Initiated in 1998 by Jedi Mind Tricks frontman Vinnie Paz as an homage to the incredible rap crews of the 80's and early 90's, the Army of the Pharaohs has, from it's outset, been an ever-evolving collective of celebrated emcees from the indie hip-hop scene. In it's nearly two decades, AOTP has released three studio albums alongside countless solo albums and side projects from it's lineup of emcees that have been some of the most critically acclaimed and best-selling indie hip hop records of the past 20 years."The Unholy Terror captures Army of the Pharaohs in full force. The album is a dark and aggressive underground hip-hop release built around cinematic production, relentless lyricism, and the unmistakable chemistry of one of independent rap's most respected collectives. Led by Vinnie Paz, the group brings together a powerful roster of emcees who deliver sharp, competitive verses with intensity and purpose. The production is heavy, grim, and theatrical. Hard drums, sinister samples, and dramatic arrangements create a sound that matches the album's violent and apocalyptic imagery. This is not a polished mainstream rap record. It is built for listeners who want dense bars, dark atmosphere, and the raw physical impact of classic underground East Coast hip-hop.For record stores and label shops, The Unholy Terror is a strong catalog title with a loyal and clearly defined audience. It speaks directly to fans of Jedi Mind Tricks, Demigodz, Non Phixion, Wu-Tang Clan's darker material, and battle-tested independent rap. For fans of raw lyricism, massive group energy, and uncompromising underground hip-hop, this is a cornerstone release from one of the scene's most important collectives."

Capone-N-Noreaga’s, The Reunion, brings the Queens duo back together after the long shadow of The War Report, balancing street-corner grit with bigger turn-of-the-millennium rap production. Released in 2000 on Tommy Boy, the album fi nds Capone and Noreaga leaning into their chemistry:
Capone’s colder, clipped delivery grounding Nore’s wild-eyed charisma and off-kilter bounce. The record features heavyweight production and appearances from names like DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Havoc, L.E.S., Nas, Mobb Deep, Foxy Brown, and Carl Thomas, surrounding CNN with some of New York rap’s most recognizable voices and architects. Highlights like “Bang Bang,” “Invincible,” “Queens Finest,” and “Phonetime” keep the album rooted in hard drums, prison-call tension, borough pride, and that unmistakable CNN slang. Commercially, it made a solid showing, reaching No. 31 on the Billboard 200 and No. 8 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, with “Phonetime” hitting No. 22 on Hot Rap Songs. The Reunion stands as a hard-nosed second chapter for CNN: a tough, guest-heavy, post-millennium Queens record that captures Capone and Noreaga reconnecting without sanding off the grime. This deluxe edition features the remastered original album with 3 bonus tracks.

Fake Flowers is the long out-of-print first solo album from Ceschi (current member of Codefendants and founder of Fake Four Inc.) made up of fractured bedroom recordings between 1999 and 2003 on an 8-track machine while emerging from the worlds of underground hip hop, DIY punk, noise, and psychedelic indie folk. Originally conceived as an extremely limited noise tape collaboration with his cousin Ernesto Mercado between rehearsals with their band Anonymous Inc., the project slowly mutated into something much larger : an accidental blueprint for the genre-defying path that would later define Ceschi's work, the formation of Fake Four Inc., and a decades-long career moving between punk basements, Project Blowed cyphers, folk confessionals, and stages around the world. Initially released in 2004 through Beyond Space Entertainment, the songs on Fake Flowers grew an underground following in the earliest 2000s by being traded on tapes, burned CDs, AIM instant messenger, and message boards. Influenced as much by the abstract lyricism and left-field production of the Project Blowed and Anticon worlds as by the tape-saturated psychedelia of the Elephant 6 Recording Company collective, Fake Flowers drifts through quick-tongued poetry, lo-fi hip hop, damaged indie pop, and found sound experiments with little concern for genre boundaries. The recordings are raw, imperfect, occasionally immature, deeply vulnerable, and entirely unfiltered. It's a surreal album about lost childhood and growing up made by an artist in his late teens and early 20s discovering his solo voice in real time. Now available on vinyl again for the first time in over a decade, this new pressing via Old Soul Music / OTHAR resurrects a long-lost piece of underground history... a snapshot of a pre-streaming DIY era where burned CDs, four-track experiments, basement shows, and grassroots scenes created lifelong movements from the margins.

