Acclaimed New Orleans–based ensemble Nolatet returns with their third album, Somethin’ To Relax With, arriving in April 2026 via RPF Records/Royal Potato Family. The group reunites the legendary Crescent City rhythm section of bassist James Singleton and drummer Johnny Vidacovich alongside two of the city’s most highly regarded and fearless improvisers: vibraphonist/percussionist Mike Dillon and pianist Brian Haas. Nolatet’s first new music since 2016’s No Revenge Necessary, the quartet recorded Somethin’ To Relax With live at The Lowdown in Tulsa over two sold-out shows in 2025. Previously praised by JazzTimes for their “mix of quirky melodies, classically informed harmonies, gentle grooves, and punk-rock moxie” and hailed by DownBeat as “innovative in its improvisations and graceful in its execution,” Nolatet once again rises to such accolades across six new compositions, including highlights “Switchback,” “Surely Hazard” and “Black Pencil,” that balance an earthy jazz finesse with swaggering syncopation. “Musically speaking, the Nolatet is limitless. The music ebbs and flows effortlessly, like rebirthing an amoeba,” says Dillon. “We have one of the all-time great New Orleans rhythm sections in Johnny V. and James. Like any great rhythm section, they make you find parts of yourself that you never knew existed. With that as our foundation, there’s no telling how far the music can expand with each performance.”

Vinyl LP pressing. When Oscar Peterson arrived for a two-week engagement at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit in early August 1960, the pianist's year-old trio, featuring bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen, was ascending to new artistic peaks. Intended at the time as a live album for Verve but never released, the music on 'At Baker's Keyboard Lounge' features remarkable, previously unissued performances, all taped on a single Friday night. No matter the tempo, rhythm, or complexity of the arrangement, the three players breathe as one on these recordings, phrasing as if controlled by a single heartbeat. These new-to-the-world recordings, made in Peterson's prime at the longest continuously operating jazz club in the US, remind you that there will never be anyone else like Oscar Peterson.

PORTRAITS OF CUBA reflects the musical odyssey of Paquito D'Rivera, a unique blend of Cuban and Jazz music that re-affirms both the artist's Cuban roots and his love for the American art form. Far beyond the realm of popular music, it is a jazz musicians's tribute to the enduring legacy of Cuba, beautifully orchestrated by arranger and conductor Carlos Franzetti and impeccably performed by Mr. D'Rivera and eighteen seasoned musicians, each with a proven track record of excellence. PORTRAITS OF CUBA was recorded live without overdubbing at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in New York City over a two day period in February of 1996, using a single, high resolution microphone set-up, capturing the beautiful and natural reverberation of the old church. As Producer David Chesky explained in 2025: "At Chesky, the goal for me was to make the best-sounding recordings we could. It was about pursuing the perfect sound." The selections encompass almost ten decades of Cuban music and are set to be reissued on SACD Hybrid Stereo and 180g One Step Pressing Vinyl LP.

Emeralds, the sophomore long player from Parlor Greens, finds the trio serving up a beautifully curated sampler of what funky organ music can be. Three true masters of their respective crafts: Tim Carman (formerly of GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves, formerly of Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ. Seasoned and soulful pros coming together to make infectiously funky instrumental jams. Parlor Greens are truly in top form: tour tight and more confident than ever in who they are and where they're going. The album's opener, "Eat Your Greens," kicks the doors off with a Charles Earland-inspired four on the floor beat, with Jimmy and Scone driving the tune down the tracks like an overloaded freight train, it simply cannot be stopped. "Lion's Mane" shows a slightly more sophisticated side of the trio, with nods to one of Scone's organ mentors, the incomparable Dr. Lonnie Smith. Not to be outdone by his bandmates, Tim Carman shows off why he plays the best shuffle this side of the Mississippi on "Letter To Brother Ben," a gospel-tinged shuffler. And while the results are stronger than ever, the mood of this second cooking session was much different. The first time these three met in Loveland at Colemine's Portage Lounge studio was marked by a certain freshness. It was new, it was the first time they had all played together. It was exciting, it was unknown territory. The session for Emeralds weighed much heavier on all three members. All three dealing with personal tragedies in their individual lives, the session truly served as a genuine moment of joy for the group. Just three talented musicians, writing and playing music now as friends in a familiar environment. No moment is the weight of the session more obvious than with the album's closer, "Queen Of My Heart," a tune Jimmy wrote for his mother shortly after she passed away. So with a heavy and soulful heart, Colemine Records is beyond proud to present the sophomore effort from three maestros. Parlor Greens presents... Emeralds

From singer/songwriter Paul Kahn comes Willingness, a six-song EP that is as much a musical memoir as it is a record. Written and demoed over decades, these deeply personal originals found their moment when Kahn's longtime friend Catherine Russell - one of jazz and roots music's most celebrated vocalists - heard them and insisted they be recorded. Russell produces and performs throughout, contributing backing vocals, mandolin, keyboard, and arrangements alongside her longtime musical director Matt Munisteri (guitars), Saturday Night Live house band drummer Shawn Pelton, and first-call bassist Russell Hall. Special guests include Ben Rosenblum (accordion), Sara Caswell (Hardanger fiddle), Glenn Patscha (Hammond C3), and Veronica Dye (flute). Drawing on Americana, bluegrass, jazz, and roots music, Willingness is warm, direct, and fully alive - a songwriter's album in the best sense of the word. Fans of Mose Allison, Dave Frishberg, and the roots-informed vocal jazz of Catherine Russell will find much to love here.

