How do we sit in the unrest of the world without jumping to conclusions on how to fix it?That is one of the themes behind Amy Grant's new single and opening track, “The 6th Of January (Yasgur’s Farm)” from her upcoming album The Me That Remains. While the title could indicate a stance on the political spectrum, it is quite the opposite. The song asks the question, haven't we all lost our way? With references to the idealistic era of Woodstock and the hope for something better, the song is more of a question than a commentary. Says Amy, “We operate in the world around us and sometimes neglect the power of what we have in our choices and how those choices affect the world around us”.Sonically, the song is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, yet the lyric and message is timeless.“I want to be present for what emerges in my time”, says Amy,“ and the song observes life and the unrest many of us feel yet knowing we areshaping the world around us daily. Maybe life and problem solving is more of ‘we’ than ‘me’”.The song’s lyrics point to the fact that all of us still have a ways to go in solving the unrest but you have to sit in it, see another’s lens of how they perceive the world, and know that we are stronger as ‘we’.With references to Woodstock, Harper’s Ferry and John Lennon, the song invokes a conversation that all is not lost, but if we can choose to look through a lens other than just our own, maybe there is hope to come together and find the way forward through the unrest.

Limited edition vinyl LP pressing of the uber-successful sophomore album from this UK vocalist. Although her 2003 debut was a success, her rowdy offstage behavior became the focus of tabloids and critics instead of the music. Because of this, Winehouse stepped out of the spotlight and concentrated on putting the focus back on her music. Three years later, her sophomore release surprised critics and excited her fan base. Combining a strong, Jazzy vocal style with often frank lyrical content recounting tales of love and loss, Winehouse is a truly talented songwriter with a good ear for melody, making this album an essential purchase. Years before Amy Winehouse garnered international attention with Back To Black, the sassy British Soul singer put herself on the U.K. music map with her 2003 debut, Frank. Nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, the record glides along on the subtly jazzy production of Salaam Remi, which allows Winehouse's expressive voice to shine, particularly on the Trip-Hop-tinged "Stronger Than Me," the powerful "You Sent Me Flying," and the sultry "I Heard Love Is Blind." Now available on picture disc vinyl.Track List

Following her tragic passing in July, some of the producers and musicians who worked closely wit Amy Winehouse, among them Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, spent time listening over the many recordings that Amy had made FRANK and BACK TO BLACK. It was said by all who worked with Amy that never sang or played a song the same way twice. It quickly became apparent to Salaam and Mark that they had a collection of songs that deserved to be heard, a collection of songs that were a fitting testament to Amy the artists and as importantly, Amy their friend. LIONESS: HIDDEN TREASURES, the third album from Amy Winehouse, is a 12-track collection of previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions of existing classics, as well as a couple of brand new compositions.

"I've got plenty of energy, it's my currency" sings Amy Taylor on the opening track of Comfort To Me, the latest from Amyl and The Sniffers. Ten years ago, in a sharehouse on Chapel Street, four 20-year-olds with zero expectations wrote and recorded an EP in a single afternoon. Those six blistering minutes of music became Giddy Up. An hour later, Amyl and The Sniffers had a name, a Bandcamp upload, and the beginnings of a legacy. Following a year of backyard gigs, playing for friends and partying across Melbourne's sticky carpet music scene, the band released their iconic second EP Big Attraction in 2017. Now, to celebrate a decade of raw power and reckless spirit, Giddy Up/Big Attraction returns in a definitive 10th anniversary 12-inch vinyl edition - fully remastered for maximum punch. Featuring early classics like "I'm Not A Loser" and "Stole My Pushbike," plus enduring live favourites "Balaclava Lover Boogie" and "Westgate," this is the sound of Amyl and The Sniffers before the world caught up - feral, funny, and unstoppable. The LP is housed in a gatefold sleeve showcasing Chris Sutherland's iconic 2017 band photo, alongside an exclusive new essay from Amy Taylor and a heap of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes shots from the band's earliest days by Jamie Wdziekonski. As Amy recalls: "We recorded and wrote over the afternoon... we'd never played together before that day... it's spontaneous, and fun and achievable in that time because to us it sounded more than good and we weren't perfectionists and it didn't matter." From DIY house shows in Melbourne to international stages, it all started here.

