A smash hit for this New Orleans born performer, and later covered by John Lennon on his ""Roots"" Lp, and other superstars like The Steve Miller Band who had a major rock radio hit with it in 1988, Johnny Halliday, Tony Sheridan, Lee Michaels, Ike & Tina Turner, Petula Clark, and many others, it's easily one of more popular New Orleans r&b songs ever recorded. The #1 r&b charter, and top 5 in the top forty track was pulled from the Lee's debut album of the same name ""Ya Ya."" The legendary 1961 LP features a treasure trove of more stunning follow up hits like ""Do Re Mi"" ""Eenie Meeni Minee Mo"" and ""People Gonna Talk."" Even more great r&b rockers like ""Give Me You"" and ""Chin Chin"" were featured on the Fury Records classic which has truly stood the test of time.