At the crossroads of intimate jazz and the dreamlike universe of David Lynch, Pearls deliver an album that is far more than a meeting point: it is a manifesto. In Praise of Slowness is their credo. In a world spinning out of control, they sculpt music of rare purity, where silence and space become raw materials. Every note is finely carved, every emotion restrained so it can resonate more deeply. This is a quest for the essential.Sponsored by Henri Texier, the album is an experience - a sensory immersion where emotion is born from slowness.Listening to Pearls means allowing time to stretch, and discovering that true beauty arises not from immediacy, but from depth.

Duo Concert Frankfurt 1986, was recorded live in Germany on February 15th. The album captures tenor icon Pharoah Sanders and celebrated pianist John Hicks in a moment of profound musical harmony. Sanders, known for his evolution from fierce free-jazz to deeply lyrical spiritualist, plays here with warmth, focus and emotional clarity. Hicks meets him with luminous touch, rich voicings and an intuitive sense of space that elevates every phrase. Together they deliver a beautifully balanced set of Coltrane classics "Giant Steps", "Central Park West", original compositions such as "Heart To Heart" and more timeless standards. From the serene glow of "After the Rain" to the understated spiritual power of "The Creator Has A Master Plan/Thembi", the duo moves effortlessly between tenderness, swing and transcendence. Their interplay feels almost telepathic, two distinct voices merging into one shared musical vision. This first-ever vinyl release of the legendary Duo Concert Frankfurt 1986 is a spiritual partnership. The double album is available now and includes new liner-notes by jazz journalist Bret Primack. Affixed on the protective sleeve is the 50th Anniversary Timeless Jazz sticker. UPC: 8719262044432Label: Music On VinylRelease Date: 6.26.26Format: Vinyl
Uno Loop presents the first-ever licensed reissue of Phil Yost's 'Bent City' (1967), a rare Takoma Records title and a landmark of jazz-folk-psych experimentation. Long out of print, 'Bent City' has gained strong early support with airplay on BBC Radio, Worldwide FM, KCRW, and WFMU, alongside praise from Bandcamp Daily and Aquarium Drunkard. Yost's cult following - particularly within spiritual jazz, American Primitive, and experimental ambient and folk communities - positions this reissue as a high-interest archival title with strong cross-genre appeal. This edition is fully authorized by the Phil Yost Estate and Concord Records and pressed in a limited run, packaged with an 8-page archival booklet featuring previously unseen photographs, biographical notes, and original research on the enigmatic Bay Area musician. 'Bent City' is the first release in a broader, multi-title restoration of Yost's catalog, with three additional albums to follow (at minimum), including 'Fog-Hat Ramble' (1968), 'Touchwood's Dream' (1970), and Yost's unreleased 'Sunflower Sojourn'. With growing press attention, renewed visibility among collectors, and it's unique place in Takoma and outsider jazz-adjacent history, 'Bent City' is a standout for those interested in jazz, experimental, ambient, and private-press reissues.________________________________________'Long before 'ambient jazz' had a name, Yost quietly created one of the genre's most distinctive works. At a time when spiritual jazz was finding it's voice in the towering figures of Coltrane and Sanders, 'Bent City' took a different path by turning inward. Rather than trying to summon the cosmos or channel divinity, it tunes into sounds far more ephemeral and terrestrial: birdsong, distant clatter, and vocalizations evoking the feeling of being lost in a city on an empty, hazy night.' Julianne Wilson - Bandcamp ________________________________________'Bent City' is a spectral album unfolding a multi-tracked mirror house of sonic fantasias, with each wondrously bizarre corridor becoming an entire dimension unto itself. It's a mesmerizing work of 'sound-on-sound' composition, Yost's intricate method of weaving home-recorded tape loops together, which allowed him a canvas for improvisation a la Sandy Bull, using 'various combinations of soprano saxophone, flute, electric guitar, bass, maracas and tambourine.' Afro-Disco Makossa is the first Linear Labs album built for the dance floor, and Adrian Younge is uniquely qualified to make it. Having already recorded modern Afrobeat classics with Tony Allen and Ebo Taylor through Jazz Is Dead, Younge asks a new question: what would a Ghanaian producer in '76 have made if he set out to create an American disco record for his hometown? The result is a relentless, hypnotic patchwork of Afrobeat, funk, and disco recorded to tape, built for the DJ of any era.

Andy Bey was one of the most sought-after vocalists in the era of jazz fusion. Between 1968 and 1973 he was first choice as a studio singer for Max Roach, Duke Pearson, Horace Silver, Gary Bartz and Stanley Clarke, to mention but a few. His warm and engaging baritone voice easily crossed the bridge from conventional blues and gospel to a pugnacious, politicising style of soul - Andy Bey was 'spiritual' in every sense of the word. ""Experience And Judgment"", his debut album under his own name, was recorded in New York in 1973 and quickly became a cult album. Bey delivers twelve songs in single length, which are full of relaxed, funky grooves, soulful and electrifying, and quite lacking in gimmickry - in many of them a blues number is lurking in the background as a basic idea. His most important colleagues are Wilbur Bascomb, who let's his electric slap bass really thump out, and Bill Fischer who joins in on an electric piano, synthesizer and various other keyboards and really sets off a little fusion firework display. The most powerful numbers come from Andy Bey himself, such as ""Experience"", ""Judgment"", ""Celestial Blues"", ""Tune Up"" and ""Being Uptight"" - often powering forwards with a vengeance. Bill Fischer - at that time Artistic Director at Atlantic Records - added a few soul ballads to balance out the LP. This album inspired numerous jazz singers, including Gregory Porter. Jamie Cullum says: ""What I love about Andy Bey is that he creates an atmosphere. As soon as he opens his mouth, you're transported to another place.