Amyl and The Sniffers are a grimy pub rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The band take their cues from a diverse mix of hard rock, Aussie punk, and country. They set out to have as much fun as possible and scared up a whole lot of fans along the way. AATS were brought to ATO’s attention when they opened for King Gizzard. The Sniffers have since been selling out headlining dates in the US and have sold through three pressings of their "Some Mutts" single. Their full-length album releases 5/24.

I wanted to travel / Home into somewhere," Ana Roxanne breathes across an eerie suspended drone on "The Age of Innocence". "I wanted to try / And go very far." These are the first words we hear on Poem 1 and reintroduce an artist who's in a conspicuously different phase of her life than she was when her debut album, Because of a Flower, sprouted nearly six years ago. Heartbroken and reflective, Roxanne surveys the transformations that followed and displays a new-found boldness. Her voice is naked, vulnerable and alive, no longer shrouded in tape noise or looped and echoed beyond recognition beneath layered electroacoustic textures. Throughout the course of Poem 1, Roxanne displays her skill as a singer and songwriter in the classic sense, using the limited instrumentation simply to accent her exposed tones. Muted piano phrases and plucked bass notes languidly trail her anguished siren song on "Berceuse in A-flat Minor, Op. 45", making each word count. On "Keepsake" meanwhile, she sounds as if she's alone in an abandoned bar, stroking the dust off the piano's keys as she inventories her emotional scars. There's a smell of old whisky in the air, but Poem 1 is a remarkably sober album; never wallowing in self pity, Roxanne finds catharsis in the logic of her expressions, twisting out the edges of her memories into surreal, cinematic asides. "Untitled II", the album's pronounced, uninhibited centerpiece, delivers on the Lynchian promise that's been present since her first EP, 2019's ---. "[I] always picked the slowest, saddest songs in the entire repertoire," she explained to them in 2021, recounting her teenage dream of being a jazz singer. "I would arrange them in a way that was just really slow and quiet, that was always just my vibe." Purring over a brushy, decelerated rhythm and funereal piano, Roxanne glances the edge of a hot spotlight, cutting through the stage smoke with her glassy evocations. And when she interprets the Robert Schumann's lied "Stille Tränen" on "One Shall Sleep", she turns Justinus Kerner's words into a whispered echo of her own grief, narrating the 19th century poem over syrupy synthesizers and strings. There's a light emerging on the horizon, though; burying her past on the choral standout "Cover Me", Roxanne shifts the pace and the mood on "Atonement", lifting her voice into a gentle lilt. "Running alone," she concedes at last. "Running forward and looking ahead / With a long road to go.

Purring over a brushy, decelerated rhythm and funereal piano, Roxanne glances the edge of a hot spotlight, cutting through the stage smoke with her glassy evocations.

Aside from being one of Anamanaguchi's most streamed songs, "Miku," featuring the vocaloid pop star Hatsune Miku, is an anthem for a new type of musical icon, one that doesn't need to be attached to a physical human body. Miku, which was officially released in 2013, is a Vocaloid software voicebank developed by Crypton Future Media. Her voice is based around Japanese actress Saki Fujita and uses Yamaha Corporation's Vocaloid 2, Vocaloid 3, and Vocaloid 4 singing synthesizing technologies. Anamanaguchi wrote "Miku" with the virtual musician and were the first band to perform live alongside the Hatsune Miku hologram on the Miku Expo tour in 2016. Since then, the song has been streamed tens of millions of times around the globe and given way to several viral TikTok moments with 20K+ unique videos, signature dance moves, and millions of views.
Consistently engaging their audience in both the real world and the virtual internet-sphere, Anamanaguchi has had TV performances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Adult Swim's Fish Center, multiple appearances at Porter Robinson's Secret Sky Fest, and co-curated one of the first major live stream events for indie musicians with the Nether Meant Festival, which was featured in the New York Times and The Washington Post. The band has also continued to stay true to a uniquely cohesive collaborative spirit, sharing tracks with artists such as HANA, Planet 1999, Flux Pavilion, Porter Robinson, Dorian Electra, Pussy Riot, Village People, and POCHI.
For 2022, Polyvinyl is proud to announce the release of Miku on vinyl for the first time. The release will feature the original composition as well as 8 bonus versions of the song including remixes from LLLL, Carpainter, Ben Aqua, Mino Mino, Lazerdisk, as well as an NES version, a Japanese version, and an instrumental version.Track List

