On "Spinning," Vega captures the quiet dread of chasing something uncertain, singing, "still getting older while I'm going nowhere", a line that distills the fear of running out of time without anything to show for it. And on "Hollow," she reflects on being the one who pulls away, tracing the aftermath of emotional unavailability with unflinching honesty.
