Pre-Order: April + VISTA - Traditional Noise (LP, Translucent Fly Green) (New (N))

Description

TRADITIONAL NOISE is April + VISTA’s debut album, it explores their formative influences ranging from Radiohead and Gorillaz to Satoshi Kon films, and survival-horror video games. The album is a multi-layered, amber-colored fossil passing down stories about the people and memories they hold dear; it’s an analog snapshot of the world from their vantage point and aims to serve as a proper introduction to who the band is creatively.

SONICS

The album amplifies the grittiest elements defining the duo’s previous work while honoring sounds and textures reminiscent of the band’s distant childhood memories.

It fuses genres like: downtempo, electronic, alt-rock, soul, and art pop; taking cues from the bands that raised them (Radiohead, Gorillaz, Gnarls Barkley, Grizzly Bear, Madlib, Portishead, Hiatus Kaiyote, Gustavo Cerati, etc.)

The album has been mixed for spacial audio by immersive audio engineer Christopher Willits (Envelop/Ghostly) to provide a multidimensional listening experience.

THEMES

The album explores April + VISTA’s relationship to themes like: nostalgia, tradition, memory, defiance, preservation, and ephemera. The goal is for listeners to feel immersed in a familiar yet ethereal world, one they may have visited before in a dream or in another life.