On "Malcolm," a track from Chuck Strangers' latest opus, Glory Of The King's Hand, he raps, "I still rap from the perspective of my government name... " The stage name "Chuck Strangers" is, of course, an alias, but it's not necessarily an alter ego. For the man born Che Jessamy, his rap moniker isn't some over-the-top rock star persona contrived for public consumption; it's just a name. What you hear on his records is really who he is: a heavy-tongued griot from East Flatbush, Brooklyn, with a gift for vivid stream-of-consciousness storytelling. His bars are imbued with the wisdom he's gained in his lifetime, especially in the 14 years since he first made his debut with the Pro Era collective in the 2010s. "When I was younger I would always be looking forward to 'next year' or saying to myself, 'When I do this, it's going to be this'... blah blah blah," says Chuck, describing how his definition of success has evolved since then. "But then, as I got older, I have just been more grateful for the gift that it is to even make music [professionally]." The elaborate title of his new album, Glory Of The King's Hand, speaks to his gratitude for the hand that life's dealt him, which is a pretty good one. At age 34, he does what he loves professionally and does it on his own terms. That's something to be thankful for. Glory Of The King's Hand not only represents Chuck's matured attitude but also his matured sound. After a decade in the game, there's an emphasis on songcraft like never before: "On this album, I made a lot of conscious [musical] decisions," he says. "I made choruses, there's melodies, there's instrumentation... I really tried to just make better songs that people might want to hear again - that are more than just a good verse." Key to this refined approach was collaboration. Chuck is a proficient beatmaker in his own right, as evidenced by his production work for himself and artists like Joey Badass and Boldy James (see 2025's Token of Appreciation album), but this time around, he chose to be a producer in the Quincy Jones sense of the word, bringing together vocalists, producers, and musicians instead of handling all of the beats and rhymes himself: "I only did one beat on the album ["Everyday"], which is the least amount of beats I ever did on any of my albums." The results of this collective approach are astounding. Take, for instance, "Breaking Atoms," a track built on the improvised-on-the-spot music of production trio/band Human Error Club. A hypnotic Fender-Rhodes and head-nod-inducing drums are the perfect complement for Chuck and woods' visual verses and give way to Zeroh's psychedelic sung vocals and his exclamation, "We the main soooource!" Multifaceted newcomer Obii Say - Chuck's current favorite rapper - appears on two songs ("Everyday" and "Miracle Miles") and produces a third. The list of contributing producers is a who's who of underground sound scientists, including The Alchemist, Animoss, Theravada, Kenny Segal, Preservation, Child Actor, and Morriarchi. And while... King's Hand is in some ways a sample of what this section of the underground looks like in 2026, what Chuck brings to the table is uniquely Chuck Strangers. "I had to do my own thing!" His resolve is in part due to the influence of his legendary mentors, like the late Ka and The Alchemist, who each carved out their own distinct lanes. "There's a lot of Roc Marci's, there's a lot of Earl Sweatshirts and you've got many Alchemists out here, but I have to do my own thing that might look a little different from everybody else's shit... I can just be myself."

Future Development is Del the Funky Homosapien’s third album and, following his departure from major label Elektra, his first solo full-length for his independent label, Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings. Originally released on cassette in 1997, and later reissued on CD and vinyl in 2002, the album largely relied on in-house production from Del along with contributions from Hiero crew members A-Plus, Opio, and Toure. The only guest feature on the album is from crew member Casual, who joins Del on the energetic “Checking Out The Rivalry.” Sonically, Future Development bridges the funk-heavy stylings of Del’s debut with the darker, more futuristic textures he explored on No Need for Alarm. Lyrically, Del refines his rapid-fire wordplay with sharper thematic focus, tackling life in Oakland, societal observations and hip-hop culture, all with a blend of humor, streetwise insight, and multi-syllabic dexterity. Ultimately, the album captures a snapshot of his progression from raw talent to a more conceptually matured songwriter. It remains a significant and under-appreciated chapter in Del’s evolution, showcasing early seeds of the creativity and independence that would come to define much of his career thereafter.

Originally released in 2009 on Fat Beats Records, Enter the 37th Chamber transformed iconic Wu-Tang Clan songs into gritty, fully live instrumentals inspired by the cinematic production style of RZA. What began as an experimental tribute quickly became a worldwide cult classic embraced by DJs, record collectors, hip-hop fans, and members of Wu-Tang themselves. After hearing the project, RZA famously said: “This is American music right here.”Led by saxophonist/organist Leon Michels and producer/engineer Jeff Silverman, El Michels Affair blends vintage soundtrack music, early reggae, and raw analog soul into what the group calls “Cinematic Soul.”Over the years, the album has taken on a life of its own, heard everywhere from independent record shops and radio stations to restaurants, film sets, and even theme parks across multiple continents. Nearly two decades later, Enter the 37th Chamber remains one of the defining releases in the Fat Beats catalog and a landmark recording in instrumental hip-hop and cinematic soul. The vinyl features an embossed jacket with spot gloss on upgraded weight paper stock and a special color variant.

