'Bring Down the Walls' was a nod to Raze's 'Break for Love', Robert Owens' 'Bring Down the Walls', and Ritchie Hawtin's use of the Roland 606 throughout 'Sheet One.' We gave the tune a Californian psychedelic twist with conga laden drums, a moody synth, low pulsing 303 patterns + Benjamin Zephaniah's patois call to 'Move the Body Rhythmwize!'The first PCH releases had dropped Worldwide to International acclaim from DJ's far and wide across the Globe with support in London, Paris & New York. However the local scene here in L.A that preached 'Love, inclusion & Unity' was anything but that. L.A at that time was very tribal & divided up into 3 camps. If you weren't affiliated with any of them (aka independent) then you were pretty much locked out of getting any kind of gig support or the Dj's from those camps actually playing the music. The local feedback from Dj's was that what we were making wasn't 'house,' but 'Techno' which was absurd to me. 'Bring Down the Walls' was a mantra to 'move the body' and in doing so 'bring down the walls' of separation not just in L.A but throughout society in general. Thank goodness for support from people like Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, DJ Deep, & Philly Stalwart King Britt. After years of copies going for upward of $100+ on Discogs the now freshly remastered copies by At Jazz's Martin Iveson are finally hitting the platters in 2026.Jesse Outlaw 'Let It Go'. I met Jesse at Beatnonstop Records on Melrose Ave with Miguel Placencia in the late 90's. Miguel (RIP) was a mainstay in the Underground scene and had always been very supportive of my endeavors. He had had success with a huge release on Yellow Orange and was working with Jesse under the moniker 'When Worlds Collide.' I signed 'Brighter Days' & 'Set you Free' from them and released the tracks on my Seductive imprint. They told me that they were making the tracks on a Sony Playstation 'Music Now' program and I was like FFS 'What's more Underground than that!?' Later Jesse gave me some of his solo work. The track 'Let it Go' was never mastered & only ever cut to Dub-plate and featured on my 1st PCH mix 'Pacific Coast House Sounds.' It has now been mastered by Martin Iveson and is available in all it's glory. The dreamy vocal 'You need to let it go' beckons over the top of driving percussive Latin beats and church organ which is a great compliment to the flip side of 'Bring down the Walls.' All in all two West Coast stompers now finally available remastered on PCH in Orange vinyl.Tracklisting:A. The Coastal Commission - Bring Down The WallsB. Le Conversation was a French bakery located right across the street from the old PCH studio "The Hall of Records", situated at the end of Melrose Avenue on the edge of Hollywood. I had relocated from the Sunny shores of Carpinteria and brought all the gear with me right on the edge of Hollyweird. Often times you would find me stumbling over there on a Saturday & Sunday at the break of day, blood shocked eyes and whiskey on my breath for a fresh coffee and chocolate eclair after an all-night sesh making beats.Around that time we had started working on Drum & Bass tunes for my label CRIMESCENE and were experimenting with different techniques. One weekend I was hosting Goldie's old producer and Moving Shadow label boss Rob Playford alongside MC Jakes, EZ Rollers and Calyx for a festival just outside of LA. After taking them for breakfast at Le Conversation we all piled over to mine for a smoke and Rob gave me some tips on making Growly Basslines. That next week we got to work. During the process we watched Gene Hackman in "The Conversation" about a crazy spy setting up microphones outdoors to entrap a bad guy and also caught Optical Dj'ing with Ed Rush up the street at Johnny Depp's Viper Room. After an all-night sesh of "Soul Caliber" Matt & Ben gave us some pointers & not long after "The Conversation" was born.An overdriven Bassline, Dubbed out bleeps sampled from a New Zealand crosswalk layered thru Space echoes and old Roland Delays gave the track an otherworldly feel. The 303 chugs along breaking down into haunting Zulu choruses while the bleeps roll in and out and the track growls like you're drifting through space. Definitely a late night affair. Originally on the Beat Nonstop label and fetching a pretty penny on Discogs, we've brought it back on Pacific Coast House remastered by the Mighty Martin Iveson. Enjoy.Boing "Currency"Finally this one has been unearthed. Boing, originating from Argentina, blessed us with this & it was a secret weapon of DJ Doc Martin for years. I paired it with "The Conversation" on this slab of wax as it too has an otherworldly feel of dancing in outer space. The B-line is absolutely massive on a rig and the wiggly bleeps keep splashing in & out before the monster synth line comes in and lifts you up to the rafters. Word has it the Wiggle boys hammered this alongside Swag lad Grant Dell. This was only available on 10 white labels prior to getting this full release.Tracklisting:A. The Coastal Commission "On the Rocks": Atmospheric synths with a deep rolling dubby bassline beckon you to the dancefloor. The staccato 606 drum machine snare hits snap over the track before a monster kick drum comes thumping out of the speakers. "On the Rocks" has served as a killer intro track by many international DJ's including Grant Dell who recently opened with it in Los Angeles for "Sunday Sessions". A big tune in South America and in particular in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it serves as a great mood builder for DJ's looking to captivate their audience right off the bat. The Coastal Commission literally tuned the Arp Odyssey Bassline to shake down the walls, ceiling and floor while making this track.Always a massive fan of Night Writers (RIP) "Push the Feeling On", Sam read an interview where they revealed that they wrote the B-line using a Sequencial Circuits "Arp Odyssey" and that sent him on a mission to track one down. He eventually found one covered in dust in the back of a thrift shop in Santa Barbara for $50! (They now go for bout 3K). Excitedly Sam rushed it home to the studio to clean it up & after some playing around the Bassline was found and the other elements were built around that. The track finally