Hailing from Ukiah, California, the members of AFI (A Fire Inside) met in high school. After some line-up changes early on, the band has featured members Jade Puget, Hunter Burgan, and original co-founders Davey Havok and Adam Carson since 1998. Stomping onto the hardcore scene, AFI's early albums are now essential listening for any fan of punk and alternative music.Track List

Black & White Marbled Vinyl / Insightful liner notes. CHARLY RECORDS present the first ever reissue of the sought-after, cult, New York, gospel street opera, Free The Black Man's Chains. The most intriguing, and certainly the most ambitious project on the city's GSF label (see more stunning titles on GSF exclusively from Charly). The project had it's roots in a trio of singles released by the mysterious Broad Street Gang in 1971. The first, on the Cougar label called "Fair Skin Man" and it's two follow-ups "L-o-v-e Love" and the title track from the album "Free The Black Man's Chains". Celebrated musicians on the sessions were Mitchell Rowe, Bobby Eli, Len Pakula, Daryl Hall, Ron Baker, Norman Harris, The Raelettes and strings arranged by Richie Rome. A project like Free The Black Man's Chains should have been perfect for the multi-media nature of GSF. The album could have led to a film in the way that it had for Jesus Christ Superstar, but instead like so many of the label's releases, the album failed to make it's mark due to a lack of promotion. GSF would barely reach it's second birthday before it - and it's parent company - shut down. A Black OperaTrack List

AHMAD JAMAL - AWAKENING (VERVE BY REQUEST SERIES) By 1970, pianist Ahmad Jamal's style had changed a bit since the 1950s, becoming denser and more adventurous while still retaining his musical identity and signature elegance. Jamal's trio - bassist Jamil Nasser (whose double-timing lines are sometimes furious) and drummer Frank Gant - deliver intriguing performances, showing that Jamal was continuing to evolve. Verve By Request Series features transfers from the analog tapes remastered on 180-gram vinyl.Track List

Limited vinyl LP pressing. 1998 debut album from the French postmodernist duo. Air raid every aspect of retro pop music, from the sublime to the ridiculous, in fashioning their sonic bricolage. Everything from Krautrock-inspired electronics to 1960s lounge music is incorporated into the work of Nicolas Godin and J.B. Dunckel. Moon Safari earned massive critical plaudits and put the duo at the forefront of modern, electronic-oriented pop. All tracks were penned by the duo with two tracks – “All I Need” and “You Make It Easy” – featuring lyrics penned by Beth Hirsch and addition input from Patrick Woodcock on ‘Ce Matin La’ and Jean-Jacques Perrey on ‘Remember’.Track List
