiffle simplicity of "Revive Him": Listening to A ? of WHEN feels like being a kid inside this pair's musical playground, beaming as you bound from station to station. But maybe more than ever, Sonic Boom and Panda Bear emerge through these 10 songs as two people with frank opinions about these times, with a real stake in the sway of the world. These tunes grapple with online exhaustion and pervasive depression, with political chicanery and ecological sustainability, all while advocating for respecting the power of luck and giving one another grace in a moment when very few of us actually know what the hell is happening. Has it ever been easier to complain publicly about something without trying to change it? Sonic Boom and Panda Bear are not content to gripe about circumstances or speculate about the fall on A ? of WHEN. They're not going to stream these songs. They're just going to sell them and give away bumper stickers that, hilariously, boast "I'm unfollowing Panda Bear & Sonic Boom." The goal is for the music to create physical connections between people, to encourage them to enjoy a real experience in the world with it and each other.

'The Fatal Flaw' is the much anticipated sophomore album from Paris Paloma; and quite simply it is an album all about Love. Love as Art, Love under the Patriarchy, Love as a political and radical act - in short 'The Fatal Flaw' examines Love from a deeper and philosophical perspective. Even the songs that aren't about Love, also are. They are about the absence of love, and what happens in those spaces, so they are songs about the necessity of love, and the consequences of it's absences.

The six tracks comprising recordings 2008-09 make up the entire pennines discography to date. In 2006 the four-piece began writing their first songs in Norwich, UK, releasing "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot..." and "Open Closed Open" in 2008 on the retroactively titled First CD (aka demo or free cd), the original physical copies of which were homespun and given away gratis at shows. Coming up in the UK mid-late 2000s indie music scene, pennines were lucky enough to share the stage with contemporaries such as Stapleton, Hot Club de Paris, Colour, Dartz!, TTNG and other like minded musical friends. Popularized by genre forebears toe and American Football, pennines favoured arpeggiated guitar, syncopation, staccato call-and-response harmonies, and unexpected rhythm decisions. "One of the things I loved about pennines was the absolute lack of bullshit," recalls singer/guitarist Henry Tremain, referencing the band's straightforward approach to their sound. Pennines used a clean guitar tone with no distortion or effects pedals and a DIY approach to recording, aiming for a natural representation of the songs. The downtempo, meditative coda of "Collapsing New Buildings" exemplifies the pennines signature, as does the entrancing guitar play midway through "Pilot Holes," two songs that also feature upbeat, crashing passages that demonstrate the band's ability to balance energy and subtlety. #recordings 2008-09 concludes in under twenty minutes with the scurried "Does Not Want," whose abrupt ending tricks the listener into expecting more - fitting punctuation for a band whose original run was no more than a few years, and resulted in a discography shorter than most albums.

PHOEBE BRIDGERS is a singer-songwriter from Pasadena, CA. Beloved in equal measure for her deceptively subtle voice and her meticulous, incisive lyrics, her solo records Stranger in the Alps (2017) and Punisher (2020) have been accompanied by a number of collaborations, including the supergroup boygenius, with whom Bridgers won three Grammys for 2023’s the record. Her songs are hallmarked by a kind of intimacy that’s hard-found in contemporary music, and scale between the macro and the micro with an ease that’s matched only by her towering, prodigious way with words. After nearly two decades, Piebald return with Tales For The Rages, Featuring 13 tracks of emo x indie-rock greatness, written and recorded between 2019-2025 after the band's 2016 reunion sparked a steady flood of riffs, melodies, and lyrics that refused to fade. It picks up where they left off while confidently pushing forward - not a nostalgia play, but a natural next chapter. Tracked at The Den in North Reading, MA with longtime collaborator Doug Batchelder, the album was produced in part by Jay Maas (Title Fight, Citizen) and mastered by Jack Shirley (Joyce Manor). The album captures the band's signature mix of melody, humor, and emotional candor, anchored by massive hooks and harmonies, with an undercurrent of social awareness reflecting on inequality, human behavior, and the strange modern world. Released via Iodine Recordings, Tales for the Rages marks a new chapter built from the same spirit that defined Piebald's earlier work, carried forward with renewed urgency and clarity. "the most exciting band in years" The Times "Cross-cultural identity and musical exploration fuels this special new band's debut album" Rolling Stone "one of the most exciting bands around" ClashA new orange vinyl edition of their hugely acclaimed debut album OUTTANATIONAL limited to 500.Cosmic exploration. Spiritual transformation. Unbridled spontaneity. These are the guiding principles of Pigeon, a psychedelic five-piece rooted in the English seaside town of Margate, yet making music that transcends borders. Pigeon are Falle Nioke (vocals, percussion), Graham Godfrey (drums), Josh Ludow (bass), Steve Pringle (keys, synths) and Tom Dream (guitar), musicians whose combined credits include Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, SAULT and Saul Williams. Their debut album, OUTTANATIONAL, is a thrilling collection of party songs without limits: think William Onyeabor in outer-space or early Hot Chip making motorik afrobeat in a 70s New York loft. Building on a string of acclaimed EPs that have been playlisted on 6Music and led to coveted live slots at UK festivals like Glastonbury, Pigeon have evolved out of Afro-disco territory into something moodier. It's an expansive record laced with heady krautrock, post-punk and punk-funk, indebted to the power of the groove and questing to find the meaning of home. Pigeon must fly.