breaks down to a beautiful jazz trumpet with muffled voices conversing in the background saying "Yeah that was Funky!", releasing the tension before building the strings back up with the vocal "Come on" commanding you to keep dancing."On the Rocks" is hailed as a modern deep house classic by fans and definitely one that will stay in your record box. Jesse Outlaw feat. Jason Harris "I'm Underground": Jesse pens another hypnotic slab of awesome West Coast dance floor tech funk alongside Jason's Harris on vocals. Jason weaves his story of underground living in the Los Angeles scene over a pounding kick drum and scattered percussion. The haunting keys keep the listener locked in as the dub bassline throbs beneath the track. As the tune proceeds it hypnotizes you & carry's you off into a dank basement groove. Only ever on dubplate & used on the second PCH "Summer Sessions" mix CD, this track finally gets a full release and is remastered by Martin Iveson. Classic PCH Business. Fueled By Ramen is continuing its FBR25 25th anniversary celebration with a reissue of Cobra Starship’s newly RIAA Gold certified third album, HOT MESS, which will be joined by two “Tracks to the Future” – a pair of long lost songs from the band’s personal archive, including the previously unreleased “Beautiful Life,” produced by Oh, Hush! (Weezer, Jason Derulo) and Seann Bowe (Wiz Khalifa, All That Remains, Ty Dolla $ign). The track is accompanied by an official music video. HOT MESS arrives on limited edition silver vinyl on Friday, December 17th.Produced by Cobra Starship with additional production from Kevin Rudolf (Lil’ Wayne, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West), Mike Caren (Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Jason Derulo), and others, HOT MESS made a spectacular chart debut upon its original 2009 release, debuting in the top 5 on the overall Billboard 200 – the band’s best-ever chart performance. The album includes such pop breakthroughs as the RIAA gold certified “Hot Mess” and the 2x platinum certified smash, “Good Girls Go Bad (Feat. Leighton Meester).” Co-written by Rudolf, American Idol’s Kara DioGuardi (Kelly Clarkson, Kylie Minogue, Pink), and Cobra Starship, the latter track lit up multi-format radio outlets around the globe, reaching the top 5 on Billboard’s “Hot 100” among other charts. A companion video – filmed on New York’s Lower East Side and featuring a co-starring performance from Meester, known far and wide for her role as “Blair Waldorf” on The CW’s original Gossip Girl – proved equally successful, earning a 2009 MTV Video Music Awards nomination as “Best Pop Video” and now boasts over 51M views via YouTube aloneIn 2015, after nine years of touring with everyone from Fall Out Boy to Justin Bieber, two Top 40 singles, three RIAA platinum and gold certified singles, and more than 600M global streams, Cobra Starship founder and frontman Gabe Saporta felt his mission was done and retired to private life. Although Cobra Starship has no plans of getting back together, the two newly unveiled “Tracks From The Future” continue his long-stated goal of bringing people together, getting them all emotional, and of course, making them dance.Track List

After the success of Codeine's Frigid Stars LP, the trio of Stephen Immerwahr, John Engle, and Chris Brokaw booked time at Harold Dessau Recording in June 1992 to track an eight-song sophomore album. A few days and a couple of unexplainable high-pitched frequencies later, the record was scrapped, shelved, and forgotten about. Brokaw left the band shortly after, and these songs were re-tracked in various iterations for Codeine's final LP. Numero has unearthed these recordings, restoring the original White Birch to the band's exacting standards with producer Mike McMackin. A slowcore masterpiece hidden in plain sight and on compact disc for the first time. UPC: 825764190077Label: NumeroRelease Date: 7.24.26Format: CD
Vinyl LP pressing. 2019 release. Johnson's introductory Warner project, Ain't Nothin' to It, ups the ante. After writing the bulk of his previous material, he put out word in Nashville that he was open to songs from other sources, and the results were astonishing. A-list writers - including Chris Stapleton, Radney Foster and Brothers Osborne guitarist John Osborne - came to the table with songs that suited Johnson's life and disposition. Music fans who are just now coming to the table will get a quick understanding of Johnson, from the rowdy troublemaker in the swampy "Doubt Me Now" to the devoted family man in the title track to the self-penned ex-bull rider in "Dear Rodeo" to the devoted Christian in "His Name Is Jesus."Johnson wears his musical influences on his sleeve - referencing George Strait in "When Cowboys Were King, " Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw in "Y'all People" and Johnny Cash, Jackson Browne and Bruce Springsteen in "Monday Morning Merle." Two choice covers further meld his personality with his musical taste. "Husbands and Wives, " a song that recognizes the day-to-day difficulties of holding a marriage together, is Johnson's way of tipping a hat to one of country's ultimate songwriters, the late Roger Miller. And "Long Haired Country Boy" has The Cody Johnson Band playing up his rebel side with a song established by The Charlie Daniels Band (yes, that's the CJB covering the CDB). But Johnson's version is filtered through the grizzly tone of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr. And Brantley Gilbert.

Two CDs. 2021 release from platinum recording artist Cody Johnson. The massive endeavor is stacked top to bottom with songs that were originally rejected by other Nashville artists, for what Johnson considers as being too country for country. "It's so hard to watch the fight to get the cowboy back on the radio, so I told them to bring those songs to me," Johnson explains. "Because that's who I am and the lifestyle I live." Johnson continued: "There was too much good out there to let go of, so I just said, 'We're going to cut all of them.' There are ones I wrote on, there are ones I didn't write on, and there are ones that I wish I'd written. I addressed things personally with this music and when people listen to Human, they are going to hear a lot more of me being me.
