Text from the back of the jacket:
The music on this album represents, as near we could figure, some of the best that Southern New England has to offer. It was chosen from nearly one hundred tapes received by a panel of judges from WHCN Radio, Fred Locke Professional Audio, The Shaboo Inn and representatives from several record companies. (All entries were judged "blind," to avoid possible bias.) To the many groups and artists who could well have qualified for this album - and may well qualify for a future Homegrown Album - our regrets. We're only human. But we all have ears, and this album is dedicated to the glory of sound. Enjoy.
Live tracks recorded at the Shaboo Inn, Willimantic, Connecticut, Sunday, October 9, 1977; recorded by Fred Locke Professional Audio, Berlin, Connecticut. Entire album remixed at The Nineteen Studio, Hartford, Connecticut. Cover artwork by John T. Swanson II, Meriden, Connecticut. All profits from the sale of this album to distributor will be donated to a charity suggested by WHCN listeners.
