Cosmolamps is drummer and composer Rintaro Mikami's second album, a meditative exploration of time, memory, and the fleeting beauty of everyday moments. Built around three variations on the title theme ""Time,"" representing past, present, and future, the record unfolds with lyrical compositions and sensitive, exploratory ensemble playing. Mikami leads a tight-knit group through music that is both intimate and expansive, drawing on a decade of life in New York and a childhood shaped by the landscapes of southern Japan. The result is a quietly ambitious jazz record about how small, personal moments gather into something larger and shared.