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is an anime streaming television series developed by Bryan Lee O'Malley and Ben David Grabinski for Netflix. The series is based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels written and drawn by O'Malley, with the entire main cast from the 2010 film adaptation, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, reprising their roles for the English voice cast, and serves as both a sequel and re-imagining of the graphic novel and film. The series was released on November 17, 2023 to critical acclaim.
Unlike the film adaptation, which largely told the same story as the comics, Takes Off features a completely separate plot, with the titular Scott Pilgrim disappearing in the first episode, and Ramona Flowers, his love interest, taking the center stage, as she tries to find out who among the cast was responsible for his disappearance, all whilst other characters within the story work on a fictional adaption of Scott's life.

ANATHEMA / PENTECOST III VINYL LPAnathema formed in Liverpool in 1990, initially under the name of Pagan Angel & grew from a heavy doom/death metal style act into a more progressive & melodic group, blending rock elements with strong atmospherics inspired by classic acts such as Pink Floyd & Radiohead. The band signed with Peaceville Records after recording the `All Faith Is Lost' demo in 1991 & is known for being part of the hallowed Peaceville doom metal trinity in the early 1990's (alongside fellow UK bands Paradise Lost & My Dying Bride), with some highly influential releases in the early part of their long, esteemed career.`Pentecost III' was released in early 1995 & was recorded at the infamous Academy Studios in Yorkshire UK (My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost). 'Pentecost III' featured classic heavy & often hypnotic doom metal, as well as a reworking/rerecording of the `Memento Mori' track from the `Iliad Of Woes' demo. This was the last release which original vocalist Darren White appeared on, before leaving the band to form "The Blood Divine" with various members of the original "Cradle Of Filth" line up.This 30th anniversary edition of `Pentecost III' contains newly remastered audio courtesy of Jaime Gomez at Orgone Studios.ANATHEMA 'PENTECOST III' LP

Ten years ago, Anderson.Paak didn't just release an album; he staged a full-scale takeover of the soul and hip-hop landscape. Released on January 15, 2016, Malibu served as the definitive arrival of an artist who had spent years grinding in the underground before a star-making turn on Dr. Dre's Compton. While his previous work hinted at his potential, Malibu was the moment the world met the "Cheeky Andy" persona in full-a virtuosic drummer, a raspy-voiced crooner, and a sharp-witted rapper all rolled into one. The album is a sprawling, sun-drenched journey through the Southern California coast, blending 1970s funk, church-reared gospel, and gritty boom-bap into something that feels both nostalgic and entirely futuristic. With a heavyweight production lineup including 9th Wonder, Madlib, Kaytranada, and Hi-Tek, the record maintains a warm, analog texture that was a breath of fresh air in an increasingly digital era. It's an album that breathes, full of intentional imperfections and the kind of "in-the-pocket" groove that can only come from a seasoned live performer. Beyond the infectious, dance-floor-ready energy of tracks like "Am I Wrong" and "Come Down, " the album is a deeply autobiographical masterwork.Paak uses the 65-minute runtime to unpack his life story with startling clarity, touching on his mother's gambling addiction, his father's incarceration, and his own brushes with homelessness with a sense of resilience that never feels heavy-handed. He weaves these heavy themes through a lens of triumph, grounded by vintage surfing documentary samples that give the project it's cinematic, coastal atmosphere. It's a celebratory record born out of struggle, anchored by his impeccable technicality on the drums and a guest list-featuring ScHoolboy Q, Rapsody, and The Game-that feels hand-picked to complement his specific brand of West Coast swagger. A decade later, Malibu stands as a modern classic and the blueprint for the soulful revivalism that would eventually lead.Paak to global superstardom and Grammy-winning heights. It remains a testament to the idea that the most profound music often comes from the most personal places, proving ten years on that the best way to move forward is to stay rooted in the groove. 10 Year Anniversary 2xLP, Pop-Up Gatefold Jacket, pressed on Tangerine, Olive Green and Brown 3 Color A Side B Side Vinyl.