The OG of prairie folk rap returns with Heater In My Truck II, an album that is a sequel in both name and spirit to his vinyl-only album from 2003. Epic proves here that he is a master at manifesting the mundane through music, touching on such exciting topics as his "Old Shit Out in the Garage," putting a "Survey in a Box," and the beautiful "Wallpaper," all done with a mix of earnest honesty and humble humour. He also honours the roots of hip hop with songs like "Lethal Test Pressings" and "Cassettes," along with plenty of references to hip hop history matched in number only by his references to Canadiana. You can tell these are two things close to his heart. Unlike his last two albums, Heater In My Truck II taps the talents of multiple producers, such as Moka Only, Moves, Maki, Aries, Gods & Nmbrs, and more, but the album is purposefully curated to create a jazzy, chill vibe with enough upbeat bops to get the toes tapping along with the head nodding. Recorded alongside the darker, heavier, and more experimental A Library Called Calder, Heater II is more emo folk rap than that album or even Nassau Manor. And to provide a little more vocal variety, Epic calls on the lyrical prowess of his friends Noah23, Emprime, Inky, Aries, and newcomer 33, who all add their own unique touch to the proceedings. Yet another choice addition to the legacy of late-era Epic.

When Belfast's KNEECAP - aka Mo Chara, Moglaà Bap and DJ Provaà - entered the studio with producer Toddla T in the summer of 2023, they quickly decided to scrap everything they had already prepared and 'build' a pub together. The Rutz is currently a figment of their imagination, but across Fine Art's twelve tracks, and the interconnecting moments between them, it comes to life vividly, providing the perfect backdrop for the cast of characters that appear throughout. Like the band themselves, Fine Art is fiercely intelligent, consistently hilarious, and genuinely thought provoking. It seamlessly merges Irish with English and satire with socially conscious lyrics. It's genius is to immerse you in a world thus far unrepresented in modern music. The group also recently took this year's Sundance Film Festival by storm with their self-titled Rich Peppiatt directed semi-biopic film starring Michael Fassbender.

Ice Blue Vinyl. DMV-born rapper and producer kuru is already a veteran among their contemporaries. Spurred by the online renaissance that accompanied the pandemic, they began to foster a cult following while in high school, their Soundcloud releases leading to production work with artists such as Black Kray and Destroy Lonely. Over the past few years, as Kuru began to prioritize their own voice, they prioritized their solo endeavors. Growing up in Maryland, kuru was inspired as much by the work of Future, Hikaru Utada, Yuyoyuppe, and the sounds of Japanese math rock as he was by his native DMV's rap scene. He first began making music in 2019, garnering buzz with early tracks like "clueless", "typo" (4M Streams), and "atmosphere" (9M+ Streams) - cuts brimming with the catchiness you'd expect out of a mainstream pop hit, but uncharacteristic of the internet rap landscape at the time. The forthcoming sophomore album is a summation of all of kuru's work in both electronic and hip-hop. It's the artist's most focused effort to date, and touts credits from Lucy Bedroque, frequent collaborator xaviersobased, and a rolodex of Soundcloud's most cutting-edge producers. "Backstage Hologram" ties together a mosaic of the current internet underground's landscape with a veneer of dusky futurism, and panoramic wide post-production.

Billie Holiday is my muse. Her creative vision and stylistic integrity have influenced both my music and my writing. When I decided to work on this project, I wanted to approach it with respect to her music. Mighty Theodore and The Custodian Of Records have crafted the quintessential soundtrack for the bleakest of snow days with their new collaborative album, "The Colder It Gets". Bookended by the sound of howling winds, the project offers a hypnotic listening experience where the temperature seems to drop with every track. While the production is immersive, the only warmth to be found radiates from the crackle of Custodian’s vinyl samples. Theodore matches this atmosphere with layered lyricism that explores deep isolation and the struggle to trust that things can improve, though a faint sense of hope remains buried beneath the metaphorical drifts.Releasing via URBNET this winter, the album invites listeners to bundle up and embrace the chill. The project is bolstered by an impressive lineup of guest features, including Lee Scott, Fat Ray, Thirstin' Howl The 3rd, and Farma G. Additionally, the release includes a thematic bonus track titled "Christmas Missed Us" featuring Von Pea. As the winter solstice arrives, prepare to get lost in a hip-hop experience that proves the music only gets better The Colder It Gets.