Continuing the band's 40th anniversary celebrations, and hot on the heels of the first official vinyl pressing of their brilliant 4AD B-Sides compilation, Pixies are repressing studio albums Bossanova (1990) and Trompe le Monde (1991) on both black vinyl and CD. These represses feature newly remastered audio with engineer Kevin Vanbergen having returned to the band's original analogue tapes to deliver stunning new masters that reveal more layers to these much-loved records.Bossanova is the third Pixies album. The band continued to work with Gil Norton after collaborating to such success on their platinum-selling second album Doolittle. Their third album in as many years, 1990 was a particularly fertile time for the band with Kim Deal also having success with The Breeders, who released their debut album Pod just a few months prior. Featuring the singles 'Allison' (a tribute to jazz and blues pianist Mose Allison), 'Dig For Fire' and 'Velouria', plus the first cover to feature on one of their albums 'Cecilia Ann' (originally by The Surftones), Bossanova showed a less primal side to the band, with surf and space rock rising to the fore. Lyrically, Black Francis is even more cryptic with a recurring sci-fi theme running throughout, which in turn influenced Vaughan Oliver's classic planet design for the sleeve.

Coming 25 years after it's initial release and coinciding with the band's 40th anniversary, Complete B Sides by Pixies has been remastered and is being reissued this June. Collecting all the b-sides from the band's classic 4AD-era, Complete B Sides contains some of the Pixies best 'other' tracks including 'Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)', 'Into The White' and 'The Thing' and until now, hasn't been available on vinyl.Originally released on CD in 2001, when the band were nearly a decade into a hiatus, Complete B Sides featured all 19 non-single tracks from the band's unbelievable run of 1988-1991 singles - 'Gigantic', 'Monkey Gone to Heaven', 'Here Comes Your Man', 'Velouria', 'Dig for Fire' and 'Planet of Sound'. To complete it, it concluded with the instrumental version of 'Letter to Memphis', the Trompe le Monde album track that appeared on the American release of 'Alec Eiffel'.For this updated edition, all the tracks have been remastered from their original analogue tapes by Kevin Vanbergen, sounding amazingly fresh, it also completes his extensive work across the band's catalogue. This new vinyl edition works as a companion piece to the band's recent Live at the BBC compilation where designer Chris Bigg (v23) has created striking new art, taking photos from Simon Larbalestier's archive that were originally slated for use by the Pixies but later shelved. Both long-term collaborators with the band, they worked on both releases in tandem to remember and honour the band's late-visual director, Vaughan Oliver. This updated version sees six live tracks added, culled from latter Pixies releases including 1997's 'Debaser' re-release.

With producer Gil Norton again at the controls, their fourth album is arguably their most playful with Black Francis's lyrics on UFOs and conspiracy theories keeping things weird while power pop creeps in to amplify the space rock established on predecessor Bossanova.Trompe le Monde goes full throttle with 15 tracks coming in a quickfire 40-minute salvo.
